I was inspired by many of my favorite Booktubers talking about slowing down, but I also am consistently inspired by readers who share great techniques for reading fast! I wanted to combine the two. And here's the result of months and months of brainstorming.
There's no timeline set in stone for this project, but I've started my rereading journey already and can't wait to share it with you! Stay tuned!

*Note: you can no longer purchase the Coffee House Press edition of In the Distance from Bookshop, nor can you find it on Coffee House Press's website. I'm going to guess (though I don't know for sure) that the rights to the novel were sold to Riverhead Books, an imprint of Penguin and the publisher of Hernan Diaz's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Trust. Such is the life of a small press: big corporate publishers often swoop up authors once those authors become a big name!
In August, I let YOU pick six fall new releases for me to pre-order from independent publishers. And now I've read them! Was it a good idea to let you choose my fall reading?
Books I pre-ordered:
Cross-Stitch, by Jazmina Barrera, translated by Christina MacSweeney (Two Lines Press)
The Possessed, by Witold Gombrowicz, translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones (Fitzcarraldo Editions)
Peach Pit: 16 Stories of Unsavory Women, edited by Molly Llewellyn and Kristel Buckley (Dzanc Books)
Landscapes, by Christine Lai (Two Dollar Radio)
The New Animals, by Pip Adam (Dorothy: A Publishing Project)
The Understory, by Saneh Sangsuk, translated by Mui Poopoksakul (Deep Vellum)
