Charlie Barkins Run Cycles Ozark Howling Wolf 2019-11-20 | These cycles were made for an elective class at my college. There are four different renders. The top left is traditional on paper, the top right is digitally colored traditional, bottom left is paper puppet, and bottom right is Flash/ Digital.I chose to animate Charlie Barkins because the movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven" was a major inspiration for me as an animator. I wanted to see if it was possible to make cel animation using things you find around the house. While this was a fun experiment, I wouldn't recommend it for large projects. The sandwich bags tend to glare and the backgrounds need to be light if your going with the sharpie approach to coloring. Overall, I had a lot of fun making the video. It's the first time that I've animated on ones in a long while, and it felt refreshing for the fur movement to be so smooth. Balto Reanimated Part 8 Ozark Howling Wolf 2019-01-13 | I had a lot of fun animating this part. I first learned how to animate because of this movie. I had a VHS copy and used to freeze frame it and recreate the run cycles. As you may have noticed, there is an endcard on this video. It's something I'm trying out this year. This animation has been done since August. I was originally going to post it for my 500 Sub special, but I reached 500 about a month before it was done. This has been in animation limbo for quite some time now. I've been debating whether or not to upload. I'm very happy with it, but also a bit concerned with myself for bringing it to fruition. I tested out gradient shading for this part, which is new to me. I also messed around with color correction in after effects to give the part more of a "dusk" or "late evening" feeling.
