LET'S GET LACHY DOLEY TO THE USA

Everyday I get asked on email and social media when I'm coming to the US and it makes me so sad that no agents want to take a chance on me and bring me over because I know you are there and I really want to come and see you all.

Therefore I've decided to take this 'one last shot' to see if there's enough of us willing to buy tickets to get me over without the help of agents and promotors.

The plan is to crowdfund TWO massive shows in the US..... Which is basically another way of saying buying tickets to two massive shows, but enough tickets to cover the enormous expenses to make it happen. The only weird thing is, I haven't yet booked the venues or the dates... only the cities.

After weighing up many many options the only achievable way I can see, is to do one show in New York City and one in Los Angeles..... I know so many for you live miles and miles away from both these cities but I really feel it's the only way cover the majority of us and get it across the line.

Each show will be on either a Friday night or a Saturday night over 2 consecutive weekends somewhere between April and October 2024. There will also be a special HAMMOND/CLAVINET masterclass the following afternoon in each city as an add-on option.

IDEAS: 💡

Making a getaway or adventure weekend out of it.
Gifting some tickets to a friend or musician in these cities might also be a cool thang. Birthdays, Christmas presents are always a good one.
REWARDS/TICKETS: 🎟️ 👕 🎵 Are all listed on the rewards section to the right

Every ticket with also come with a giant, personalised and signed TICKET STUB to brag that you were there and played a part in getting me to the US
I will also come out after each show to chat with everyone, take photos and sign merch
There may also be some extra add-on rewards as the campaign goes on

To make it happen. I need to sell around 400 tickets at $50usd for each show. That makes a target amount of $40,000usd

APROXIMATE EXPENSES (USD): 💰

Venue hire and production $10,000
Flight Lachy to USA (Australia to USA return) $2000
Work visa for Lachy $4000
Flights for 3 people inside the US (NY to LA Return) $1000
Accomodation for Lachy 10 Days $1800
2 LA musicians for 2 shows, 2 masterclass and 2 rehearsals and travel to NY $3000
2 local crew for each show $2000
Accomodation for band in NY $500
Rehearsal space $500
Hammond organ, Leslie speaker and Fender amp hire and delivery $1500
Crowdfunding fee at 6% of target $2400
Public liability and travel insurance $500
Facebook advertising $1500
Backline hire in NY $1000
Publicist hire $1500
2 Masterclass hire spaces $1000
Unexpected Tour Expenses (Believe me these are a plenty: Excess Baggage, Extra Backline, Extra production, Band meals, Band travel, Undisclosed venue costs. $2000
Aproximate total expenses: $36,200

This would leave around $4,000 profit for the whole trip.. Which is just enough to convince my family it would be worthwhile to leave them again and to turn down other paid work in Australia for.

I know this is a little out of the norm and possibly a hard sell, but the days of me travelling across the world to likely lose thousands of dollars in the hope of exposure or creating opportunities are over. I'm now 45 with a family and a mortgage. Therefore any time away from home must certainly be profitable or I simply can't go.

CAMPAIGN ENDS AT:

Los Angeles - Nov 15 at 9pm
New York - Nov 15 at 12am Midnight
Sydney - Nov 16 at 3pm
If we DON'T reach the target by the end date, Kickstarter will automatically mark the campaign as failed, you will not be charged and I will not see any of the money pledged.... Therefore I sadly wouldn't be coming to see you guys. Honestly I don't if I'll ever make to the USA if this fails :-(

If we DO reach the target by the end date, Kickstarter will automatically mark the campaign as a success, the funds will be released to me and I will get straight to it working out the best venues and best times to make it happen.

Q: WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO EITHER SHOW AFTER THE DATES ARE FINALISED?
