I don't know how I discovered this station, but when you're scanning your local radio band for Halloween music and come across a mystery frequency playing Weird Al and Spooky Scary Skeletons (before it became a meme!), you know you gotta record as much of it as you can. Hey, 15 year old me did something right for once! And unbeknownst to me (at the time), this station actually did something unheard of for a modern broadcast station, they signed off! Like, with a national anthem and everything! That was pretty cool.This is scoped from a larger aircheck, meaning all DJ bits and station bumpers are in this video. And I gotta say, this is one of the best local radio airchecks I've seen in recent years, especially from the 2010s. This here is a spooky AMBER Alert activation from June 11, 2017 recorded off of Green Bay/Fox Cities radio station WKRU-FM 106.7, during their last few months as an alternative station before flipping over to classic rock that December. This activation occurred during an airing/spinning(?) of the Modern English classic "I Melt With You". This particular message activated two more times during the day: on WKRU they happened between Michael Franti's "The Sound of Sunshine" and Andrew McMahon's "Fire Escape", and again between The Fixx's "Red Skies" and fun.'s "We Are Young". I believe the YT bot freaks out less with older music so the first activation was chosen.Before anybody freaks out, the kid was found safe.I own nothing. Also don't replay this over the air.
