So I actually created this arrangement ages ago, to record with a live string quartet, but we ran out of time at our last session...and since it's looking like we won't ever be able to get together any time soon, I figured why wait? Tifa wasn't my favorite in the OG FF7 (I'm an Aeris stan), though I loved this theme, but she has grown on me SO MUCH since playing Remake so I really wanted to do something special for her as well :)
Huge thanks to IsrafelCello for joining me on this one! (and also shout out to my closet for being able to put together a super last minute cosplay with stuff I already had LOL)

Well, you asked for it!! I'm so excited to share this video, which I made while drawing inspiration from my Molduga video a while back...I like the parallels between the themes in terms of energy and orchestration, and since that was one of the hardest I've ever done (it was abandoned for years) I wanted to challenge myself to do it again with this one. Somehow it was even more difficult in many ways π€£ But I sure did have a blast working on it! This is probably the last *big* video I'll be doing from TOTK, but I still have a few smaller ones I would like to do and who knows what else π Make sure to sub if you want to see more!
#tearsofthekingdom #zeldatotk #colgeraMipha Court (Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) - Violin and PianoPatti Rudisill2023-06-09 | Mipha Court (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) Arranged and performed by Patti Rudisill
Ok first things first - COLGERA IS COMING I promise π I was so happy to see so much interest when I put out the post, though knowing I was already working on this one and it would go out first (Colgera is gonna be a beast anyway but I've already started working on it lol) Anyway - THIS TRACK is one that immediately stood out to me and only grew on me more as I listened. Did anyone else *instantly* clock the first chord from OOT the first time they heard it??? I love stuff like this in Zelda scores...and I am also a sucker for impressionistic (or French in general) music so this one had a direct line to my heartstrings. Love getting to go back to my classical performance roots for something like this, where the melody is simple but requires SO much nuance and care for every note. The original performer was fantastic and I only hoped to do as good a job, while working with a different instrumental color :D P.S. Did anyone catch the other two or three musical easter eggs I threw in here? π
#TOTK #tearsofthekingdom #zeldatearsofthekingdomStables (Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) - Stable Trotters version (violin, whistle, viola, ukulele)Patti Rudisill2023-05-23 | Stables (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) Arranged and performed by Patti Rudisill
So for all of the BOTW tracks Iβve done over the years, Stables is still one I hadnβt done - mostly because it was so short and simple and really most of the charm was in the instrumentation - BUT! The new version with the addition of the music troupe in Tears of the Kingdom (and Epona's song) immediately stole my heart, starting from the moment I met Violynne π€£Β I mean how amazing is this character??? Anyway I quickly finished all of the musician side quests because I love them so much and I had to hear the final performance of Stables with all parts. I love how this quest is similar to Tarry Town where each new person brings a new layer to the song π₯²Β So I tried to structure my arrangement a bit in the same vein, with more instruments joining as it goes. Iβm still so obsessed with the new parts and harmonies that they added, it really puts such a fresh spin on an old classic and I really enjoyed putting this together β€οΈΒ

This is not a video I was planning to do (at ALL), but when the full version of the theme droppedβ¦.I admit it seemed too daunting to do but the theme grew on me so much and TOTK hype is reaching critical levels in my brain and I just couldnβt NOT do this one πΒ One of my most ambitious arrangements and mixes ever, and done in record time (I am exhausted LOL) BOTW was such a huge part of my life and this channel, so Iβve been looking forward to dropping everything when TOTK comes out for years now soβ¦.stay tuned π€£Β Make sure you got your notifications on because I anticipate a lot more to come in the next few weeks and months!!

This was an impromptu idea that came together so swiftly - Crimson Loftwing is one that has been requested a few times over the years, and while I liked it I wasnβt sure how I would want to approach itβ¦then some time ago I met Allison and had been trying to think of something I could collab with her on, when I suddenly remembered this track and thought it would be perfect. Fun fact(s): trombone is my FAVORITE brass instrument, I briefly played it in middle school, and I also wrote a few original concert pieces for trombone πΒ So I was psyched to work on this arrangement, only the second time Iβve ever featured brass on my channel! And Iβm so thrilled I was able to get Allison on board for this, make sure you check out her channel because she has some of the most creative arrangements and videos in VGM!

