A Severed Blossom by Zeyta | Original Soundtrack | Fragmented Memories: Intermezzi Zeyta Sonzakyo 🎻📯 2024-05-03 | Watch the video this music was meant for!youtu.be/aWWaio4wWe0?si=YoCnetcmniHmyibN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~With yet another subsidiary fresh off the series 'Fragmented Memories' by @Vlizzurd brings you an intermissionary side story, related to its lore!Everything here is new, there aren't any cameos of any past themes that I've previously made for the series, so I'll dive a little into what's going on!First off, the usage of more ambience, noise, & long droning sounds to fill up time in the music where the music doesn't really need to be there. This move also allows me to paint a much darker picture to the story than I previously could, and it shows when you watch the short!Next up is pretty big for me, which is the inclusion of elements from Jazz & Neo-Soul, two genres of music I thought I would never need to deal with in my discography. Considering the romance and the setting of the animation, which is a fancy bar, I felt like there was no other genre of music that could convey the intent of the scene than this, although I will admit that I still infused quite a bit of my cinematic style into this part of the score.Last here would be brand-new themes for the 2 lovebirds that you mainly see in this short. If you couldn't identify what they sounded like within the short, you can skip ahead to the end credits music, where I showcase both melodies one after the other. The construction process of these themes were really similar to each other, and the reasoning behind that is actually related to the significance that the 2 lovebird characters have to the main story.They actually turn out to be the biological parents of the main character, Vlizzurd! As such, when I was trying to mold into shape what the parent themes should sound like, I decided to go with take the original Vlizzurd theme and split up all the notes in the melody, re-allocating them in a completely different manner to achieve each parents' respective leitmotif.Overall, these 8 minutes are not to be underestimated! Today I release the long-awaited Cinematic Edition of my best song to-date, Jolayne!It's possible you've already heard this as a snippet before, because it was used in @Vlizzurd's trailer for the 3rd Episode of his series, Fragmented Memories!youtu.be/nWKwHkMe2ZQAs I was doing production on Jolayne all the way back in May 2022, I was arranging the instrumental of the verses, which placed emphasis on clean guitar and orchestral strings.Basically, the way I wrote the whole of Jolayne was so that it could easily flip itself into another genre, since it was structured in a popular song structure style.After Jolayne had released, I set to work on a possible cinematic version of the song straight away. Zeyta Sonzakyo 🎻📯 2023-03-05 | Catch the FULL experience of this project with the SFX!youtu.be/f6VlA3Vlr-g°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°Here's a little more detail into how I went about scoring this race scene!°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°The "pulsating bass + string spiccato" idea was already in my head when I first sat down to attempt this experiment, so that's why most of the music is just that.Everybody knows that an important part of scoring music to a video is how well they flow and synchronise together.In my case, I'd used the original race scene's SFX audio and marked out quite a few timestamps where I would require the music to change because the scene changed.As you watch this video, you'll realise that the loud hit impact sounds in the music mostly follow the scenes where something of an intense action is happening.Examples would be like the vehicle jumps, the saw-blades part, cars getting destroyed, or the wrecking ball destroying the road, and even slow motion sequences.I considered these as major points of the video where the music would need to react to or change up accordingly.Another thing to note about synchronization in film scoring would be that the music often will not be playing in the standard 4 beats repetition, which is the most common way people count music in.Try repeating "1, 2, 3, 4" as soon as that pulsating bass starts in the beginning. I guarantee you'll find that not everything in the audio will add up as you might expect it to.I think that this project turned out very well, and I like to believe I was pretty darn successful in scoring this unscored scene. This project serves as a important milestone in my practice in creating music for video, and I hope these in-depth details give you more inspiration and appreciation for music!Thanks, all! 🥰

This is my cover of their secondary single "Ramen".~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Despite this cover coming out literally as the third in a row from a sudden burst of uploads, this project was actually months in the making! Unlike my previous quick-soundtracks, this piece of music required many more days & sessions, each to focus on a specific aspect of the final draft.The mixing template was taken from a project that was younger than Jolayne, but older than Vyrez (hence the reason why it sounds like this in tonal quality).There, the instrumental was done first, as best as possible by ear and within the limits of the available technology (as well as creative intents). Between the guitar solo and the harsh vocals, the solo was requested first.With the instrumental done, then came the vocal recording sessions. Most of the time taken up from the overall production duration was from vocals. Raw Vocal Recordings | Jolayne Chorus Zeyta Sonzakyo 🎻📯 2022-06-27 | All the way back in late-February, I had access to a nice sound booth in school while I was still a student.The space was a sound-treated small enclosed area, complete with all the equipment needed for a song-mixing session.The night before this day, I had pre-recorded all my singing parts in my light voice as a pre-guiding assistant tool for easier recording on the day of.I didn't actually use any of the sound booth's dedicated equipment, other than the two large speakers for beeg sound.Instead, I brought over my MacBook, my charger, my headphones, my audio interface, and my condenser microphone.Headphones were used during the recording session, and the speakers were used during the tuning & timing session right after.This 30-second clip shows what my vocals sounded like with just the EQ, Compression, Delay and Reverb. No tuning or timing as of yet since I hadn't gotten to that part.Yeah, I know, it sounds rough. Life of a non-singer works that way.

I'm so stoked to see you all here again.Once more, I have a score I'd like to share with the boys! The style of music in this one is much more of a follow-up from the style of my Demon Encounter OST that I did with @brakieee!But now, I've successfully gone even more crazy, and now there's an actual disco beat as part of the official music sections. You can expect to be dancing or bobbing your head more to the music than usual, I'll say that for sure, haha!The duration of the score is also moderately long this time. No 30-minute relentless collab music, but a real score of a one-off piece of film.A couple of weeks ago, I made the @Vlizzurd character a theme song, it's called Artic Fulgura, and I made sure to sprinkle the main leitmotif into here! However, because this animation is a character fight, the opposing character also needs a theme to go by.This is where I've had to create an Airis theme on the spot, to the best of my ability! Now, I'm not too sure about the lore and stories behind these characters, but what I used as reference for the vibe of the music was the animation alone, maybe hopefully I've done them some justice? Who knows?As for this new style I'm doubling down on, I think I've hit some Artcore territory! Let me know if you're fans of that genre!As always, cheers!
