You’re logged in with an Admin account on your Mac and running one of the following macOS.2. You have at least an 16 GB blank USB 2.0 or 3.0 Disk.3. Have a copy of macOS Catalina, and that’s located in the Applications folder.4. Open TextEdit and Make document as plain text.5. Copy and paste the following one line Terminal command, which I’ve included in the description, in the text document:sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/NameOfUSBDiskNow, with all the prep work taken care of, let’s begin creating the USB Boot Disk.Insert your USB Disk in an available USB socket and note the name.In my case, it's “USB1”.From the text document created earlier, replace “NameOfUSBDisk” with the name of your USB Disk.Final Steps:Open Terminal and copy and paste the one line Terminal command from the text document, and press return.You’ll then be asked to enter your Admin Password, and after pressing return, the creation of macOS Catalina USB Boot Disk Installer will begin.I’ll just time-lapse it from here.In My Case: Using a USB 3.0 disk, it only took just over 3-1/2 minutes to complete.For a USB 2.0 disk, it took just over 30 minutes to complete.Thanks for watching...Thumbs-up if you liked this episode...SUBSCRIBE to the channel, if you haven't already done so...And please don't forget to hit that BELL button, to be notified of the next upcoming episode.

So....Let's Get Started. READY...SET...GO!With all the hype surrounding the APFS file system used in macOS Big Sur, for Time Machine Backups.I was curious to know, if using Time Machine in macOS Big Sur to backup to an APFS formatted disk, would be a lot faster, as opposed to backing up to a HFS+ formatted disk.My bet was on the APFS formatted disk to be faster.Details of the external disk and enclosure used for Time Machine backups, can be found in the description below.Here, let's speed this up. WOW!! surprisingly, a Time Machine backup, took approximately the same amount of time, when using a HFS+ or an APFS formatted disk.Personally, I guess for the time being, I don't see any incentive to using an APFS formatted disk for Time Machine backups.Furthermore, since you're unable to covert a Time Machine HFS+ backup disk to an APFS disk, I'll be sticking to using a HFS+ disk, in terms of compatibility with earlier macOS's Time Machine backups, prior to Big Sur. You’re logged in with an Admin account on your Mac and running one of the following macOS.2. You have at least an 16 GB blank USB 2.0 or 3.0 Disk.3. Have a copy of macOS Big Sur, available from the Mac App Store as a free download, and that’s located in the Applications folder.4. Open TextEdit and make document as plain text.5. Copy and paste the following one line Terminal command, which I’ve included in the description, in the text document:sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Big\ Sur.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/NameOfUSBDisk --nointeractionNow, with all the prep work taken care of, let’s begin creating the USB Boot Disk.Insert your USB Disk in an available socket and note the name. In my case, the name of the USB is “USB1”.From the text document created earlier, replace “NameOfUSBDisk” with the name of your USB Disk.Final Steps: Open Terminal and copy and paste the one line Terminal command from the text document, return.You’ll then be asked to enter your Admin Password and after pressing return, the creation of macOS Big Sur USB Boot Disk Installer will begin.I’ll just time-lapse it from here.In My Case: Using a USB 3.0 disk, it only took just over 4 1/2 minutes to complete. And for a USB 2.0 disk, it took just over 35 minutes to complete. As shown, there are many keyboard shortcuts available in the editor.To resize the video window, drag the equal sign type icon up or down.Zoom-In or out to resize the Editor timeline as shown.The Editor timeline has four options available, Video, Audio, End Screen and Blur.Let’s go through each one.The Video timeline line allows you to Trim the beginning, end or any sections in between the video, simply click TRIM to begin.Ok, let’s trim the beginning by dragging the blue vertical line to the right and similarly, to trim the end, drag the blue line towards the left.Next, let’s trim a section in the middle.Move the playhead the the point where you want to delete and click Split, now move the blue vertical line towards the right to end of the clip to delete. Zoom in for precise edits.Click Preview to to view your edits and click the save button to begin processing the Trim edits.After the processing is done, let’s add some music to the clip by clicking on Audio and choose the music you would like from YouTube’s royalty free music library.Then click the save changes button and also the save button shown here to confirm.Once again, wait for the processing to finish. Now let’s add End Screen elements, sim\ply click ADD AN END SCREEN and choose the style of end screen to add the click apply.Bruce is a bit camera shy, so let’s add the Blur effect to his face. Click Blur and place the blur effect on the area to be blurred.Then click the Done button.As before, wait for the processing to finish before continuing on. Once the processing is completed, view the edits and see how it all turn out.Unfortunately, the blur effect applied did not work after several tries. I guess as this is still in beta mode, some work still needs to be done.Overall the entire processing process took a couple of hours to complete, hopefully when YouTube Video Editor is officially released it would be a better experience.For the moment, if you want to try out YouTube’s Video Editor, I would recommend that you upload a demo clip of your own and play around with it in order to get a feel for it.

