It evokes the '50s with its ultra-feminine style. Some might call it vintage, but to me, this cut is timeless.I made a few modifications to the original pattern. I eliminated the back zipper, widened the waistband to 6 cm (2,5''), and hid the elastic band under the rib knit fabric. Folds, gathers, and extra-large pockets on the sides add fullness to the skirt, while a stiffer, more prominent waistband accentuates the waistline. With this contrast between the hips and waist, the combination of the skirt's lightweight fabric, and the waistband's heavier fabric, I tried to follow the spirit of the charming looks of those times. It doesn't matter what body shape you have - in the style of the '50s, you'll always have that wasp waist look.I don't really like pairing this skirt with a T-shirt.
