This video shows some bugs with Burn stacks. I am using Monoco's Baguettaro + Benisseur Mortar to double Burn stacks at every turn. (I'm on NG and Delaying Slash can stunlock Simon even without Slow if you max Sciel's Speed.)
*What's Going On?* - The Burn icon disappears when I double it from 1,181,351,850 to 2,362,703,700. - (The first time I noticed this bug, I reached a bit over 2 billions stacks and the icon was still there). - Even though the icon disappears, Burn is still there (Simon is still on fire). - I then double it again, and the icon reappears showing 430,440,192 stacks. - This value is very close to (2,362,703,700 - 2,147,483,648) x 2 = 430,440,104. - The difference of 88 stacks is due to Burn applied by Mortar and free aim. - Likely, Burn is being stored in a "signed int32" programming variable (its max value is 2,147,483,648). - When Burn exceeds this value, overflow happens and the value flips sign, becoming negative (thanks to @AlphaSeagull for this!). This is probably why the icon disappears. - Its value can still be easily computed, even if hidden: - (2,362,703,700 - 2,147,483,648) = - 215,220,052. - When Baguettaro doubles it next, the value turns back positive: 215,220,052 x 2 = 430,440,104.
*Why Did The Game Freeze?* - Likely because of calculations with large numbers. - On PS5, short lags will begin from 100,000 Burn stacks, and become increasingly longer with more Burn stacks. - When I let the game calculate Burn damage for Simon in the video, it froze for 10 minutes and then I restarted the game.
*How Much Damage Would A Stack Of 2 Billion Do?* - Unfortunately, not much. - Burn damage is "softly" capped, meaning that the function used to calculate it won't grow much past some value (reddit.com/r/expedition33/comments/1kl6za8/burn_damage_calculation) - This means that 200 Burn or 2,000,000 won't make any difference in terms of damage. - However, Burn damage still depends on the "attack power" of whoever inflicted Burn. - For example, the more buffed Monoco is, the more damage Burn will do. In this specific case, Baguettaro keeps buffing Monoco thanks to its Almighty perk, so Burn damage keeps growing too. - Mind that all the DLC weapons buffs are additive, though: :BASE x (1 + OTHER_BUFFS + N x WEAPON_BUFF)._ This means that, at some point, their damage increase will be negligible.
*Another Bug* - If a character without Painted Power (CH1) will apply the first Burn of stack, Burn damage will be capped to 9,999 (even if a character with Painted Power (CH2) will apply it). Once the stacks applied by CH1 wears off, damage is computed correctly. This does not happen if CH1 applies Burn after CH2. - For example, if Sciel does not have Painted Power and applies the first stack of Burn, then Burn damage will be 9,999 until the stacks applied by Sciel will wear off (then no matter how buffed Monoco is or how much Burn he applies). - This won't happen, instead, if Monoco applies the first stack of Burn.

*Overview Team 1: Sciel, Lune, Monoco* - Sciel stacks Moon Charges and Foretell to one-shot with End Slice (with Roulette). - Lune stacks 2 Clea's Death, then applies Greater Slow with Ice Lance. - Monoco plays late and Breaks Simon for some faster turns. - Monoco dies at his third turn with Inverted + Tint. Simon plays but will not steal any Shield, because he removes Monoco from the Canvas (Simon never does both steal + remove at the same time). - Lune dies with Hell. Same trick again. - Sciel parries and uses End Slice.
*Intervention Trick* - If you max Sciel's Speed, she may have 2 turns in a row queued (see the "turn stack"). - However, the game does not allow to trigger "Play Again" (like Cheater) twice in a row, so she will play 3 turns in a row instead of 4. - But if you use Intervention on Sciel's second turn, she will still play the third turn after the character she casted Intervention on. - Since this turn is not right after a "Play Again" turn, "Play Again" will be triggered again, and Sciel will play all 4 turns. - You can use this trick to get some extra Moon Charges with Intervention.
*Overview Team 2: Maelle, Verso* - Verso must play before Maelle, so raise his Speed a bit. - He applies Greater Slow and Greater Defenceless with Exposing Attack and Slowing Attack. - He Burns, Marks (with shots, or Marking Shot if needed), and gives Shields to Maelle with Shielding Tint. - Maelle uses Egide on the first turn to parry all attacks. - Then switches to Virtuose before parrying. - And finally uses Burning Canvas after parrying (Empowering Parry). - Thanks to Powerful Mark + Rush on Powerful + Shell on Rush, Egide stays active all the time. - Energizing Pictos also give her enough APs to trigger Powered Attack on all Burning Canvas hits.
*Damage Notes* - I use Roulette for faster kills. If End Slice misses it (or you didn't stack enough Charges / Foretell), you can "idle" in Twilight using Twilight Dance. - This deals good damage and consumes Foretell (buffing the next End Slice). - After a few turns, parry and use End Slice again. You won't have Fortune's Fury, though (and, possibly, Defenceless as well). - If you are VERY lucky you can two-shot Simon with Maelle. - This would require to trigger Roulette on almost ALL Burning Canvas hits AND to keep the Mark on all hits. - You can see that my first Burning Canvas deals slightly less than half of Simon's HP, but Roulette triggered only on the first and fifth hit.
*Speed* - This is NG. On NG+ and beyond, enemies' Speed increases, but this is irrelevant. - The strategy is the same, with very few small differences. - First, make Monoco slower. He needs to play exactly 3 turns (or Inverted will wear off) and Simon can't get a turn between his death and Sciel's (except for the one triggered by his death). If you want to keep the 3 Shields from his Shielding Death, you'll have to kill Lune and then attack with Sciel right after his death. Making him slower delays his turns and his death, letting you stack more buffs for End Slice. - If you want, you can skip Break Point, because it forces an immediate second turn with Monoco (Gradient Attacks trigger "Play Again"). - Second, Sciel may not play 3 turns in a row, so she won't use the "Intervention trick". - Third, Defenceless from Hexga crush may wear off. Simply use Doom at the turn before Fortune's Fury.Sireso Bugfix OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-07-06 | 0:00 Preview 0:21 Build 1:13 Guide
- Patch 1.5.6 fixed Sireso + Powerful bug. - With this build, you'll stack as many Clea's Death as possible while using the strongest passive buffs (Sireso and Fortune's Fury). - This is NG Expert, but the build works on any NG. - On NG+5, enemies have higher Speed and you'll parry more, for true max damage.
*Comparison With Clea's Death Stacking* - youtu.be/EvaVrsqtMjo - That build is potentially stronger, because Clea's Death can be stacked infinitely. - However, +10 Clea's Death (as in the video linked) is weaker than Sireso (even considering Teamwork instead of Solo Fighter). - That is, *given all other additive buffs,* 25 x 10 = 250% additive buff (+10 Clea's Death) is weaker than 147% multiplicative buff (Sireso + Teamwork - Solo Fighter). - The same comparison applies to all my old OP builds: given the same number of turns, using the same strategy of this video yields higher damage.
*Turn Manipulation* - Team order: Verso, Maelle, Sciel. - Verso and Sciel need Revive Paradox because they die a few times for Clea's Death. - Sciel dies with Auto Death and revives immediately. - Because she must play after Maelle (and Maelle after Verso), equip Auto Death + Survivor + Shortcut on Verso and Maelle (or Sciel will play first because of Revive Paradox). - This + First Strike on all ensures that the characters follow the order decided at team selection (who you put in the team first from the main menu).
*Speed* - DO NOT apply Rush on Maelle. - Increase Sciel's and Verso's Speed with Pictos. - Make sure their Speed is the same (or as similar as possible). - Always have Greater Rush on Verso. - Apply Greater Rush to Sciel with Powerful Revive + Rush On Powerful, and increase its duration with Longer Rush. - DO NOT reapply Rush on Sciel. - This ensures that everyone plays enough turns to setup everything, and that Verso plays before Maelle's last turn. - That's because Maelle can't Break with Sniper (she would one-shot the Moissonneuse), so Verso must do it. - This works on any NG. The only difference is that enemies will play more turns, but that does not affect team order and your turns.
*Attacking Mask Keeper and Dualliste* - Maelle must bring Mask Keeper and Dualliste below 50% HP. - This makes Mask Keeper attack more (longer combos) and Dualliste apply Inverted. - Because of Roulette, this can be tricky. - Also, on NG+ enemies have more HP. - On NG (in the video), shooting is enough (with Augmented Aim and Piercing Shot), but you must take some precautions. - DO NOT Burn with Maelle, or Mask Keeper may die later. - DO NOT shoot Mask Keeper in Virtuose, or he may die. Shoot him only in Stanceless or Defensive Stance. - Debuff both Mask Keeper and Dualliste with Greater Defenceless with Verso (Exposing Attack). - On NG+ and higher, you may need to use Base Attacks (buffed with Luminas), or Skills. - You could also equip more Charging Luminas to trigger Gradient Overcharge on Maelle's second turn.
*Burden Trick* - Verso takes Inverted from Maelle with Burden to die one extra time. - Inverted countdown (3 turns from Inverted Affinity) is NOT reset. - For example, if Maelle plays two turns before Verso then Verso's Inverted will last only one turn. - For this reason, Verso must play before Maelle.
*Why No Draining Cleanse?* - It removes Inverted (no Inverted Affinity + Tainted buffs). - The total damage from the 5 Burning Canvas hits will be higher (see youtube.com/watch?v=aIx4POp9WK8), but the goal of this build is to maximize one-hit damage.Esquiso OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-28 | 0:00 Preview 0:28 Intro and Build 1:47 Guide
*EDIT MISTAKE!* The second Striker in the preview was supposed to be End Bringer (2.87 B with Feint and no Mark), but I got confused while editing 😭
Below, an overview of the build and the step-by-step guide (also in the video). More details and notes in the pinned comment.
*Overview* - Overly complicated build to let Verso die as many times as possible to stack Esquiso's buff. - Its death buff (30%) stacks additively: DAMAGE x (1 + 0.3 x DEATHS + TAINTED + INVERTED + ...). Thus, damage increase is not proportional to number of stacks, and it takes a LONG time to exceed Simoso's (Rank S = x3 vs Rank A = x2; x2 from the extra hit). More details in the pinned comment. - Verso dies in two ways: taking Burn from Maelle (Stalum) with Burden, and by Damage Share on Maelle (who takes all hits with Egide). - To reach Rank S (Aureole) in one turn: Overload or free aim + Light Holder or Burden. - You can cast Light Holder from Rank B/A: first four hits → Rank A + fifth hit → Rank S. - Verso plays thanks to Revive Paradox and Intervention. - Sciel and Maelle have to play as often as possible, so equip the highest-Speed Pictos to them (such that their Speed is more or less the same) and max their Agility and Luck. - Verso applies Rush to Maelle and Sciel with Protecting Death + Powerful On Shell + Rush On Powerful. - Team order: Maelle (Stalum's Burn), Verso (takes Burn), Sciel (Intervention). - Because Verso has Auto Death + Revive Paradox, you must equip Auto Death + Survivor + Shortcut on Maelle to make her play before him. - When Dualliste applies Inverted, stop killing Verso and stack Clea's Death with Maelle instead: she dies/revives thanks to Last Chance (1 HP) + Burn (Stalum) + Revive Tints. - Finally, parry with Verso and attack.
*Damage Notes* - Reference: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s73anX98Gj-nJxvTSZxEDDnMJCpdWPEDPzXHxUQR99w/edit?gid=927591820#gid=927591820 - The Moissonneuse takes double damage when Stunned. - End Bringer deals triple damage to Stunned enemies → better than Angel's Eyes despite Esquiso's buff to Gradient Attacks. - No Draining Cleanse with Feint, or Verso won't die of Burn. - Follow Up: 1.62 B with 42 Verso's Deaths and 28 Empowering Parry (with Mark). - Striker: 1.87 B with 34 Deaths and 22 Empowering Parry (no Mark). - End Bringer: 2.87 B with 33 Deaths and 22 Empowering Parry (no Mark).
*Death Via Burden* - Stalum Burns Maelle. - Sciel uses Intervention on Verso. - Verso shoots for Rank A, then uses Burden for Rank S and takes Burn from Maelle. - Verso dies and revives. - Repeat until Verso revives but Sciel has no turn left. - Verso uses Light Holder instead of Burden. - Maelle uses Egide and is Burned.
*Death Via Damage Share* - An enemy attacks, hits Maelle (Egide), Verso dies (Damage Share), revives (Aureole), and plays immediately (Revive Paradox). - Verso shoots for Rank B/A, then uses Light Holder for Rank S (Aureole). - After all enemies have attacked, Sciel will play (after Verso's Revive Paradox turn). - This time, Verso uses Burden to take Burn from Maelle. - Sciel uses Intervention on him, and you are back to stacking deaths via Burn.
*When To Stop?* - When Dualliste has 50% HP left, he'll apply Inverted at the beginning of his next turn. - At this point, Verso must not die to keep Inverted Affinity + Tainted. - If you die, take it from Sciel with Burden. However, this is a backup plan that can be done only once. - This also means you could keep stacking more Verso's death _only via Damage Share_ (not Burn, because you'd take also Inverted), but it would be much less efficient. - For this reason, be sure to bring Mask Keeper below 50% HP _before_ Dualliste.
*Clea's Death Stacking* - When Verso revives before Dualliste's turn, stop dying. - Overload for 1 HP (At Death's Door). - Healing Tint on Maelle to kill her (Inverted). She'll revive (Second Chance). - To stack more Clea's Death, repeat the following actions. - Sciel: Revive Tint on Maelle, Intervention on Verso. - Maelle: Last Chance for 1 HP, die of Burn. - Verso: Revive Tint on Maelle, Powerful on Sciel (Rush on Powerful; fail the QTE) or base attack (Slowing Attack). - In the meantime, Verso stacks Empowering Dodge.
*Final Setup* - After Maelle's last death, Verso breaks Sciel's Shield with a Healing Tint, then uses From Fire to trigger Empowered Healer (no Perfect Recovery, or you'll lose Inverted). - Sciel uses Fortune's Fury on Verso, then dies with a Healing Tint. - Verso parries (Empowering Parry) until his next turn. - Break the Moissonneuse (Sniper, Exposing Break, Burning Break). - If you use End Bringer: equip Marking Break + Double Mark; shoot Mask Keeper or Dualliste for Rank A (if needed). - If you use Follow Up: same, but be sure to shoot x10 times for max damage. - If you use Striker: DO NOT equip Marking Break; shoot the Moissonneuse 13 times (Charging Stun) + Dualliste 1 time (Charging Weakness), then use Striker.Best Teams vs Simon x100 | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-21 | *Patch 1.5.6 version: youtu.be/c9t-xSNb0Z4* *Unedited version* youtu.be/Tm4Z3mS1EiM *Stunlock version* youtu.be/dQLb4qn6FRM

*Speed* - Reference docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT57Q4iPGKS3zmo7ZWzBdhFasdJtzA4mFk04GW-ITAIVViE1zrzPoGPFVUoNtS13vKFk9AbZwE3u2KX/pubhtml?gid=1440268999&single=true - Simon's Speed: 4330 (NG) and 13434 (NG+5). - Greater Slow: -40%. - Rush: +33% (+58% if Greater Rush). - Stats matter only for Sciel and Maelle (Charnon and Esqium). Others can max Luck and Agility. - Prioritize Sciel's Speed, because she needs to play more turns than Maelle. - Set Verso's and Lune's Speed such that turns are: Simon → Verso → Lune → Sciel. This is needed to give Shields to Sciel. - For that, either Sciel's Speed must be slightly lower than theirs or much higher. In the latter case, she'll often play multiple turns in a row. - Also, Verso's Speed must be greater or equal than Lune's, because he needs to play before her to Mark (so she can hit the Mark too for Rush). - On NG+5, you need 5101.5 Speed to match Simon's Speed with Greater Rush and Greater Slow. - Maelle's Speed is not really important (worst case she parries more = more Empowering Parry). - However, Monoco MUST have higher Speed than Maelle because he must play before her to give her Shields. - His Speed should be as close as possible to Maelle's, otherwise their turns will be swapped at some point. - On NG, max Monoco's Agility (Maelle also maxes it because of Esqium), then give him Dead Energy I for +4 Speed.
*Why End Slice?* - Its damage is multiplied by (1 + 0.2 x FORETELL), while Twilight buff is (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - FORETELL is the total number of Foretell _consumed_ during the fight (not the ones currently on the enemy). - If you always apply 10 Foretell before Twilight Slash: (1 + 0.2 x CHARGES x 10) x (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - The x10 multiplier tells how *massive* the buff given by Foretell consumption is. - Because the two buffs are *multiplicative,* this buff stacking is extremely effective in the long run. - For example, assume 50 Moon Charges (500 Foretell) + 1 Sun Charge: (1 + 0.25 x 51) x (1 + 0.2 x 500) = 1388.75 - Let's double Moon Charges and Foretell: (1 + 0.25 x 101) x (1 + 0.2 x 1000) = 5276.25 - 5276.25 / 1388.75 = x3.8, meaning that in twice the time you'll get almost x4 damage. - Check this youtu.be/2XUOgto-TXI
*Twilight Dance Build* - _[Sucetton]_ Spam Shadow Bringer to stack 3 Sun Charges per turn, then trigger Twilight with Doom and spam Twilight Dance. With 58 Sun + 1 Moon Charges, you'll deal 1.3 B with no Shield, no Fortune's Fury, all Marks (Stay Marked), Defenceless, Gradient Overcharge, Frenzy, and Double Third. - _[Duollison]_ Free aim + Sun Skill to stack 2 Sun Charges per turn. It also lets you easily apply 20 Fortell with free aim (Sucetton only 10 with its 4-hit perk). - _[Sadon]_ It lets you stack 2 Sun Charges per counter (including jump counters). - Among these three, Sucetton is the best for Twilight Dance. First, you can stack more Sun Charges than Duollison and Sadon (the latter is better only if you don't max Sciel's Speed and let Simon play MUCH more often). - Second, Sucetton scales with both Agility and Luck, allowing Sciel to play more often. - Third, it seems that the Sun Charge buff stays even during Twilight (I am not sure how damage is calculated exactly, though). - Nonetheless, this build is weaker than End Slice, because it still needs buff stacking and its damage doesn't compare to End Slice. Also, you may not always have enough APs to cast Twilight Dance.
*Base Attack Build* - Stack Sun Charges with Duollison (free aim + Sun Skill = 2 per turn), trigger Twilight with Doom, buff with Fortune's Fury, and attack. You must stack Burn with Lune first, though (easy with Bonbim, but you must have her shoot a lot). - The problem is that you can do it only once per Twilight (Twilight → Fortune's Fury → attack), and it's much weaker than End Slice (I hit 15 B with 83 Charges -- without Mark but with Gradient Overcharge).