Y'all I am not even exaggerating when I say Harvestella was the most underrated game of 2022, I was on the fence about getting it but then easily dropped 100 hours on it and enjoyed every moment. And the SOUNDTRACK just takes it to another level, seriously I can't even with some of these tracks. So I'm thrilled to share this collab with the brilliant harpist Samantha Ballard - there's nothing better than collabing with someone who is just as obsessed with a new game as you are LOL, and when I found out she was planning to cover the Title Theme I asked if she might be interested in working together on a version with strings as well. Her arrangement really makes this one, I was just happy to throw some juicy string lines on top and had so much fun working on this :)

β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬ β β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬ So, sorrynotsorry that the next two videos are from two recent games that I feel were MASSIVELY overlooked, especially in regards to the soundtrack, and maybe it's now my mission to get people to play them π I was immediately interested in Triangle Strategy once it was announced, to be honest it was the first game I was really looking forward to in quite some time - and it came out once month before my baby was due so it was also kinda like my last game hurrah before my life turned upside down π€£ I was so glad I was able to squeeze it in, I think I must have put 60 hours or so into the first route?? I hope to get back to finish the others but with the upcoming release schedule it will probably be a while Iol
Anyway back to the music - I often don't listen to OSTs for new games if I plan to play them, because I want the full impact of hearing it in context and discovering as I go - so when this first track came on I stopped in my tracks and just....sat on the screen listening to it for a very long time π And I thought, of course, THIS is THE TRACK I have to play, I can't resist a sentimental waltz and this one is just too good. I honestly considered knocking it out that month, but thankfully came to my senses and knew it would be too stressful to attempt that haha....but it's been on my wishlist since then and I'm SO glad to finally share it with you all!

I'm back! Well....for this video at least π I definitely didn't mean to be so MIA this year, but getting back into the swing of things while taking care of a baby has been a huge adjustment and there just aren't enough hours in the day! This was one of the videos I started when SSHD came out, and pre-filmed way back in October 2021, but I didn't have enough time to finish editing it before going on my maternity leave. I have a few more pre-filmed videos still, though they are much larger projects and will take more time to finish. In the meantime I hope you all make sure to follow me on Spotify and other stores, because all of my releases are up for streaming or download on there as well! Thank you all so much for your support!

Fight Against Culex (Super Mario RPG) / Battle 2 (Final Fantasy IV) Music by Nobuo Uematsu. Arranged and performed by Patti Rudisill, with Andy-Ru and Rahul Vanamali
I'm so excited to share this one today! The first video I've filmed since having a baby! To be honest I'm not sure how regular my uploading will be for a bit, but since I still had this one left to film from my album and my collaborators had already gotten me their footage, I figured it would be easy enough to put out even with my time constraints right now π
Speaking of collaborators, I was so thrilled to work with Andy-Ru and Rahul Vanamali for the first time on this track, they did such an amazing job and really brought it to the next level! Make sure to check out their channels too :D Andy-Ru β youtube.com/c/AndyRu Rahul β youtube.com/c/RahulVanamali
Well, this one has been waiting to be done for such a long time now! Many years ago I worked on a chamber ensemble arrangement of this for a concert, and then later rearranged it for string quartet as a wedding commission...ever since then I knew it would be great to do it on the channel but since it's been so difficult to do live quartet recording the opportunity never presented itself. But then earlier last summer I picked up my old file of Twilight Princess again (after withdrawal from Skyward Sword lol) and it put this track back on my radar. I'm glad I was finally able to dust it off and make it happen with Israfelcello's help! Check out his channel here β youtube.com/c/IsrafelCello

