Vex + Vax - Little Bit of Love Sopphires 2023-08-08 | Wow, after over a year and a half, I have finally finished an edit that is not in someway studio related. I've been starting things and losing inspiration to finish or just not thinking they're any good. This took about 5 months for me to finally get it done, and I'm pretty happy with the end result. I love these two to death, they have very quickly become some of my favourite fictional siblings in all of media, and that plus the very intense LoVM/CR brainrot I've been having in 2023, is the only reason this got finished. Jayce/Viktor & Catilyn/Vi - Berenstein Sopphires 2021-11-25 | Jayce/Viktor & Caitlyn/Vi from Arcane to 'Berenstein' by The Band Camino. Well, I am very surprised that I have finished an edit whilst a show is still relevant. I am also very surprised that I loved Arcane as much as I did because I know nothing about League, but angrypotato's Viktor and Jayce edit got me curious, and I kept hearing the animation was great, so I stuck it on in the back when I was writing, and then I binged it all in one day, and now I love all the characters and this world and can't wait for season 2. Anyway, this is very raw, but hopefully it looks okay. I've been editing this every available moment for the past few days because I really loved the dynamics of these relationships over the course of the season and needed to edit the angst. Really thought the angst would be more extreme with Viktor and Jayce, totally thought Viktor was going to become an evil scientist by the end, and that they'd be enemies. The song was basically blocked worldwide, and I had to slow this cover to get it to fit because all the covers of the song were shorter than the original song somehow? Anyway, I listened to this audiobook last week, and I absolutely loved it. I started re-listening to it straight away and wanted to edit it, and this song is perfect. The premise is basically, what if the son of the American president fell in love with a prince of England, and it's a really good ride. It's more optimistic than I would be about this turning out well in real life, but I'd also have been so sad if it ended badly so I can't complain. Anyway, I really recommend the book, especially if you're interested in a LGBT+ romance, and please check out the wonderful artists! Emma - You Are Loved Sopphires 2021-03-06 | Manga spoilers from The Promised Neverland (maybe??). A variety of Emma-centric relationships from The Promised Neverland to 'You Are Loved' by Stars Go Dim. My Fridays recently have been being hyped about Wandavision and then being disappointed by the Promised Neverland season 2. So naturally, I edited TPN first. I was actually anime only for this show, I loved season 1, but I didn't go read the manga because I tend to just stick with whatever medium I first encounter the series in. But I started getting bad vibes from season 2 around episode 3, which got worse after episode 4, and then Norman showed up in episode 5, and it was just so anticlimactic and wrong, so I went and binge read the manga twice in, like, two weeks, and now I'm sad about the anime. I'm just so baffled about the anime. Like they cut so much, and then they just picked back up and are basically adapting the manga, but the context is different, so none of it hits the same. It's just so bizarre. I keep waiting for the moment where their decision to make changes hits and makes sense, and it just hasn't come, and with only three episodes left, I cannot see how they can possibly wrap this show up satisfyingly. The manga isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than this, and Goldypond (which they cut) is the best arc after the Gracefield House/Escape arc. Also it has Yugo, who fits my favourite tropes of having a redemption arc and regains his hope and becomes a father figure to the kids. I am so glad I read the manga after seeing the anime because I would have been so gutted for him being cut. Anyway, I have rambled for too long, I've just had a lot of thoughts about this series bouncing around inside my head for several weeks. I got spoiled for what was going to happen a few weeks in advance (largely because I was making this video, and I was Googling for Sasha scenes), and I spent them trying to convince myself that it wasn't true because I love Sasha so much. I didn't even know I was super attached to her and this trio in general until season 3 came out, and I suddenly realised that there were no dispensable characters anymore. I had a horrible feeling that something might happen to her or Connie (please no manga spoilers!) because they seemed like the least plot relevant characters left, but still, I was not ready for this. In a way, I'm kind of glad for the spoiler so it didn't hit me out of nowhere. I'm glad I started this video before the fourth season aired, and I started re-watching the series and loved every second of these three. Anyway, I have absolutely loved this season so much! It's been amazing, and I love that they put me in a situation where one of my favourite characters is killed, but I can't even be mad at the person that killed her because Gabi is just Eren from season 1. You know exactly where she's coming from, and I love that the narrative puts you in this bind. I'm so excited for where this is going. Both the season 4 things that got spoiled for me so far (Sasha and Zeke) happened in episode 8, so I'm going in for the rest of this blind, and I'm so excited! Also, apologise for the audio editing. I did it myself, and it comes out slightly different when I play it on a media player in my laptop to when I upload it to Youtube, so this is actually the third or so version I've uploaded, and I've decided to settle for this quality. Jaime/Brienne - Half Light Sopphires 2020-12-13 | A Jaime/Brienne edit to 'Half Light' by BANNERS. I enjoy it when I surprise myself with what I edit next, but basically PokeLSouma did a YPIV to this song, and I just could not get it out of my head, and I thought it was perfect for the ending that the show decided to give these two. These two have been on my brain recently because I watch a lot of video essays when I edit and finally got around to watching Lindsay Ellis' videos on Game of Thrones, which I didn't watch at the time because I'd marinated in anymore salt over how the series ended I probably would have died, which reignited a lot of feelings. Anyway, I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. It