*Best One-Team x100 HP Build* - Other bosses do not require to have two teams. - The best build should be: Verso, Maelle, Sciel. - Maelle because she is OP and doesn't need any setup. - Verso can buff Maelle with Sireso, but prevents the "Mark trick" to get Shell easily. - Sciel can double Maelle's damage with Fortune's Fury, and can use Rush to apply Shell on Maelle (Shell On Rush). - With Litheson, she can also apply Greater Slow. - Verso can debuff with Exposing Attack, and Mark with Marking Shot. - Give Shields only at the beginning (In Medias Res + x2 Shielding Death are enough), because other enemies don't steal them.Quick Simon Divergent x100 HP | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-16 | 0:00 Preview and Intro 1:03 Build 2:07 Phase 1 6:03 Phase 2 10:46 Outro
*PATCH 1.5.6 - READ TOP COMMENT*
Thanks to @jaffinator2166 for suggesting to use Break Point + End Bringer + End Slice!
*NG Speed* - Simon NG has 4330 Speed, 2598 with Greater Slow (-40%). - To out-Speed him, you need 1644 Speed with Rush (+33%) and Greater Rush (+25%). - 99 Luck and Agility give 1274 Speed, so you need Pictos for the missing 370. - Sciel and Maelle need a bit more, because their weapons don't scale with both Agility and Luck. - In the video, I didn't care about Maelle being faster than Simon (sometimes Simon plays twice in a row against her). I just gave her Pictos to get to 1267, to be close to Lune's Speed (1274 Lune). - Monoco and Verso have 1820 and Sciel 1807 (with Pictos). - In hindsight, it would have been better to exactly match Speeds: Sciel's = Monoco's = Verso's, and Maelle's = Lune's. For that, just reduce Lune's, Monoco's, and Verso's Luck or Agility.
*NG+5 Speed* - Simon NG+5 has 13434 Speed, 8060.4 with Greater Slow (-40%). - To keep him stunlocked, Verso needs 5101.5 Speed with Greater Rush (+58%). - 99 Luck and Agility give 1274 Speed. - With high-level high-Speed Pictos, reaching 5105.5 is not a problem, see youtube.com/watch?v=8DzIx0cGKic - Prioritize Verso's Speed, then Sciel's, then Monoco's. It is ok if Monoco plays half turns, because he doesn't need to apply Slow at every turn.
*Build Notes* - [Maelle] Roulette deals 25% more damage on average: 2 x 0.5 + 0.5 x 0.5 = 1.25. - [Maelle] Draining Cleanse removes Feint's Barbapapa but consumes 1 AP, reducing Esqium's buff. To fix this, equip Energizing Gradient (triggered by Gradient Overcharge). More info in the description here youtu.be/aIx4POp9WK8 - [Maelle] Rewarding Mark + Burning Mark + Energizing Burn + Energy Master to gain AP during Burning Canvas for Powered Attack. - [Maelle] Powerful Mark + Rush On Powerful + Shell On Rush to keep Egide (Shell). - [Lune] Marking is her priority (better Marked than Defenceless). - [Verso] Sireso has three bugs. First, Powerful cancels it (don't trigger Powerful on Sciel). Second, Verso can't die with Auto Death (Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). Third, Verso can't have Auto Powerful (Powerful Revive or SOS Power are fine). - [Verso, Monoco] If you don't have a Strong Healing Tint, equip Effective Heal to die while Inverted. - [Monoco, Verso] Powerful Mark + Rush On Powerful + Longer Rush to always have Rush. The Mark is not removed when hitting Invulnerable enemies (Simon, Clea). - [Sciel] No Powerful because of Sireso's bug. - [Monoco, Verso] No Auto Death because Simon's erase happens before Second Chance is triggered at the beginning of the second phase.
*End Slice* - Its damage is multiplied by (1 + 0.2 x FORETELL), while Twilight buff is (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - FORETELL is the total number of Foretell _consumed_ during the fight (not the ones currently on the enemy). - If you always apply 10 Foretell before Harvest: (1 + 0.2 x CHARGES x 10) x (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - The x10 multiplier tells how massive the buff given by Foretell consumption is. - youtu.be/2XUOgto-TXI
*Simon's Mechanics* - He always attacks first with his lightspeed attack. - He plays a turn immediately after a character dies. If you have Auto Death + Revive Paradox, he'll play twice at the beginning instead of once. - The last hit of the lightspeed attack and Sword of Lumiere erases from the Canvas. - Except for his very first turn, he uses these attacks only during the second phase. - If you Break him, he becomes Invulnerable, and he will become vulnerable again only after he attacks. - If you stunlock him, he will stay Invulerable "forever". You HAVE TO let him un-Stun and attack to make him vulnerable again.
*Attacks And Follow-Up Hits* - youtu.be/sp8AN-Qx30Y - Every hit of his combos (Short, Long, Powerful) can have 3 follow-ups at regular intervals. - Before every hit, 4 "light pillars / thunders" will quickly appear behind him. - The first (white) denotes the "main hit" and will always be there. - In addition to that, there can be 3 more: green, red, yellow (in this order). - If a pillar appears, there will be the corresponding follow-up hit. - For example: white, green, red, yellow → parry, parry, parry, parry. - Or: white, red → parry, pause, parry, pause. - The tempo between "main" hits depends on the combo (Short, Long, Powerful). - However, the intervals BETWEEN FOLLOW-UPS are always the same WITHIN A COMBO. - The lightspeed attack can only have 1 follow-up (the pillars appears at the very beginning, and it refers to all the hits of the attack). - The Sword of Lumiere can only have 1 follow-up (the pillars appears after the first two hits, and it refers to all the hits of the attack).Parry Practice Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-09 | 0:00 Guide 1:52 Build 2:20 P1 Skip 3:30 P1 Skip Build
*Important Notes!* - You must repeat Guard Up + Egide to stay in Defensive Stance (Egide + skip or Egide + Egide will make Maelle Stanceless). - Mark wears off after five Simon's turns, so better to cast Marking Shot with Verso instead of skipping. - Equip Healing Fire + Burning Mark + Longer Burn + Powerful Mark + Healing Boon + Energizing Burn + Energizing Powerful + Rewarding Mark and shoot to heal (you'll get APs back). Shoot twice: first to apply Burn and Powerful, then to trigger Healing Fire. (Note that these heals are not shared via Healing Share.) - Powerful (Skill) heals Maelle thanks to Healing Boon. If you equipped high-Health Pictos on Maelle (as in the video), that's the best way to heal her with Verso. Otherwise, Perfect Recovery + Healing Share also heals her (proportionally to Verso's HP). - You can remove SOS Shell, not needed.
*Build Notes* - Auto Shell and Energizing Start on Maelle to be safer during the first attack. - Same reason why Verso has defensive Luminas and Pictos, even though he won't parry after the first attack. - Double Mark and Stay Marked on Maelle, so she can heal when she counters. However, *do not jump attack if Maelle is at full HP* (you'll waste a heal and remove Enfeebling Mark, unless Simon has Shields). - Energizing Pain because Maelle already gets Shields with parrying: she parries → Shield (safe for next hit), she misses → AP (will trigger Defensive Mode on next hit). - Rush on Powerful on Verso to apply Greater Rush with his Powerful Skill. - Clea's Life on Verso to make Simon gather Chroma around him as well. However, this will happen only after you run out of Healing Tint, when Maelle won't be at full HP (Simon gathers Chroma around the character with the most HP). - Regarding the one-shot build, it is worth noting that Sciel and Monoco gain Gradient Charges with Burning Mark + Powerful Mark + Charging Mark + Charging Burn + Charging Alteration + SOS Power. - SOS Power will always be triggered on one of them, because Simon will never gather Chroma around Lune (she starts at 1 HP thanks to Auto Death + Survivor).
*NG+5 Notes* - Simon deals 750-1,150 per hit to Maelle (different attacks deal different damage). His hits can also be critical. - Let's make an average: 950 average damage per hit, that becomes a bit less than 1,200 accounting for criticals. - Simon on NG+5 has x4 ATK, so will hit x4 harder: 4,800 per hit. - Maelle has 19,000 HP, meaning she has to miss 4 parries in a row to die. - (Probably more, because on NG+5 you have higher-level Pictos with better Stats.) - Even then, you'll trigger SOS Shielding Tint 8 times first. Each heals fully and gives 2 Shields. - So, you'll have to miss 4 + (2 + 4) x 8 = 52 times in a row to die. - On NG+5 with max Speed and Greater Rush, Simon can play at most two turns in a row. - His attacks are multi-hit, with his long combo hitting *at most* 24 times. - Considering that Maelle fully heals with Clea's Life and that he never plays twice in a row if you maximize your Speed + Greater Rush + Greater Slow (even on NG+5), you should manage to practice for a while before you run out of Tints as long as you manage to land a few parries.
*Health or Defense Pictos?* - Tbh I am not really sure. - In the video, I max Health on Maelle (and a bit of Defense), and do the opposite for Verso. - I tried maxxing Defense and the result was: half HP and half damage. So I guess it doesn't really matter.
*Alternative Build* - Verso with Esquiso, Luminas to shoot a lot, Revive Paradox, and Light Holder. - Get to Rank A with free aim, use Light Holder for Rank S, parry or die/revive. - It won't work against Simon, though, because Simon will play immediately after Verso revives (before Revive Paradox). - It won't work against Lampmaster too, because Revive Paradox won't work on its special turns. - Do not equip Cheater against Duolliste, or it will ignore Revive Paradox during his second phase. - In general, it's a much slower build and I don't recommend it, because Verso will die much more easily than Maelle (no Shields on parry). Our Sacrifice Easy Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-08 | Improved and revised version of @Expeditioner_33's build youtube.com/watch?v=JS6REsRpa64 Thanks to @AlexXd18492 for telling me about it!
*PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso and Martenon bugs have been fixed (except for one, see below). - On one hand, you can use Greater Powerful for x1.4 damage. - You can also trigger Twilight sooner and still benefit from Inverted Affinity + Tainted. This gives you 50% + 15% = 65% additive buff. - However, you generate half Foretell (bug fixed). - If you do as in the video, you generate 12 Foretell. If you attack on the third turn (skip one Dark Cleansing), you generate 8. - Each Foretell buffs Our Sacrifice by 30% (additive). Because 4 x 30 = 120%, it's better to still take one extra turn to generate more Foretell, rather than keeping Inverted by attacking on the third turn (only 65% buff). - Regardless, this build is now weaker, because you'll have only 12 Fortell instead of 20. The total damage (with Greater Powerful) is now 162 M. - This is now weaker than Stendhal (post v1.5.6): youtu.be/sfsbMqApcmU
*Comments* - Our Sacrifice is the best non-DLC Skill: not only it's strong, but it also hits all enemies (unlike Stendhal) and doesn't require many turns to be maxxed (unlike Lampmaster Light). - However, it falls short compared to multi-hit Skills after DLC new Pictos (Feint, Frenzy, Double Third; check the video below). - Nonetheless, it is still great for turn manipulation, because it can trigger Shortcut on *two* characters at the same time. Check the videos below to see how I used it against some DLC superbosses.
*Notes* - Our Sacrifice is buffed (additively) by 30% per Foretell. Foretell are applied (in this build) via Martenon, so it's better to spend more turns getting Charges (regardless of the bug described below). - Spending one extra turn and attacking on Sciel's fourth turn gives 2 more Charges (50% buff) and more Foretell, better than attacking on the third turn with Inverted Affinity (50%) and Tainted (15%).
*Sireso Bugs* - *FIXED IN v.1.5.6!* Bug #1: Powerful cancels it. For example, if Sciel has Powerful she won't get the buff. - Bug #2: dying and reviving Verso with Auto Death will prevent it. It works fine with Inverted Affinity + Strong Healing Tint. If your Tint is not Strong, equip Effective Heal. - *FIXED IN v.1.5.6!* Bug #3: Auto Powerful on Verso also prevents it, that's why I use SOS Power (Powerful helps with reaching Rank S thanks to Sireso's perk).
*Martenon Bug* - *FIXED IN v.1.5.6!* If you trigger Twilight at a first turn, Martenon will not deal damage and will not apply Foretell. This is why you must trigger at the beginning of a Cheater turn. - *FIXED IN v.1.5.6!* It applies 4 Foretell per Charges on Twilight (instead of 2, as its descriptions says). This is why Simon has 20 Foretell instead of 12 (Sciel has only 6 Charges).Play I̵m̵m̵e̵d̵i̵a̵t̵e̵l̵y̵ Forever | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-08 | 0:00 Guide 3:13 Build
*PATCH 1.5.6 - READ TOP COMMENT*
Below, the step-by-step guide and explanation. More notes in the pinned comment.
*Phase 1 - Guide* - _[Note]_ Everyone with max HP. - _[Note]_ Everyone with Auto Shell to trigger Charging Alteration (no Auto Powerful on Verso and Maelle, see Sireso's bugs in the pinned comment). - _[Note]_ Maelle has Powered Attack, so she will shoot only to hit Marks and get APs + Charges thanks to: Rewarding Mark + Burning Mark + Energizing Mark + Charging Mark + Charging Burn. - Verso shoots for Burn, attacks for Defenceless, and give Shields to Maelle with a Healing Tint. - Maelle uses Swift Stride. - _[Note]_ This triggers Mark (Esqium's perk) *before* the hit. Hitting the Mark makes her start with 9 APs for max Esqium's buff (1 AP is consumed by Draining Cleanse, more on this in the pinned comment), and with max Gradient Charges. - _[Note]_ A worse alternative is to Mark with Verso, hit the Mark for APs, then use Gustave's Homage. This hits harder than Swift Stride, but Maelle will start next turn with fewer APs for a much lower Burning Canvas damage. - Burning Canvas (AP Discount reduces its cost to 4 APs). - *[RNG #1]* With 50-60 Burn stacks, you'll hit between 40-70% of Duolliste HP, depending how many times Stay Marked is triggered. If you deal less damage (for example because you stacked few Burns and the Mark never stays), restart. - Sciel Marks (Double) so that Maelle can hit it for APs, then uses Intervention on Maelle. - _[Note]_ Do not play her second turn, or Inverted won't last long enough. - Maelle uses a Healing Tint on Sciel. - _[Note]_ This will hit her (Inverted), but she will survive (Survivor) and trigger Shortcut. - Maelle hits the Mark (APs) and uses Gustave's Homage (Virtuose). - _[Note]_ Here, she uses Gustave's Homage because it's stronger than Swift Stride and she doesn't have to worry about APs (Sciel's Intervention will give 4 APs). - Sciel removes the Mark, then uses Intervention on Maelle. - _[Note]_ Do not play her second turn, or Inverted won't last long enough. - _[Note]_ If you don't remove the Mark, it may stay multiple times during the next Burning Canvas, potentially killing Duollistes too soon. This is also why Sciel doesn't have Stay Marked. - Maelle uses Burning Canvas. - _[Note]_ Hitting or missing the QTE depends on how much HP Duollistes have left: 30% HP → miss, 45% or more → perfect hit, 30-45% → non-perfect hit. - Maelle shoots once for Charging Critical, then uses a Healing Tint on Sciel. - _[Note]_ Maelle has Protecting Tint to trigger Charging Alteration (she'll need Charges later). - _[Note]_ This will kill Sciel (Inverted), but she will revive and play again (Second Chance + Revive Paradox). - Shoot for Gradient Charges, then Intervention on Maelle who uses Burning Canvas. - _[Note]_ Whether to leave the Mark or not depends on how much HP Duollistes have left. Same for hitting or missing the QTE. - Finally, Maelle shoots for Charging Critical and ends the first phase with Gommage (Virtuose).
*Phase 2 - Intro* - Duolliste starts without any turn, and your next character in queue will play first. - _[Note]_ This is why Sciel must have higher Speed then Verso: if not, Verso will be next in queue. - Duolliste then plays one turn immediately after every turn you play. - If your first character is also the one who played last in the first phase, Cheater won't work and you'll only play one turn before Duolliste. - _[Note]_ This is why Sciel must play a "brand new turn" and can't be the one ending the first phase. - If Duolliste gets a turn (after your turn ends), any turn manipulation (Shortcut, Revive Paradox, Intervention) will *NOT* make you play before it. To make them work, you must manipulate turns at the very beginning.
*Phase 2 - Guide* - Sciel shoots for Burn, then uses Our Sacrifice. - _[Note]_ This triggers Shortcut on Verso and Maelle. Verso will play before Maelle because he was queued before her. - _[Note]_ This is triggered *before* Duolliste's special mechanic, so the new queue is: Verso, Maelle, Duolliste. - Sciel shoots for Burn, then uses Fortune's Fury on Maelle. - Verso shoots for Burn, then dies and revives with a Healing Tint. - _[Note]_ Revive Paradox works because Verso was already queued before Duolliste. Turns were: Verso, Verso (Cheater), Maelle, Duolliste. Now they are: Verso (Revive Paradox), Verso (Cheater), Maelle, Duolliste. - Verso shoots for Burn (up to 100), attacks for Defenceless, then Marks with Marking Shot. - Maelle one-shots with Burning Canvas. - *[RNG #2]* Burning Canvas will one-shot only if the Mark stays until the end. If it stays once but not until the end, you'll need one more Burning Canvas to kill Duolliste. If it never stays, the second Burning Canvas will not be enough and the run will fail.Easy Chromatic Lampmaster (New) | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-07 | 0:00 Guide 2:24 Explanation 3:22 Build
No Roulette, works on any NG and has no special requirements. Esqium, Esquim, and all Pictos are easily obtainable (First Life and Clea's Death are not necessary).
*How Lampmaster's Turns Work* - It will use the five "gourd-shaped lamps" on its back to heal, so you'll have to kill it five times. - Healing also clears Statuses appearing TO THE LEFT of its healtbar (like Mark and Burn) but not the ones appearing TO THE RIGHT (like Defenceless). - After every turn you'll play, you'll hear a sound and one lamp will light up. - After your fifth turn, the Lampmaster will attack twice no matter whose turn is next (unless its a turn triggered by the "play again" effect like Cheater's -- but not "play immediately" like Shortcut). - Forcing it to heal and destroying a lamp does not stop this countdown. - After this stage is triggered, the Lampmaster gets one turn for every turn you play.
