This year winter for me was quite challenging. I was away in quite an isolated place training racing dogs. We didn’t really have snow here in Tromso until February.We also had no guests until February so it was a really weird winter. It can be quite hard to get out of bed in the morning and motivate yourself to do something when it's been dark for months..So, that’s behind us now. In this video, I am gonna take you out to the training round with me with the twenty dogs, through the forest around the place.Now these twenty dogs run about a hundred and forty meters in the last two days. today we're gonna be running sixty kilometers. And these dogs at the end of the winter will be running the finnmark local race in October.Also Watch: Flight to Antarctica, Christchurch to McMurdo Sound: youtu.be/X6iyz4hrEaQA race which is about a thousand kilometers long and it helds further North in here.To start in the morning we feed the dogs a meat soup. And this is mostly for hydration. Has a little bit of meat on it, and some chopped up stomach or some dog sausage lump.We gave the females like three quarters of the scoop of the soup. And the male gives a full scoop of the soup. That's breakfast, and they also get snacks which is like a handful of dog sausage lump mixed with dry foods. This gives the dogs enough energy to run for the day. Today we are gonna run sixty and I will do that probably in three rounds of twenty. And we will stop for water and snacks in between rounds back of the house.There are two types of Husky. Alaskan husky and Syberian husky. Alaskan huskies are not that much fluffy or cute but they are great for really really good racing dogs and strong working dogs.I have more videos on Antarctica on my channel. This is such a beautiful sight of nature and happens each summer as it warms all around the continent. It is an amazing sight and you can stare at it for hours waiting for the next piece to break off. I will show the sea ice breaking out in front of McMurdo Station and Scott Base in February 2019.Also Watch: Flight to Antarctica, Christchurch to McMurdo Sound: youtu.be/X6iyz4hrEaQYou will also see the scenery from Observation Hill. This timelapse is taken over a period of half an hour and the camera is pointed due south. The sea ice forms during the extremely cold winter and spring months and then weakens and breaks up during summer and fall.Strong southerly winds will speed up this process and push the ice out to sea. It’s about negative five degrees and really windy today.There’s snow falling down from all over the trees that we are hitting. I am really glad that I’m wearing this hat. These possum fur hats are designed by my family and made by either my mum or myself. Most of the hats that I’ve sold have actually gone to people working in the Antarctic or the Arctic. I have been working as a dog sledding guide with Tromso Villmarkssenter for about six months before CoronaVirus started. Tromso didn’t really get affected by the virus too much. Norway had about 20 000 cases in the last few months but it really never got out of control. Maybe one of the main reasons for this is that Norwegians are quite distant people. It may really slow down the spread of the virus. They decided to do surgery on my finger to fix a cut tendon and they took care of me really well. They need your help! A husky keep your mood up and loneliness away, motivates you to get regular training and love to cuddle with you through a Netflix marathon. In Short, the perfect quarantine friend!We pick the appropriate dog for you and give you carefully instructions how to take care of it. Then you can bring it home to you until the quarantine is over (or you want to give it back). All you have to do is send us regularly video / photos of the dog, so we can see it's good with you.🐶 our dogs are super kind and well used to being in contact with alien people, both adults and children.🐶 they are super excited and used to be inside. They have also lived in layers with other dogs all their lives, so there is no problem if you have other pets.🐶 it is not necessary to buy any equipment, we give you matskåle, ties, trekkseddel and lining.