Continuing on…New in Final Cut Pro 10.4, is the Custom LUT effect found in the Effects browser, shown here.No more having to use any third-party plugins to import LUTs.Before you can use the Custom LUT effect, you’ll need some LUTs to play around with.There’s thousands of creative LUTs that can be downloaded either for free or by purchasing them on the internet.I’ve included some links below in the description on where you can get your hands on some for free.Anyway, moving on.Once downloaded, usually in zip format, extract it and put it in a LUTs folder of your choice, as shown here.I’ve already created a Folder earlier called FREE LUTs.Let’s now apply a Custom LUT effect, either directly on a color graded clip or on an adjustment layer as shown.I’ve already covered how to use an adjustment layer on a previous video, link is in description and card shown somewhere up here.Anyway, now with the Custom LUT effect applied, go to the video inspector and click on the LUT dropdown list and select “Choose Custom LUT…”Navigate to where your downloaded LUTs folder is stored and either select individual LUTs file with the cube extension or what I prefer to do is select the entire Folder.As you can see, the entire creative LUTs collection is shown here.Play around with different LUTs and adjust the Mix according to the look you’re going for.You can really get creative using the Custom LUTs effect in Final Cut Pro 10.4. Ok…let’s jump into it.This video is in response to a couple of questions left on the video “How To Use Time Machine” In summary:Question 1, Tolga asks: How to exclude a user from a Time Machine backup.And Question 2, LibraryDan asks: How to delete all copies of a file from a Mac and all Time Machine backups.Therefore, in response to question 1:If you want to exclude any Users, files, folders, even hard drives from a Time Machine backup, then you will need to add it to the exclusion list of Time Machine, Lets add the User, macStudioA to the exclusion list.Open Time Machine Preferences either from the menubar or from System Preferences and click the Time Machine icon.Then click on the Options… button shown here.Now click the plus symbol and locate the user to be excluded, then click the Exclude button.Repeat for other files or folders if necessary.if you want to remove any files from the exclusion list, simply highlight the file and click the minus symbol. Click the Save button when done.Next, in response to question 2:If you want to delete all copies of a file or folder from your Mac and all Time Machine backups. Then do the following:First, locate all copies of the file or folder that you want to erase by searching for it in Finder, and simply delete it. Don’t forget to also empty the Trash.Next, let’s delete all backup of the file in Time Machine, simply click on the Time Machine icon from menubar and select Enter Time Machine. From here, search for the file. The first thing I’ll do, is use the Blade to to spit the clip at an arbitrary section and then duplicate the selected clip by simply holding down the Option key and drag it above the Adjustment Layer.Now; select the duplicated clip and add the Draw Mask effect onto it.Reduce the view to say 25% and click here to add the first point. Now, while holding down the Shift key, add the second point.As you can see, dragging the Vertical lines shown here towards the right or left, reveals the color graded clip below it.Ok, let’s Keyframe the Mask to animate it.Therefore, skim to the point where you want to start the animation and click on the Control Point shown here, to begin key framing the Mask.Now, on the selected clip, move the Playhead to a point where you want the animation to end.Then drag the vertical Mask line towards the right until the entire color graded clip is visible.