*How This Build Works* - The trick is to trigger extra turns with Shortcut *before* Lampmaster's extra turns are triggered. - To make both Lune and Maelle play again, the only option is to use Sciel's Our Sacrifice to trigger Shortcut. - This is why Lune and Maelle must start at full HP (and must have Full Strength). - Sciel casts Our Sacrifice at your fifth turn, *before* the Lampmaster gets its turns. - Then, casting Intervention on Maelle stacks more turns because Maelle will already play *before* the Lampmaster. - Maelle is mandatory because she is the only one who can one-shot two turns in a row with Gustave's Homage and Burning Canvas. - Lune can either use Esquim or Cleim, it doesn't matter. Verso with Simoso + Steeled Strike also works.
*NG+5 Notes* I am on NG (superbosses HP do not change with difficulty) and to simulate NG+5 I enabled the x5 HP modifier (more than NG+5 HP). Speed doesn't matter because the Lampmaster never gets to play.Expeditioners Go Solo | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-05 | - NG x20 HP = 1,545,400,000 (P1) and 3,090,800,000 (P2). - No Roulette.
*Why Duolliste* - P2 unique mechanic (Duolliste gets one turn for every turn you play) does not penalize low-Speed characters (Monoco) too much. - Two enemies in P1 favor multi-target Skills (Lampmaster Light, Elemental Genesis) and characters who can apply Slow on all (Lune and Monoco). - One enemy in P2 favors characters who can apply Defenceless (Maelle and Monoco). - (Slowing and Exposing Attacks are useless because they last 1 turn.)
*Build* - Two "side" characters with Auto Death + Clea's Death + Shielding Death. - The solo build is basically the same for everyone: max damage, max Gradient Charges (for Overcharge), trigger AP/Buffs/Burn/Mark with free aim. - Relevant "gunslinger" Luminas are: Burning/Marking/Protecting/Accelerating/Powerful Shot, Energizing Rush/Shell/Powerful/Shot/Burn, Beneficial Contamination, Energy Master, Rewarding Mark, Trigger-happy. - Powerful Mark to ensure Powerful. - Burning helps with passive damage. Relevant Luminas: Burning Mark, Double Burn, Longer Burn, Double Mark, Stay Marked. - However, I removed Accelerating Shots + Energizing Rush to parry more (I'm on NG). - Lune and Monoco apply Greater Slow, though. It would be unfair not to do so, since it's one of their strengths. - For the same reason, Maelle / Monoco apply Greater Defenceless. - Characters with Feint also have Draining Cleanse. Replacing Draining Cleanse with Inverted Affinity + Tainted increases damage at the first Skill cast, but it's worse in the long run because Inverted only lasts 3 turns. Check this video description for more details about it youtube.com/watch?v=aIx4POp9WK8
*Strategy* Use Skills AFTER parrying (Empowering Parry + Gradient Overcharge). - Monoco: Benisseur Mortar → parry → Lampmaster Light. - Maelle: Last Chance → parry → Burning Canvas. - Verso: Steeled Strike (charge) → parry → Steeled Strike (attack). - Lune: Elemental Trick → parry → Elemental Genesis / Lightning Dance. - Sciel: doesn't matter, she counters and spams Twilight Dance. The only exception is the beginning of P2. Because you'll end P1 with a Skill, you'll play only one turn (Cheater turn) before Duolliste. In this case, it's better to spend one turn debuffing, if possible. - Monoco: Lampmaster Light (even if not Almighty) → parry → Grosse Tete Whack → Benisseur Mortar. - Maelle: Last Chance → parry → shots + Guard Down → Last Chance.
*Sciel* - Time: 16:05 | Parries: 368 - Sadon + Final Path (FP) + Twilight Dance (TD). - Cons: her Skills are weak (especially because most are one-hit). - Pros: TD lets you stay in Twilight forever; Twilight buffs counters and Burn as well. Stack Sun Charges with Sadon (two per counter, including jump counters), then trigger Twilight and rely on counters for most damage (I hit 387 M with one counter in the video). TD won't be buffed with Foretell, but that's ok. More on this in the pinned comment.
*Lune* - Time: 11:46 | Parries: 244 - Cleim + Elemental Trick (ET) + Elemental Genesis (EG) + Lightning Dance (LD) + Crippling Tsunami (CT). - Cons: none. - Pros: EG is STRONG against multiple enemies (and pairs well with Cleim that ignores resistances); can apply Slow. Esquim is better for one-shotting, but worse for long runs. Its buff resets with ET/EG, and using Skills without consuming Stains is not worth it. Dark Stains take an extra turns to be gained (base attack), can't be used for EG, and using them resets the buff. Cleim's, instead, gives x4 damage (4 Stains buff + extra hit) quickly.
*Verso* - Time: 13:23 | Parries: 313 - Simoso + Steleed Strike (SS) + Overload (OL). - Cons: SS is costly, so Verso can't shoot much (harder to Mark). - Pros: S Rank x3 damage buffs counters and Burn too; OL triggers Shortcut for an extra turn (only once). End Bringer is better than SS against Stunned enemies (but Duolliste cannot be Stunned).
*Maelle* - Time: 6:21 | Parries: 122 - Esqium + Burning Canvas (BC) + Last Chance (LC) + Guard Down (GD). - Cons: BC damage depends on Burn stacks, and it's hard to max it quickly without supporting characters. - Pros: BC + Esquim is broken; Virtuose x3 damage buffs counters and Burn too; Esqium's Mark perk is great for always having Powerful (with Powerful Mark); can apply Defenceless; LC triggers Shortcut for an extra turn (only once). Note that switching to Virtuose with (Marked) Gustave's Homage can be better, but shooting + LC is faster.
*Monoco* - Time: 17:40 | Parries: 369 - Baguettaro + Lampmaster Light (LL) + Benisseur Mortar (BM) + Chevaliere Ice (CI) + Grosse Tete Whack (GTW). - Cons: takes time to be maxxed; lowest Speed (LOTS of parries in P1); must Mark to move to Almighty. - Pros: can apply Slow and Defenceless; lots of Burn help with passive damage. LL damage increases with successive casts, maxxing out after 5 casts (CI lets you play your second time sooner for an extra cast).Sucreso OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-02 | 0:00 Preview 0:17 Build 1:00 Guide
Sucreso's buff is additive: it is added to other buffs like Tainted, Warming Up, Inverted Affinity, ... Thus, damage increase is not proportional to number of stacks. Given all additive buffs of this build, it takes more than 40 rank ups (10 turns) to exceed Rank S buff (x3 flat increase). Even so, Simoso's follow-up hit grants x2 damage, so you'd have to double that. Check the pinned comment here for more details about additive and multiplicative buffs youtu.be/GjBoj_gC7mM
I calculated End Bringer expected damage following this comparison youtu.be/aIx4POp9WK8
However, Clea's Death is also additive, meaning it will take many deaths to exceed Fortune's Fury (multiplicative buff).Baguettaro OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2026-01-01 | 0:00 Preview 0:23 Build 1:12 Guide
*PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso's bug has been partially fixed and it does not conflict with (Greater) Powerful anymore. - However, Sireso requires Verso, meaning you must replace Solo Fighter with Teamwork (less buff), and you cannot stack Clea's Death. - In the long run, Sireso is worse than stacking infinitely many Clea's Death. - But it's better given the same number of turns youtu.be/5iCgAknvUeE
Baguettaro's Almighty buff is additive: it is added to other buffs like Tainted, Warming Up, Inverted Affinity, ... Thus, damage increase is not proportional to number of stacks Check the pinned comment here for more details about additive and multiplicative buffs youtu.be/GjBoj_gC7mM
However, Clea's Death is also additive, and it will take many deaths to exceed Fortune's Fury (multiplicative buff). On the top of that, you'll cast Benisseur Mortar less often (no Intervention).
*Build Notes* - 100 Burn are enough for max Baguettaro's buff, but too much Burn is a problem. - Monoco will apply Burn every time Benisseur Mortar is critical (= 3 Burn every time). Then, moving to Almighty will double Burn on all enemies. - Beside potentially killing Mask Keeper too soon (he is weak to Fire), too much Burn will make the game lag or even crash. - Past 100,000 Burn, the game will lag every time it has to compute Burn damage (the more Burn, the longer the lag). The more Burn, the longer the lag. At some point, the game will freeze and you'll have to restart it. - Check here for more info youtu.be/mYLUUBxuH-k - To prevent crashes DO NOT EQUIP DOUBLE BURN! - You will still need Longer Burn (better on Monoco who always Burns) to have 100+ Burn on the Moissonneuse at the end. - To keep Mask Keeper alive have Lune attack him with Consuming Attack. Do this before you stack 100 Burn and you'll be fine. - Do not use Combo Attack Luminas or attacking will get rid of Marks (needed for Benisseur Mortar). - Anyway, everything is detailed in the video :)
*Burn Fun Facts* - If a character without Painted Power (CH1) will apply the first Burn of stack, Burn damage will be capped to 9,999 (even if a character with Painted Power (CH2) will apply it). Once the stacks applied by CH1 wears off, damage is computed correctly. This does not happen if CH1 applies Burn after CH2. - The Burn icon will disappear if you stack 2,147,483,648 Burn or more (see - Check here for more info youtu.be/mYLUUBxuH-k). - Burn damage is capped. It's not a hard cap, though, so calculations still happen and cause problems with large numbers. You can read more here reddit.com/r/expedition33/comments/1kl6za8/burn_damage_calculation
*Lampmaster Light Notes* - Its damage increases with successive casts according to _DAMAGE x (1 + 2 x PAST_CASTS)_ and caps at _PAST_CASTS = 5_ (can also be non-consecutive). - This increase is multiplicative: from the 6th cast on, Lampmaster Light will hit x11 harder than the 1st cast. - At its max strength (in Almighty), it is the strongest "base" Skill in the game. - Only End Slice and Burning Canvas are stronger. The first because it can be buffed by consuming Foretell, the second because of Feint + Frenzy + Double Third. - Check here for more info docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s73anX98Gj-nJxvTSZxEDDnMJCpdWPEDPzXHxUQR99w/edit?gid=927591820#gid=927591820Esquim OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-30 | 0:00 Preview 0:31 Build 1:18 Guide

- This is not a max damage video, but a guide for the best way to buff Lune with Esquim. - Lightning Dance is stronger than Sky Break but the Moissonneuse dies before all hits (12) land. - Beside Clea's Death buff stacking, the trick is to lock 3 Dark Stains: this way, you can freely use any Skill that consumes 2/3 Stains without resetting the buff (because you won't actually consume them). - Use Rebirth to revive Maelle and Lightning Dance to attack. When both Mask Keeper and Dualliste are below 50% HP, idle with Revitalization. Finally, lock 4 Dark Stains before Sky Break. - Note that casting Rebirth or Revitalization with 4 Dark Stains will not consume them (because they don't do any damage), but will still reset Esquim's buff (the Skills will glow and they'll cost 0 APs). - Elemental Trick resets the buff as well, even though it doesn't consume any Stain (not sure if bugged). - Sky Break can be further buffed if you trigger Gradient Overcharge and then shoot the Stunned Moissenneuse to get 3 Charges back. With Charging Stun + all relevant Charging Luminas, you'll have to shoot 33 times. - However, the Moissonneuse will die before you even shoot that much (even with x100 HP). - Also, shooting 33 times and Marking requires a good amount of luck.Duollison OP Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-29 | 0:00 Preview 0:38 Build 1:33 Guide

After hitting 3 billions with a 4-hit combo base attack and a basic build youtube.com/watch?v=aIx4POp9WK8 I wanted to check how strong Duollison can be if buffed properly like Maelle's Burning Canvas youtu.be/EvaVrsqtMjo
The answer: likely stronger than Maelle, if you are willing to buff for a little longer. -With Duollison, Sciel is probably the best solo-er, because you can trigger Twilight in 1 turn (shooting applies 1 Sun Charge, base attack 1 Moon Charge): shoot to burn + Foretell + Sun → attack to consume Burn + Foretell + Twilight → repeat, but when you are in Twilight Foretell stay.- Forget that, Duollison is not great for solo runs youtu.be/8o25MtVBioc
If you want to replicate this exact build and you are not on NG, you will have to tune Sciel's turns, likely spending more turns hitting Mask Keeper and Dualliste to bring them below 50% HP. Luckily, this will also let you buff Sciel more (more Sun Charges).
Finally, a note that I couldn't fit in the caption. Sciel gets shields with Shielding Death on Maelle. To let Lune die with Hell, though, you must equip her with Shield Affinity: this way, the first hit of Hell will remove the Shields, and the second will kill her.

- This is the best way to buff Maelle (most efficient: within the same time, you will hit the highest number -- no matter how long you buff). - The trick is to stack Clea's Death as much as you want *(but efficiently)* by killing Lune with Hell (miss the QTE) and reviving her. I used the same trick with End Slice youtube.com/watch?v=2XUOgto-TXI - In the video, I limited the revives to 11 (10 Tints + 1 Phoenix Flame, but I could have used 11 Tints), but I could have kept going on and revive Lune with Phoenix Flame. - Marked would have been 25.2 B, but it's very random and I don't like grinding RNG stuff :P - On NG+5, you can parry MUCH more and hit higher numbers, because enemies have more than x3 Speed docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT57Q4iPGKS3zmo7ZWzBdhFasdJtzA4mFk04GW-ITAIVViE1zrzPoGPFVUoNtS13vKFk9AbZwE3u2KX/pubhtml?gid=1440268999&single=true - Equip Draining Cleanse to get rid of Feint's Barbapapa and deal more damage overall (even if you lose Inverted Affinity + Tainted). *PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso + (Greater) Poweful bug has been fixed. - You can also equip Verso with Auto Powerful, but Auto Death still bugs it. - This means you can replace Lune with Verso and use "old" builds with just Sireso + Fortune's Fury for high damage. - However, if you are willing to spend many turns stacking Clea's Death, the build in this video is still the best for highest damage, because Clea's Death can be stacked infinitely. - But, given the same number of turns, is the Sireso build better than the Clea's Death build? - Yes youtu.be/5iCgAknvUeE - Here are some calculations. - Sireso buff is *multiplicative* BUT you must replace Solo Fighter (x1.5) with Teamwork (x1.1). Result: 2 / 1.5 x 1.1 = x1.467 buff. - You can only stack 5 Clea's Death = 125% *additive* buff (not multiplicative). - In the video, I stack 15 Clea's Death, for a total of 375% additive buff. - To check what this difference means, we need to account for all other additive buffs: Empowering Parry (5 x 43 = 215), Empowering Dodge (5 x 7 = 35), Immaculate (30), Powered Attack (20), Inverted Affinity (50), Warming Up (25), Confident Fighter (30), Burn Affinity (25), Tainted (15), First Life (25), Stun Boost (30), Powerful Shield (10 x 9 = 90), Shield Affinity (30) = 620% - Result: (6.20 + 3.75) = x9.95 (no Sireso) vs (6.20 + 1.25) x 1.467 = x10.93 (Sireso + Teamwork - Solo Fighter). - That is, the Sireso build hits (with Mark + Roulette) 25.2 / 9.95 x 10.93 = 27.68 B. - However, in the video I linked above I hit 28.6 B. I actually don't know why :D2.5 Trillions Damage (v1.5) | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-26 | 0:00 Preview 0:22 Build 1:24 Guide 6:53 The End
*What Changed in v1.5* - Breaking Death not triggered when a characters dies with Auto Death. - Sireso's buff (100%) is not working if Verso is dead → no Solo Fighter (50%) and Sireso together. -And it is still canceled by Powerful (40%) → no Sireso and Powerful together.- *This has been fixed in v1.5.6, but in the long run the build in the video is better.* - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed. These buffs were multiplicative: 1.1 x 1.1 x 1.1 x 1.1 = 1.4641 (46.41%). - New buffing Pictos: First Life (25%) and Clea's Death (25%, can be stacked). - New AP-saving Pictos: AP Discount and Trigger-happy.
*How I Adapted the Build* - Stack Clea's Death by having Maelle and Lune repeatedly killing and reviving each other. They are the only two viable characters thanks to Stalum + Phoenix Flame (Maelle) and Hell + Rebirth (Lune). - Verso can revive himself with Esquiso, but he can't kill himself. Having Simon attack him is too random and time consuming. - Clea's Death is additive: it is added to other buffs like Immaculate, Warming Up, Empowering Parry, ... Thus, damage increase is not proportional to number of stacks. - Check the pinned comment here for more details about additive and multiplicative buffs youtu.be/GjBoj_gC7mM - Nonetheless, Clea's Death + Powerful will compensate (and exceed) Sireso's buff (*even after patch 1.5.6*). - Sciel still stunlocks Simon with Delaying Slash while consuming Foretell and stacking Moon Charges, because End Slice damage is multiplied by (1 + 0.2 x FORETELL), while Twilight buff is (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). Note that FORETELL is the total number of Foretell *consumed* during the fight (not the ones currently applied on the enemy). - AP Discount and Trigger-happy make it basically impossible to miss Delaying Slash: shoot 10 times for 10 Foretell → Trigger-happy gives 2 AP → Energy Master makes it 4 → Delaying Slash costs 4 AP with AP Discount. Shooting 10 times is basically guaranteed thanks to Energizing Rush/Shell/Shots/Burn + Burning Shots + Marking Shots + Rewarding Mark + Beneficial Contamination. - To minimize damage and let Simon alive as long as possible, Break Simon and give Sciel Shields only at the end. You could further trigger Powerful at the end (with Empowering Break), but you'd have to remove Powerful Shots + Energizing Powerful.
*Notes* - Sciel must be much faster than Simon for Delaying Slash to work, so equip her with high-Speed Pictos + Greater Rush, and debuff Simon with Greater Slow. - However, on NG+2 and beyond Simon is too fast and cannot be stunlocked (even if you equip DLC Pictos, thanks to @ParagonCA33 for confirming it). - If you want know why Charnon is the best weapon for this, check the top comment of my very first build youtu.be/SmbXEENgeIQ - Duollison is stronger and shooting always applies Foretell, but it also gives you one Sun Charge. This means you can't use Delaying Slash or you'll trigger Twilight.
*Empowering Parry?* - It should be possible to further buff End Slice with Empowering Parry. - The idea would be: Fortune's Fury BEFORE Breaking → Simon attacks Sciel and she parries → Sciel shoots to Break + Mark (Sniper + Marking Break + Double Mark) and uses End Slice. - It's likely that she will kill Simon with the free aim shot, though. You'd have to let Maelle or Lune Break. - Also, giving her Shields would be tricky because Simon would steal them. Either you buff Sciel with only one Shield (Base Shield), or keep Lune and Maelle alive such that they play before Sciel (after Simon has attacked) to give her four Shields (one Shielding Tint each). - Either way, if Lune and Maelle are alive Simon could attack them instead of Sciel. - Also, you can't deal too much damage to Simon or he'll erase the Expedition from the Canvas before attacking.
