METAL NEST (game demo) snoodle 2024-03-10 | (Best watched at 1080p - YouTube compression isn't nice to these visuals)A playthrough of a small game project of mine, titled "METAL NEST" - a first-person wander through an industrial maze. This project started as a practice for audio implementation using FMOD and Unity, but became something with more substance that I felt like showcasing. It makes use of a lot of positional audio and dynamic sound systems provided by FMOD to do things like adaptive reverb and audio occlusion (muffling stuff when you go behind a wall). It's not perfect by any means, but for my limited experience with the tech I feel like it turned out pretty effective!Unfortunately the game isn't available to play - exporting the game leads to several severe audio/visual glitches that I haven't been able to solve for now. Woven Nest - Threat Theme (Rain World) snoodle 2023-03-09 | Threat music for the Woven Nest - a dank, slimy maze of underground tunnels choked with webbing and spores. The nest is a subregion of the Far Shore, a region mod currently in development by Myrmice. This was a fun one, lots of experimentation with synths to end up with the variety of unsettling scuttles and clicks in the instruments. Fog Gulch - Threat Theme (Rain World) snoodle 2022-11-25 | Threat theme for Fog Gulch, a mysterious region shrouded in a thick fog, which is currently being developed by Klumquart. Went for a mysterious, heavy atmosphere reminiscent of the deep sea, with a hint of metallic percussion that ties the pumps and shafts littered throughout the region into the music. This song probably has the most direct audio recording samples out of anything I've made, which I'm quite happy with the result of! Fun fact: The loud bassy instrument is directly sampled from a recording of a real foghorn. Pipeline Caverns - Threat Theme (Rain World) snoodle 2022-11-10 | Threat theme for the upcoming Pipeline Cavern region, created by Solar. The goal for this one was something similar to Hanging Gardens, but a little less bright, as this region exists in a murky half-light - the end result is somewhat ethereal sounding.
