From there you can swim around as much as you want, and if you dive back down and then go back up you'll enter the Falling state. If you do this somewhere above the map you'll fall back in-bounds and be able to walk around as much as you want! This also proves the oxygen bar is nothing more than a recolor of your health bar, which means you can drink water from Canteen to regain oxygen which is hilarious 😆
Afterwards I learned that Mallory Wing already discovered this magic square years ago, so I wasn't the first to the punch there. But hey at least this video adds some new insight by dropping back in-bounds and using the Canteen to regain "oxygen". Link to her video: youtube.com/watch?v=BoOEQ9RyEr0

This video showcases how to kill Aslik with a fart. This one is particularly complicated so I added a table to the right of the footage showing the values for all 3 game states at any given time.
The main issue of course is getting a brew to the path Aslik is on. Switching paths via any game-intended way automatically removes any brew from your inventory. Relocation (teleporting) can bypass this, but it requires you to have Abe's current state being in a path with a brew vendor, while either your latest save or latest autosave is in the path you want to reach. However both at the very entrance of the Executive Office as well as at the very exit there are unavoidable autosaves. These autosaves will also respawn indefinitely as the entire Executive Office [FeeCoDepot_Ender] is a seperate level from the rest of Feeco [FeeCoDepot]. The only other method of traversing between these paths is the closed door at FDP11C01. This door sends you back to FDP02 but doesn't have fully valid data, which results in Abe becoming completely non-responsive as there is no valid door to exit from. A way around this issue I discovered is the so-called 'Sneaky Autosave'. This is a trick where you hit an autosave in such a way that when you press Restart Path the autosave isn't hit again because Abe will have already left the hitbox (this trick is also used in killing the Zulag 4 shaman). In this video I perform this by weaving into the autosave from another path in the middle of a hop. Once we have that Sneaky Autosave set up we can just enter the FDP11C01 door, make a save, and then press Restart Path. This will make Abe responsive again (given that we return to the moment we hit that autosave), but will still allow us to retain our latest save which is now in FDP02. And now that we have a connection between FDP02 and FDP11 we can smuggle a brew between the two paths with relative ease. Of course all of this is easier said than done as you can see in the video, but this specific trick lies at the heart of making this entire thing possible. After killing Aslik I also escaped the office because I might as well. This is possible because only the C06 and C07 screens actually kill Abe with the gas. As long as we get out of those screens fast enough we can just take our time in the other screens without dying, even if visually it looks like those other rooms are full of gas as well.

This run clearly shows the biggest issue with the change from killing 306 muds versus killing 310 muds: the Zulag 12 shaman. This shaman alone took me over 14 minutes, while it's possible in under 5 if you don't make a single mistake. That shaman is simply incredibly hard to kill, even for someone as experienced with these tricks as myself. Losing a run to specifically this shaman is a very real scenario, and the fact that you arrive at this level at around 1 hour and 40 minutes into the run makes this quite unfortunate.

1) I enter Zulag 12 and press Restart Path to re-activate the Hub path autosave 2) I get back to the Hub path and hit that autosave. Then I make a manual save 3) I get a brew, position myself and relocate back to the Hub path 4) I get in position and I weave past the 2 walls in the Hub. The second wall isn't THAT bad to get past, but the first wall is. If you're a fraction of a second too early abe will just smack against the wall and fall down, and if you're a fraction of a second too late abe will already be falling through the floor you're supposed to be landing on. This extreme precision required combined with the fact that you'll need to do 6 relocations in a row here makes this the hardest strat in Maximum Casualties BY FAR, and one of the hardest strats in this entire game, period 5) I fart near the security orb, and hop to the left a fraction of a second before it explodes. I then make a save as soon as I possibly can 6) I load that save again and warp back to the Hub path as soon as possible. If you time this perfectly abe will land on that middle floor like in this video. If you're a fraction too late abe will die to the explosion (obviously), and if you're a fraction too early you will already be falling through the middle floor and land on the bottom floor which will kill abe with fall damage 7) I relocate back to Zulag 12, then press quickload. This will bring abe back to the Hub path while the orb remains destroyed. I make a save afterwards 8) I get another brew, get in position and relocate back to the Hub path 9) I move to the background and relocate back to Zulag 12 10) I kill the shaman and make a save 11) I warp back to the Hub path and move to the foreground 12) I relocate back to Zulag 12. Now abe is in the foreground again while the shaman remains dead 13) I finish the Zulag by turning the wheel, killing the 2 remaining muds and leaving

