There's something we are starting to see in modern games that probably looks absurdly fantastical to most of us, but is actually... quite real. It has just been hidden away for most of us...
This little video was a bit of a passion project for me, an idea I've wanted to explore for a while, hope y'all enjoy it.
This explores the ironic evolution of the night sky in video games, in contrast with the night in our real lives. Video games can now display a sky so full of stars, that it could appear fantastical to those of us who may have ever truly seen a natural and pristine night sky, due to the impacts of light pollution.
Seeing the night sky in its full clarity is something I hope you'll go see, it is a profound and awe inspiring experience for sure. In the meantime... remember to look up, even in games.

Video, dialogue and sfx from God of War Ragnorak (by Santa Monica Studio). Music (by Bear McCreary) also from in game, and snippets from following tracks in the game's score: "Asgard", "Pull of the Light" and "Letting Go". Edited by sdk.

Music in this video is the actual music played in-game during those scenes, sometimes with dialogue and effects turned down for focus. (With the exception of highlighting specific character themes in the beginning which use short snippets from the OST.) This beautiful score is by Bear McCreary. God of War is made by Santa Monica Studio.
This video focuses on how and when to parry, but just a reminder here are the types of attacks, and which can be parried:
No Rings : Can be parried, dodged and blocked.
Yellow Ring : Can be parried, dodged but blocking will break your guard and stun you.
Red Ring : Can only be dodged.
Blue Rings : You must interrupt it in order to avoid damage (shield strike with double tap L1).
So you can only parry No Rings and Yellow Rings. You can parry projectiles and melee attacks, regardless of how large the enemy is!

Ghost of Tsushima is a video game made by Sucker Punch Productions, available on Playstation.
Huge thanks for GhostBushi (youtube.com/user/RedHotChinaman), BozQ (youtube.com/channel/UCIMJIhTiKoxrXv05t-ZmgBg) and Drakewolf (youtube.com/c/AdamDrakewolf) for helping me learn the jump up to blue totem, took me forever to learn it, but they helped a ton.
This assumes you are using the swiping method: Hold triangle, then swipe Triangle and Circle together twice, and on the 3rd swipe, only hit Circle. Then repeat. Though the timing applies to other methods as well.
To practice, go into a map solo (without matchmaking) and find a place away from enemies. Swipe along to the sounds and rhythm of this video. This is a medium timing to start easy. Once you get it consistently, try it without the video, and then try to go a bit faster.
Good luck!
