The BEST bearing spacers in the world... are they worth it? City Blades 2019-08-05 | Hey CO30, been a while since I ventured into some "deep tech", aaaand the other day someone sent me a total bro-science article about bearing spacers, so I decided to take this opportunity to debunk some myths. Hope it helps!Point of note--plastic frames generally have the opposite problem as aluminum--wheel rub is a more common problem than wheel wiggle, because plastic flexes more than aluminum. Kia Sofia skates City Blades 2019-03-21 | A traveling ice show was coming through town, and I recognized one of the girls from Instagram. I decided to contact her and see if she would be interested in making a video, and as luck would have it, she had an off day and happened to have her skates with her.We found an hour and a half of ice time that Wednesday morning and, despite being an off-day for a professional skater, the sight of a big open patch of ice all to herself brought out an immediate and infectious sense of joy; she stepped on the ice with the same rush of enthusiasm as a child jumping into a pool on a hot summer day.Although slightly out of her element, as making a skate video isn't exactly standard practice in the world of figure skating, she came prepared with ideas for lines, was extremely coachable, creative, and again, enthusiastic about the work we were doing--I'm not sure I got a single video clip where she's not smiling and laughing at some point.Shooting was a blast, I'm very proud of the finished product... 10/10 would do it again.Thanks for watching!