was really easy to edit, and I basically made it in two days. Live action is normally a lot harder for me, so that was nice. Yamaguchi + Shimada - Stand By You [4x15] Sopphires 2020-10-25 | Small Yamaguchi and Shimada edit to 'Stand By You' by Rachel Platten because their friendship is high-key underrated, and I am still emotional about this episode. Yamaguchi is my absolute favourite character in Haikyuu. His struggle against his anxiety just hits me on a personal level, and his character arc is well written, and the fact that Shimada is there not just teaching him volleyball but techniques on how to control his anxiety even though he has no obligation to?? Amazing. I apologise for the editing being a little janky in places. I didn't touch Vegas for over a month due to laptop issues that ended in me having to get a new one, so I had to shake off some editing rust initially. I'm fully back in the swing of things now, though, and I've been blasting through MEP parts because I was very behind. Hopefully I'll edit some more Haikyuu as I've been loving this half of the season and all the love that it's been giving to the side characters. Enjoy!
Bow + Adora & Kipo + Benson - Umbrella Sopphires 2020-09-05 | Short edit I made celebrating some underrated friendships: Bow and Adora (She Ra) and Kipo and Benson (Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts) that I also ended up using as a means to learn Twixtor. I still don't really know how it works, and if it looks janky in the Kipo section it's because I made it, like, a a few weeks after I made the Bow and Adora bit, and I'd completely forgotten anything that I'd learnt. Anyway, Bow and Adora's friendship is criminally underrated, and there should be more content with them. They are my favourite (platonic) dynamic in the Best Friend Squad. I also really, really love Kipo and Benson's friendship as well, and I couldn't find anything that focused on the two of them. All the friendships in Kipo are really good, and I kind of wanted to include Benson and Wolf too, but I would never have finished it if I looped it again. I'll have to edit them at some point in the future when I'm able to again.
Karasuno - Underdog Sopphires 2020-08-29 | As expected, I did manage to finish other edits before I put my laptop in for repair. This one's Karasuno with 'Underdog' by The Script. I absolutely love Haikyuu!!, and since lockdown, I've been watching and rewatching it, and it's now my favourite anime. It's kind of become my emotional support anime because the characters are so lovable, and it's really inspiring and uplifting. Like I can never get tired of watching these characters grow and overcome their difficulties and problems, it makes me feel like I can too. XD I've been dying to edit Haikyuu for ages, and when I heard this song, I got super inspired. There are parts of it that are a little shaky (like the sfx, that part took forever), but I really wanted to just be able to finish something. By the time this goes live, I won't have my laptop anymore, but the first few days I was on leave, all the editing inspiration that had been eluding me came in droves, so instead of uploading them all in a couple of days, I thought I'd use the scheduling functions on Youtube for once and spread this and the other edit I finished over the next fortnight.
Billy/Teddy - Kiss Me Slowly Sopphires 2020-08-22 | A Billy/Teddy edit to 'Kiss Me Slowly' by Parachute. Okay, so I have no idea what is actually happening in Empyre, but I've been keeping an eye out to see if it produces good Billy/Teddy content, and oh boy did it deliver! Billy/Teddy (and the general, unabashed queerness of the Young Avengers) mean a lot to me, so you better believe that I freaked out and was super happy that they've finally made good on the end of Children's Crusade and they got married! Also, this is the easiest editing has been for me in a while. I started this yesterday straight after work at 5:00 because I was so inspired, and I had it done in a day, and I really like how it turned out! I've also been wanting to edit this song for ages with these two (I think I even started one back when I had my old editing software), but recently I've always baulked at it because I felt like it needed a soft style and tasteful overlays, and I don't know how to do that. (I think they turned out alright. They might be too much? Rapunzel - Looking Up [non/disney favourite character contest] Sopphires 2020-07-26 | My entry for DannyPhantomSG1's non/Disney favourite character contest using Rapunzel from Tangled to 'Looking Up' by SafetySuit. I originally showed up to see if I could edit my boy Miles because I've seen him in non/disney edits, and I feel comfortable with the idea of editing Marvel, but he was already taken, and I thought it'd be fun to enter, so I decided to edit my favourite Disney princess instead. I felt a bit nervous editing Disney given I don't normally do that, and the non/disney community is so talented it's kind of intimidating, but I'm super happy with how this turned out. I also managed to finish this and achieve my one goal: having fun and not getting stressed! Me being me, I am amazed that I finished this with five days to spare before the deadline, and I switched songs multiple times and didn't start really editing about two weeks ago even though I've had, like, two months. I only made a major breakthrough on Tuesday, and I was feeling very proud of being productive until I found an email in my spam on Wednesday that told me I should have been at a webinar about the grad scheme I just got on so... thankfully it wasn't compulsory, and they emailed round a recording. Anyway, Tangled is one of my favourite Disney movies, and Rapunzel is my favourite Disney princess, although I think it was the animated series that pushed her above Belle. I'm not really good at character studies or anything like that, so I ended up just picking a song that I thought fit her personality and what I like about her. I have types of favourite characters: angsty people that need redemption arcs, people with anxiety/mental health problems and balls of sunshine who are positive forces of good in the world. Rapunzel is the latter, and I just admire her optimism, her unwavering drive and how she brings out the best in others. I don't think the edit really showcases this, but I just thought the song embodied her overall spirit. Enjoy!

