PART 2 coming up soon!
In this video I'm talking with the great Tomomi-san (big THANK YOU to her), one of my tutors for Japanese conversation, about all sorts of topics: from sports to insects, from musical instruments to why the most difficult language for me has been... you'll see :-p
The conversation is 2 years old, so this is my level towards the end of 2018. Since then, I've practised Japanese roughly once to twice per month, in order to maintain it. So how has my Japanese changed since? Has it changed in the first place? Maybe it hasn't. Maybe I've improved my confidence, or my grammar, or my vocab? I sincerely don't know quite yet.
We'll find out together. Hopefully it has not become worse! XD
Stay tuned for PART 2! :) ----------------------------------------------

Today I'm bringing you the video that won last week's poll about which one should be up next, so here it is: My FIVE PILLARS, or golden rules to make the most out of learning multiple languages at the same time! To be quite honest I'm not completely satisfied with the result but I hope it's decent and it can still be helpful for you guys, which is the most important thing! :)
1:56 - Keep the number of languages limited to 2 (max. 3 if intermediate) 2:45 - Pick languages that are sufficiently different one from the other 4:33 - Have a main language and a background language (75%-25% split time-wise) 5:48 - Keep separate study sessions, resist the temptation to "think" in both languages 7:16 - Switch language when frustrated, using variety to avoid it and to keep a positive learning experience
#languagelearning #languagetips #polyglot #multilanguageHow to learn languages with cases | A few not so common tips...linguaEpassione2019-04-24 | Hey everyone! It's been a while since my latest video in March, but I'm finally back with a new one! This time it's my somewhat unorthodox tips on how to make learning languages with grammatical cases a bit more fun and hopefully more effective... Hope you guys enjoy!
#languagelearning #languagetips #polyglot #grammarSpeaking Georgian after 1 month? | My first steps in the Georgian languagelinguaEpassione2019-03-24 | Hello everybody, here's a short Georgian update! In this video I practise some of the few sentences that I've learnt in my first 4 weeks learning Georgian, for about 15-20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. [check out the next progress video here: youtu.be/PQXz-rXWqlU]
I actually focused mostly on reading and pronunciation in those 4 weeks but hey, here's more or less what I can already say about myself... It's really not much, but I hope it can be a good foundation to build upon in the next future :)
If you're Georgian or you speak this language I would be grateful if you could point out any mistakes or correct my pronunciation - Thank you in advance! დიდი მადლობა!
PLEASE NOTE: the Georgian script in the thumbnail reads: "I can't speak Georgian!!!" :DDifferences between spoken and written Finnish? Puhekieli vs kirjakieli explained through examples!linguaEpassione2019-03-06 | Hello People! [TO SKIP THE INTRO GO TO 2:44 - PLEASE READ THE 1st COMMENT!] Take my poll and let me know how I can help you! Click here: youtube.com/post/UgyVdnL55Mz-ZqOn9lt4AaABCQ
In this video I offer some better examples (than I did in my previous Finnish video) concerning the differences between colloquial / spoken Finnish, or "puhekieli" on one hand, and formal / written Finnish, or "kirjakieli", on the other.
Please note that this does NOT mean that everybody will ALWAYS speak that way, because there are regional differences and there's also a personal component to many of the forms featured in the video, but let's just say that if you actually talk with Finnish people in daily-life situations, you're going to hear such forms get used quite often. I hope you enjoy, and if you're learning Finnish I hope you can take away something useful!
See you guys in the next one! PS: I did edit out A LOT of coughing xDNew Year, New Language! (+ random stuff)linguaEpassione2019-01-19 | Hey everyone, how's it going? Hope you enjoy!

