Shmurple Purple 2024-02-27 | I am both late to this trend and late to AroAce awareness week which was the point of this video but shhhhhhhh.

The Story:
Nightingalekit was born as the "uglier" sister of Coldflower's second litter while Prettykit was a perfect, pure white, blue-eyed little girl. Prettypaw chose to become a medicine cat apprentice -- much to Coldflower's disapproval as the mother wanted her preferred daughter to have kittens of her own. Nightingalepaw couldn't help but wonder if Prettypaw was Starclan's favorite too, though she holds nothing but genuine love for her sister. Trying to be perfect, Nightingalesleet started a relationship with Thawblaze. While he wasn't anything horrible, Nightingalesleet couldn't help but be aware that she had no feelings towards him. And as she unhappily did her warrior duties, she became aware that she felt no attraction towards any of the cats in Sunclan. Nightingalesleet broke up with Thawblaze, letting him know that she was aroace and would never love him, but he took it poorly. Thawblaze takes any chance to berate his ex and Nightingalesleet tries to cope with her constant loneliness. She's happy that she doesn't have to force herself to feel romance any longer, but she'll never get over the jealousy that gnaws at her when she sees the rest of her family in committed relationships.

Bonus facts: Nightingalesleet and Prettyflower are Skydawn's half sisters (Skydawn being heavily prominent in other COTC animations of mine as she's my main OC Gorseflight's dead mate)
Nightingalesleet has a fear of hawks as she was lifted off by one as a kitten before being saved by Bluestream
Nightingalesleet learned who her father was when she was a kitten, but she will always view Bluestream/star as her real dad, regardless of the fact that Coldflower cheated on him to have Nightingale and Pretty

Inkpot Gods- A Call of The Crows Animatic (WC OC)

Shmurple Purple 2024-01-15 | I did the initial storyboard of this in late 2022 and decided in late December of 2023 to finish the rough sketches as quickly as possible. I have already spent 10 hours on this and it's only rough sketches. One day I hope to finish this, but we'll see haha. It's a lot of work.

Super short synopsis (more information can be found in past pmvs)
Blue and cold became mates, but cold hated their daughter sky for not being perfect. Sky got with Gorse-- the medicine cat-- and hid their relationship until Sky drowned after their kits were born. The kits learned of their real parents at the funeral. Gorse killed Cold after she became a kittypet because of how abusive she was to the whole family. Blue became the leader of Sunclan. Wild learned that he wasn't just Gorse's son, but also adopted, so he left sunclan to find his biological parents. Bluestar got into a much healthier relationship with Crow who had also been a victim of abuse and they ate fairly happy together despite some struggles. The last 2 shots (blue, gorse, and sky all reuniting) are just wishful thinking as gorse will not be going to starclan when he dies.

1 Month Sketchbook Challenge! [6 Year YouTube Anniversary]

Shmurple Purple 2023-11-05 | Fingers crossed, YouTube will process this video quickly enough that it actually goes up on November 4th which is 6 years since my very first YouTube video! It was a very bad "animation" of two cats that I made to test out Windows Movie Maker as my very first editing program. Obviously, I've come incredibly far since then and I know little me would be enthralled with my art style today, even if I still see all the things I could improve on. I think it's important when looking back, especially on an artistic journey, to remember that there was a point in time where those "bad" art pieces were your favorite thing in the world. I was crazy in love with my own art for a long time before my eyes were properly trained to know what good perspective and anatomy is. Sometimes I miss my unjudgemental days when I drew because I thought my art was phenomenal. However, I still find, especially with a challenge like this, that drawing is incredibly entertaining and one of my favorite ways to release emotion. Thank you all who have been here since day one, and thank you to everyone who has popped up along the way, even if this is the first video you're seeing of mine! Here's to 6 more years ♡︎

Mamas Boy (3 Year Call of The Crows RP Anniversary) ~Animation Meme

Shmurple Purple 2023-09-27 | Happy 3 year Anniversary for the Call of The Crows roleplay my friends and I have!!! I seriously would not be where I am today in many ways, especially art-wise, without this roleplay and I just love my friends in it. Y'all are my best friends and make up many of the best moments of my life. Thank you so much for 3 years and hopefully another 3 to come!

