Mick Harvey's first new solo recording in 10 years is a translation and reworking of Marlene Dietrich’s 1950s ode to Berlin, ‘Ich Hab’ Noch Einen Koffer in Berlin’. Harvey’s updated take on the song, originally written in 1922, ‘A Suitcase in Berlin’, brings a sadness and weight to the subject appropriate to the passage of time and the weight of history which hangs over the city.

Lyrics:
Wake up from a purple phase
Push the button choose a face
Live a million happy days
Like a ship with all the wood replaced
Now I know what I'm becoming
Recovered from self-sabotaging
Now I know what I'm becoming
Member of a tribe always evolving
Inner vision architect
Psychonetic sound effect
Open up another year
Sail away beyond the fear
Recreate euphoria
Now and for millennia
Seeking with the naked eye
All that we can recognise
Now I know what I'm becoming
Recovered from self-sabotaging
Now I know what I'm becoming
Member of a tribe always evolving
Now I know what I'm becoming
Recovered from self-sabotaging
Now I know what I'm becoming
Member of a tribe always evolving

Lyrics:
Seems we end up all the same
Just the memory of a name
All are strangers all are strange
All are waiting on a train
It’s so insane
It’s so insane
So insane
It’s so insane
Spirit dancing
I sniff a madness
Question and chaser
Sink full of answers
Loved by a stranger
Choked by the anger
Life at the station
Waiting for patience
Noone’s reflecting
We’re all reflections
Purse full of change is
Then make some changes
Come land the spaceship
Let’s go escaping
Drugs make it easy
Fly far away from
Casting shadows
Facing a flame
Family of strangers
Laced in shame
Ties to the apron
Why don’t we bake one
Our navigations
What constellation
I think we’ll make it
Thrills for the chasing
Caught in the mystery
Bound by the danger
Loud out the manger
I’m down to carve it
Words on the wall and
Paint on the carpet
Steps getting started
Lets get it shouted
I’m getting barking
Mind how you go though
Stars collide and planets fall
You see there is no plan at all
All is hope and all is pain
All are waiting on a train
It’s so insane
It’s so insane
So insane
It’s so insane
It’s so insane

dancing at the fancy club
dreaming of designer love
third ear music disappear
patterns on your skin now crystal clear
all the pretty hexagons
meaningless when you're gone
babe i was dissociated
now i learn to feel
disconnected acts of love
intimate performance art
twice i cried when you were near
first in pain and then for real
broke my word and stole a kiss
not my greatest hits
babe i was dissociated
now i know my fear
posing in a secret place
gentle games to show my face
fragile magic torn apart
now i know what's in my heart
playing roles i didn't know
babe i was dissociated