Hello everybody! I have seen Finnish featured among the top 10 or even top 5 most difficult languages in the world so many times... But what is it that makes it such a hard language to learn? (except for native speakers of Estonian, obviously :D) Let's find out in this video!
You will also learn about what is actually not difficult at all in this beautiful but - let's face it - quite challenging language... I hope you enjoy!
Contents of this video:
WHAT IS DIFFICULT: 1:13 Vocabulary (Finno-Ugric language family) 3:04 Case system (15 cases!!!) 5:13 Consonant gradation 6:53 Written vs. spoken language
WHAT IS EASY: 9:23 Consistent spelling system 9:50 Pronunciation and stress 10:28 No future tense 10:46 No gender, no articles 11:42 One single declension 12:11 .... the Finns! :)
*Note: These lists are by no means complete! I could have continued on and on rambling about multiple infinitives, multiple participles, dozens of word classes, bizarre verb conjugation patterns, etc. etc. etc... but I just wanted to point out which aspects are the most difficult ones for foreigners learning Finnish. I can easily make another more detailed video on ANY of these, if you guys are interested! ;DInterview with Davide from Ti Va Di Giappare? (Italian, Japanese)linguaEpassione2018-12-07 | Ciao Ragazzi! [SUBTITLED]linguaEpassione2018-10-07 | Hello People! [ENGLISH SUBTITLES AVAILABLE FROM 2:15!!!] Today I'm bringing you what many of you asked for: a video where I speak only (or almost only) Japanese, so here I am speaking with one of my tutors, Chiho-san, mainly about a country that I absolutely love: Iceland! Talking about Iceland in Japanese? This must be a dream! :D
Topics discussed in this video: 2:15 - Greetings and weather 3:38 - Busy with work lately? 4:41 - Chiho-san's trip to Iceland 6:50 - Northern lights 7:37 - Iceland's best and worst 9:59 - Icelandic horses and "tölt" 12:56 - Outro (in English)
I don't consider myself fully fluent in Japanese because of my insufficient listening and comprehension skills, but at least I can say that I have almost no problem in everyday conversation. Please feel free to point out my mistakes so that I can stop making them! ;D
Please let me know if you like this kind of videos or find these useful, because from that will depend whether or not I'll upload more similar videos in the future (in other languages as well) THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

HELLO GUYS!!! [Romanian starts at 1:32] Here we go, it's time to speak some Romanian! Remember the SUBTITLES and I hope you enjoy!
I apologize for the insufficient lighting and the camera going in and out of focus - I will definitely pay more attention to this next time!
Ingeniously, (sarcasm off) I forgot to mention how long I've studied Romanian: that's 2 years and a bit (doi ani și un pic!).
Again: THIS WAS A ONE-TAKE! :D I made some small cuts here and there just to reduce the playing time a little bit.

Hi everybody, my name's Stefano and this is my Language Snapshot 2017, my first-ever video for YouTube, and despite some cuts it's still quite... long! Skip the introduction (2:05) if you want to listen directly to the other languages.
Languages spoken: 00:25 English 02:20 German 04:11 Portuguese 05:28 French 07:30 Finnish 09:19 Spanish 10:18 Japanese 12:24 Romanian 14:17 Italian 14:45 (Mandarin and Icelandic, only one sentence each)
Further notes: - this video was recorded in Apr. 2017 on two different days and at different times of day, so I apologize for the sudden changes in lighting (whoever has spent some time in Brussels knows just how it is like here :D). - This is a long overdue video and I'd like to thank all my friends (not only polyglots!) for their encouragement to finally reach out and join in... - While I am aware of some mistakes that I made in this video, I do appreciate corrections because these can make me a better speaker, thank you in advance for your help. - A couple of things in these video are already "old", in that the most recent Polyglot Gathering was in Bratislava at the beginning of June this year, I was there as well and it was a lot of fun! Also, in the meantime I've been in Romania for the third time and I loved it once again, had many opportunities to practice the language and (hopefully) improved my conversational skills (still need to work A LOT on my vocabulary though). - I promise that my next videos will be much, much shorter... :)Learn Finnish with Stefano on Italki!linguaEpassione2017-05-08 | Would you like to learn or improve your Finnish?