Fleeting Words, from NieR Replicant Music by Keiichi Okabe. Arranged and performed by Patti Rudisill
As usual, this started out as a "quick and easy" cover I could do immediately after the game came out.....and somehow spiraled a bit out of control as always seems to happen when I write piano parts π In my efforts to make the piano part more interesting I really tried to lean into the drama of this material, of the story, even though it isn't necessarily reflected in the original version of this track. This game and story were so special to me, and I really enjoyed going above and beyond with the costuming and set as well, I hope you enjoy it β€οΈ

I can't believe it's already this time of year again!! This video is short but sweet, but I've been looking forward to releasing it ever since I filmed it last winter :) It doesn't snow much where I live so I never dreamed I would be able to do a music video in the snow, but last February we had that fluke snowstorm and got a little "snowdin" ourselves for a whole week π I had so much fun going out with the camera every day for B roll, and even freezing my hands off in 7 degree weather β οΈ (another reason why this video is so short haha, I'm lucky I was able to pull it off at all LOL) I hope you enjoy it, thanks for your support in 2021 and hope you have a happy new year!!

I have been waiting SO LONG for this one!! So back in 2018 PurpleSchala and I collabed on Promise of the World from Howl's Moving Castle, and since then it has inexplicably became my best performing track on Spotify EVER, and we kept saying we should do a follow up! While everything Ghibli is fantastic, Howl's Moving Castle is my personal favorite movie/score, and Merry Go Round of Life was on my wish list basically since I started my channel! This one was a lot more difficult to arrange than Promise (hence why it took us so long to finish hahaha) so I am so excited to finally share it with you all here!! It has been several months since I first played NieR Replicant, and it continues to have such a hold over me π.Especially the Shadowlord track, just hit so hard when I first heard it, especially given the context....I am a sucker for turning vocal chorales into string quartets since they always work SO well, and immediately put this one on my list of arrangements I had to do :D Took a little bit to finish it, but it worked out since I didn't have an elaborate video planned for Halloween this year and I figured this one was dark and moody enough to qualify π€£

So this is a bit later than intended, but we finally have another video π I was so enthralled by my playthrough of Skyward Sword HD, so much better than the first time through and absolutely magical for me...and when this theme came on my brain went, "oh this is nice....well, I really wish it wasn't midi strings lol - wait is thiS GROOSE'S THEME?? π€―" I joked to myself that I should cover this one for a bit before I finally was like, you know, what, actually yes LOL I really wish the original had live strings in it and my mind couldn't rest until I could hear it that way π€£ Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!
It's been a while since I've done anything besides VGM, so I hope you don't mind the brief departure for this one....the past few weeks have been very difficult for me with the situation in Cuba right now (this hits very close to home for me and my family), and it's been hard to focus on getting back to projects as usual. But then I had the idea to record this Cuban song, one that I've grown up with and played countless times, and post it here - working on this felt a bit therapeutic for me, and this music really means so much to me. I hope you enjoy this video β₯οΈ

Happy Skyward Sword release day!! I realized a bit too late how much I loved the SS version of Fairy Fountain (the GOAT IMO), and though I threw in a reference to it for my own medley of Fairy Fountain years ago, I always wanted to do the original just as is....so I thought it would be fun to throw together a quick version of the violin choir, and maybe I'll do a full version with a harpist eventually if you all want it π.

Who is excited for Skyward Sword HD?????? This was one of the only things I wanted from that Direct, as I loved the game when it came out but wished I could experience it again on a different console....Skyloft had also been on my list to cover for a long time, but since Skyward Sword music isn't licensable (rip), it was relegated to low priority....until now, haha! I really enjoyed getting to revisit this music in anticipation of the game's rerelease, and I hope you enjoy it!!

This was not a video I was planning to do, but I've recently started streaming FFXIII on twitch - playing for the first time! - and I couldn't get this track out of my head and had to arrange it immediately π I love the soaring melody up top, reminds me of something out of an opera and is such a joy to play!