*Other Bosses?* - Clea can be fought endlessly: if you let her play she will heal herself. This way, you can start over and stack more buffs. - Unfortunately, the only bosses with more HP than Simon are Clea Unleashed, Simon Divergent Star, and Duolliste. But Clea Unleashed takes 1/10th damage, while Simon and Duolliste can't be Stunned. You could stack more Clea's Death + Foretell + Charges against them, but Stun (+ Stun Boost) is a multiplicative buff that greatly increase damage. - Chromatic Moissonneuse (Stage 11 - Trial 1) takes double damage when Stunned, but it has too little HP. You could try keeping Dualliste alive as well, but he also has less HP than Simon.OP Weapons And Skills Damage Comparison | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-24 | *PATCH 1.5.6 - SEE TOP COMMENT*
No Roulette. All hits with Mark unless stated otherwise.
Build at 1:44, captions have info about changes for weapons/characters. Verso (10:07) and Sciel (12:57) need a different setup. More notes in the top comment.
*Simoso's and Cleim's Follow-Up Hits* - Don't appear or are capped if the enemy is already dead. - Example: End Bringer with Simoso shows 448 + 16 + 165. It is actually 448 + 448 + 165 + 165. - 16 M is the HP Osquio had left (appearing at the top-right of his health bar), meaning that the follow-up was capped to match it. - Same for Cleim.
*Additional Hits* - Skills like Lightning Dance can trigger additional hits. - These hits appear in yellow (follow-up hits are in white). - They trigger Feint but not Double Third (bugged?). - Follow-up hits (like Cleim's) copy the damage of the last hit. If an attack has additional hits, follow-ups will copy their damage. - Here is an example with Lightning Dance (6 + 6 hits) + Cleim + Feint + Double Third. F1 F2 ... is the count for Frenzy, D1 D2 ... the count for Double Third. _ 1st: main (F1; D1) + additional (F2) + follow-up _ 2nd: main (F3; D2) + additional (F4) + follow-up _ 3rd: main (F5 → Feint; D3 → Double Third) + additional (F6) + follow-up (no Feint, no Double Third) _ 4th: main (F7; D4) + additional (F8) + follow-up _ 5th: main (F9; D5) + additional (F10 → Feint) + follow-up (Feint) _ 6th: main (F11; D6 → Double Third) + additional (F12) + follow-up (no Double Third)
*Multi-Target Skills* - Only the last target receives follow-up hits. - They increase Feint and Double Third counts like additional hits: Double Third count increases with the hit on the first enemy; Feint count increases with every hit.
*Draining Cleanse + Feint* - Draining Cleanse removes Feint's Barbapapa but also Inverted → no Inverted Affinity (50%) and Tainted (15%). - Worse if the Skill has 10+ hits, because buffing the 10th hit (Feint) with Inverted Affinity + Tainted + Frenzy is better than the damage of the first 4 hits. - Multi-target Skills are an exception, because how counts for Feint and Double Third increase. - Draining Cleanse consumes 1 AP, reducing Esqium's buff. That's why Gustave's Homage (8 hits) is better without it. - *This can be fixed with Energizing Gradient (triggered by Gradient Overcharge), but I didn't do it in the video!*

_Duolliste is the best farming spot (Lumina and Catalysts), and this build works on any NG cycle and grants you the fastest kill._
*Build Notes* - If you don't have Cleim, check the top comment for an alternative NG build. - If you don't have enough Lumina points, equip the most expensive Pictos. For example, equip Cheater and Energy Master on Maelle to bring the needed Luminas from 515 down to 435. You can also remove Augmented Aim (3 points), Stay Marked (10 points), and Warming Up (15 points) for a final cost of 407 Luminas. - For NG+5, Luminas for Gradient Charge are crucial to ensure Maelle triggers Gradient Overcharge at the right time. - For NG+5, you must have almost all the buffs I have to finish the first phase with Phantom Strike and Elemental Genesis. - If you are missing some buff Pictos on Maelle, do these two things on NG+5. First, give Cheater and Shielding Tint to Verso and have him use a Healing Tint on Lune on his extra turn to give her one more shields (= 10% more damage). Second, shoot with Maelle before using any Skill (you can easily deal 10-20M with shots only within three turns). I didn't do any of this in the video to keep the build as "RNG-free" and fast as possible.
*Sireso Bugs* - MOSTLY FIXED IN v1.5.6! - -Powerful cancels it. For example, if Maelle has Powerful she won't get the buff. So don't trigger Powerful on Lune and Maelle if you use Sireso (NG+5 build).- - -Auto Powerful on Verso also bugs it (but not SOS Power or getting Powerful in other ways).- - Thanks to patch v1.5.6, you can equip Greater Poweful to Maelle and Lune for x1.4 damage. This makes the build even cheaper, because you don't need all buffing Luminas in the video. - Note that dying and reviving Verso with Auto Death STILL BUGS SIRESO. It works fine with Inverted Affinity + Strong Healing Tint. If your Tint is not Strong, equip Effective Heal.
*Draining Cleanse* - It gets rid of Feint's Barbapapa, so the first four hits of a Skill will actually deal damage. - However, this will also get rid of Inverted, meaning you'll lose Inverted Affinity and Tainted. - Whether this is better or not, depends on how many hits the Skill has because Frenzy also matters. - If the Skill has only five hits: equip Draining Cleanse. - More info about it in this video description youtu.be/aIx4POp9WK8
*About Phase 2* - Can't be Stunned (Break bar doesn't fill). - Duolliste starts without any turn. - Your next character in queue will play first. (This is why Maelle must have higher Speed then Lune: if not, Lune will be next in queue.) - Duolliste then plays one turn immediately after every turn you play. - If your first character is also the one who played last in the first phase, Cheater won't work and you'll only play one turn before Duolliste. - If Duolliste gets a turn (after your turn ends), any turn manipulation (Shortcut, Revive Paradox, Intervention) will *NOT* make you play before it. - To make them work, you must manipulate turns at the very beginning. For example, say Sciel plays first: Intervention will work if she uses it at her first turn (Duolliste in not queued yet), but it won't if she uses it at her second (Cheater) turn (Duolliste is now queued). - You can find another example here youtu.be/DGWclUmrYC4 where I use Our Sacrifice to make everyone play before Duolliste at the beginning.Easy Simon Divergent Star | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-20 | 0:00 Build 0:55 Guide
*PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso's bug has been partially fixed. It now does not conflict anymore with Powerful, meaning you can equip SOS Power + Greater Poweful to Lune for x1.4 damage. - Auto Powerful on Verso does not bug it either. - HOWEVER, Auto Death on Verso still bugs it.
*Simon's Mechanics* - He always starts first, doing the lightspeed attack. - He plays a turn immediately after a character dies. If you have Auto Death + Revive Paradox (or even + Shortcut) he'll play twice at the beginning instead of once. - The last hit of the lightspeed attack and Sword of Lumiere erases from the Canvas. - He uses these two attacks only during the second phase (except for the first attack of the first phase). - If you Break him, he becomes Invulnerable, and he will become vulnerable again only after he attacks. - If you stunlock him (for example, repeating Break Point + End Bringer), he will stay Invulerable "forever".
- The Sword of Lumiere can only have 1 follow-up (the pillars appears after the first two hits, and it refers to all the hits of the attack).Easy Clea Unleashed | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-18 | 0:00 Build 0:33 Guide
*PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso's bug has been partially fixed. It now does not conflict anymore with Powerful, meaning you can equip SOS Power + Greater Poweful to Maelle for x1.4 damage. - Auto Powerful on Verso does not bug it either. - HOWEVER, Auto Death on Verso still bugs it.
*NG Notes* If you follow this guide, your counters will do too much damage and you'll trigger her second round of attacks. But if you equip high-Speed Pictos you'll have to parry only once, not giving her any chance to do stronger attacks.
*NG+5 Notes* - I am on NG and to simulate NG+5 I enabled the x5 HP modifier and gave myself Speed disadvantages: zero Speed for Sciel, no Speed Pictos, no Rush, no Slow. The full build would have the following additions. _ Everyone with Accelerating Shots + Greater Rush, _ Verso with Slowing Attack and Greater Slow, _ Maelle with Slowing Break and Greater Slow. - With these, you'll actually have to parry *ONLY ONE TURN* on NG, and *ONLY TWO TURNS* on NG+5. - More specifically, you'll need Greater Rush + Greater Slow and around 3500 Speed on NG (thanks @TyrantJ0E) and 4500 on NG+3 (thanks @kentan9387) to counter only once. - Finally, NG+5 have less than x5 HP, so you don't need all the buffing Luminas in the video docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT57Q4iPGKS3zmo7ZWzBdhFasdJtzA4mFk04GW-ITAIVViE1zrzPoGPFVUoNtS13vKFk9AbZwE3u2KX/pubhtml?gid=1440268999&single=true
*Build Notes* - To make Clea vulnerable, you must counter her. - She takes 1/10th damage by default (without Shell). - She'll always summon the same Nevrons in random order, and luckily they are easy to parry. - She will buff herself with Shell when you make her vulnerable. - You can't one-shot her unless you use Roulette. - But you can two-shot her without letting her play if you Break her. - Buff Maelle to the max and let her counter to fill Clea's Break Bar. - Then, hit hard with Burning Canvas to fill the Break Bar (this can one-shot with Roulette). - Debuff again with Verso, make Maelle play again with Sciel, and finish Clea with Sniper (to Break) + Burning Canvas. - -Sireso is bugged and Powerful cancels its buff (this is why you must not trigger Powerful on Maelle).- It also doesn't work if Verso dies and revives with Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok (this is why you should not equip Auto Death to him). -And Auto Powerful on Verso also bugs it (but other ways of getting Powerful are fine).- - Everyone has Luminas to gain Gradient Charges to trigger Gradient Overcharge on Maelle.Burning Canvas Build For Easy Billions | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-18 | _*New best build!*_ youtu.be/EvaVrsqtMjo
0:00 Guide 1:20 Burning Canvas 3:51 Build
Basic build for Burning Canvas max damage. To buff it further, stack Empowering Parry (for example, you can dodge + parry Clea Unleashed was much as you want). If you add Second Chance + Breaking Death + SOS Healing Tint + Shielding Tint you'll make any boss easy. For example, check out my NG+5 Lampmaster build youtu.be/5LjLeswOY28
*Sireso Bugs* - Since game release, Sireso's buff does not work if the character had Powerful (= can't trigger Powerful on Maelle). - Now, it also doesn't work if Verso dies and revives with Auto Death, and if Verso has Auto Powerful (other ways of getting Powerful are fine).
*Notes* - Play as many turns as possible to stack Burn, but mind that Burning Canvas buff from Burn stacks is capped (100 for max Buff). - Osquio NG HPx5 because it's easy to fill the Break bar without killing him. - Last Chance twice to stay in Virtuose (Esqium gives Burn on any hit in Virtuose). - Burning Canvas + Feint + Esquim is completely broken. Even more with Gradient Overcharge. - To hit this much, you must Mark first and hope that the Mark stays until the last hit (Stay Marked must be triggered 3 times within 5 hits). - You can further buff Maelle by stacking Empowering Parry (and Roulette, of course). You can use Egide to make sure Maelle gets attacked, but you'll need to change the turn order. - Survivor and Critical Weakness on Maelle are not needed, I forgot to remove them. *Sireso bugfix (v1.5.6) does not improve this build.*
- This means that you either kill it within five turns, or you'll have to parry/dodge/tank. - The first build is designed for NG+ and beyond, the second for NG. No Roulette needed.
*Guide: The First Three Kills* - Maelle will attack with Esqium + Feint. This allows Burning Canvas to one-shot one health bar with just 60 Burn (Virtuose + buffs). - Gustave's Homage is not that strong, so you'll also need Defenceless + Gradient Overcharge (at least for NG+5). - To get Gradient Charges, everyone has Auto Powerful to trigger Charging Alteration at the very beginning. - And someone must play one turn before Maelle to shoot and get Charges. I use Verso because he can stack Burn easily with Confuso. Monoco with Bagettaro is also great. - You MUST Mark before Gustave's Homage, or it won't one-shot on NG+5. This is the only RNG moment of the fight. - Maelle then plays five turns (3 + 2) thanks to Last Chance + Shortcut and Intervention. - Note that Sciel must use Intervention at her first turn. If she does at her second turn, the Lampmaster will play instead (fifth turn trigger).
*Guide: Tanking* - The Lampmaster will always "fly off", killing Verso and Maelle. - Sciel will always survive thanks to Egide + tanking Pictos (SOS Healing Tint + Shielding Tint + Survivor + Solidifying + Shielding Death). - Note that Verso and Sciel are hit by the same killing blow, but Verso's death happens first (he is first in the party) triggering Shielding Death and saving Sciel. Then, Maelle tanks most hits with Egide. - Then, the Lampmaster will attack twice in a row. No matter what it does, Sciel or Verso will always survive at the end. - Maelle will always die because she'll still tank attacks for Sciel. Note that Egide is still active after death, but only for the character she died for (Sciel in my run) -- not sure if bugged. - You need Draining Cleanse on Sciel to prevent Silence (or you won't be able to use Intervention). - The survivor is able to play before the Lampmaster only thanks to BOTH Shortcut and Revive Paradox. This is why Maelle MUST NOT be the survivor -- because she used her Shortcut at the beginning with Last Chance. - If Verso survives, revive Sciel then Maelle, then Sciel uses Intervention on Maelle who will play three turns. DO NOT REVIVE MAELLE FIRST. If you do, Maelle will play only two turns and then Sciel's Intervention will "fail" (Maelle will be pushed up in the turn queue, but won't play immediately). - If Sciel survives, revive Maelle and use Intervention on her.
*Guide: The Last Two Kills* - Before reviving Maelle, shoot for Gradient Charges and Burn, but DO NOT HIT THE SMALL LAMPS THAT RANG! (The ones that you have to hit in the right order to dispel the darkness). If you hit them in the wrong order, the darkness stays even if you Break. - Then, Maelle breaks with Sniper (triggers Fueling Break and Gradient Break). Gradient Overcharge guarantees Burning Canvas to one-shot (even Stanceless). - Finally, Gustave's Homage (even without Mark) + Burning Canvas + Gradient Overcharge.
*NG+5 Notes* I am on NG (Expert, but superbosses HP do not change with difficulty) and to simulate NG+5 I enabled the x5 HP modifier (more than NG+5 HP) and gave myself Speed disadvantages: zero Speed for Sciel and Verso, no Speed Pictos, no Rush, no Slow. The full build would have the following additions. - Everyone with Accelerating Shots + Greater Rush, - Verso with Slowing Attack and Greater Slow, - Maelle with Slowing Break and Greater Slow.
*Final Notes* - You could use Gustave's Homage instead of Egide and equip Shield Affinity for a faster kill. However, there are good chances that everyone will die later. - Simoso at Rank S won't save you because Revive Paradox won't make you play first against the Lampmaster. - Esqiuso's Aureole doesn't stack with Second Chance (not sure if bugged or intended): if you die with the Aureole, Second Chance will be triggered first (you'll be revived by Second Chance and lose the Aureole). Because the Lampmaster ignores Revive Paradox after your fifth turn, Esquiso won't save Verso (Verso would die twice in a row).Duolliste 1.7 B | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-14 | _*Better build without Duollison and for any NG!*_ youtu.be/tkhTwMB1G9c _*Ultimate cheese with x20 HP!_* youtu.be/DGWclUmrYC4
*This is Expert NG with x5 HP modifier,* and Duolliste should has more HP than NG+5 (note that difficulty doesn't matter for Endless Tower DLC bosses, like Simon). However, on NG+ enemies also get progressively higher Speed, and I am not sure if that would be a problem. At 4:05 you can see Sciel gets more turns thanks to Rush, so you may need to equip Greater Rush and high-Speed Pictos to compensate for bosses higher Speed.
Also note that Maelle will have "only" 98% crit rate for the final Burning Canvas (no Defenceless = no Critical Vulnerability). Just equip any Picto to have 100%.
Burning Canvas was always disappointing, because its Burn buff is capped at 100, and Stendhal was always better. Now, some of the DLC new equipment is basically designed for it. - With Esqium, all APs above 4 are consumed to buff damage. - Burning Canvas costs 5 APs, but we can still use it thanks to AP Discount. - With Feint, the first 4 hits of a skill deal 1 damage, but the 5th deals 600% (Burning Canvas hits 5 times). This compensates for First Offensive and Augmented First Strike, which are wasted on the 1 damage.
In the end, this makes Burning Canvas stronger than Stendhal. youtu.be/sfsbMqApcmU With the same build (but without Gradient Overcharge and Frenzy) Stendhal hits only 140M.
Anyway, this is still a basic build, and it is possible to deal more damage with: - Burn Affinity (I forgot it lol). - Powerful Shield (I forgot that too). - First Life Picto on Maelle. - Clea's Death Picto on Sciel. - If you are very lucky, you can Mark with Verso, equip Stay Marked on Maelle, and hope that the Mark stays until the 5th hit. - And of course you can break, apply more shield, apply more Burn stacks, ...Easy Simon One-Shot (v1.5) | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-12-12 | _*READ BELOW!*_
*Works with the latest patch, no DLC equipment needed!* *Alternative build* youtu.be/mfLKDe4wK8g
0:00 Preview 0:13 Build 0:54 Guide
*PATCH 1.5.6* - Sireso's bug has been partially fixed. It now does not conflict anymore with Powerful, meaning you can equip SOS Power + Greater Poweful to Maelle for x1.4 damage. - Auto Powerful on Verso does not bug it either. - HOWEVER, Auto Death on Verso still bugs it.
This is the most minimal yet fast and strong *base game* build in Clair Obscur (no DLC weapons and Pictos). It is designed to maximize damage while keeping Lumina usage to the minimum. This way, you can use it to deal massive damage even if you miss some Pictos, have fewer Lumina points, or have only LV32 weapons (Simon has "only" 45M HP). You can also equip Roulette to deal double damage :)
With a few changes you can hit 141M (197M after v1.5.6). - Equip Shielding Tint on Sciel and use a Healing Tint on Maelle. You'll need one more turn, though, but you can easily get it if you die with a Healing Tint with Inverted Affinity + Shortcut instead of Auto Death. - Have Maelle play one more turn (equip Shortcut) to trigger Warming Up one more time.
