I recorded it on tape by holding my casette recorder next to the TV speakers and then i played it on walkman.. over and over and over...Fast forward to 2018: with today's technologies i can isolate the vocals,drop in some samples, an 809 and 909 and remix the shit out of it. So that's what i do :) First part is the original, second is my remix.Just a quicky, for fun. Oldskool hiphop ftw.
Ableton house classics Remake Compilation (full videos in description) statenhal 2018-05-31 | A compilation of every Ableton remake i have done in the past several years. The goal with each remake was always the same: reproduce the track as authentic as possible, where possible using the same synths (in their VST equivalent) and sample sources used by the original producers, without using any samples from the track itself. Some attempts succeeded, some not so. There are some remakes that i never completed, and some that i never posted before. DJ Dextrous - Time To Move [Ableton Remake] statenhal 2017-07-16 | Quick remake of a track from Suburban Base, 1994. It is a not very well known track, but it happened to be one of my favs because of the rolling breaks and the basslines, so wanted to give it a try. It's fairly easy to do once you know the right samples. Bassline recreated with a solid bass. I only recreated the middle part as it contains all the elements.
Edge Of Motion - Set Up 707 [Ableton Remake] statenhal 2017-06-07 | Remake attempt in Ableton Live of a well known oldskool hardcore acid stomper from 1992 from Miss Djax's label, produced by Dylan Hermelijn aka EDGE OF MOTION - SET UP ̶9̶0̶9̶ 707I used only 2 VSTs - a 909 and a 303 (2 instances), both from D16 Group Audio Software. Plus a whole lot of saturation :)Since the track just repeats itself for 6 minutes with slightly different drum patterns, i only covered the first 3 minutes.
