Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jvgsjeffWi-Fi Moments #31 (Animal Crossing: New Horizons)jvgsjeff2024-06-25 | Highlights from online play during Logan's Festivale/Valentine's Day party, Sam's birthday party, and Alex's gathering. Nami turns into a (strawberry-flavored) frilled lizard, a "poo" song sounds familiar, we take a very out-of-sync gulp of coffee, and of course there's always some lag, fun with pitfalls, and ocean sunfish. This is the 31st Wi-Fi Moments video, featuring clips of multiplayer/online highlights from December 2023 through June 2024.
See the blog entries linked below for more details. This is Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) for Nintendo Switch.
Q: How do you type so fast? A: I use a USB keyboard plugged into the Switch dock.
Q: Why is it called Wi-Fi Moments? A: It's a carryover from my ACCF series. In the Wii/DS days, Nintendo's online service was called Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. So I called my ACCF series of online highlights Wi-Fi Moments. It was a fan favorite, so I brought it back with New Horizons.

This is Animal Crossing: Wild World (ACWW) for Nintendo DS, but played on the Wii U Virtual Console. This episode covers events in my town of Forest from May 4th through June 7th, 2024.

A cat leaves town and I go island-hopping for a replacement, Static dresses up and looks sharp, Bob seems to get a massage from some flowers in the wind, June makes her first visit to my house, Louie seems obsessed with shoes even though he never wears shoes, and more.

And yes, I know those are King K. Rool's toes, not Donkey Kong's.
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jvgsjeffAnimal Crossing - GameCube Moments #20jvgsjeff2024-06-10 | More of my Animal Crossing highlights (Nintendo GameCube version) showing interesting and funny moments. Baabara gets mad when I mess with her tea, Candi FORCES me to give her a catchphrase, I help out a club club cub (you'll see), Candi BANS me from fishing or going near the river(!!!), I immediately disprove Astrid's tantrum thanks to a very coincidental gift from Tom, Ursala tells me she wants to dress up like a butterfly, a rude returning cat gets an unwelcome welcome, and more.
Most of these clips are from my main town Forest, except for the Marcy clip which is from Aja Blu. Most of these clips are from this year (2024), but the first couple were left over from 2023.

Mint visits my home and acts surprisingly rude, I discover Tom Nook's wanted poster from his criminal days, Gabi can't find the food under her nose, a superhero returns to spy on a neighbor, Mint and Antonio discuss marriage, a duck in the city mentions a mystery gardener, I mess with Phyllis (just because), I have trouble finding a flea, and Tom finally uses his Tom & Jerry-themed catchphrase in a way that makes sense. These clips are from February through May 2024.

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jvgsjeffGetting Around Hyrule - (Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Vehicles)jvgsjeff2024-05-26 | Montage featuring many of the vehicles Link uses to get around Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) for Nintendo Switch. I recorded these clips throughout my gameplay, and they are shown roughly in sequential order (as you can see by my heart count in the top-left corner). Some of these vehicles are found in the game already, and others were crafted using the UltraHand ability. None of my creations were very elaborate, but I tried to show a good variety of vehicles on land, sea, and air.
From a quick downhill run while shield surfing, to a relaxing raft floating down the river. From mine carts to winged flying machines. From a homemade triple sled to a Yiga Clan schematic monocycle. This is definitely not a complete list of vehicles, as the number of vehicles you can ride (or make) is nearly infinite. But it's a good sample of what I've been using so far in the game.
The songs used are the Hyrule Overworld theme from The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and the Dark World theme from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Ankha gives me too much information about the "sculptures" she's making, Pascal makes a bad pun about attacking food (which I take as a challenge), I leave town for two weeks (my Switch was being repaired) and I returned to weeds and some sweet villagers, I have a fierce battle with a tarantula stuck in the obstacle course, some bugs defy gravity, I complete my next-to-last Nook Miles achievement, I drink coffee through a knight's helmet, and more.

It shows pictures from my eleventh (11th) year in the game (from May 2nd, 2023 to May 2nd, 2024). It includes my 10th anniversary party, some island tours, my completion of Desert Island Escape (and my rewards), two villager photos I earned, the fireworks festival, the Autumn Moon, wishing on some shooting stars, the departure of one villager and the adoption of another from the campsite, Toy Day, the New Year's Eve countdown, Shamrock Day, my dream visit to Chris' town of Sutton, a fishing tournament, and my final Friday Night Forest.
The songs playing are the 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. themes.

This one features 39 last-second kills in Splatoon: There are 37 clips, and two of them feature double last-second kills (the first clip and the next-to-last clip). A couple other clips might appear to be double last-second kills (and they're close), but not quite last-second if you look at them frame by frame. This count does not include my own deaths (of which there are many).

I have one more final, bigger, Splatoon video coming later this week! Don't worry Animal Crossing fans, this Splatoon surge is temporary and this channel will remain primarily an Animal Crossing channel. In the meantime, Stay Fresh!

I didn't start Wild World until 2016 (when the Virtual Console version was released on Wii U), so that's why it starts later than New Leaf. At the end, I list all of my photos earned to date.
Note: Duplicate photos are not counted, so Tabby's pic in New Leaf only counts as one even though my first two pics ever were from her. Pictures of special characters are not included either, nor are photos given to me by online friends. Only photos I've earned in-game are counted here.

After Midge left my island (Forest), I started with ten Nook Miles Tickets and one goal: To find my next resident. While some decisions were quick, some others left me struggling to decide. Did I find a good villager, or did I give up after ten tries and settle for a random animal? Watch and see!

