Luke was on a fast track toward death until the Lord intervened and saved his life. After many years of drug abuse, running from the law, and alcoholism Luke decided he was ready to die. After being cut off on the interstate and a high-speed chase, he pointed the nose of his truck toward the other vehicle and attempted to ram them off of a bridge. He heard the Lord say to him "This is not the plan I have for you, it's time for you to go." He put his truck in reverse and a few hours later stopped using drugs and surrendered his life completely to the Lord.

Anonymous-Drama contains elements of both ‘Psycho-Drama’ and also ‘Drama-Therapy’ but the main difference is that all of the work is done ‘in character’ using fiction by proxy as a safety net making the environment less emotionally charged or triggering.

Jeff came from a small town in southern Oregon. He has always loved outdoor activities like fishing, BMX, motorcycles, and baseball. At a young age, Jeff realized he needed to leave his hometown behind. He joined the Marine Corps and went to college. He became the first person in his extended family to attend college, and everyone had high hopes for his future, expecting him to land a big job and do something significant.
But his heart was drawn to martial arts, and he distinctly remembers telling himself that if he could earn just 30k a year doing what he was passionate about, it would be more fulfilling than making 100k sitting behind a desk, doing something that didn't resonate with him. One of his old teachers used to emphasize, "You want to make a life, not just a living." He's grateful that he followed this advice because it led him down a path that truly fulfilled him.
After teaching 25,000 students in his martial arts academy and earning the equivalent of black belts in the martial arts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Eskrima, Tai Chi, Qigong, Muay Thai, and Kenpō, Jeff now shares personal experiences, age-old wisdom, and the philosophies of meditative arts with his readers and students.

Join me, Jason LaChance host of the Knockin' Doorz Down Podcast & certified addiction recovery coach, and mental health advocate for my sit down with my father Rene LaChance.
This conversation was recorded around Christmas of 2022. It is by far the most personal and most difficult conversation I have ever had on the podcast. Recently celebrating 3 years of continual sobriety I finally felt in a place to be able to share this episode.
You will hear the various traumas that my father went through which include mental, emotional, and sexual abuse which led to my father living on his own at the age of 14. His mother and father both had various issues around codependency and sexual addiction and his mother struggled with medication. My dad lost his brother, my uncle, due to overmedicating and passing out, his lit cigarette caught his home on fire.
My dad and my mom married when he was only 17, and eventually, when his brain matured around 26, issues started to arise. Now sober for over 20 years my dad wanted to share his journey offering hope to others that they can overcome whatever adversity they've faced.
We discuss the following and more.
Intro 00:00
How did generational trauma play out in our family? 2:40
Getting Married At 17? 10:54
Working Hard Is All I knew, I was alone at 14. 28:17
