Ortur Laser - Etching Aluminum! FLSUN Delta - Why I Bought Another Printer and You Might Too ! eBay K40 CO2 Laser - Post Mortem of High Voltage Lase Tube Failure! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-11-23 | In this episode, we will be conditioning a bit of a post mortem of a recent video we created regarding the high voltage failure of a 40watt CO2 laser tube and resulting discharges (you can see the original video here: youtu.be/QgShwNLtpq8 ). As this video was shared to demonstrate the "risks" of an eBay / k40 CO2 Laser and this generated a lot of conversation and with that wanted to follow up this discussions a little more. People take electricity to lightly many times and my cousin Robbie when we were 14 died from electrocution in a manor many would say no that can't happen, however it did. I have also lost another friend to electrocution and a third to sever electrical [flash] burns. These are risky devices and need to be treated seriously and with respect as with any tool however more so with their questionable implementation. eBay K40 CO2 Laser - Can Your Laser Kill You? Shocking Evidence! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-11-21 | In this episode, we will be sharing and explosive experience I had with my eBay / k40 CO2 laser! As I was aligning the mirrors, the the tube for some reason shorted out failing to laser and dumping over 20,000 to ground! Keep in mind that I an my face was less then 2 feet away and thankfully I was wear protective eyewear as the video really fails to capture power of the true power of the flash and arch! This is why it is critically important to have a solid earthen ground as as well as high quality laser "safety" glasses as this is a high intensity electrical "flash" which can cause sever burns! Ortur Laser - Upgrading Wattage with New Laser Module! Ortur Laser - Can You Cut Harbor Freight Foam Floor Tiles! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-11-13 | In this episode, we will be be working on a recipe for what many refer to as Harbor Freight Floor Tiles (see more here: amzn.to/2GRPH0z ) as you can get these many places. LightBurn Tips - Fixing GRBL Intensity Problems! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-11-07 | In this episode, we will show you how to properly set the intensity values inside of LightBurn to match those of GRBL. As in the example my GRBL based laser was only outputting 1/4 of the power when set to 100% (i.e. S1000). At first we though it to be hardware issue however doing some digging we found the S-Max Value and it was set to 255 approximately 25% of the actual max value (i.e. $30=1000) which GRBL understood to be the maximum. Ortur Laser - Do NOT Do This (Cutting Vinyl)! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-11-02 | In this episode, we will be talk about something you likely should not do! What is this you ask? That is cutting vinyl with your laser! Why you ask, the burning of vinyl can release Chorine gas which is BAD in fact very bad! However I have received a lot of questions about this material so because I have a sealed system with a substantial air evacuation system I decided to give it a go and even for being sheet goods (i.e. very thin) it still did off-gas quite a bit. Ortur Laser - Recipes for Cutting Thick Foam Easy! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-10-26 | In this episode, we will be we will be looking what you will need to cut thick ( Polyethylene - Fastcap Kaizen) foam with the Ortur Laster Master II (see more here: diy3dtech.com/ORTUR_Laser_Master ). Ender 3 Modifications - Precision Z Axis Support! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-08-28 | Since Creality was running a special on the Ender 3's I purchased a number to refresh our print farm here at DIY3DTech and with this converted to them direct drive extrusion using this kit (see more here: amzn.to/2DsqPuI ). Because the Ender 3 has only one Z-Axis and we are adding weight to the moving hotend with motor and extruder we wanted to provide additional support to the Z-Axis lead screw. Now there are a lot of Z-Axis bearing based retainers out there however all of the ones I have used in the past where fixed and designed to fit the creators machine. Now these would fit "in general" other machines, however we want one where we could adjust the fit in a "precision" way so we designed this one!Here we use two common 20mm bed leveling springs (see more here: amzn.to/31FdDKK ) cinched with two (2) 25mm long M3 bolts (see more here: amzn.to/31zMh8V ). Worth note is the design has modeled threads or you could use inserts (see more here: amzn.to/2DrT3pp ) for a more secure fit. The bearing is a common 608ZZ skate bearing (see more here: amzn.to/31y8Ivj) so nothing fancy. Note, that the base bracket mounts to the 20x40 upright via two M5 (important they MUST be hex / cap heads and NOT button head).**Warning!** the M3's are spring load and if not printed correctly could come fly out so use at your own risk! To avoid this, we suggest inserts (see more here: amzn.to/2DrT3pp ).**Note:** While this was designed for the Ender 3, it should also work with most other printers which uses 20x40 extrusion. Design Talk - Better Flange Design and Printing! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-08-26 | In this episode, we will be at designing flange / adapters and I will be sharing some of my tips and tricks with you as this is one of the most common 3D printed solutions which I create to solve household challenges! Also for most part these are printed in TPU (see more here: perimeters ) as this is a super strong as well as stable thermo-plastic.Note: After editing the video I realized there a couple of additional points worth adding so, I have included them here in the description:1. The number of perimeters is a function of the pressure. In the video, I discuss 3 perimeters and this is for static pressure or say just gravity feed water. As you increase pressure, you need to also increase perimeters. So three (3) perimeters is only a starting point, not an end point.2. Annealing: Geometric transitions can lead to leaks because of gaps in filament adhesion. To address we can "anneal" the part and this does not have to be fancy. We typically use a heat gun to soften the TPU which causes the filament to fill in the gaps. Want to see what we are up to daily? Ortur Laser - 3D Printable Air Assist! DIY3DTECH.com 2020-08-24 | In this episode, we will be at the first generation of air-assist which we designed for the Ortur Laser Master and other diode based lasers! However please note that plastic burns and use of this model is at your own risk! The model (three parts) will be out on Thingiverse (find it here: thingiverse.com/thing:4575561 ) and you will also need a short M3 bolt (see more here: amzn.to/2TDrspX ) along with a 9mm x 0.5 tap for the laser lens (see more here: amzn.to/3ld5CpA ) as the lens needs to be super straight. Ender 3 Modifications - Direct Drive Cable Management Plate!
