Here is my mockup of the soundtrack of Star Wars Episode VII : The Force Awakens. I put a lot of references in my remake, linking with other pieces to suit my ideas for the future of the characters. I also modify the orchestration, and and I add video editing to accompany all this. I also added a cinematic for the theme of the force at the end, say in the comments if you want more !

I wish you happiness and success during it, and what better way to celebrate the new year than to present my new project ? Here is my new ambient musical piece, this time not on a film universe, but on countries that are particularly close to my heart : the northern lands, with their magnificent forests, mountains and rivers ! You now know my love for nature, the smell of trees, the sound of flowing water, elements that I love to transcribe into music in my own way, and what I imagine when I walk there. I hope to succeed, or have managed to transport you in this atmosphere, in any case how I perceive it musically, and support you in my way in your daily life, and your studies as many have written to me. Know that I love reading your message, and I thank you deeply for that !

(with Austin Wintory)William Maytook l Music Composer2023-12-05 | Here is a small piece composed as part of the contest proposed by the fantastic @Austin Wintory. The goal was to create a piece from a single melody composed by Austin. Doing a doctoral thesis on the importance of thematic elements in music, and appreciating Austin’s work, I wanted to try this and here is the result with a small video. My use of themes in my music is very structural, they are the ones that allow to organize the music according to me, and I hope to have demonstrated a little how through this video. We had full freedom to do this, whether harmonically, rhythmically. We had about three weeks to compose the music, I admit I had a lot of fun doing it!
The piece is called: "Bolero of two wooded hearts"
Here is a magnificent project on which I had the chance to work some time ago! You already know my love for animated films, and if you are new here, know that I am an absolute fan of this medium for which I compose music. Here we find the filmic and musical atmosphere of adventure films like Indiana Jone, and especially a comic ending that required the use of a symphonic orchestra. When you know the work that these productions require, I have only respect for Chloé Dalaroy with whom I loved working. She has all my support for the future !
After my video on Avatar 2 a few years ago, here is another project of ambience music that I appreciate so much after the release of the second film by James Cameron. I have always been a great admirer of James Horner, but the musical universe that he was able to bring with this franchise is really remarkable, in addition to the rich universe that we were offered to discover a little more in the second opus! It is once again with a great thought for this immense composer who marked my childhood, that I would like to pay tribute to him through this piece. I have always had a very generalized thought of music, in the sense that I think it's possible to find it everywhere, and these music of ambience allow to integrate and to work in the music external sounds, like natural forest sounds, sea and other.
You may be able to notice some video editing work that I’m rather proud of, by the use of new techniques that I didn’t know about before, and whose rendering really gives something remarkable I find !
I have a deep love for art, I think that as a human being it’s one of the things if it’s not the thing we should be most proud of since the dawn of our species, and it’s in this beauty that after all these years, I have not stopped to find a brilliant happiness that allowed me to brighten some dark moments of my life, a happiness that I try to share with as many people as possible, in order to make capture the greatness and the deep charm of art to anyone.
Thank you very much for appreciating art and my creations in a general way, some for several years, others for today, and perhaps some in the years to come !
I share with you after a while a project on which I had the chance to work which is a beautiful short animated film. If you don't know, I'm a great admirer of animation work, it's an area that enchants me and for which I love to compose music. It was also a few years since I wanted to make a music for a more serious film, with an almost horrific theme, this is what "Racines" allowed me to explore with more complex sounds, and a richer orchestration ! I greatly appreciated working on this project, I also want to thank both the animators, Marie Bluteau and Louise Lamontagne for their work, I invite you to see their others projects with the links above, and to support them too !