MultiLGBTQA+ BAME characters - Perfect Colour Sopphires 2020-06-14 | A tribute to fellow LGBTQA+ BAME people to 'Perfect Colour' by SafetySuit. (For context, because I think it's a British term, BAME stands for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic. It's not a perfect term, but I spent ages thinking about it and couldn't think of a better way to title this, so we're going with that.) I've actually been intending to make something like this since, I think, April, now, when it was becoming abundantly clear that BAME people in the UK/America/probably Europe were dying at disproportionate rate to white people, and since then that's only become more relevant. Then, since I didn't get round to this til June, I thought I'd roll it into a Pride edit as well given the ethos is the same: that all lives are equal. Catra - See You [5 day IC] Sopphires 2020-06-07 | A Catra edit to 'See You' by Thriving Ivory, which I did for an IC with Hatter and a couple of others. We had from about Tuesday night through to 10pm eastern time today, which is sometime past when I need to go to bed so I'm functional for work, so I think that's about 5 days? I've never done an IC before, and I had so much fun editing this, I'm so glad this song got accidentally dropped in the chat and won the vote because it screamed Catra at me the moment I heard it and let me smash through the editing block I've been having! It also confirms my theory that I can't get anything done unless I have a deadline. Also, editing She Ra right now is therapeutic. This one made lockdown go a lot quicker now that I have work to do, although it means much less time for editing, and quite a lot less inspiration, which kinda shows in some of these parts, but She Ra has made me want to edit lots again, and I'm excited for Pride month! I have known Hawks for all of two episodes, and I already love him. I'm anime only, but I've seen some out of context manga spoilers on Instagram, and I'm both excited and terrified for what's coming with his character. Also, I have never been more invested in a fan theory than the Dabi-is-a-Todoroki theory, and I want it to be true so badly. 5. I had to last minute switch my second part from Clint to Marc just to get it done, and somehow that worked, even though I've never read a Moon Knight comic and only have a vague understanding of the character! Glimmer/Bow - Can we forgive and forget? Sopphires 2020-05-26 | Spoilers for She-Ra Season 5! (Is that still necessary?) I'm still pretty shook by season 5, even after over a week, because it was everything, so I'll start with, yes, this song is 'Glimmer' by Marinaras Trench. I actually started this way back in March 2019 (before season 2 even came out) because someone in the YES discord server suggested it, and I thought it was funny and am very here for being overly literal with song lyrics, plus I love this band. But I also suck at follow through so I never finished it, and it just sat there on my laptop until I was trying to figure out where to start with my She Ra editing, re-listened to this song and, like, it fits Glimmer's arc insanely well, particularly her relationship with Bow. I've never been more glad about my lack of follow through so I chucked out everything but the opening section. I didn't expect to be vidding these two first because I didn't know I shipped them until it was happening, and I was freaking out internally, but I really like them! They're very cute and low-key. Like this edit because I have forgotten how to do typography with clips, someone please help me! I hope it looks okay without it. I plan (hope!) to make more She Ra edits because both my OTPs sailed, and I'm so happy about it, but my brain is also so frazzled that I'm finding it hard to focus and decide on a song. I'm at least doing a Catradora MEP part so I'll do some editing with them. (Also, I knew this was gonna happen, but the thumbnail I had yesterday was so much better, but I couldn't post last night, and then I wanted to change the overlays, but ughh, YouTube, I liked the other one better!)Enjoy!#fanvidfeed