1) I enter Zulag 4 and press Restart Path to re-activate the autosave in the Hub path for later 2) I go through Zulag 4 and kill all non-shaman muds. I do some relocation here and there, but that is mostly just to save time 3) I go back to the Hub path without turning the Zulag 4 wheel 4) I enter and leave Zulag 2. This results in the vertical position of the Hub path autosave hitbox changing slightly 5) I hit the Hub path autosave from below while running and jumping 6) I go through Zulag 4 again, turn the wheel and make a save 7) I go to the Hub path, get in position and relocate back to Zulag 4 8) I get in position above the shaman and stand up in the tunnel using a floor drop 9) I weave through the floor by relocating, jumping and relocating again 10) I kill the shaman and save 11) I warp back to the Hub path, then relocate back to Zulag 4. At this point the latest save considers Abe to be in the Hub path, the Zulag 4 wheel to be turned and the shaman to be dead 12) I press Restart Path. This brings Abe back in-bounds in the Hub path, but does NOT overwrite the latest save. This is the case because Abe leaves the autosave hitbox before the game has a chance to check for this collision 13) I relocate. This keeps Abe in the Hub path, but now I am back to my latest save file in which the Zulag 4 wheel is turned and all Zulag 4 muds (including the shaman) are dead

0) I smuggle a grenade out of Zulag 7. This is not shown in this video, but if you don't know how you can do that you can watch one of my speedruns. Long story short: if you manage to leave Zulag 7 without the game taking away your slog treats, those slog treats will transform into grenades 1) I enter Zulag 12 to de-activate the autosave there 2) I press Restart Path to re-activate the autosave in the Hub path for later 3) I use a bunch of Relocation to reach Zulag 13B without turning the Zulag 13 wheel 4) I go through the entirety of Zulag 13 in order to de-activate the 2 autosaves there 5) I hit the autosave in the Hub Path that I re-activated earlier 6) I kill the 5 muds in Zulag 13A and turn the wheel. I can do this quickly by dropping through the floor and making them run after me while using a fart to delay them 7) I enter Zulag 13B. This can be done with a Backwards Jump, but in this video I used Relocation 8) I use the grenade to destroy the Security Orb and I kill all sligs and normal mudokons. I make sure my latest save is in this path 9) I get a brew in Zulag 12 10) I relocate back to Zulag 13B, move to coordinates [1,1] and save 11) I warp back to the Hub path and move to the background 12) I relocate back to Zulag 13B, kill the shaman with the brew and save 13) I warp back to the Hub path and move to the foreground 14) I relocate back to Zulag 13B. I can't think of any way this specific trigger can be useful but if this unused trigger exists, maybe there are others too...

The B Button is the one used for attacking, so without it our only option of dealing damage to the boss is Breakdance. Or to be more precise: The initial bursts of Breakdance, as we can't mash B to extend it.
This was done on the PC version of the game, using a Keyboard.Y Button Challenge (Pitfall: The Lost Expedition)creepy koala2022-11-20 | The goal of the Y Button Challenge is to beat the game without pressing the Y Button once. The Y Button is normally used for Crouching, Rolling, Breakdance and Diving into Water. In this run I complete the game with a grand total of 0 Y Presses.
Most Notable Moments: - Natives without Sweep Kick (4:52) - Early Mysterious Temple (10:40) - Flooded Cave without Gas Mask (13:13) - Renegades without Shield (17:06) - Early Geyser (27:03) - Spinjas without Pickaxes or Breakdance (28:51) - Jungle Trail without Rolling (47:39) - St. Claire's Camp (50:42)
This video is meant as a demonstration / showcase, so it wouldn't make sense to keep 20 minutes of me failing Early Geyser in the video for example. Therefore this run is segmented, with all cuts being at the very start of any given level.

This works because the Justin Finch-Fletchley token gets unlocked as soon as it gets shown on camera and it overrides the completion of the Polyjuice Lesson.
The result of all this is that the Story progresses as it normally would and you gain access to Crabbe and Goyle, but you will not have learned how to make Polyjuice Potion and you will not recieve the Golden Brick associated with it. If then at any point afterwards you re-enter the Potions Classroom you will instantly learn Polyjuice Potion and get the Golden Brick. If instead you don't re-enter the Potions Classroom all the way until Year 4 Polyjuice becomes permanently unavailable, as the Polyjuice variant of the room will be replaced by the Ageing Potion variant of the room. The Hobbit No Turning in 54:42 (World Record)creepy koala2022-09-21 | The first sub 1-hour run! I implemented 6 more changes to my routing (biggest are in Riddles and Clouds Burst) and I died less than during my last run.
There are a bunch of other improvements to the route I've discovered, but those are too inconsistent for me to implement right now. The biggest of those improvements would be in Inside Information, which can save 4 minutes.