*Simon's First Fight* The video shows Simon's SECOND fight. Unfortunately, I have already beaten him and cannot show the full fight, but the strategy is very similar. The main difference is that if you end the first fight at 1 HP, you'll not trigger Shortcut + SOS Power on Verso and Solidifying on Maelle. Since Simon has fewer HP in the first fight, you don't need all the buffs, and you better save the "1 HP buffs" for the second fight (the one in the video).
To replicate my build in the full fight: 1. Skip Last Chance with Maelle in the first fight. (Maelle can't be healed because of Confident Fighter.) 2. For Verso, equip Cheater to recover 30% (or more) HP after Overload in the first fight. Examples: Clea's Life; Perfect Recovery; From Fire with Healing Fire + Recovery + Regen.
Then, follow the video step-by-step for the second fight :)
- Note that Verso needs to trigger SOS Power + Shortcut only to reach Rank S quickly (Sireso's perk give him more Perfection with Powerful). You can also do that by simply equipping him with Luminas that give him APs and let him shoot more. - Before v1.5.6 you could not give him Auto Powerful because it bugged Sireso's passive buff to allies.
*This build won't work on DLC bosses!* For example, The Divergent Star ignores your First Strike and always plays first, and Clea Unleashed cannot be damaged until you parry/dodge all her attacks in one turn.Silksong | Lost Lace Easy Buildcoccobello2025-10-15 | *Video at 1.0.28891 (bugfix increased Wispfire Lantern and Memory Crystal damage).* *Patch 1.0.29242: diving WON'T cancel Plasmified, so you can just inject yourself 9 times right away.*
You can replace Quick Sling with either Druid's Eyes (to be sure to have enough Silk to Craft Bind) or Injector Band (for safer Bind during the second phase). Sawtooth Circlet (it does good damage) and Longclaw are decent alternatives for a more aggressive build.
Do not use Pin Badge for heavy attacks: you'll need Silk to Craft Bind, and it's better to do regular attacks to replenish it.Silksong | Best Rosaries Farming Routescoccobello2025-10-08 | 0:00 Act 2 110 Rosaries per run (22 seconds) → 18000 Rosaries/hour

*This is NG on Expert with x100 HP.* - On NG+ and beyond, Simon has higher Speed and may play more times than you can cast End Bringer (and this may not work). - If so, try using Chevalam or any weapon scaling with both Agility and Luck (to maximize your Speed), - You can also apply Rush on Verso by spending one turn attacking and equipping Empowering Attack + Rush On Powerful + Longer Rush + Greater Rush. - Note that in the video I equip Slowing Break + Greater Slow + high-Speed Pictos.
Before patch 1.3.0, End Bringer was keeping the enemy Stunned only if Verso's Rank was A. Because of that, Verso had to spend one turn doing Overload when he was at Rank S. Now it's not necessary anymore.
Not only that, but End Bringer effect now stacks. That is, the enemy would not un-Stun even if they have more turns in a row (before 1.3.0 they were). For example, if Simon has 3 turns in a row, you'll be safe as long as you have used End Bringer 3 times since Simon's last turn.
Works with any weapon and against any enemy.5.8 Billions Gommage | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-20 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death not triggered if a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff not working if Verso is dead (he also can't die with Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike +10% buffs have been removed. Big thanks to @razayeI for telling me about Dualliste's Inverted and Moissonneuse extra damage.
0:00 Preview 0:24 Build 1:22 Guide 5:14 Gommage
Maelle's Gommage is the strongest "base" attack. Sciel's End Slice can be infinitely buffed by consuming Foretell, and by triggering Twilight with as many Charges as possible (check here for 1.4 TRILLION damage youtu.be/wuBK8TB9xGU).
*Overview* - Bring Mask Keeper below 50% health. - Stun Dualliste and bring him below 50% health. - Maelle parries and dodges to stack buffs. - Dualliste re-applies Inverted. - Sciel dies with Healing Tint + Inverted. - Verso breaks and dies too. - Gommage.
*Explanation* - Chromatic Moissonneuse takes 50% more damage when Stunned. - Dualliste applies Inverted when below 50% health, meaning Maelle can spend two more turns triggering Warming Up, and can use Glaisum. - With Egide, Maelle can parry all incoming attacks (three turns per enemy on NG) to stack Empowering Parry and Empowering Dodge. - When below 50% health, Mask Keeper is aggressive (longer combos = more parries = more buffs). - Duallisted MUST NOT reach his third turn, though, or he'll do a Gradient Attack (cannot be dodged, only countered = no more First Offensive and Augmented First Strike on Gommage). - To prevent that, you either apply Slow (with Sciel's Doom; no Greater Slow) or break him (WITHOUT SLOW). - Maelle is fully buffed. Verso and Sciel are tuned to bring Mask Keeper and Dualliste below 50% health. - Sciel has also max Speed (with Pictos) to use Intervention on Maelle before the enemies' turns (so Maelle can play four turns before Gommage), and to break her shields and Verso's.
*Steps* - Sciel: Auto Death + Breaking Death + Burning Death + Second Chance - Verso: Perfect Break on Dualliste - Verso: Berserk Slash on Dualliste - Sciel: Spectral Sweep on Mask Keeper - Sciel: Dark Wave - Sciel: Shadow Bringer - Maelle (x2): Healing Tint on herself (for shields with Shielding Tint) - Sciel: Dark Wave - Sciel: Intervention on Maelle - Maelle: Egide - Maelle: Last Chance - Maelle: parry all hits BUT ONE (no counter) - Sciel: Dark Wave (to almost kill Mask Keeper) - Sciel: Healing Tint on Verso (to break his shields thanks to Inverted) - Maelle: keep parrying - Dualliste: applies Inverted - Sciel: Healing Tint on herself (to break her shields) - Sciel: Fortune's Fury on Maelle - Sciel: Healint Tint on herself (to die) - Maelle: keep parrying - Verso: Phantom Stars - Verso: Healint Tint on himself (to die) - Maelle: Gommage - Maelle: shoot Mask Keeper (if still alive), then Stendhal on Dualliste
*Guide Notes* - This is the best way I found to make everything work: Luminas and buffs are tuned to bring Dualliste and Mask Keeper below 50% health without killing/breaking them. For example, Final Path would likely break Mask Keeper (= he won't attack = fewer buffs). - Technically, End Bringer is better than Berserk Slash (Sciel would not need to cast Shadow Bringer and Dark Wave to hit Dualliste), but after the latest patch it keeps the enemy Stunned even at Rank S (it should do it only at Rank A). - You could also use Follow Up with a "gunslinger build", but hitting the right amount of damage can be tricky. - On NG+ and beyond, enemies have higher Speed, meaning they will attack you more and you could stack more Empowering Parry and Dodge buffs. However, you have to either keep Dualliste Stunned (with End Bringer) or apply Slow to prevent his Gradient Attack (with Slowing Break or Sciel's Doom). - The order of characters is important: Verso must play before Sciel to break Dualliste (who will take more damage from Sciel because Stunned); Maelle must play before Sciel, so Sciel can use Intervention on Maelle and have her play two more turns (this is why you must NOT give Sciel Revive Paradox). - Verso must act right before Maelle at the end, and his Speed (931) is important. If higher (for example 1000) he will play before Dualliste's last turn (not sure why since Maelle has higher Speed and plays later -- probably Maelle's turn is delayed by Intervention).
*Build Notes* - Glasium has the highest attack and Dualliste re-applies Inverted (so no need to worry about its ability that cleanses Statuses). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike buff any attack by 10%. - -Sireso's buff is currently bugged and Powerful overwrites it, meaning you MUST NOT give Maelle Powerful.- - To trigger Solo Fighter, Verso and Sciel die (and break their shields) thanks to Inverted. However, you must fully upgrade your Healing Tint (to *Strong* Tint) to die when at full HP.3.6 Billions Gommage | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-19 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death not triggered if a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff not working if Verso is dead (he also can't die with Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike +10% buffs have been removed. However, Clea's Death, First Life, and Esqium compensate for them.

Maelle's Gommage is the strongest "base" attack. Sciel's End Slice can be infinitely buffed by stacking and consuming Foretell, and by triggering Twilight with as many Sun/Moon Charges as possible. Check here for 1.4 trillion damage with End Slice youtu.be/wuBK8TB9xGU
With some tweaks, you can hit 5.8B against Chromatic Moissonneuse (Endless Tower, Stage 11, Trial 1) because he takes 50% more damage when Stunned. Check here youtu.be/MckBWKpsTWA
*Steps* - Everyone: Auto Shell + Charging Alteration - Maelle: (→ Warming Up) Edige - Maelle: (→ Warming Up) Last Chance (→ SOS Shell + Charging Alteration) - Parry all hits BUT ONE to not trigger counterattacks, and DO NOT attack on Jump (you must save First Offensive and Augmented First Strike for Gommage) - Sciel: Fortune's Fury on Maelle - Sciel: Healing Tint on Maelle (→ Shielding Tint; Charging Tint; Protecting Tint + Gradient Alteration) - Verso: Overload (→ Rank A; Shortcut; SOS Powerful + Gradient Alteration) - Verso: shoot for Rank S (Sireso gives more Perfection with Powerful), then Healing Tint on Sciel (→ Inverted + Survivor + Shortcut + SOS Shell + Charging Alteration; Charging Tint; Protecting Tint + Charging Alteration) - Verso: Healing Tint on himself (→ Inverted + Breaking Death + Shielding Death + Burning Death + Charging Burn; Charging Tint; Protecting Tint + Charging Alteration) - Sciel: shoot (→ Critical Burn + Critical Moment + Charging Critical; Sniper + Gradient Break + Burning Break + Marking Break + Exposing Break + Greater Defenseless + Charging Burn), then Healing Tint on Maelle (→ Charging Tint; Shielding Tint; Protecting Tint + Gradient Alteration) - Sciel: dies by Curse (→ Shielding Death; Solo Fighter + Last Chance Critical on Maelle) - Maelle: (→ Warming Up) Gommage
*Notes* - Glasium has higher attack power than Melarum, but it cleanses Inverted on switching to Virtuose Stance. - Maelle will take attacks with Egide to parry all hits BUT ONE, to stack Empowering Parry and Empowering Dodge buffs. - Simon steals shields, so you must give shields to Maelle only at the end. - The only way to give her 9 shields is to use Healing Tint + Shielding Tint with Sciel, and have her play 4 turns. - To trigger Solo Fighter Sciel must die, but she cannot die by Healing Tint + Inverted because Inverted Affinity wears off after 3 turns. - This is why you must use Corderon: its Curse will kill her after 4 turns. - Sciel and Verso have the strongest buffs: Fortune's Fury (x2 damage) and Sireso (x2 damage to allies at Rank S, even if he is dead). - -However, Sireso is currently bugged and Powerful overwrites it, meaning you CANNOT give Maelle Powerful.- - Maelle must play first to cast Egide, but then last to be fully buffed before attacking. - For that, allocate Sciel's and Verso's attributes such that they outspeed her by the minimum (Simon must still play all his turns before them). - Sciel must play before Verso, so add everyone to the party in the following order: Maelle → Sciel → Verso. - Most Luminas are for gaining 3 Gradient Charges for Gommage. - You need Double Mark to keep Simon Marked with Sniper + Marking Break (likely bugged). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike buff any attack by 10% (undocumented in-game). - If Simon does his Long Combo twice, you'll be able to hit 3.638B. - On NG+ and beyond Simon has higher Speed, meaning he will attack you more and you could stack more Empowering Parry and Dodge buffs.2.3 Billions Sky Break | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-18 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death not triggered if a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff not working if Verso is dead (he also can't die with Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike +10% buffs have been removed. However, Clea's Death, First Life, and Esquim compensate for them.
*Overview* - Usual buffs (including shield-based, Sireso, undocumented). - Verso goes to Rank S and dies. Sciel waits while Lune generates Dark Stains. - Once Lune has 4 Dark Stains, Sciel buffs her with Fortune's Fury and dies by Curse, then Lune casts Sky Break. - Chromatic Moissonneuse will take MASSIVE damage because he is weak to Darkness and he takes 50% more damage when Stunned. - Dualliste won't die with Sky Break. He has too many HP (if x100) and he is resistant to Darkness.
*How Does Scaverim Work?* - Generating Dark Stains is a pain in the ass. - Every skill consuming Stains has a chance to generate ONE Dark Stain. - For every Stain consumed by the skill, there is a 50% chance to generate a Dark Stain. - Therefore, the more Stains the skill consumes, the higher the chance to get one Dark Stain. - However, once a skill generates a Dark Stain, the remaining consumed Stains will NOT generate further Dark Stains. - For example, Mayhem with 4 Stains CANNOT generate 4 Dark Stains, but ONE AT MOST. Think about it as flipping a coin 4 times, and when you hit head you stop flipping it. - Dark Stain are "locked": once generated, they won't go away until you have 4 and use any skill (or Gradient Attack) to consumed them (with 300% buff). - This means that generating the last Dark Stain can be very annoying, because you can consume only one Stain per skill.
*What's The Best Way to Generate Dark Stains?* - Light Stains are NEVER CONSUMED except by Mayhem. For example, if you have 4 Light Stains and use Crippling Tsunami, you will not consume them to buff its damage (and to generate Dark Stains). - Given that, what I do in the video is the following. - 1. Elemental Trick to generate 4 Stains (with 100% critical rate). - 2. Crippling Tsunami to consume 3 and generate 1 Ice Stain. You now have 2 Ice Stains. - 3. Wildfire to consume the 2 Ice Stains and generate 1 Fire Stain and 1 Light Stain. - 4. Mayhem to consume all. - 5. Elemental Trick to generate 2 Stains. - 6. I then loop between Mayhem and Elemental Trick to get the last Dark Stains. - The best way would probably be to loop between Crippling Tsunami and Wildfire again, but I can't because Powered Attack drains my APs.
*Fight Guide* - That said, the steps to max-buff Lune are tricky, because she needs to spend time generating Dark Stains. - To have them alone and trigger Solo Fighter, Sciel must equip Corderon and die by Curse. However, she also must stay alive enough turns for Lune to have 4 Dark Stains, because she must cast Fortune's Fury right before Sky Break. In order to do everything correctly, you'll need Quick Break and Rush. - Here is how turns must unfold (in the meantime, dodge): _ Lune: Auto Death + Survivor for 1 HP (→ At Death's Door) _ Lune: Elemental Trick _ Lune: Crippling Tsunami _ Verso: Overload (→ Powerful) _ Verso: shoot (→ Rank S thanks to Powerful + Sireso) _ Verso: Strong Healing Tint + Inverted Affinity to die (→ Breaking Death) _ Sciel: Strong Energy Tint on Lune _ Lune: Wildfire _ Lune: Mayhem _ Lune: Elemental Trick _ Lune: Mayhem _ Sciel: Healing Tint on herself (→ Accelerating Tint) _ Lune: Elemental Trick _ Lune: shoot Chromatic Moissonneuse (→ Sniper; he stays Stunned for longer than one turn) _ Sciel: shoot Mark Keeper (→ Sniper, Quick Break; he won't stay Stunned but that's ok) and Fortune's Fury on Lune _ Sciel: die by Curse _ Lune: counter Dualliste (→ Empowering Parry) _ Lune: shoot (→ Sniper) and Sky Break - Kill Dualliste with counters and Lightning Dance (it will take a while because Powered Attack makes it hard to cast skills). _ Keep generating Dark Stains as before, but when you have 4 use Lightning Dance. _ Use Sky Break to generate Light Stains and for some extra damage.
*Notes* - To reach the "Sky Break point" you don't need many of the Luminas I have equipped. All the ones for generating APs (Energizing Rush / Shell / Shots, ... Stay Marked, Marking Shots, Rewarding Mark ...) and Gradient Charges (Charging Mark / Burn, ...) are needed only for Dualliste (otherwise soloing him would take ages).Monoco vs Simon x100 HP | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-16 | *Patch 1.5 fixed Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs. 0:00 Preview 0:35 Build 1:00 Guide 4:03 End
*Build* - Pictos maximize Speed. Sidaro scales with Might and Luck only, so invest the remaining 99 points in Agility for more Speed. - Shots can apply Mark, Burn, Buffs, ... and all these give you AP and Gradient Charges. - Other Luminas increase damage (First Strike, Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork have an undocumented 10% buff). - Base Shield gives you 1 shield at every turn. Simon will always steal it but Burn will break it. - Since it's a relatively long fight, equip Roulette (on average, you'll deal 25% damage: 2 x 0.5 + 0.5 x 0.5 = 1.25). - You can also equip Powered Attack, since you don't need to shoot much (just to Mark, then hitting a Marked enemy will proc Burn, Powerful, Rush, APs, and Gradient Charges). - *I forgot to unequip Perilous Parry, Energizing Gradient, and Shortcut (you don't need them).*
*Steps* - Shoot to proc Buffs, APs, and Gradient Charges. - Use skills to gain further Gradient Charges (more on skills below). - Break with Break Point (breaking will also debuff Simon). - Repeat. Simon will un-Stun but you'll immediately Stun him again with Break Point. - Simon needs a "proper turn" to erase you from the Canvas, so it will never do it during the "un-Stun turn". As long as you break him again before his next turn, he will never do anything. - Monoco's most powerful skill is Lampmaster Light. Its damage increases the more you use it (up to 5 times) and it is MASSIVELY buffed by Almighty Mask (more than Duallist Storm). And it costs only 5 APs. - After Lampmaster Light, shoot to Mark and use Bénisseur Mortar to move the Wheel to Almighty again. - DO NOT USE BENISSEUR MORTAR IF SIMON IS NOT MARKED! If you do, you'll interrupt Sidaro's buff stacking (unless you equip an Agile skill to keep it going). If you run out of APs, just skip (you'll still be safe as long as you'll use Break Point again). - Try to Mark before Break Point and Lampmaster Light for increased damage. You don't have to worry about APs with Break Point, but you'll have to be careful with Lampmaster Light (5 APs; it's better to cast it without Mark than not casting at all).
*Notes* - Most weapons work for this build, but Sidaro is OP. Its ability gives +30% buff for every consecutive upgraded skill, and using Gradient Attacks does not reset it. Since Lampmaster Light moves to Caster and Bénisseur Mortar is a Caster skill, you'll be able to never reset buff stacking. - In the video, Sidaro kept buffings skills until the end (30 skills = +900% buff). Also, since it scales with Might and Luck, you can invest the remaining 99 points in Agility to max Speed. - The second best weapon is Joyaro, thanks to its high attack power and +20% buff ability (that stacks up to +100%). It also lets you start in Almighty Mask, which is convenient.1.4 Trillion Damage | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-15 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Revised build youtu.be/2XUOgto-TXI - Breaking Death not triggered when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff is not working if Verso is dead (he also can't die with Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). This means no Solo Fighter buff. - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed.