#FFXIII #FF13 #VGMZeldas Lullaby - Violin & Piano + Sheet Music! Signature Artist PreviewPatti Rudisill2021-06-14 | Hi everyone! I teamed up with Musicnotes to create this new video and arrangement of Zelda's Lullaby, along with sheet music! You can find the full video on their Youtube channel, and sheet music for all of my VGM arrangements (that have been licensed so far!) on my Musicnotes artist page.
This...was not a cover I initially thought I would make π€£ I was planning to do something for the NieR Replicant release day (before I was even 100% sure I would play it) and then my schedule got too hectic and the arrangement took on a life of its own and I couldn't finish it in time....I fully intended to release it this month instead but then....I started playing THIS GAME.
I was already somewhat familiar with the original OST (it was a large reason I even wanted to play the game at all) but hearing the remastered OST with context, in game, hit me SO HARD and I just flew through this entire game in the span of two weeks π I also got at least a half dozen ideas of tracks I wanted to cover, so I've been working on a LOT of them simultaneously (that's why it took so long to even get one out lmao) Saying I have been living and breathing this music would be...an understatement LOL
Anyway this track though....I didn't even like it at first, I don't know why....but....when I say this is the theme is the one that made me cry the most times while playing, I MEAN IT π It is so emotionally charged and it was a real labor of love to make this work for string quartet in a way that does justice to the original....and I really hope you enjoy it π

The last video from my EP of winter VGM, Snowscapes! I didn't originally plan to do a video for this one, but since I had so much amazing footage left over from last year's snowfall I thought it would be a good way to use it :D I also originally planned this video for last month but, well, it's still Winter right? π€£ I've been juggling a lot lately with work and moving to a new house, so it was already a struggle to get this one out before packing up my computer and studio for a good amount of time....but I'm excited for a fresh start in a new space! And I also have a big announcement next month that you can look forward to ;)
Last year I did a highlight reel for 2019, and I had so much fun with it that I decided to do it again! I am definitely a person who enjoys introspection and reflecting on past goals and accomplishments every year - and I think, especially in 2020, it is important to look back on the things we actually were able to accomplish this year in spite of all the setbacks, failures, and impossible circumstances. I had a lot of big plans for 2020 (bucket list album, booking studio time to record live with other musicians, and more) that all had to be trashed once the pandemic hit...and it's easy to focus on that, but looking at this reel I was overwhelmed to see how much I WAS able to do this year after all! Granted, a lot of it was because of some really intense pre-planning (harp and outdoor vids were mostly filmed in October-Dec 2019, lots of videos from my December album so they were already in the pipeline) but I'm still really proud of everything I was able to do. It was a whirlwind of a year but here are some highlights:
- The year of Final Fantasy! Because of my album and anticipation for FF7R, this was the bulk of my output this year π€£ - Best year for outdoor videos! I even traveled to Miami beach for one of them :) - Best year for cosplay videos?? And super colorful vids overall - I made a fake fireplace in my office.....seriously, I don't even know how I managed to pull off the Buried in Snow set LOL - EPIC collabs with PurpleSchala and co, including Apex of the World the highlight of my year (and I edited the video for this one!), Xenoblade Main Theme, and lots more still to come!
Have a Happy New Year everyone, let's hope for a much better 2021!! :D

I was a bit worried I wouldn't have time to do a festive Winter VGM tune this year, but I'm so glad I was able to! This one has been on my wish list to do for the past few Decembers, the quintessential Christmas VGM song :D Hope you enjoy it!

Who else is excited for Age of Calamity???? I have been SO hype ever since they announced this game, and even more so after the demo - you all know how much BOTW consumed my life (and channel lol) when it first came out, and I couldnβt wait to dive back into that world :D (Actually funny story, but I loved BOTW so much I played for 100 hours and couldnβt bear to finish off the Divine Beasts and end it, so I only picked it up again and finally beat the game THIS WEEK hahaha, but I love that I got to revisit it again in anticipation of AoC and eventually BOTW2!!)
I figured it would be amazing to do another BOTW tune for this release, and what would be more appropriate than one of the Champion themes :D This one has been on my list for a while but when I finally decided to do it everything came together so quickly - I hope you enjoy it!