In this episode I’m going to demo 5 Cool macOS Mojave Tips & Features.1: Open All Desktop Stacks at once. Simply place your mouse pointer on any Stack then press the Option key and click to open or close all stacks at once.2: Increase Thumbnail size when in Gallery View. Right-click on any blank area where the Thumbnails are or press the following keyboard shortcut Command-J then click Show View Options and select 1 of 3 thumbnail sizes.3: Choose from a variety of Accent colors. Open System Preferences and click on the General icon and then select the combination of Accent colors for buttons, check boxes and highlights.4: Activate Mojave Screenshots Hud. Simply press the following keyboard combination: shift-command-5 to activate the Screenshots Hud where you can choose to capture the entire, selected window or selected portion of your screen and even the ability to record the entire or portion of your screen.Click on the Option button for even more options like choosing where to save your captured or recorded screen.And finally, #5 my personal favorite: Autofill Two-Step Verification codes. If this was the only feature included in macOS Mojave when released this fall, I would upgrade just for this feature.For those of you who use Two-Step Verification when signing on to certain websites like Twitter, Gmail and YouTube.And as you know, when an Authentication code is sent to your iPhone and if you have Text Message Forwarding activated on your iPhone for your Mac, you would normally enter the code manually or copy and paste it from Messages.Personally I have always found this to be a bit of a hassle, especially if you have many sites set up for Two-Step Verification…UNTIL NOW!Did I already mention that this was my favorite feature. In this episode I’m going to demo how to install and run macOS Mojave on an external USB 3.0 SSD drive.Straight to the Demo.Soooooo, Let's Get Started.What you will need:An Intel Based Mac System. A Downloaded copy of macOS Mojave Installer.And finally, a fast USB 3.0 External SSD Drive.As usual, since we'll be using Disk Utility, make sure you have or made a backup of your system hard drive before proceeding.Now, with all the basic necessities taken care of, the first thing we'll need to do after inserting the SSD drive in an available USB 3.0 socket, is to open Disk Utility and format the SSD Drive.Therefore, after opening Disk Utility, click on the name of your SSD drive in the sidebar, in my case the name is Blank SSD, then click the Erase button shown here.Now, name your SSD drive to whatever you like and make sure that the format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).Then click the Erase button to format the SSD drive.After formatting the SSD drive, you can close Disk Utility and simply launch the macOS Mojave installer and choose to install Mojave on the SSD drive just formatted.I’ll just time lapse the installation process from here, which took about 18 minutes to complete, to point where you begin to select your location.Once the required login details has been entered, you are brought to the Mojave desktop. Once selected, you can fine tune the placement, angle and opacity.Let's now choose where to copy your Watermarked PDF documents.Select Files & Folders then click and drag "Move Finder Items" action. In this episode, I'll demo how to set up a new Mac from a Time Machine backup.Let's consider the following scenarios, you've already done a Time Machine backup and wiped your Mac clean before selling it. As was shown on the following two episodes.Furthermore, you've just purchased a new Mac and now wish to restore everything from your Time Machine Backup to the new Mac.Demo Time.Soooooo, Let's Get Started.Therefore; turn the Mac on. After hearing the familiar boot chime, you're presented with the Welcome setup screen.Select your country then press the Continue button.Then your Keyboard layout and click Continue.Select and enter the password for your Wi-Fi network and then click the Continue.Once the connection to your Wi-Fi network is established you're shown information about Apple's Data & Privacy policy. Then click Continue.At this point, connect your Time Machine backup disk to your new Mac.Now, on the Transfer Information To This Mac window, click the radio button for the Time Machine option and then click Continue.Select Time Machine Backup disk and click Continue. Select the backup to transfer information from, in my case it's from my MacBook Air, then click Continue.You're now shown the information that will be transferred to this new Mac.Wait for the spinning icon to finish loading all necessary information, then click Continue.Now enter a password for your user account oo this Mac, then click Continue.Again entirely up to you, un-check all boxes for FileVault Encryption and then click Continue.The transferring of your information from your Time Machine backup will start automatically.Once completed, your Mac will restart automatically to finalize the Migration process and will indicate when the Migration is complete. In this episode I’m going to go through the process involved when preparing your Mac to sell or giveaway.Let jump right in with the DEMO.Sooooo, Let’s Get Started.The process when preparing your Mac to sell or giveaway is quite straight forward.Firstly, the most IMPORTANT thing you need to do…you probably guessed it…BACK UP YOUR Mac disk. Don’t proceed to the next steps until this is done first.No need to panic, simply watch the episode titled : How To Use Time Machine.I’ve included a link on