I want to clarify that I did not use the ScoreBook of HTTYD2 released recently for this project, I transcribed everything by ear while helping me from what I could find on the internet (including a video by John)! Some details are missing, like some nuances by moment and also the end, which I did not necessarily find essential since it is the study of orchestration that matters here !
Since some of the people who listen to my music are greatly interested in John’s work (greeting to @FilmScoreandMore ) I thought it might be a great idea to share this work with you !
Subscribe here: youtube.com/channel/UCoHnBJFdJ7EgFqe0ZwQ3ADA?sub_confirmation=1Lamentation (2022) - William MaytookWilliam Maytook l Music Composer2022-03-06 | I know that this channel is a loophole for many people, for everyday life and especially the world situation at the moment, and it is also for me. That’s why I allow myself to put this piece there, so that I can express my emotions a bit, and perhaps allow some people to feel them with me. Although my life is filled with happiness through art, artists, and the kindness of the people who are part of it, I constantly confront myself with hatred and violence; like all of us, I wonder what our existence would be like if we promoted happiness, personal development, joy and sharing for the benefit of a more beautiful, evolved and happy humanity, instead of hatred, ego and violence, which most artists, and a vast majority of people, fight day after day. Although war, conflict and massacres were perpetuated discreetly or without our knowledge, I think that the present events have made us realize it, and we must be united as one in the face of these wars that threaten innocent people, but also our own humanity as a species.
In these moments, I speak not on behalf of any religion, political, country, leader or whatever, but on behalf of the innocent and the human race, both those who are suffering, present in Ukraine, in Russia but also in all countries of the world. I feel tired, powerless against the face of human stupidity, repeating its past history and its biggest mistakes without learning from it. For no matter your position, your religion, your country, only a madman could imagine for a moment that war resolves conflicts, and repels evil, thinking that it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but as a wise wizard once said. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.
Know that wherever, and whoever you are, and especially if you know war or hate in your daily life, you will always find comfort in this channel and in my works because that is what art in general : sharing. In our creations today are the artists of the past, allowing us to stand up today, and I think it would be cowardly not to fight today, with respect to their principles, their legacies, and what they left us. You are not alone, for this is what makes our greatest strength as human beings, the quintessence of who we are: the spirit of sacrifice, and the notion of community, of family.
Take care of yourself, I wish you to continue to bring emotions to life through your art, or to encourage it, and never cease to fight against hatred and evil.
I had the opportunity to read Dune a few years ago now, and the story I discovered was incredible, and it was also wonderful to rediscover it in the cinema under the gaze of Denis Villeneuve, and the ear of Hans Zimmer. I appreciate the work so much, both visual and sound, that it immediately inspired me to compose pieces of music of ambiances, and a video that I propose to you today, hoping that you like it as much as I liked composing this !
So you will be able to hear through this video the different themes and musical elements that Zimmer created not only for Dune, but also for another film, in addition to integrating my musical interpretation of the book that can be recognized by the use of the choir. I am waiting for your answer regarding the other film that I integrated in this video as a wink to the work of Zimmer who I appreciate very much !

I tried a new method of scrolling with the sheet music, I thought it would be more pleasant to read like this, and also easier for people who don't read music. The score really didn't appreciate the width of the page, and some engraving details surely had some concern, in addition to my mistake having loaded an old save of the score. Unfortunately, I realized this once the video editing was finished, but I think the score is perfectly readable despite this.
Chamber music has always been a challenge for me, because the intimate essence of this music requires great precision and logic with which I was never really satisfied (in my compositions), at least until this piece, which gave me a taste for discovering a little more what chamber music had to offer. With her, I discovered a magnificent repertoire, by Dvorak, Schubert, Ravel, Debussy, sublime pieces who deserve their honors just as much (and even more sometimes) as orchestral music, and I invite you more than greatly to be curious and therefore look for these sublime pieces !
I know that this kind of content interests you a lot less than Fan-made soundtracks or film covers, but it's a universe that I like as much as the rest. It's important to me to offer things that I like on this channel, and if I could encourage some people to venture out in search of "classical" music pieces, and discover new things, then I would be happy to imagine that.
Take care of yourself, and have a good listening !

I recently succeeded in a personal project that I started 7 years ago, and which is at the origin of this channel, and although the trip is not over, I am very happy to have achieved this goal. During these years, I was able to speak, share with many people who, for the most part, all encouraged me in what I was undertaking. I wanted to send you a great message of thanks in music, putting all these years in perspective, and with the promise that the adventure has only just begun.
As expected, here is the video of calm atmospheric music composed by myself inspired by the universe of Narnia. I greatly enjoy the company of nature, trees and rivers, and I hope through this video to convey that to you.
For lovers like me of this universe, you can find on my channel the music inspired by the book "The Silver chair".
If you liked this video, don't hesitate to support me by subscribing, and buy the album below if you feel like it!
Planned for a String ensemble and percussion, the piece tells in music a love story in the form of a theme and variation in my way, which was conducive to this day. So I hurried to finish this piece for this day, even though the score still has some details and imperfections to finish, it remains fully readable and understandable, so I allowed myself to publish it before its complete finish. Nevertheless, I accept with great pleasure ((even more if you are a musician) your returns, whether technical or emotional on this piece, hoping that you liked it.
The original theme that follows us throughout the piece begins at 1:32 until 1:58, it's then repeated a few times so that it's memorized by the listener. I propose you to find all the variations of this theme during the work, and to post it as a comment if your heart tells you to!
Have a great weekend and a great week as well.

