I made spats using plastic wrap & it actually worked! Edwardian Sewing Experiment gone RIGHT! Dames a la Mode 2021-09-01 | Hi friends! Here was my experiment making spats using a pattern I made out of plastic wrap! Several people on Instagram commented that stabilizing the pattern with masking tape once you had it wrapped made it easier to handle. I didn't try that but it may help if you find your pattern is stretching/distorting when you're trying to cut it off.