I donβt even know where to start with this one - letβs just say I finally picked up my abandoned FFX save file to finally finish this game earlier this year andβ¦.THIS TRACK instantly gripped me and I knew I had to do it. An odd choice I guess, but I love to pick the deep cuts from well known games π Seymour is such an interesting character, and I knew this one would have sooo much creepy Halloween potential π Thank goodness I just got a new computer because itβs easily my largest project so far (160+ audio tracks! More than double what I did for Light of the Seven β οΈ) and definitely my most ambitious conceptually and visually. I really hope it creeps you out as much as it did me while making this π π π

Another Xenoblade video in what will surely be many more to come (sorry not sorry), featuring two of my absolutely favorite people to work with - PurpleSchala and IsrafelCello π π π
When Ruby approached me about doing this one, I was on board immediately as I knew it would be absolutely perfect for the three of us to do (and the thought of covering this one did cross my mind the moment I heard it in game π ) We based it on the DE version (since there were a few changes from the original), but otherwise tried to keep it very faithful since the original track is so gorgeous....also I decided not to include any game footage since it would 100% be spoilery, so please enjoy the thematically appropriate palm trees and beachy landscapes π€£ π€£ π€£
Speaking of, PLEASE NO SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS - I know this is a 10 year old game, but lots of people are now discovering it for the first time (like me!) so letβs let them enjoy this masterpiece as we did :)

Itβs a big day today! I wanted to do something special to celebrate my YouTube anniversary this year (coming up next week!) so I thought it would be fun to do our first ever remake of an older video! Our 2014 version of Dire, Dire Docks is still one of the most popular videos on my channel, which I always felt mixed about since the audio & video recording quality were just SO terrible π I always wanted to at least re-record it someday, and when Paula and I started working on our album I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to finally do it justice!
Initially I wanted to shoot this one at an aquarium, or by a lake, but trying to do that with the harp wasnβt really practical or possible :-/ So we just filmed the harp indoors, and I filmed my own parts out by the lake (In retrospect, it ended up being the brightest, hottest, most uncomfortable experience so I was so glad we didnβt go through with trying to get a harp out there π€£ π€£ π€£ Also, special thanks to IsrafelCello for his help filming me at the lake!!)
All the nature footage came from trips to the local aquariums here - I was able to get so much good stuff so hopefully I can think of some other water themed vids for the future haha!
Also, I mentioned I had wanted to do this for my YT anniversary event, but weβre also going to have my first ever LIVESTREAM to celebrate next week! Most likely on Sunday Sept 6 since thatβs the actual anniversary date, but Iβll keep you posted :D Weβre celebrating 7 years (!!) on YouTube with some Q&A, weβll watch some old videos, and just have a fun time hanging out! Iβve been working REALLY hard to get a good stream set up together and Iβm so excited :D :D :D