If you didn't know, I really enjoy improvising in music, and I was able to spend long hours, even whole days improvising when I started the piano. The thing that I find most amazing is the reaction of people when you share this with them, because you literally see what you are conveying to people, and how they feel. And during that time you are experiencing something unique that you are sharing with people that may never happen again. I find it beautiful. Tell me if you like it, and if you would like to have it on other platforms like Spotify or iTunes!
I hope that you are all well for the end of the year 2020. On this occasion, here is a piece that I was ordered for students of a music school some time ago. "La Danse des Flocons D'Argents" in french means : The dance of the silver flakes, witch is rather appropriate for a month of December!
I hope you will enjoy this little piece, which I really enjoy composing!
Here is the video presenting the score on the soundtrack of “The Love of the Hunt”, I made a conductor of it intended as a small suite for orchestra (a few more things to correct on it by the way), of course it’s a large orchestra (and large score) so put the video in big screen, and increase the video quality to play. Putting large orchestral scores is not an easy task on youtube, I'm still looking for a better method than this, if you ever have any feedback, please let me know.
I had some issues with my computer following an update, and I still have some, even though it's much more livable (be very careful when updating your machine), don't worry though, transcription are still planned, along with other projects and video ideas.

I had announced to you in the last video that i was looking for new concepts allowing me to do more projects on the channel, well here is one, the transcription of score. Obviously, I don't pretend to make a perfect transcription (you will even see besides that I forgot a gliss. with the harp at one time in this video), but that allows to see and hear certain things which can escape us. I also know that many of you are (like me), admirers of John Powell's music, so I thought I will be a great idea to start with some music of the HTTYD franchise.
I await your feedback on this format, if you like it, if you can see the score well, if the scrolling suits you, if you just prefer the pages with a cut, tell me and we will discuss it.
I am currently working on a big project: a symphonic poem. A personal project with the themes and the music exclusively composed by me. For the moment I still have a lot of work to do but I intend to show it to you all of this in a few times. I have 2 more videos planned which will appear (I think), every two weeks or so, this will allow me to see how to share the score of The love of the Hunt.
In any case thank you for everything, I am grateful to you for following my projects, take care of yourself.
P.S : Put the video in maximum quality and in large, for more comfort.
After some time of work, here is the animated film "The Love of the Hunt" by Khyle Hightower with simply the orchestral score in relation to the scene/film. If you didn't know it, I am an eternal lover and admirer of work in the animation field, it's always a great pleasure to be able to work on animated films and that's why it's fantastic to be able to show you this work from a musical perspective!
In addition I had a discussion with a friend : it's true that Soundtracks don't have musical forms/shape, strictly speaking (most at least, there are many exceptions) but follow in most cases the shape of the film himself! In order to produce a shape, one of the powerful tools used since at least the Baroque period in music are themes / patterns / leitmotifs, which allow to differentiate a theme A from a theme B, or even from one character to another when we’re in in the genre of opera, symphonic poem, film music and many more. This produces a logic, a logic with which I compose each of my music, so it's interesting to listen to the themes heard depending on the characters or situations. Whether you are a musician or not, pay attention, and you will see that even inconciamently, your brain understands this logic!
Khyle's film is magnificent, I thank him for letting me share his fantastic work with you and I recommend to follow him on his YouTube channel and see his next creations!
Thank you for the feedback on Narnia, I will try to post more videos and music, I am currently trying to find faster concepts allowing me to post more often! Take care of yourself in this pandemic period, and listen to music!