*On PS5 the game started lagging BADLY in Quality Mode after a while. Switching to Performance Mode and disabling all visual effects helped, but the game still lagged (especially by the end).*
*Overview* - The goal is to stack as many Foretell and Moon Charges as possible, because End Slice damage is multiplied by (1 + 0.2 x ALL_FORETELL_CONSUMED), while Twilight buff is (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - Stunlock Simon. - Sciel is as efficient as she can be (maximize Foretell and Charges per turn).
*Build* - Sciel uses Charnon, Verso uses Sireso. - Pictos to maximize Sciel's Speed. - Sciel's Luminas maximize damage (First Strike, Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, and Teamwork give an extra undocumented 10% buff) and trigger Shell, Rush, Mark, and Burn to get AP. Critical Stun ensures 100% critical rate. - -*DO NOT trigger Powerful, as it cancels Sireso's buff.* Sireso's buff works even if Verso is dead, so Sciel can trigger Solo Fighter.- - If you want know why Charnon is the best, check my old build youtu.be/SmbXEENgeIQ
*Step 1: Prep* - Verso starts thanks to Auto Death + Survivor + Shortcut. - Overload for Rank A and Powerful (SOS Power), then shoot for Rank S (Sireso gives more Perfection is Verso has Powerful). - *Strong* Healing Tint on Verso to die (Inverted Affinity) and fill the break bar (Breaking Death). - Sciel shoots to break and apply Slow (Sniper + Slowing Break). - In the meantime, Sciel got to 1 HP (Auto Death + Survivor) and shields (In Medias Res + Solidifying, and Shielding Death on Verso). Also, Solo Fighter is now in effect.
*Step 2: Buff Stacking* - Sciel shoots to apply Foretell (Charnon) and consumes them with Delaying Slash. - Thanks to high Speed + Greater Rush + Greater Slow, Simon's turn will be delayed, and you will effectively stunlock him. - You MUST use Delaying Slash right before Simon's turn, otherwise he'll play. - Delaying Slash needs 5 APs, so pay attention to your APs and be sure to have enough to cast it. - Using Delaying Slash when the next turn is yours is not necessary, but helps. If you have less than 5 APs, use Twilight Slash (2 APs) or Dark Cleansing (even though it costs 0 AP, you'll need at least 1 AP because no one has any negative Status). The latter doesn't consume any Foretell but still gives you 1 Moon Charge. - Always miss QTEs to minimize damage and let Simon last longer. - Basically, follow this pattern: _ If Sciel has two turns in a row: shoot to apply 10 Foretell, then use Delaying Slash (if you have 5 AP) or Twilight Slash / Dark Cleansing. _ If next turn is Simon's: shoot until you have 5 APs, then use Delaying Slash. _ Repeat.
*Step 3: Last Buffs and End Slice* - When you have had enough, wait until you have two turns in a row: cast Doom to apply Defenseless, then Delaying Slash as usual. - Wait until you have two turns in a row again: Healing Tint on Sciel to get one more shield (Shielding Tint), then Delaying Slash. - Wait until you have two turns in a row again and 3 Gradient Charges: shoot to Mark, use Fortune's Fury to trigger Twilight, then End Slice. - DO NOT SHOOT TO MARK AFTER TWILIGHT! Sciel will be extremely buffed in Twilight and one shot could kill Simon. If you can't Mark and cast Fortune's Fury in the same turn, wait until the next two turns in a row.
*Longer Stacking* - If you plan to stack as many Foretell and Moon Charge as possible, you want to minimize Sciel's power until the very end (to make Simon survive longer). - If so, unequip In Medias Res, Solidifying, Shielding Death, and give Sciel shields at the end with 5 Healing Tints (use them only when she has two turns in a row). - If you want to stack EVEN MORE Foretell and Moon Charges, fight Clea. Let her un-Stun and attack you until she fully heals -- let her kill Verso to fill the break bar, but DO NOT get Sciel hit (or she'll lose Immaculate). This way, you can start over and stack more buffs. - In 55 minutes, I stacked 307 Moon Charges and 2500+ Foretell (I guess), hitting 1.4T damage. Knowing how End Slice damage is calculated, it is possible to predict (roughly) End Slice damage after farming buffs for N minutes. - For example, you should hit 6.5T in 2 hours and 1Q in 25 hours. However, since damage didn't cap at 4B, it is likely that the limit is MUCH higher than that. If you are curious, search for "uint64 max".Sciel vs Simon x100 HP | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-14 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death is not triggered anymore when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed. *Build* - Shots can apply Mark, Burn, Buffs, ... and all these give you AP and Gradient Charges. - Other Luminas increase damage (First Strike, Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork have an undocumented 10% buff). - Base Shield gives you 1 shield at every turn. Simon will always steal it but Burn will break it.
*Steps* - Shoot to apply Foretell thanks to Charnon. - At the beginning, use any skill to consume Foretell and gain Moon Charges + Gradient Charge (I used Dark Wave). - Parry, dodge, counter. - When you have 2 Gradient Charges, use Doom to apply Slow and Defenseless. - Keep shooting to apply Foretell but now consume them with Delaying Slash: thanks to Greater Slow and Greater Rush, the skill will delay Simon's turn and he'll never attack. - If you want to play it safe, always use Delaying Slash when you have 5 APs left (even if you haven't applied 10 Foretell). If you cannot use Delaying Slash, you'll have to let Simon attack. If he plays three turns, he'll lose Slow and Defenseless and you'll have to use Doom again. - When you have collected enough Foretell and Moon Charge, use Fortune's Fury to trigger Twilight (better if Sciel has two turns in a row). - End Slice (try to Mark with shots first). If you always consume 10 Foretell per skill, 20 Moon Charges are enough to one-shot Simon (x100 HP).Verso vs Simon x100 HP | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-13 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death is not triggered anymore when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed. *Build* - Die + revive + break trick with Auto Death + Second Chance + Revive Paradox + Breaking Death + Sniper. - Turn Verso into a machine gun by gaining AP with shots (shots can apply Mark, Burn, Buffs, ... and all these give you AP). - The remainder Luminas increase damage (First Strike, Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork have an undocumented 10% buff). - Roulette works great for long fights (no one-shot): 2 x 0.5 + 0.5 x 0.5 = 1.25 (that is, you'll deal 25% more damage on average).
*Steps* - Die + revive + break with shot. - While Simon is affected by Slow, you'll play three times in a row. Then, you'll play twice in a row. - Stunlock with End Bringer following this pattern: _ Shoot until you have 6 AP (stop sooner if Simon is Marked), then Overload _ End Bringer _ Simon is Stunned _ End Bringer (you can shoot once or twice to try to Mark) _ Shoot x10 or more, then Follow Up (try to have Simon Marked) _ Repeat - You can also use Angel's Eyes if you want: if you mess up you can die, revive, and break again (unless Simon has less than 30-40% and will erase you). - Note that you won't die immediately if you use Simoso and have Rank S. Instead, you'll have to get hit (Rank goes to A and Verso survives) and then hit again at the next turn (Rank goes to B and Verso dies).
*Notes* - You can also equip Shield Affinity, Powerful Shield, and Base Shield. You'll get 1 shield at every turn (buffing damage), but you'll give up on Burn damage (Simon will steal the shield and Burn will destroy it). You'll deal a bit more damage per turn, but IMHO not worth the time spent for the "Simon steals all shields" animation. - Follow Up is better than Berserk Slash (deals more damage, relies less on Mark, shooting is good for extra damage and Burn). - If you don't have Simoso yet, Corpeso is the second best weapon: it has great attack power and its Burn damage is massive. Without Roulette, you'll hit 20M+ with Follow Up and 10M+ with Burn, the best you can get out of any weapon. However, - With Corpeso, you could replace Follow Up with Base Attacks (with Combo Attack) to stack a massive amount of Burn. Unfortunately, Burn damage caps reddit.com/r/expedition33/comments/1kt1q10/burn_damage_calculation_revision_1One-Shot Counter Build | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-08 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death is not triggered by Auto Death. - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike buffs have been removed.

0:00 Preview 0:19 Simon (Two-Hit) 1:31 Simon (Attempt) 3:01 Simon (Roulette) 3:34 Simon (Maelle + Verso) 5:01 Painted Love 5:39 Dualliste (Gradient) 8:45 Dualliste (Weakness)
*Buff Notes* - Empowering Parry and Dodge stack over enemy turns. - There is no limit to how many Emp. Parry you can stack, but they wear off after your next turn. - You can stack at most 10 Emp. Dodge. - Emp. Parry and Dodge are additive: instead of (1 + 0.05 x DODGES) x (1 + 0.05 x PARRIES), the buff is (1 + 0.05 x (DODGES + PARRIES) + OTHER_ADDITIVE_BUFFS). - To maximize buff, dodge the first hit of a combo to NOT COUNTER, then parry the remainder hits. - Do not waste Augmented First Strike (50%) and First Offensive (50%) on jump attacks! - Expedition counters are weaker (per character) than regular counters. DO NOT COUNTER THEM! - First Strike, Teamwork, Dead Energy II, and Sweet Kill give an undocumented 10% buff each. - According to this comment reddit.com/r/expedition33/comments/1kncatg/comment/msheaaw Gradient counters are 40% stronger than regular ones. - You can't play more than two turns (for example, to trigger Warming Up more times) because Inverted will wear off after the third turn (no Inverted Affinity and Tainted).
*Why Melarum?* - Weapons have a scaling coefficient that is lower for elemental (Void too) weapons -- likely because elemental weapons can already deal more damage to enemies weak to it. - Therefore, a physical weapon with slightly lower attack power is almost always stronger than an elemental one with higher attack power (unless the enemy is weak to it). - Glaisum has the highest attack power and it's physical, but cleanses Inverted on switching to Virtuose (meaning no Inverted Affinity buff).
*Alternative Builds* - As captioned in the video, you can't to one-hit Simon with a counter with *only* Maelle: she cannot stack Empowering Parry and Dodge buffs endlessly, and Defenseless lasts only 3 turns. - *Veremum* applies Defenseless with counters *before* the hit, so you can skip Guard Down, parry/dodge for 5 turns, and counter at the 6th (see my second run). However, this is still not enough: more buffs compensates for Veremum weaker attack power, but the counter hits only 32M. - *Yeverum* is a good alternative for Painted Love (or any boss who does not steal shields) thanks to its ability to give shields with Shell. An easy way to gain them is to equip Auto Shell, SOS Shell, Shell Rush + Rush On Powerful. This way, Yeverum will be buffed more and its counter will be slightly stronger than Melarum's. - *Chalium* and *Jarum* are good too (not against Simon, though), because they buff counters if you have shields. However, their description is wrong and they buff only 10% per shield (not 50%). In the end, their counter is not better than Melarum's. - Between the two, Jarum is slightly better. Despite its higher attack power, Chalium is elemental (lower scaling) and makes you lose shields at the beginning of the turn (meaning In Medias Res will be useless). You can gain more shields if you parry in Defensive Stance, but Virtuose Stance is better. - Jarum also applies Burn on counter, but only *after* the counter (so Burn Affinity will not be triggered immediately). - *Barrier Breaker* can steal shields back from Simon. Let him steal, shoot to Mark and Burn (hopefully), and then every Burn damage at the beginning of his turn will give you all the shields back. This way, you can benefit from Powerful Shield and Shield Affinity. You'll waste First Offensive (not Augmented First Strike), though, but Mark will compensate for it. However, this will still not be enough to one-hit him, and you'll deal around 33M (Barrier Breaker is weaker than Melarum). Also, Barrier Breaker seems bugged: its "switch to Virtuose Stance" ability is not triggered if you steal all shields at once with Mark, but only if you steal one shield at the time. - *Verso's Dreameso* buffs counters by 50% and increases Verso's Rank on counters immediately (the counter itself will be buffed by S-Rank). This means you can use Overload to get A-Rank, and you'll start countering in S-Rank from the beginning. However, he is still not as strong as Maelle.
*Notes on Simon's Attacks and Hits* - Lightspeed attack (10): 6th and 7th come sooner than expected; 8th is delayed; 10th is delayed even more -- *party attack, do not counter.* - Short combo (6): 5th is slightly delayed (Simon jumps higher) -- *do not jump attack.* - Powerful combo (6): nothing to say. - Long combo (12): slightly longer pause between 4th and 5th; shorter pauses until 10th; longer pause before 11th. - Sword of Lumiere (7): 1st and 5th attacks are delayed (Simon spins first); 7th has a clear sound cue.Easy Build for Simon or Any Boss | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-06-02 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - For those who come after youtu.be/sfsbMqApcmU - Breaking Death is not triggered anymore when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff is not applied anymore if Verso is dead (and can't also die and revive Auto Death, but Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint is ok). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed.
This is the most minimal yet fast and strong build in Clair Obscur. It is designed to maximize damage while keeping Lumina usage to the minimum. This way, you can use it to deal massive damage even if you miss some Pictos or have fewer Lumina points.
*Steps* - Have Maelle start first (in the main menu, remove Sciel from the party and put her back in). - Phase 1: Maelle skips; Sciel casts Intervention on Maelle, a Healing Tint on herself, then Intervention on Maelle; Maelle uses Stendhal. - Phase 2: Same, but Maelle uses Last Chance instead of skipping, and Sciel casts Fortune's Fury on Maelle before using the Healing Tint. - Note that if you use Last Chance at the first phase, you won't trigger Solidifying at the second.
*Build* - Maelle's Luminas maximize her damage, while Critical Stun gives her 100% critical rate. - Sciel's Luminas allow her to play three times in a row, and to fully buff Maelle and debuff Simon. After buffing Maelle with Fortune's Fury, she dies thanks to Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint. This triggers Empowering Last Stand on Maelle, Breaking Death, and Second Chance. Thanks to Revive Paradox she immediately plays again and shoots, breaking and debuffing Simon (Mark, Burn, Defenceless). - *TO HAVE SCIEL DIE WITH HEALING TING YOU MUST BE INVERTED AND EITHER* have a *Strong Healing Tint* (expedition33.wiki.fextralife.com/Shape+of+Health) OR equip *The One* OR equip *Effective Heal* . - It works with any of Maelle's weapons, but only LV33 Melarum can hit 163M (Glaisum has higher attack power, but removes Inverted). - If you use Medalum, you can start with Sciel and skip Maelle's Last Chance for a faster (19 seconds) but weaker kill.
*But Melarum's Attack Power Is Not The Highest!* - There is a scaling factor that is constant across all weapons, and it's lower for elemental (Void too) weapons -- likely because elemental weapons can already deal more damage to enemies weak to it. - So, a physical weapon with slightly lower attack power is almost always stronger than an elemental one with higher attack power (unless the enemy is weak to it). - A few weapons have an "undocumented 10% buff" -- for Maelle: Medalum and Yeverum. This user also noticed that reddit.com/r/expedition33/comments/1ktrvvu/comment/mtwcyvy - Glaisum has the highest attack power and it's physical, but cleanses Inverted on switching to Virtuose (meaning no Inverted Affinity buff).
*Notes* - With Roulette you can deal double damage. - Simon has 45,000,000 HP, so it's ok if you are missing some buffing Pictos or even if you have only LV32 weapons. - You need Double Mark to keep the Mark if you break with Sniper (probably bugged). How to Buff End Slice for Maximum Damage | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-05-31 | _*UPDATED BUILD (1.4T in 55m)*_ youtu.be/wuBK8TB9xGU
_*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death is not triggered anymore when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sireso's buff is not applied anymore if Verso dies (even if revives). - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed. New Pictos (Clea's Death and First Life) do not compensate for these. Everything else still works. You can let Simon kill Monoco (not Verso) to trigger Breaking Death and continue as in the video, but then you'll have to revive him.
0:00 Intro 0:38 Setup 2:24 Details 4:19 Final Steps 6:20 End Slice 6:49 Build
*Overview* - The goal is to stack as many Foretell and Moon Charges as possible, because End Slice damage is multiplied by (1 + 0.2 x ALL_FORETELL_CONSUMED), while Twilight buff is (1 + 0.25 x CHARGES). - Stunlock to prevent attacks (animations take time). - Sciel should play as often as possible, and efficiently (maximize Foretell and Charges per turn). - Once the strategy is set, fight Clea to endlessly stack Foretell and Charges. Do as in the video but at the end: let her unstun, heal herself, stun her again, and repeat. Unfortunately, I have already defeated her and cannot try it. - In 19 minutes against Simon, I stacked 75 Moon Charges and 700 Foretell, totaling 40.3B damage. Using the equation above, we can predict damage after farming for N hours with _40.3 / (1 + 0.25 x (1 + 75)) x (1 + 0.25 x (1 + 75 x (60 / 19 x N))) / (1 + 0.2 x 700) x (1 + 0.2 x 700 x (60 / 19 x N))_ - For example, after 6 hours you'll hit *13 TRILLIONS.* It would take around 52 hours to hit *1 QUADRILLION* (if you try, let me know 😁). - Things should even be faster against Clea because she is much slower than Simon, meaning Verso and Monoco can act less often, and Sciel more.
*Steps* - Verso dies and revives to fill the break bar, shoots to break (and apply Slow), and uses Overload for Rank A. Then, repeat the following actions. _ Verso: spam End Bringer to stunlock. When at Rank S, use Overload to bring it back to A. _ Monoco: Lancelier Impale to apply Slow every 2 turns. _ Sciel: shoot to apply 10 Foretell, then use Plentiful Harvest (weakest attack, fail it) to consume them and gain 1 Moon Charge. - If you mess up something (forget to do Lancelier Impale, Overload, or End Bringer) and Simon / Clea is about to unstun, use Sciel's Intervention on Verso to use End Bringer. - If Simon / Clea unstun, use Intervention on Monoco to cast Break Point. - Repeat until Simon / Clea is almost dead. - Against Clea, let her unstun (cast Dark Cleansing in the meantime to gain Moon Charges) and attack you until she fully heals. Then, use Monoco's Break Point to break her again. - If you are worried about being hit, use Monoco's skills to shield / heal, and equip defensive Luminas (like Base Shield, Solidifying, Defensive Mode, ...). - Star over and repeat the cycle. - When you have farmed enough Foretell and Charges, do End Bringer one last time, bring Verso to Rank S by shooting, then apply the following buffs / debuffs while Sciel casts Dark Cleansing. _ Defenseless: Monoco's Hexga Crush. _ Mark: Verso's Marking Shot or Monoco's Gault Fury. _ Shields: Healing Tint on Sciel (thanks to Shielding Tint) and/or Monoco's Cruler Barrier. - Finally Sciel shoots to Burn (Burning Mark), casts Fortune's Fury to trigger Twilight, and uses End Slice.