βIβm glad...Iβm on timeβ π π π π π
I donβt even know where to start with this one - I played Xenoblade for the first time last month when the Definitive Edition came out and I have **never** been so thoroughly engrossed in a game or finished one so quickly. SERIOUSLY EVEN MORE THAN FIRE EMBLEM. The soundtrack is god tier level and you can bet I have stuff planned for this channel - but of all the ones I want to do, this one seemed the most appropriate to start. The first track that grabbed me while playing, and the one that accompanies some of the most emotional moments of this game (I literally cried while filming thisβ¦..)
This is one of the most difficult arrangements/mixes Iβve had to do - the original is so grand and sweeping that I wasnβt sure if a chamber arrangement would cut itβ¦.because it is so string heavy I initially thought I would take the Edge of Dawn approach, string trio plus piano to fill in the rest, but it became clear pretty quickly that this theme was going to require more than that. I learned a ton of new tricks while working on this one, and did my best to do justice to the magnificence of the original π
Also, PLEASE NO SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS - I know this is a 10 year old game, but lots of people are now discovering it for the first time (like me!) so letβs let them enjoy this masterpiece as we did :)
#Xenoblade #XenobladeChronicles #XCDECosta del Sol (Final Fantasy VII) - Violin coverPatti Rudisill2020-07-18 | Costa del Sol (Final Fantasy VII) - Violin Cover Music by Nobuo Uematsu. Arranged and performed by Patti Rudisill
Ok I promise this is the last one from FFVII for a while (most of this was unintentional, but with the release of the remake I decided to embrace it π) The story of this video actually started in April of 2019, when I took a short beach vacation and couldn't get Costa del Sol out of my head the entire time I was there - I also got about 50gb worth of amazing beachy B roll, so immediately I started to wonder how I could use it in future videos! The idea of doing Costa del Sol seemed so painfully obvious, though I wasn't sure how I could do it in a non-cliche way, and also wasn't sure if it would be worth it to do it when I couldn't also film the violin on the beach.....and then December hit and I was supremely burnt out and exhausted so I decided to take a last minute trip to visit my family, and maybe film on the beach while I was there (because if I was going to film on the beach, December would be the best chance at not being a sweaty mess while doing it LOL)
The weather forecast in FL is basically useless, so we kept changing the plan on when to film until the very last minute, praying we wouldn't get rained out (and also hoping the crowds would be manageable, and I wouldn't get kicked out - haha!) Huge props to my mom for doing an amazing job filming this even though she had never worked a DSLR before (and also for making sure our shots were free of people in the background!!) In the end, this was the best lighting and temperature I will probably ever have for an outdoor video, I couldn't be happier with the footage and it's surely all downhill from here π€£ Also considering the state of the world, I am super glad I filmed this video when I did, because who knows when I will get another chance to film a video like this again π π π I only have 1 more pre-filmed outdoor video left in my backlog, so I hope you enjoy these! π€£π€£π€£