Here is my work for the fan-made soundtrack of Narnia 4, happy to have finished, but still not satisfied with me, I think I would never be! However, I have learned, discovered, and grown up with this great project, so I don't regret in any case every hour of work that I was able to spend on it.
I am a big fan of the work of C.S. Lewis, reading books, I always imagined music that would correspond to my interpretation of books. I also put some references to the incredible work of Harry Gregson Williams on the themes, films that, for the first certainly, also rocked me for years. I have great preferences for magical moments, the fantastic flights taking us into the wildest dreams, and I think that's the main goal of this project. Don't hesitate to read the book at the same time.
HTTYD3 has come out in the meantime, and I must say, it's an explosion in my opinion. The film of course, but obviously the music of John Powell also. Indescribable, wonderful, fantastic, incredible, I think not a day has passed without me listening to the soundtrack since the second precise or it came out, and yet; and yet, I do not get tired for a second. Everyone has to learn from this work, to realize that we can always do more, because we do not define ourselves by our words, but by our actions.
Here below the artists in the video, as I said, don't hesitate to go see what they do, anyway, I urge you because they are incredible artists.
I hope you had a good time, escaping with my music, I think to do another video on Narnia with only music ambiences, this way people who want to fall asleep, or work, create with a calm music, will be able!
It's true that I was not really present this year, especially towards the end because of personal reasons and also because my work requires a lot of time, and I apologize for that !
But here is my rearrangement of : Hark the Herald Angels Sing ! Hope you will like it in this day of Christmas !
Hey fellows, I'm back with a big new project on which I would have spent quite a lot of time ! James Cameron’s Avatar 2, with original music by a composer that I particularly appreciate : James Horner ! The story that I tell happens right after the event of the first film, we follow the adventure of two hunters who will discover the "forbidden lands" which are the ruins of the HellGates that being a sanctuary also! Not understanding why a sacred tree is here, they are looking for an answer by climbing the Iknimaya ! They will also have some mishap on their road that they will have to face ! I am already working with my friend Fyrosand on another project that will also take us into space, I let you guess !
As usual I thank you for your support, you are really fantastic ! :D
Vocals : DaisyMeadow aka Maartje Nijhof. It's a fantastic person with an angel voice, really if you need a person to sing I can only advise you to work with her :D ! For contact : maartjenijhof@yahoo.nl

-IMPORTANT- Talking to you only by description is rather tiring, so I thought of eventually making a video (with a camera) where I speak to you, I would like to have your opinion on it ! Besides if you have any questions, ask them in comments !
I want to say that I have taken into account the fact that you are part of the project of The Odyssey of a Space Traveler, if you have proposals (in the comments), or if you want to write a story about this episode or the next, then made and inform me ! I would compose the continuation of the episode according to your propositions or works ;) !
Hey fellows ! Sorry for the lack of presence on my part lately, I had a big end-of-year exam (which I succeeded :D) and I also had to do a studio move, which is rather long ! Don't worry, Avatar 2 is soon ready, but today I want to share a personal project that I started some time ago !
I present you a spatial story ! The Odyssey of a Space Traveler ! The story is about a traveler who has to look for chronicles in space, the ones that are the source of many answers !
-Truly the aim in this personal project was to create different musical ambiences while doing research on the sound, the electro-acoustic mixture but above all to create a music with surprising harmonies !
I was inspired by several composers, I invite you to find them in my music, if you find them all, mark it in comment, maybe you will have a reward :) !
Obviously you can find all the artists pictures a bit lower, go to see their work, it's amazing, these people are really full of talent that inspire me every day, thank you for your work guys ! __________________________________________________________

Hey guys ! Thank you so much for all your support, this video is like a special 1000 subscriber video, so I said that I would not do more star wars, but I have to admit that the trailer made me want to composed a little piece for you ! It's a very large set with electric guitar, very heavy percussion and choir, it's true that it is very huge so the result is not bad at all xD ! The next soundtrack will be on Avatar 2 (plus a secret project) don't worry ! The lion king will come, I'm just waiting for some pictures of the trailer of the movie that will soon be released ! Thank you for all again, you're amazing !
-This is my work for the (fan-made) soundtrack of the future film How To Train Your Dragon 3 inspired by the music of John Powell and others composed by me, obviously it's John Powell who will compose the original score, this man is incredible and I think we all have to learn from him, musician or not (but especially the musicians xD) ! So, my work is not epic music, it's not movie music either, I call it music study, this make me to learn a lot, because everything is done to the ear, so the only thing left is my brain and my fingers to play instruments and compose ! I hope in any case it will have pleased you, I know that I still have a LOT of work, but I like it, besides if you have suggestions of musics, write them in comments !
--------------------------THANK YOU ! YOU ARE AMAZING !------------------------------
P.S : Maybe a music sheet conductor can be published if I have the time, so stay tuned ;) !

I wish I could show you everything I have in my head, unfortunately I have to adapt my productions according to my computer and my schedule... And generally this is not really the result that I expected, for this project it is true that I am less disappointed with me, but I think that I still have a lot of work and that I have to improve.
P.S : For all the respect I have for John Powell and this amazing film too, of course the video is not monetized ;) !