*Build* - Maximize speed of everyone (prioritize Sciel, then Verso, and last Monoco). - No need to worry about Sciel critical rate thanks to Critical Stun. - Sciel uses Charnon (see pinned comment), Verso Sireso (for its passive buff), Monoco doesn't matter. - Sciel's Luminas maximize damage (First Strike, Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, and Teamwork give an extra undocumented 10% buff) and trigger Shell + Rush to get AP. -*DO NOT trigger Powerful, as it cancels Sireso buff.*- - For Verso, use Auto Death + Revive Paradox + Shortcut to immediately break at the beginning of the battle. Then either Faster Than Strong or Cheater to play twice (when at Rank S, he must lower it with Overload before using End Bringer). - Monoco's Luminas are for debuffing.OP Solo Builds | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-05-26 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ - Breaking Death is not triggered anymore when a characters dies with Auto Death or a Healing Tint. - Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike buffs have been removed. - However, v1.5 added much stronger weapons.
- Showcase against Painted Love because it's faster, but all these builds work against Simon as well. - No parry, no dodge, no hit (the enemy won't even attack). - Win within the fewest turns possible. - ALWAYS work (unless you are REALLY unlucky). - Builds are shown after every fight, and pinned comment has a few more details. - *Your Healing Tint must be fully upgraded (Strong Healing Tint; collect all Shape of Hearth) to die when using it while Inverted.*
*0:00 Maelle* - Weapons: Glaisum (strongest) or Melarum (second strongest). - Turn 0: Auto Death and revive (→ Revive Paradox). - Turn 1: Shoot (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful), then do Last Chance (→ Solidifying, At Death's Door, Shortcut). - Turn 2: Stendhal. - Against Simon first phase, don't use Last Chance or you'll start the second phase at 1 HP and won't trigger Shortcut. Instead: shoot (break), Energy Tint, Stendhal.
*0:41 Verso* - Weapons: most of them. - Turn 1: Overload (→ Solidifying, At Death's Door, Shortcut). - Turn 2: Shoot then Follow Up x15 or more (15 shots will give Rank S) (→ fill break bar). - Turn 3: Shoot (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful) and Follow Up (10 shots for max Follow Up buff). - Against Simon first phase, don't use Overload or you'll start the next phase at 1 HP and won't trigger Shortcut. Just shoot and Follow Up. - This build works with most of Verso's weapons. Simoso is OP. For this build, Blodam, Lanceram, Nosaram, and Tireso are great (easy 65M+ total damage), followed by Contorso, Corpeso, Cruleram, Gesam, Liteso. Weaker weapons work too, as long as you Follow Up when the enemy is marked.
*1:32 Lune* - Weapon: Braselim. - Turn 1: Shoot until you have 5 AP, then cast Revitalization (→ Light Stain, Effective Heal, die, revive, play immediately, gain shields). - Turn 2: Shoot (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful) until full Gradient Charge and the enemy is marked, then cast Sky Break (→ 3 Light Stains). - -Turn 3: Shoot until you have 4 AP, then cast Elemental Genesis.- - Turn 3: Shoot until you have 7 AP, then cast Lightning Dance. _*It deals 2M+ more damage than Elemental Genesis!*_ - Turn 4: Shoot until full Gradient Charge and the enemy is marked, then Sky Break. - With Saperim you will deal more damage (50% buff to Gradient Attacks; you can total 60M damage) and you won't need the enemy to be marked to deal 45M damage (Simon's HP). However, sometimes you may not have enough Gradient Charge at the second turn. - This strategy works with other weapons too, but it's way less consistent.
*3:33 Sciel* - Weapons: Guleson or Charnon. - Turn 1: Shoot until you run out of AP (you'll likely apply 10 Foretell and gain 70% Gradient Charge), then use a Healing Tint on yourself (→ die, revive, play immediately, gain shields). - Turn 2: Shoot once (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful), then use Twilight Dance (to consume Foretell). - Turn 3: Shoot until you have 5 AP, then use Fortune's Fury (→ Twilight). - Turn 4: Shoot until you run out of AP (the enemy stays marked thanks to Guleson), then use End Slice. - Charnon is weaker and does not keep the enemy marked in Twilight, so it may fail sometime.
*4:52 Monoco (A)* - Weapon: Joyaro. - Turn 1: Shoot until mark, then shoot once more (→ Powerful, burn), and cast Duallist Storm (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful). - Turn 2: Shoot until full Gradient Charge, then Break Point (even if the enemy is not marked). - This build is not as consistent as the others, because it may be hard to fill the Gradient Bar before running out of AP. - Depending on how many times you shoot and if the mark stays, sometimes Duallist Storm does not break. You can equip Break Specialist to make sure it always does, but then the enemy must be marked when you cast Break Point. - Demineur Thunder can fill the break bar more easily and needs only 2 AP, so keep it as alternative if you cannot mark the enemy in the first turn. Mind that it does not break, though, so you must equip Sniper + Cheater instead of Quick Break. Also, the enemy will survive Break Point if not marked.
*5:53 Monoco (B)* - Weapon: Nusaro. - Turn 1: Shoot until you trigger all Gradient Charge buffs (70% total) or run out of AP, then use a Healing Tint on yourself (→ die, revive, play immediately, gain shields). - Turn 2: Shoot (→ break, mark, burn, debuff, Powerful), then keep shooting until you mark again (to get more Gradient Charges), and cast Mighty Strike (→ Almighty Mask; and both hits will be buffed thanks to Double Mark). - Turn 3: Shoot a bit, then Duallist Storm (no need for mark). - Turn 4: Shoot until full Gradient Charge and the enemy is marked, then Break Point. - This build is much more consistent, but takes more turns and deals less damage.Best Farming (Lumina + Grandiose Catalyst + Money + XP) | Clair Obscur E33coccobello2025-05-24 | _*PATCHED IN 1.5!*_ youtu.be/tkhTwMB1G9c?si=QZJL47D509PHV2zY Sweet Kill, Dead Energy II, Teamwork, and First Strike undocumented +10% buffs have been removed. The patch also seems to have fixed the Contorso glitch, as I tried to trigger it for a while without success.
_*Build is tuned for NG Expert and for LV32 Contorso! Set your difficulty to Expert! If you are on NG+ or your Contorso is at LV33, see notes below.*_
These builds exploit the known "Contorso glitch": if an enemy is killed by the extra lightning strike from Contorso, ALL its drops are doubled (items, money, XP). However, I couldn't find a build to do it consistently. So I did it myself, and at the same time I kept the requirements minimal (no overkill builds with 600 Lumina Points and LV33 Contorso).
0:00 Lumina - Requirements: 149 Lumina Points and LV32 Contorso. - Loot: Lumina Color (10) per run (1m20s). - Location: Monolith → Peak Tower → Clair Obscur optional boss. - Steps: the build is tuned such that you'll need 1 shot for the Clair, 1 for the Obscur, 5 for the Clair Obscur (and the killing blow will always trigger Contorso glitch).
1:37 Lumina + Grandiose Catalyst + Money + XP - Requirements: 293 Lumina Points and LV32 Contorso. - Loot: Lumina Color (4 - 10) + Grandiose Chroma Catalyst (4 - 6) + Money (~120K) + XP (~13M) per run (1m50s). - Location: Renoir's Drafts → Golden Tree → three groups of enemies. - First two groups: shoot + Follow Up (or shoot + attack) → shoot + Follow Up. - Third group: shoot. - The first two groups guarantee 2 Lumina Colors and 2 Grandiose Catalysts. If you trigger the Contorso glitch you'll get 3 (I never got 4). - The third group loot is less consistent, because enemies don't always drop Lumina Colors. Sometimes you'll get 0, sometimes 4. Skip this group if you want.
*Notes* - Last Stand Critical gives you 100% critical rate (so you'll always trigger the lightning strike). - In the first build, Auto Death + Survivor is a trick to trigger At Death's Door, and First Strike has an undocumented 10% damage buff (needed). - In the second build, Luminas Verso maximize AP gain (to shoot as much as possible) and damage (beside First Strike, the following Luminas also have an undocumented 10% buff: Teamwork, Dead Energy II, and Sweet Kill). - _*In the first build, if your Contorso is at LV33 replace First Strike with Shortcut to get rid of its buff. You'll need only 4 shots to kill the Clair Obscur, and you will still trigger the glitch.*_ - _*If you are on NG+, enemies will have more HP. Have Contorso at LV33 and play around with Lumina buffs to find a consistent way to trigger the glitch. Unfortunately I am not on NG+ and cannot test it, yet.*_Great Sages Broken Shell Fastest Kill (NG+7 / Great Sage, No-Hit, WR) | Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-05-03 | If you are lucky, you won't need any light attack at the very end and will save 5 seconds. However, the whole run requires lots of luck so I didn't bother trying again.
*0:00 First Phase* - Cloud Step - Essence Decoction, Amplification Pellets, Ginseng Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets while walking close to him - Pluck of Many - Any medicine for max focus - Drink - (Perfect) dodge, Immobilize with Evanescence, smash - Cloud Step - Any medicine - Drink x2 - Charged smash (three focus points)
The second smash is risky (GSBS can dodge, hit you, or push your duplicates away) but it's the fastest way to end the first phase. Alternatively, you can wait for GSBS to climb his staff and attack with a maxxed smash just before he lands (take medicines for focus instead of charging). This will take ~5 seconds more, though.
If GSBS casts Pluck of Many rather than attacking at the beginning, don't immobilize him and smash immediately instead. However, you'll need another maxxed smash to finish him (and, often, to follow up with Immobilize and light attacks). This will take 5-10 seconds more than the run in the video, though.
*0:45 Second Phase* - Cloud Step - Ginseng Pellets, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, any medicine for max focus - Drink x2 - Immobilize with Evanescence - Smash - Dodge back - Septenary Heartfire Pill - Dodge back + Cloud Step back mid-dodge - Enhanced Ginseng Pellets - Drink - HAVE THE RING OF FIRE TO YOUR LEFT - Immobilize with Evanescence - Smash - Light attack + Weaver's Needle + dodge back + light attack (if needed)
At the beginning, wait 1 second after Ginseng Pellets to build some focus (check the focus bar and be sure it goes up once). Otherwise, you'll need one extra medicine for max focus.
For the first Evanescence, GSBS can do three attacks: "staff uppercut" + kicks (see video, first attack), step back + swipe + thrust (see video, second attack), spins. The first two hit you from the RIGHT, so walk a bit to the RIGHT before casting Immobilize and you'll trigger Evanescence easily. Spins are a bit trickier because they are faster and it's easier to get hit. For the second Evanescence, GSBS can do one more attack: a light thrust to your LEFT. In this case, you must walk to your LEFT to trigger Evanescence.
After the first smash, you must dodge back once to get out of GSBS Ring of Fire, then once more to bait him further away from the Ring of Fire (he takes 75% damage when within or close to it). However, you must wait a fraction of second before dodging the second time. If you don't, GSBS may not start the heavy thrust and will stay within the Ring of Fire instead. Then, you must dodge back with Cloud Step halfway through the second dodge. This way, GSBS will destroy your decoy and will attack you next, making it easier to trigger Evanescence.
Finally, be sure GSBS is not giving his back to the Ring of Fire when he attacks you before the last Evanescence. This will prevent GSBS from getting too close to the Ring of Fire if he attacks with a swipe (he always does a step back before the swipe, see video).
*1:32 Time and Build* - Weapons: Dark Iron Staff, Weaver's Needle, Turtle Treasure - Armors: Monastic Insect Hat, Venomous Sting Insect Armor, Ochre Armguard, Ebongold Gaiters - Curios: Gold Button, Auspicious Lantern, Beast Buddha x3 - Drink: Multi-Glazed Gourd + Loong Balm with Breath of Fire, Turtle Tear, Slumbering Beetle Husk, Tender Jade Lotus - Medicines: Essence Decoction, Ginseng Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Amplification Pellets, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, Septenary Heartfire Pill - Skills: disable Time Bargain (Immobilize) and Volition (Pluck of Many)
Note that Septenary Heartfire Pill won't cool down Immobilize if you triggered Evanescence first (it's likely a bug). To ensure you can cast Immobilize twice in the second phase, you'll need the Slumbering Beetle Husk soak and to drink once.
*Notes* - In the first phase, GSBS must attack you immediately (no Pluck of Many) and must not dodge the second smash (or hit you, or kick away your duplicates). - In the second phase, you must time drinking perfectly to trigger Loong Balm's buff. However, the timing for the second sip is kinda unpredictable: sometimes GSBS takes time before attacking (he casts Immobilize first, but misses because you are in mist form), other times he attacks immediately. - Also, you won't spend much time in mist form before the last smash and, therefore, you'll have lower crit chance. - Even if you do everything perfectly, the damage you deal always has a small variation (±2.5%). For example, if you are lucky you can deal 27,000 and 34,000 damage with the first and second smashes, respectively, and be ~5 seconds faster than the run in the video. Or, you can be unlucky and need more light attacks at the end.Any Boss in Seconds: Ultimate Build (NG+7 / Great Sage, No-Hit) | Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-04-20 | *Overview* - (A) and (B) next to the boss name denote the build used. - For some bosses you'll need Plantain Fan, Gore-Eye Daoist, or Stained Jade Gourd. - Disable Volition (Pluck of Many skill), otherwise your duplicates may cast Immobilize and yours would miss. - Medicines: Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Septenary Heartfire Pill, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, and Ginseng Pellets (only build B).
*Build A* - Weapons: Dark Iron Staff, Weaver's Needle, Turtle Treasure - Armor: Golden Feng-Tail Crown, Gold Suozi Armor, Dian-Cui Loong-Soaring Bracers, Ebongold Gaiters - Curios: Gold Button, Auspicious Lantern, Beast Buddha x3 - Drink: Immortal Blessing Gourd with Loong Balm, Breath of Fire, Stranded Loong's Whisker, Tiger Relic x2
You'll use this build for one-phase bosses (check pinned comment for exceptions): Cloud Step, Loong Pellets, Tiger Pellets, Pluck of Many x2 (using Septenary Heartfire Pill), Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, drink, Immobilize, smash. Before smashing, you'll have 346 attack, 100% crit chance, 222% crit damage, and 10% damage bonus. All medicines can be crafted easily except for Loong Pellets and Enhanced Tiger Pellets (they require Monkey-Head Fungus). If you are running short on them, use regular Tiger Pellets instead.
*Build B* - B1: like A, but change the drink to: Multi-Glazed Gourd with Loong Balm, Breath of Fire, Turtle Tear, Steel Ginseng x2 - B2: like B1, but change the armor to: Golden Feng-Tail Crown, Gold Suozi Armor, Ochre Armguard, Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders
You'll use these builds for two-phase bosses: Ginseng Pellets + drink to gain focus in one phase, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets in the other (check pinned comment for detailed strategies). B2 has higher crit chance than B1, but deals less damage. You'll use it for bosses where you'll have to smash more than twice quickly (no time to buff crit chance by staying in mist form).
*Buffs* - Monkey King set first perk: crit chance +8% for 10 seconds upon casting a spell. - Golden Feng-Tail Crown: mana +30 (no need for Essence Decoction). - Ochre Armguard: crit chance +6% for every focus point consumed (charged points do not count). - Ebongold Gaiters: Unveiling Strike damage +12.5%. - Auspicious Lantern: attack +10% for 20 seconds after casting Cloud Step. - Turtle Treasure: three- and four-points heavy attack damage +12.5%. - Tiger Subduing Pellets: attack +8 for 80 seconds. - Enhanced Tiger Pellets: attack +15 for 80 seconds. - Loong Pellets: attack +15, crit chance +15%, and crit damage +20% for 80 seconds (stack with both Tiger Pellets). - Tiger Relic: crit chance +5% for 15 seconds. - Immortal Blessing Gourd: attack +20 for 15 seconds. - Multi-Glazed Gourd: damage bonus +30% for 30 seconds (even though its description says it buffs "attack"). - Breath of Fire: Unveiling Strike damage +15% for 10 seconds. - Immobilized enemies: +15% damage. - Concealed Observation: crit chance +4% for every second in mist form (up to 10 seconds). - Envious Tongue: crit chance +15% for 5 seconds upon taking a medicine. - Lingering Aroma: damage bonus +10% for 15 seconds upon casting a spell.
*Notes* - Most people use Yaksha set to gank bosses (sometimes with Snake Sheriff and Stormflash Loong Staff buffed with Glimmering Scale Pellets). While it can deal more damage (duplicates are stronger), it has VERY low crit chance and duplicates die easily. On the contrary, my build has 100% crit chance and duplicates are much more resistant, making it very reliable against ANY boss (and still one-shots most bosses). - Strong bosses have ~60,000 HP, weaker bosses have ~40,000 HP, minor bosses have ~20,000 HP (not included in this video). The length of the health bar is not indicative of their HP, but only of their category (Yaoguai Chief vs King/Queen). For example, Kang-Jin Loong is a Yaoguai Queen (long health bar) but has only ~40,000 HP. - The game has a bug during boss cutscenes. If you have four focus points when the cutscene starts, you'll resume with only one point. However, if you have less than four points you'll keep all of them.

Focus is gained by taking medicines (Insect set perk). Any medicine works, so use something easy to make (like Body-Cooling Powder). If you don't want to no-hit, replace the Gold Button with a Thunderflame Seal (you won't recover mana if you don't drink without full health). Or, take a Life-Saving Pill if you get hit.
*First Phase* - Start with Cloud Step and take medicines (Essence Decoction, Amplification Pellets, Ginseng Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets) while walking close to him. Then cast Pluck of Many, take any medicine for max focus, drink, and smash. Most of the time, GSBS will use Pluck of Many but will be interrupted by your duplicates, and you can smash safely. If not, DO NOT smash. Perfect dodge and do a heavy thrust instead. - After the first heavy attack, take three medicines and cast Cloud Step again. Wait for GSBS to start climbing his staff, then immediately take one more medicine, drink, and smash. While you drink, move closer to where GSBS is going to land (either your decoy or your duplicates). - Sometime, he doesn't climb up and attacks normally instead. You can either smash (you may get hit or he may dodge, though) or thrust (less damage but safer). - After the second heavy attack, take more medicines and finish him with a heavy thrust.