#KingdomHearts #DearlyBelovedThe Last Of Us: Main Theme - Violin and Charango coverPatti Rudisill2020-06-19 | The Last of Us: Main Theme - Violin and Charango cover Music by Gustavo Santaolalla. Arranged for violin & charango by Patti Rudisill
This video has been SUCH a long time comingβ¦.probably ever since I first put together my Ellie cosplay for a MAGFest many years ago π Back then I didnβt really know how I could make this track my own, it was so far from my usual style, so I decided to let it go. Fast forward to about a year and a half ago when I was visiting my parents and messing around with my momβs most unique instrument, the charango - while trying to figure out something to play on it I discovered that the main theme of TLOU was actually performed on the Ronroco, a larger cousin to the charango but with identical tuning (just pitched lower) Since the new game was coming out I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use this instrument and finally cover this theme!
The live instrumentation of this cover is entirely violin and charango (plus sample instruments) - if youβre wondering about some of the unique sounds, I utilized a lot of non traditional violin techniques, like chopping, ponticello (playing close to the bridge), playing behind the bridge, tapping on the strings with a wooden dowel, and other string scraping sounds (also lots of pizzicato in the soaring section). I also threw in a cadenza towards the end because...why not π
Also FYI, I did change the key because of the charangoβs tuning - it is pitched a fourth higher than the original ronroco, so that put this in A minor instead of Em...Am is also one of the greatest keys for utilizing the violin range, harmonics, and open strings, so it was actually perfect and allowed me to do all the pyrotechnics in the cadenza that wouldnβt have been possible otherwise!
As far as the video - I had SUCH high hopes for this one, since I had been planning it so long - I was gonna film in an abandoned airpark but then the pandemic hit (the irony of this, with this game, is not lost on me)...So I ended up having to film alone in my backyard (hence the not great quality of a lot of those shots) but I was also able to get some great desolate shots of my city during quarantine - everything was still basically closed up (parks were open though) so I didnβt see a single person while I was out filming - so not to worry, this was probably the most Iβve even been outside of my house since quarantine happened, Iβve been very safe and hiding out inside π
#TLOU #TLOU2 #TheLastofUsJessieβs Theme (FFVII Remake) - Violin & PianoPatti Rudisill2020-05-29 | Jessieβs Theme, from Final Fantasy VII Remake Music by Masashi Hamauzu. Arranged for violin and piano by Patti Rudisill
A sentimental and emotional tribute to our girl Jessie! This is also my entry for the Soundole ChillOut 2020 Challenge - Iβve never entered one before so I had a lot of fun working on this :D
After doing cosplay videos of Aerith and Tifaβs Themes, it seemed only fitting that do one for Jessie as well - I absolutely love what they did with her character in the Remake, and how Erica Lindbeck brought her to life! I had a lot of fun trying to figure out the best way to cosplay her, considering how difficult her outfit design is. I left out armor because it really wouldnβt work practically with the violin, plus I think it shows a softer side of her without it :) For the video, my idea was to use my curtain to signify a theater (with the signature Mako green lights that are everywhere in Midgar), since our Jessie loves the limelight and was always meant to be on stage β€οΈ And because the other most memorable parts of her chapter are pizza and random cats, I made sure to add that in as well π
Since the original theme is piano and guitar I felt it would be a great opportunity to turn it into a solo violin and piano feature, really leaning into the emotional aspects of the theme and Jessieβs character. Surprisingly, this is also the most I have ever deviated from the source material in any of my FF7 covers, but since the entire Remake soundtrack is about creatively reimagining the original tracks, I figured why not do the same to this theme, especially since it wasnβt even in the original game ;) This is one of the rare times I have done a multi tracked arrangement with a free rubato click like this, which let me tell you, is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to coordinate, but in the end I was able to perform it as freely as I would with a live piano so I definitely think it was worth is so the music could really breathe :)
This is also one of the most programmatic arrangements Iβve done, but as this is a new game (even if you played OG, there are changes in the Remake) I will stick that all behind a big spoiler warningβ¦.
**SPOILERS** DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENβT * F.I.N.I.S.H.E.D.* FF7R ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I really tried to represent Jessieβs character here - Jessie is playful, surprising, dramatic, and passionate! I tried to reflect that in the nuances of my playing, but also in the arrangement. The original theme is pretty chill, and I knew adding violin would already make the theme more emotional (just the nature of a sustained instrument) so I decided to lean hard into that. First time through the theme is (as usual) pretty true to original, but then it takes some unexpected turns - bolder mood shifts in the first section, a more sentimental reharmonized chorale, and the dramatic buildup to an unexpected break before the final section...then also extending the final phrase for dramatic effect, with some unapologetically sentimental and indulgent harmonies (lmao) I thought I heard a bit of the Avalanche theme referenced in the tail end of the original, so I tried to add that more obviously into the piano part at the end here. We also land on a bit of an unresolved note, which initially (when I was writing this and hadnβt yet finished the game) was to signify her life cut short - but after watching the ending, maybe she is still alive?? WE DONβT KNOW, and all the more reason to leave her theme unresolved, hanging on a single note of hope, until we find out in the next game :SOBS:

This is one of my favorites from the Chrono Cross soundtrack, and one of the first ones I knew I wanted to include on our harp + strings album :D I havenβt played the entirety of Chrono Cross the game, and Iβm sure it is more beachy themed than spring time - but I thought given the time of year, and the nature of the music, that it would work really well for this one...back when I was getting all of this peaceful spring time and butterfly footage, I knew I wanted to use it for this video because it would fit the serene vibe so well. Hope you agree!
So excited to share that SHEET MUSIC is available for this one!! I get a lot of requests for sheets but it is super rare that I can legally license any of my arrangements (VGM is notoriously difficult to license) but it seems that Chrono Cross sheets are now a possibility! Iβll see what other CC arrangements I have that I might be able to finally release next :D
