Re-evaluating Ixalan Macready Musings 2020-02-20 | Ixalan was a peculiar Magic: the Gathering set. It told the story of a war between Vampires, Pirates, Merfolk and Dinosaurs whilst taking creative inspiration from the age of exploration. Generally Ixalan is not well regarded by the community. Its limited gameplay was considered shallow and stale and its tribes failed to impact Standard.