the description and at the end of this video.Which shows the necessary information on how to backup your Mac disk using Time Machine.Once that’s taken care of, it's time to move on to the next steps.Secondly, De-authorise your Mac via. iTunes. As shown.Thirdly, Sign out of iCloud, when asked if want to keep copies of files on you Mac, simply uncheck all options as we’ll be erasing the Mac disk and copies are already stored in iCloud.Fourthly, Sign out of iMessage as shown.The fifth step is optional. If you’re keeping your bluetooth devices such as your keyboard, mice or trackpad, you need to unpair them.For example, this important if using an iMac, Mac Pro, or Mac mini. Please note you will need a wired keyboard or mouse in order to continue to the next step.It’s now time to move on to the sixth and final steps, which is to erase your Mac disk and reinstall macOS.Therefore, make a note of the macOS that you’re currently using, in my case it’s macOS Sierra and then shutdown the MacIn order to erase and reinstall macOS, you need to start your Mac in macOS Recovery mode.Simply turn on or restart your Mac and immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys. Keep holding down the keys and release when you see the Apple logo or spinning globe.After a little while, you should see the macOS Utilities window shown.At this point, you’re ready to erase your Mac disk. Simply click on the Disk Utility option and then click Continue.Now depending on which macOS you’re using, you’ll see the following: If you’re using macOS Sierra or earlier, you’ll see the window shown on the left and if using macOS High Sierra or later, you should see the window on the right.The procedures for erasing your Mac disk is exactly the the same which ever macOS versions you’re using with the exception that the formats of the disk are different, as shown.Therefore, click on the disk named Macintosh HD or whatever name it might be on the sidebar, then click on the Erase icon shown here.Now complete the fields if necessary with the following details shown here.Making sure that if using macSO Sierra or earlier the format is Mac Extended Journaled and if using macOS High Sierra or later the format is APFS.Then click Erase to begin erasing your disk.Once completed, quit Disk Utility.You’re now ready to install macOS.Simply click on Reinstall macOS, then click the continue button.Accept the terms and select the Macintosh HD icon.The download from Apple server and automatic installation of macOS will begin.No need to stick around, go for a jog, swim or whatever, as this will take some time to complete.Once the installation of macOS is complete, you’ll see the following screen.Now; simply press Command-Q to quit without completing the setup up steps. Then click the Shut Down button.Don’t forget to give your Mac a good clean making ready for the next owner.And that’s all there is to it. Your Mac is now ready to sell or give away.

Purchase and external hard drive.2. Connect external hard to your Mac and 3. From the auto-loading Time Machine pop-up window, click the button "Use as Backup Disk" and your Mac backup procedure automatically begin…seriously, it’s that simple.Perhaps the hardest thing for you to do on your part, is deciding on the type of external hard drive and storage space needed for your Time Machine backups.To ease your dilemma as to the storage space needed, generally get an external hard drive double the size of your current Mac internal storage.Once the external hard drive has been purchased, simply connect it to your Mac.Usually, when connecting a new blank external hard drive to the Mac, you'll see the following auto-load Time Machine set-up window, asking if you want to use this hard drive to back up with Time Machine.Simply click the button "Use as Backup Disk"and you'll be presented with the Time Machine Preferences window.Alternatively, if the blank hard drive was formatted differently, then you'll see the following window after you click the button "Use as Backup Disk" Asking if you want to erase the backup disk. In order to check if your handwriting is recognized properly, there’s a preview display that converts your handwriting as it’s written. The preview display can be turned On or Off.#2. Using a Strikethrough or Scratch-out gesture with the Apple Pencil, you're able to erase words. Use same gestures, to erase shapes or equations.#3. Break words or lines by drawing a straight vertical line downwards. Conversely; join words or lines by drawing a straight vertical line upwards.#4. On the bottom of the iPad, there’s a Lightning connector socket, also built in Stereo speakers, on the top of the iPad there's a 3.5mm headphone jack and twin microphones.Found on the back 8 megapixel 1080p camera, on/off or sleep and wake button and on the side a volume up/down Botton and on the from, there's a 1.2 megapixel FaceTime HD front facing camera and also a Home/Touch ID sensor and not forgetting to mention the new iPad packs a powerful A10 Fusion chip currently running iOS 11.Ok, with the unboxing all done, the first thing that needs to be done is to pair the Apple Pencil with the new iPad.Therefore, after signing in with your Apple ID, to pair the Apple Pencil, simply insert the Apple Pencil lightning connector into the iPad lightning socket, wait a few seconds till the iPad recognizes the Apple Pencil with a Bluetooth Pairing Request message, just click on the Pair button to finish the pairing procedure....now it's time to go off and have some fun using the iPad with the Apple Pencil.