Story:
Gorseflight (black tom-- mine) and Skydawn (white shecat-- @ruu 's) were forbidden mates as Gorseflight is a medicine cat, so they never told their children Wildkit (main brown cat-- @decaying-lambX 's), Lightkit (white tom-- @ruu2761 's), and Shadowkit (black shecat-- mine) about their parents. When Skydawn drowned to death, the truth was revealed as Gorseflight felt the need for his children to have a parent. However, the kits, especially Wildkit, hated him for the secrets and were traumatized at their mother's death. Wildpaw was given Vulturescreech (grey and black tom-- mine) as a mentor, but Vulturescreech was strict and unforgiving. As such, Wildpaw ran away from the clans and learned that he was actually adopted. He confronted Gorseflight about it and returned to the clans with his new mate, Clint (brown ticked tom-- @peachbowle 's) Because of how long Wildpaw was gone for, Bluestar (blue tabby tom-- mine) forced him to wait an excruciatingly long amount of time before finally getting his warrior name as Wildhound. Wildhound is filled with resentment for his clan and family and often misses his mother. Shadowpaw-- now Shadowcry-- is continued to be worrried about him and notices how little he's eating. Maybe now that he has an apprentice named Minkpaw (orange and brown tabby shecat-- mine) things will change. Regardless, his mother Skydawn will always be watching over him.

We Used to be Best Buddies [Call of the Crows PMV]

Shmurple Purple 2023-02-14 | I am stupidly proud of this as my first "completed" pmv with shading and backgrounds and whatnot. I am obsessed with these silly rp cats and I'm truly just pumped to have gotten this out in time for Valentine's Day. Took me about 4 days total.

The story:
Gorseflight (the black cat) is the medicine cat of Sunclan. He views the world in a black and white binary of good cats and bad cats. If a cat does something bad, they are bad forever and can never change in his eyes. He took it upon himself as an apprentice to start "taking care" of these cats to keep Sunclan safe. A few suspected, but they met unfortunate ends... When he wasn't being grumpy or dealing with bad cats, Gorsepaw found himself drawn towards Skypaw (the white cat). She was the only one who seemed to actually care for him. Gorsepaw became Gorseflight and Skypaw became Skydawn. The two became mates in secret, but Skydawn never knew about the murders. They had kits, though Skydawn never revealed their father to them or the clan. Then, due to scenarios that are so deep in the rp lore I can't explain them here, Skydawn drowned. Lost without her in his life, Gorseflight's already unsound went even deeper into insanity. Seeing her ghost one day, Gorseflight proudly boasted that he had murdered Skydawn's abusive mom, but Skydawn was rightfully horrified. Gorseflight hasn't properly seen her ghost sense.

Is It Cold Out? [COMPLETED Dabloon MAP]

Shmurple Purple 2022-12-20 | "What is this MAP?"
For those of you like me, Doubloon videos took over your fyp on tik tok a few weeks ago. I have become invested to the point that I have a Traveler Sona and know many other artists do too. A quick rundown of what Dabloontok is/was: silly little cats will give you money (doubloons) which you can use to buy things from other silly little cats. It’s all on tik tok, all pretend, and all tracked by the user themselves. There is no official structure or rules except those you choose to follow. I am in love with this concept. It makes me happy. Most of the videos use the sound that is the music of this MAP. So, for this MAP, the animators took a part and drew their own traveler either outside in the cold traveling or inside resting, eating, or buying wares.

Thank you so much to the amazing participants! I know this was a silly little concept but I love hosting little MAPs like this and I had a blast. you all are amazing!