*Second Phase* - Once again, start with Cloud Step and buff with medicines (Loong Pellets, Ginseng Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets). Take also Septenary Heartfire Pill to have Cloud Step ready again, and take one more medicine for max focus. Then drink and smash. From now on, things will unfold differently depending on what he was doing. - If he was attacking you normally (first run in the video), you'll just interrupt him without being hit. If he was climbing up his staff (second run in the video), you'll hit him (unless you were very slow) but WON'T interrupt him (you can interrupt him if you are VERY fast). If you are unlucky, he'll do neither of those two attacks and will spin instead (and hit you during your heavy smash). - If he was climbing and you didn't interrupt him, spin to deflect his throws (first five) and then dodge (sixth throw + dive attack). Then, cast Cloud Step and smash from the distance. - After you interrupt him for the first time (with either your first or second smash), he will likely cast Ring of Fire. Dodge back and Cloud Step to the right (he may follow up with a heavy thrust). Take medicines until you have max focus, drink, then see what he is doing. If he is waiting (eating an apple) you are safe to smash (if he is within the ring, dodge inside to avoid damage). Otherwise (if he skips the apple and starts attacking), wait for the right moment to either smash or thrust. - Note that GSBS will take 75% damage when inside or very close to the ring. - At some point (likely, after the smash within the ring), he will simply walk and wait. Keep some distance and take any medicine until max focus. Then, get closer to bait him. He'll attack with the Sommersault Cloud: drink, then dodge + heavy thrust to interrupt him (you can also smash if you time it right, as in the second run). - After the Sommersault Cloud attack, he will almost always disappear, throw his staff at you (dodge it), and then do a heavy attack (double smash). By this time you should be able to cast Cloud Step again. Do it, take Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, drink, cast Immobilize after his smash, and do a heavy thrust. - If he is still alive, cast the Weaver's Needle and let it chip his last health away. If needed, take more medicines, keep dodging, and do one more heavy thrust.
*Notes* - The second part is tricky because it's harder to land critical hits (less crit chance due to the lack of relics). Nonetheless, this strategy is very reliable as long as you don't rush. - After he teleports he will almost always throw his staff at you, so be ready to dodge. - NEVER smash from close distance (if he is attacking he'll hit you, if not he'll dodge). - He will never dodge a Deadly Dance (dodge + heavy thrust) when he is attacking, but he may dodge it if he is waiting. - If he climbs his staff and throws staves at you: spin the first five throws, dodge the sixth, then dodge his dive attack. You CANNOT spin all six throws because you won't have enough stamina (Ascension Powder and Tonifying Decoction don't help). In mist form, spinning will make you waste Cloud Step, though.Duskveil Fastest Kill (NG+7 / Great Sage, No-Hit, WR) | Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-04-10 | 0:00 *Phase 1* - The goal is to buff with medicines and then finish this phase with three focus points and one sip left. - You MUST NOT finish the phase with a heavy attack. Instead, let the Duskveil survive the heavy attack and drink. The thrust heavy attack with the Fanged Cyan Staff is what you need. - You MUST NOT finish the fight with four focus points. The game is bugged and will make you resume with just one point after the cutscene. If you have four focus points, use a varied combo to consume one. - You can use the Weaver's Needle to chip away its health while you drink. - Remember to do in order: medicine, drink, Immobilize, heavy attack. This triggers (and keeps active long enough) Refreshing Taste and Loong Balm buffs. - In the video: Ginseng Pellets, Loong Pellets, dodge, Pluck of Many, dodge, light attacks with finisher, Tiger Pellets, drink x2, Immobilize, heavy thrust, follow up with light attacks, drink while duplicates end the fight.
0:45 *Phase 2* - Perfect dodge the first two slashes and then immobilize with Evanescence on the sword smash. - Before the slashes, take Essence Decoction and drink the last sip. - Heavy thrusts work great in this phase too. First, the Duskveil is weak to Thunder. Second, heavy thrust is fast enough to keep Whistling Wind buff, making it just slightly weaker than smash. - Follow up with light attacks after the heavy thrust to close the distance. This way, the Duskveil is unlikely to scream and fly, and will likely engage in close combat instead. - The Duskveil is very resistant to immobilization and you won't have time to smash (it'll break free before you can land the attack). Heavy thrust is fast enough to hit and strong enough to kill (thanks to the previous heavy thrust). - Sometimes, the Duskveil will survive with 1 HP and you'll have to wait until stagger is over to finish it. - In the video: Cloud Step, Essence Decoction, drink, perfect dodge x2, Immobilize with Evanescence, heavy thrust, light attack to close the distance, Septenary Heartfire Pill, Cloud Step, Pluck of Many, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, Immobilize, heavy thrust.
*Explanation* - This build balances attack (to defeat the Duskveil with the fewest hits possible) and crit chance (to be reliable). - You will have 98% crit chance for the first heavy attack, 87% for the second, and 114% for the third. - You need the Turtle Tear to have enough mana to cast all spells (or three pieces with +30 mana).
*Faster Build* - Finish the first phase with a heavy smash, then the second phase with a three-point smash (you can have one focus point at the beginning of the second phase if you immediately drink after the first smash, even though the cutscene is starting) + a four-point smash. - However, only the Dark Iron Staff is strong enough for that, but it has no crit chance buff. Furthermore, Ochre Armguard buff will give you +18% crit chance buff instead of +24% during the three-point heavy smash. In the end, you'll have 69% crit chance at second heavy attack. - That wouldn't be too bad, but there's more. It is VERY likely that you'll get hit when you crash immobilization after its "sword" smash. This happens because the Duskveil smash will still be completed after you crash immobilization, and it will hit you if you are too close (and you'll be if you smash instead of thrust). This can happen with the heavy thrust as well, but it's less likely. - Furthermore, the three-point smash will deal around 22,000 and you can't follow up with light attacks to close the distance. Because of that, the Duskveil is likely to scream and then fly. If that happens, your time is gone. - Even if the Duskveil doesn't scream, immobilization won't last long enough to smash (unless you enable Time Bargain, but then you won't have enough mana). You'll have to be lucky and hope to hit even without immobilization. - In the end, this alternative build is WAY too unreliable, even though it should take 40 seconds.
*Notes* - The Duskveil is BUGGED AS HELL. Often, you hit hard (and see, for example, 20,000 damage) but its health bar barely goes down. Other times, the health bar "resets" after a hit (it goes down and then back up). - Its hitbox is also HORRIBLE. You are supposed to hit the legs but the lock-on is on the body. Because of this, heavy attacks are likely to miss. The only reliable way to land them is to immobilize first.Trivialize Erlang (NG+7 / Great Sage, No-Hit) | Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-04-05 | This build is super simple, makes fighting Erlang a walk in the park, and WORKS ALL THE TIME. You can also use it to one-shot him, but it's a bit less reliable (still better than any other one-shot build). Both one-shot and two-shot runs are shown in the video.
0:00 *Two-Shot* - Move forward and take Ginseng Pellets, Essence Decoction, Loong Pellets, and drink x2 (Erlang won't hit you) - Avoid his last attack by dodging back and positioning yourself at the end of the arena (in front of the temple where Erlang started) - Gore-Eye Daoist - Cloud Step - Drink x5 - Enhanced Tiger Pellets (to trigger Envious Tongue) - Drink - Immobilize - Strike - [Phase 2 starts] - Position yourself close to the Gore-Eye Daoist's staff - Dodge the axe to the side, then dodge to the back/side (towards the axe) to avoid the icy shockwave and Erlang dive - Cloud Step behind Erlang - Plantain Fan (position yourself such that the wind pushes Erlang close to the Gore-Eye Daoist's staff) - Pluck of Many - Septenary Heartfire Pill - Pluck of Many - Enhanced Ginseng Pellets - Drink - Immobilize - Strike
1:14 *Build* - Weapons: Adept Spine-Shooting Fuban Staff, Plantain Fan, Gore-Eye Daoist - Armors: Golden Mask of Fury, Golden Embroidered Shirt, Ochre Armguard, Ebongold Gaiters - Curios: Gold Button, Auspicious Lantern, Beast Buddha x3 - Drink: Multi-Glazed Gourd + Loong Balm with Breath of Fire, Turtle Tear, Relic Tiger x2 (One-Shot) or Steel Ginseng x2 (Two-Shot) - Items: Ginseng Pellets, Essence Decoction, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Septenary Heartfire Pill, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets - Skills: disable Volition (Pluck of Many skill)
1:50 *One-Shot* - Move forward and take Essence Decoction, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Pellets, Ginseng Pellets, and drink x3 (Erlang won't hit you) - Gore-Eye Daoist (in front of the temple where Erlang started) - Cloud Step towards Erlang - Go a bit behind him and use Plantain Fan (aim such that he will be pushed to the staff; don't be too close to him or the wind will push him to the left/right) - Drink x2 - Unveiling Strike (light attack) - Immobilize as soon as the shield breaks (this will let the duplicates do some damage) - Septenary Heartfire Pill - Pluck of Many - Cloud Step - Drink - Immobilize - Strike
*Explanation: One-Shot* - Erlang has three phases. Phase two is triggered when his health is below 3/4, phase three when below 1/2. This build makes you skip phase three. - One-shotting is tricky. First, you and the duplicates must hit AT ONCE for more than 30,000 HP (half his health), triggering phase three (Erlang teleports away). If more than 1/4 but less than 1/2 damage is dealt, phase two is triggered instead (Erlang pushes everyone away). Second, the remainder hits must land and finish Erlang before he teleports away. - The damage done by the Destined One himself is not that important, as long as damage is dealt in the "correct" order. That is, Erlang health bar should go down "in chunks" (very quickly): first chunk brings it close to 3/4, then below 1/2, and finally to 0. - To have better chances, you can let duplicates hit Erlang and get his health CLOSE to 3/4. However, that's risky because they could deal too much damage and trigger phase two. - In the end, one-shotting Erlang is a matter of luck. There are a few videos one-shotting him with different builds, but they work 1/100 times. Mine is a bit more consistent, but still random.
*Explanation: Two-Shot* - Given how tricky one-shotting Erlang is, the two-shot strategy intentionally triggers phase two and then "one-shots" him. This is GUARANTEED to work thanks to three key components. - First, soaks. Steel Ginseng and Ginseng Pellets provide focus for the first phase, while Turtle Tear refills mana. - Second, Gore-Eye Daoist's staff ensures to trigger phase two with one heavy attack AND to finish Erlang with a second one. There are a few combinations of staves, spirits, and gourds, but none ALWAYS works (unlike this build). - Third, 100% crit chance thanks to the following buffs: Fuban staff +25%, Ochre Armguard +24%, Loong Pellets +15%, Refreshing Taste (Envious Tongue talent) +15%, and Concealed Observation (Cloud Step skill) +4% per second in mist form. In the end, you'll have more than 100% crit chance before heavy attacks.Ultimate Gank Attack: Erlang vs 18 Clones | Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-04-04 | Just for fun.
*Build* - Monkey King Set, Plantain Fan, Gore-Eye Daoist - Tridacna Pendant, Auspicious Lantern, Beast Buddha x3 - Supreme Gourd + Loong Balm with Breath of Fire, Turtle Tear, Slumbering Beetle Husk, Tiger Relic - Ginseng Pellets, Essence Decoction, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Septenary Heartfire Pill - Disable Time Bargain (Immobilize skill) and Volition (Pluck of Many skill)
*Steps* - Move forward and take Essence Decoction, Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Pellets, and Ginseng Pellets (Erlang won't hit you) - Avoid his last attack by dodging back and positioning yourself at the end of the arena (in front of the temple where Erlang started) - Gore-Eye Daoist - Cloud Step towards Erlang - Go a bit behind him and use Plantain Fan (aim such that he will be pushed to the staff; don't be too close to him or the wind will push him to the left/right) - Dodge back twice (you want duplicates to take time to approach Erlang, or they'll deal too much damage) - Pluck of Many - Septenary Heartfire Pill while walking forward - Pluck of Many - Approach Erlang (thanks to Cloud Step you will walk through your duplicates) - Immobilize AFTER his shield breaks - Spins (LOTS OF THEM) to gain focus and cool down Pluck of Many (thanks to Monkey King Set perk and high crit chance) - Dodge away when immobilization is crashed - Drink x4 (drink a bit now, or mist form will wear off before you can attack) - Cloud Step - Drink x6 - Pluck of Many (be close to Erlang) - Drink - Immobilize - Strike
*Notes* - Take Ginseng Pellets AFTER the other medicines, or you may end up with too much focus (and you'll trigger Great Sage mode). - Positioning Gore-Eye Daoist's staff and then pushing Erlang towards it with the Fan is a bit tricky at first. - You can't control what Erlang and the duplicates do, so they may end up far from the staff regardless of what you do. - Duplicates may deal too much damage and trigger phase two (disabling Volition makes that a bit less likely). - One-shotting is not guaranteed, but likely.60,000 ONE-HIT BUILD #gaming #wukong #blackmyth #blackmythwukonggameplaycoccobello2025-03-27 | The STRONGEST build for MAX damage in ONE-HIT.The Strongest Attack in Black Myth Wukongcoccobello2025-03-27 | 0:00 Yaksha King 1:06 Yellow Wind Sage 2:16 Build
*Build* - Weapons: Dark Iron Staff, Weaver's Needle, Gore-Eye Daoist - Armor: Yaksha Mask, Golden Embroidered Shirt, Golden Armguard, Ebongold Gaiters - Curios: White Seashell Waist Chain, Auspicious Lantern, Beast Buddha x3 - Drink: Multi-Glazed Gourd + Loong Balm with Breath of Fire, Tender Jade Lotus x3 - Medicines: Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, Enhanced Ginseng Pellets, Fortifying Medicament - Skills: disable Tongue of A Connoisseur (Envious Tongue) and Fearless (Life-Saving Strand)
*Steps* - Drink x5 - Loong Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Pellets, Fortifying Medicament - Revive (trigger Unbegotten Undying) - Gore-Eye Daoist (trigger Golden set perk) - Get to 1 HP (trigger Yaksha Mask perk) - Cloud Step (trigger Auspicious Lantern) - Enhanced Ginseng Pellet - Drink last sip (trigger Loong Balm and Multi-Glazed Gourd) - Perfect dodge (trigger Whistling Wind) - Immobilize with Evanescence (trigger Lingering Aroma) - Unveiling Strike (heavy attack in mist form)
*Steps Notes* - Cast Gore-Eye Daoist before reviving. Unbegotten Undying damage bonus buff lasts 30 seconds while Golden set attack buff lasts 20 seconds (also, reviving takes 10 seconds). - Cast Gore-Eye Doist before Cloud Step, or you'll leave mist form. - Get to 1 HP as soon as possible (ideally while casting Gore-Eye Daoist), before the life-saving effect of Unbegotten Undying wears off (15 seconds). - Fortifying Medicament will prevent light attacks from interrupting Gore-Eye Daoist. - Disable Tongue of A Connoisseur or the last sip will recover too much health (Yaksha Mask buff will turn off). - The last steps (drink, dodge, immobilize, strike) must be done BACK-TO-BACK WITH NO PAUSE because of the buffs short durations and smash long animation (Loong Balm lasts 5 seconds, Whistling Wind lasts 4 seconds, Evanescence takes 1-2 seconds, heavy smash takes 3 seconds). This only works if the enemy hits twice in a row VERY QUICKLY. - Whistling Wind buffs attack by +30% for 2-3 seconds, then by +10% for 1-2 more seconds. Because of smash long animation it is impossible to keep the +30% buff.
*Attack Buffs* - White Seashell Waist Chain: +5. - Yaksha Mask: +25 when your health is below 40-50% (apparently, that's "low"). - Golden set: +15% for 20 seconds. - Auspicious Lantern: +10% for 20 seconds after casting Cloud Step. - Whistling Wind: +30% for 2-3 seconds after a perfect dodge, then +10% for 1-2 more seconds. - Gore-Eye Daoist: +35% for 60 seconds within its area of effect. - Enhanced Tiger Pellets: +15 for 80 seconds. - Loong Pellets: +15 (stack with Tiger Pellets). - Loong Balm: +12.5% for 5 seconds (next attack only). - Tender Jade Lotus: +3.7 for 15 seconds (thanks to Dark Iron Staff because it actually buffs defense +25).
*Damage Bonus Buffs* - Unbegotten Undying: +30% for 30 seconds. A hearth icon will denote the life-saving effect and will disappear after 15 seconds, but it's unrelated to the damage buff (there is no icon associated to it). - Multi-Glazed Gourd (even though its description says "attack"): +30% for 30 seconds (last sip only). - Lingering Aroma: +10% for 15 seconds after casting a spell.
*Other Buffs* - Concealed Observation: crit chance +4% for every second in mist form (up to 10 seconds). - Loong Pellets: crit chance +15% and crit damage +20% for 80 seconds. - Breath of Fire: Unveiling Strike damage +15% for 10 seconds. - Ebongold Gaiters: Unveiling Strike damage +12.5%.
*Debuffs* - Immobilized enemies: +15% damage (+45% with Evanescence).
*Final Stats* - Base attack: 216 - Final attack (estimate): (216 + 25 + 5 + 15 + 15 + 3.7 x 3) x (1 + 0.35 + 0.15 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1) = 523.95 - Final attack (actual): 523 - Bonus damage: 70% - Crit chance: 63% (after 10 seconds in mist form) - Crit damage: 222%
*Buffs Notes* - Relative buffs are additive and are applied after fixed buffs: (BASE + FIXED) x (RELATIVE X + RELATIVE Y) = FINAL ATTACK. - The gap (523.95 vs 523) is due to approximations, because stats have unshown decimals (Dark Iron Staff gets 1 attack every 6.68 defense). - Relative buffs (+X%): armor perks and unique effects, spirits, drinks. Examples: Golden set perk (+15%), Pilgrim set perk (+10%), Centipede Armor unique effect (+10%), Gore-Eye Daoist (+25%), Turtle Treasure (+12.5%), Loong Balm (+12.5%), Ebongold Gaiters (+12.5%). - Fixed buffs (+X): headgear unique effects, soaks, medicines. Examples: Snout Mask (+10), Yaksha Mask (+25), Tender Jade Lotus (+25), Loong Pellets (+15). - Crit damage, debuffs (immobilized), attack-specific buffs (Ebongold Gaiters), and stance-specific buffs stack multiplicatively. To find it out (and their numbers as well) I manually tested them against the same enemy. - However, the final damage is not fixed as there is always some randomness (seems ±2.5%). That is, even if you attack with the same stats/buffs twice, you'll get two different (but close) numbers. Therefore, take my numbers with a grain of salt.