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jvgsjeffMy Animal Crossing Savings (Bells) by Game - Line Chart Racejvgsjeff2024-03-13 | This animated line chart race shows my Animal Crossing savings balance (in bells) in each of the five core Animal Crossing games. It's much harder to make bells in the older games (particularly GameCube, which doesn't even give you interest on your savings). New Leaf and New Horizons make earning bells a breeze, by comparison.
Some data is estimated, particularly before 2011 (before starting my blog, where I made note of milestones). I generally don't start saving money in my account until my house is completely paid off. So each game's savings will be at zero until that point. I don't know when I first paid off my house on GameCube, so the early GameCube data is based on a very rough estimate of January 2004. The latest data is current as of March 12, 2024.
Even though I started Wild World in 2016, I didn't start saving until I completed all of the Boondox donations (in addition to paying off my house, of course). So that's why it doesn't appear on the timeline until after New Horizons.
As for New Leaf, I took my foot off the gas once I reached 100 million and completed the last of the savings-related goals. I'm sure my New Horizons savings will eventually top my New Leaf total. If you're watching this in the future (after the video has been up at least a couple years), feel free to remind me to make an updated version!
Please check out my blogs for each Animal Crossing game! I still maintain them regularly!

(Animal Crossing)jvgsjeff2024-02-25 | New Horizons has introduced a lot of features to the Animal Crossing series, but not all of them are worth keeping for future games. Which ones should STAY and which should GO? I give my opinions in this video; share yours in the comments!
0:00 Intro/Description 0:10 Deserted Island Setting 0:26 Change Your Appearance at Any Time 0:38 Tool Ring 0:52 Reshaping the Land 1:07 Crafting 1:28 Outdoor Furniture 1:45 Fences 2:00 Vaulting Poles 2:17 Autosave 2:36 8-Player Online Play 2:51 Path-Making Tool 3:07 Warp Pipes 3:26 Cooking 3:44 Farming 4:01 Buying in Bulk 4:19 Singing Villagers 4:29 Breakable Tools

I repeatedly find Jingle the black-nosed reindeer, who can be found either outdoors or in the homes of villagers that aren't home. By changing disguises (hats) repeatedly, I trick him into giving me gifts over and over. And I love the festive, wintry atmosphere! Can I acquire the full Jingle furniture set?
Let me know which Animal Crossing game(s) you played for Christmas Eve/Toy Day! (I also played it in New Leaf and New Horizons this year.) It seems like it would be oddly comforting to know that other people were playing the same event in the same games on the same day, perhaps even at the same time. 😊

Villagers may not always be super pleasant (especially in the earlier games), but they do have their moments when they seem to have your best interests at heart. And they really seem like an actual friend...if only for a moment. What are some of your favorite bits of feel-good dialogue from the series?
This video includes clips from Animal Crossing (GameCube), Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS), Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii), and Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo Switch). Thanks for watching, and Never Stop Crossing!

Tom gives me 15 minutes to find him, Grizzly, and Egbert. One of them has a laughably bad hiding spot. Can I win the game in time? Believe it or not, I've never posted a full hide-and-seek video before!
Hide-and-seek is an activity in City Folk and New Leaf, but not in New Horizons. Even though it's disappointing that it's not in ACNH, I can understand the reasoning behind it. Many people have customized their island layouts to the point where some parts of town are not easily accessible...or maybe not accessible at all! And if a villager hid there, it would be impossible to win. So I guess it makes sense that the game wasn't present in New Horizons.
Note: If you were wondering about the balloon present, it contained a koopa shell.

This is the 30th Wi-Fi Moments video, featuring clips of multiplayer/online highlights from September through November, 2023.
The early clips are from Jesse's town Farmington, the middle clips are from my town Forest, and the last clips are from Logan's town Moonscar.

I check my mail, attend the festival, grab some silverware, and then begin my hunt for Franklin (and my quest for harvest furniture)! He has some funny bits of dialogue that I had forgotten about, and he showed up in some interesting spots too. At the end, I redecorate my upstairs room to show off my harvest furniture set. Happy Thanksgiving!

I trap my villagers, search for Jack, trade candy for valuable spooky furniture, go trick-or-treating for more candy, sell my haul, and at the end, I purposely deny candy to some villagers just for the punishments.
Note #1: It works better if you trap your villagers BEFORE 6 p.m. (before they turn into evil candy-obsessed demons), but unfortunately I wasn't able to do that this year. So I had to do it the hard way. And yes, you can play without trapping them, but the villagers will slow you down significantly, and you'll go through a lot more candy too (or risk losing items to their transformations).
Note #2: Even though I showed my haul of 25 spooky items in the video, I later got one more item before ending my game for the night.
Did you play any Animal Crossing games for Halloween? Or did you have a good time irl? Let me know in the comments!

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jvgsjeffContraptions I Built for Shrines - Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomjvgsjeff2023-10-15 | Many shrines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be solved in different ways (particularly those that require the Ultrahand ability). In this video, I'll show the contraptions I built to solve many shrines (and a few non-shrine tasks too, as a bonus at the end). Your methods may vary; feel free to share your alternate solutions in the comments!
Spoiler alert: If it's not obvious from the title, solutions to some shrines will be revealed in this video. They are shown in sequential order though (the order that I played them, but your shrine order may be different). Quick summary:
Note: I still have many more shrines and quests remaining in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)...so I may make a Part 2 in the future. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