The goal is to build The Hogwarts Express in the cellar of the Leaky Cauldron as fast as possible (n0cut5 is allowed).
To achieve this you normally have to play through a ton of Story Mode to eventually gain access to Reducto and Dark Magic somewhere in year 4 before you can get all the Gold Bricks required. However, in this run I use an exploit involving Quirrell and the Transfiguration spell in Diagon Alley to gain control of Quirrell during Free Play without having to unlock him. This exploit allows us to complete all six levels in Free Play as soon as we've unlocked them in Story Mode.
00:00 Story Mode 35:18 Free Play
This run is far from perfect. For example there are better routes I could have taken for the stud collection and there are a bunch of glitches like Lumos Jumping I didn't use. I don't really care however because the main reason I made this video is to showcase this Quirrell exploit and a potential use for it.The Hobbit No Turning in 1:06:17creepy koala2022-07-01 | My fourth completed run. I implemented 7 more improvements to my routing, and in some levels I died a lot less than before. The biggest improvements to the route are in Riddles (saves 6 minutes) and Warm Welcome (saves 2 minutes).
Biggest mistakes: - Dying a LOT in Over Hill for some reason - Accidentally pressing the wrong button for the LiveSplit at the end of Gathering - Choking immensly in Clouds Burst
My current sum of best is 1:01:31. If you use this route and don't die you can definitely get a sub 1 hour run.

A lot better than my last overall, as I implemented 19 changes to my routing, plus I died a lot less than my previous runs.
Biggest mistakes: - Forgetting to restart the game for Riddles Switches - Getting caught by elves a bunch of times in Barrels - Wasting *7 whole minutes* in Inside Information because Bilbo just didn't want to grab a specific vine - Getting sniped by a goblin in Clouds Burst, forcing me to redo the Corwin section
Keeping these in mind, I'd also like to add that currently my sum of best is 1:14:09, so sub 1 hour 15 minutes is certainly possible.

- This is a shorter and more elegant route to get all 8 Items. It's also easier, but that doesn't mean it's a walk in the park. - The main trick revolves around having Bilbo drown while talking to Malloc, resulting in a PLG. It seemed impossible to pull that off, but in the end I managed to find a way to get there. I'm very proud of this accomplishment.

"Kleptomania" is a Challenge I came up with. The goal is to end each level with the maximum number of Quest Items still in your inventory. You'll find that some levels are very simple (Roast Mutton for example) but others are very complicated (Riddles for example).
This one was very difficult at some points, so I made more cuts than I usually do.

- This one was a long time in the making but once I figured out the route it wasn't that hard to do. - The Apples & Spices can also be collected by jumping on top of them OoB, but I figured that those were so easy and quick to get the normal way I just didn't bother making those extra jumps. - Special thanks to Chrixiam1998 for working with me on this level.

I mostly care about the final result and not so much about doing things in a single sitting, therefore I’ll make cuts at save points.

- This is a big video, in more ways than one. - By far the most time is spent securing Rennar's Key (the first 8 minutes) and being able to keep both Malloc's Dagger as well as all 5 bottles at the same time (the last 20 minutes). So yeah there is only like 2 minutes worth of video that is NOT dedicated to either of those. - Because of the stupidly high difficulty of the PLG (specifically the longjump at the bottle rack) I can highly recommend NOT trying this route yourself, but hey it's not like I can stop you.

- There are a couple of tricky jumps (0:19 - 3:10 - 5:15) but besides those this is surprisingly doable
Weaponless Challenge: - Weapons: Stick, Sword & Rocks O Using a Weapon - Pressing the ‘Attack Button’ while a weapon is equipped is a Strike - Swinging your Sword while you’re riding a Minecart also counts as a Strike - Take note: Longjumps are NOT Strikes (as the ‘Attack Button’ isn’t pressed) O Equipping a Weapon - If the currently equipped weapon changes to anything other than ‘Empty’, that’s a Strike (for each time it changes) - If the change is the direct result of a Cutscene it does NOT count as a Strike

I played this game and wondered if it was possible to softlock yourself and if so what the fastest way to do so would be. Turns out the answer is yes and this was the fastest route I could come up with. I didn't use any glitches in this run, and after looking a bit more into it that makes a huge difference. That's why I call this "speedrun category": 'Softlock% Glitchless'
