What Does The Coronavirus Feel Like - My Symptoms, Timeline and Recovery The New Stepford 2020-04-07 | Hi, There is a lot to be scared about out there but I want to offer you some hope. I have fully recovered from Covid-19. Was it scary? Yes. Did I think I was going to die? For about 10 minutes yes. Was it as bad as they say? I can’t speak for others but it was debilitating at times.I want to share my symptoms and timeline with you so you can recognize things that may be happening to your body and your kids and to monitor them closely.I am full of good spirits and truly inspired watching families, neighborhoods, and states come together to support each other through these times. If you are currently sick, I wish you a quick recovery.My first exposure was 2/29/20, my first symptoms on 3/3/20. Day 1 - Fever and chills. Quite rude actually. Hit me hard and without warning. Had the kind that make your teeth chatter. Felt warm but didn’t actually take my temperature. Days 2 - 4 The fever and chills went away but left a parting gift of fatigue and body aches. The fatigue was to my bones. Ladies, like first trimester pregnancy tired. I really couldn’t move much. It was accompanied by aches from muscles and joints that had remained nameless and invisible to me to this point in my life. I had a headache that would drive a stake through my brain for about 10 seconds 3 times a day then go away. Days 5 - 7 Okay, so this is where it gets weird. Days 5 -6 I feel fine! All symptoms are gone. But this is where you need to be careful. This virus can BOOMERANG so you think you just caught a cold but it comes back about a week later and it comes back hard. My recommendation is if you fell ill, stay low and drink lots of liquids.Days 8-11 Loss of taste, but still felt FINE. Super weird right? At first I just thought McDonald’s Shamrock Shake machine was broken and they gave me vanilla instead. The next day I had the same issue with thinking Chipotle’s syrup on their coke and root beer machine was out. It wasn’t until I had a burrito that I realized I couldn’t taste anything. I even tried hot sauce. I could feel the burn but not taste it. From what I’ve heard this is a pretty consistent symptom so pay attention to this. But again, I felt fine! No fever, no chills, nothing. This is my personal, never spent one day at medical school ,opinion is why it spreads so much. You don’t realize you really had anything serious. Days 12 - 20 The boomerang comes back and it’s name is FATIGUE. It wasn’t as strong as the first wave. I could be functioning for 5-6 hours at a time, but then I would have to lie down. Thankfully my taste sense returns. Days 20 - 26 Extreme lightheadedness. I had the feeling that I’m falling backwards. My doctor said lightheadedness is a symptom for some and happens at the end of the virus, so I’m glad for that. The more water I drink the less lightheaded I feel, so please hydrate! My pattern would be normal energy until about 3, then I had to lie down for about 3 hours. I’m back up at 6 and again asleep at 10. Every day was different. Day 27 - today - I have had no symptoms since then. My doctor says this means I am recovered. I have called the NIH to see if I can donate my blood for plasma research.I know I am lucky, I am grateful I had no respiratory issues. Some questions you may have…Do I need anything? Nope. Just please take this virus seriously and stay at home and be very aware of any symptoms.How did I get tested? I couldn’t get a test at Kaiser since I wasn’t critical so I found a local clinic. MY RESULTS TOOK 12 DAYS.How was I exposed? I spent the night with my friend in San Francisco on 2/29 who had just returned from Europe. She tested positive and started showing symptoms a day before me. How am I emotionally? I am fine. I am more concerned about who I could have possibly given it to and feel guilty about that. I wonder if people will treat me differently. So far everyone has been overly helpful and kind. My family? My husband and kids tested negative.My advice? Listen to Dr. Fauci. Social distance. Be extra attuned to your body. If you feel short of breath please see someone! Don’t go out unless you need to. Be kind to everyone.

At the cafe the door became stuck so I had to drive to school with the door stuck open.
