I also have several friends born in December, as well as my husband and myself, so this is the extra hot season for me. I start preparing gifts in advance. Here is my new and relatively easy tutorial on a gift set I made of the "Vintage Chic" collection by Craft O´Clock. I made a card, a gift tag and two parking clocks for my girls who drive cars. In big cities we need these parking clocks to identify the start of the parking time of the car.The card and the tag are mixed media - I made the background using silver glitter 3D gel and an ink spray. Such a lovely addition to the delicate patterned paper. You can practice your techniques or test out the new artistic supplies on the pages of an art journal, and then decide wether you will show it to the public or keep private to yourself. Perfect kind of a creative diary, don´t you think? I am not much of a hiker, but I admire those brave sporty people who do hiking or mountain trekking, sleep in tents and tell stories by the bonfire. Conservation of the icon of Archangel Gabriel / Estonia´s Conservation project of the year laureate Maria Lillepruun 2021-10-25 | The door to the iconostasis with the image of “Archangel Gabriel” from Kuriste Church on Estonian Hiiumaa island arrived at the Kanut Conservation and Digitization Center in 2019 in catastrophic condition, being very severely damaged by insects. One and a half years of conservation and restoration required conservators not only to know the material and have the right manual skills, but also a lot of ingenuity and openness to innovative solutions. The choice of the conservation technique, which led to an excellent result, was based on many practical experiments. This method was probably applied on such object for the first time in Estonia. The conserved icon belongs nowadays to the collection of Hiiumaa Museum. It is a relatively easy tutorial on a set of different rosette toppers for my daughter´s birthday cake! I hope you will find the new video useful.I decide to use the "Time of Reflection" paper pad by Craft O´Clock. The tender girly design of these papers suited well my idea for the subtle pink decoration of the selfmade chocolate cake. In the end, the toppers were more popular among her friends than the cake itself :) I used 30x30 paper for my work, but in case you would like to do something like this on your own, I would recommend 20x20 and 20x30 cm Craft O´Clock´s paper pads, because they are thinner than the large paper pads. Mixed media notebook cover tutorial Maria Lillepruun 2021-01-07 | Welcome to Maria Lillepruun´s channel!#mixedmedia #tutorial #stepbystep BASIC PROCESSI took a handmade journal, which I planned to use as my art journal, and covered its cardstock cover with black gesso. Then I attached the chipboard wings and the head figurine to the front cover. The chipboard is easily glued with gesso, the figurine is attached with a thick layer of PVA.Then, I applied the texture to the cover, using the black texture paste and the stencil.After everything was dry, I added some shades of color and shimmer to the cover, using Lindy´s Gang sprays.Later, I covered some parts of the cover with gilding glue and attached some gold foil here and there.
