I decided to giveaway the two door hangers only by the people who followed the instructions. By the time I start the draw only 33 people had left a comment telling why the could want one of my door hangers. That's a quite good odds (be awared for the next time I make a giveaway!). The winners have to contacte me by private message to provide an adress to ship the package.

In this video you'll see how we fully forged and ground the two knives. As we were on a rush, we decided to focus on his knife to finish it before he left. Sadly we couldn't do it so I decided to finish it for his next visit ;).

The results shown in the video come from tests performed without precision equipment and affected by subjective assessments (mine). The purpose of said tests was to measure the relative effectiveness of several simple steps one can take to silence their anvil.

I’m using chainsaw mill from a Chinese supplier (TOPQSC). It’s an affordable jig, and easy to put together and use. You can watch how easy it is to assemble on the bottom-right corner. I’ll link to a video on my secondary channel of the full process.
Before milling a log, it’s best to remove all the bark and dirt you can. Neglecting either will increase wear on your saw, and dull it faster.
I’m using split firewood as wedges to prevent the log from moving sideways while milling it.
I recommend mounting the chainsaw with the jig facing down and partially supported by the log.
For this job I’m using a Husqvarna 266xp with a 20” bar, my first petrol chainsaw.
Once the chainsaw is securely attached to the milling jig, we can fasten some planks to the log to create a flat reference surface. Here is my first mistake. As you will see, I attached those too far from the top, so I couldn’t support the jig. I was on a bit of a rush, and the top of the log was flat enough to try it freehand. The results may have been better had I not pushed too far the plastic wedges during the cut. This lifts the whole slice and pushes the chain away from its natural direction. After the first cut, I had a ridge at the end of the cut, which caused issues on the second cut. I also made another mistake using a regular cross-cut chain, which leaves a pretty rough surface and cuts slower.
At the end of the second cut you can see how the cut started to go crooked and how the guide stopped running by hitting the ridge from the first cut. I solved this by flattening the surface by hand with a hatchet.
On the remaining cuts the chainsaw is outfitted with a milling chain (10deg cutting edge) which makes the cut faster and leaves a better surface finish.
The third cut and beyond were pretty straight forward, without any other issues. You can see how I make a full cut, without rushing, in 76 seconds.
This log is from a European Chestnut that was felled on February of this year. Chestnut is considered a hardwood and, compared to oak, is nearly as strong but lightweight and half as hard, so it’s a really great wood to work with. The heartwood is durable but, as you may see during the footage, the sapwood is vulnerable to insect damage.
For chain sharpening on the job site I used an appropriate file size for the chain (in this case, a 7/32” or 5.5mm diameter round file) attached to a file guide to maintain the correct angle.
I got 5 90x35x4cm (35x14x2inch) chestnut boards of decent quality out of that milling job. Overall I’m very satisfied.

Those who follow me on Instagram and Facebook already know I made my firsts knives the last summer with a stock-removal approach. To obtain a better heat treatment I thought I should get a proper forge and that moves me also to get more interested in Blacksmithing.
Before start using the new forge need some prep, which I'm going to show you briefly in this video.
If you wait till the end of this video you'll see my first ever forged piece. Let me know if you're interested in forging or knife making.

This night stand made out of OSB and MDF comes very handy to hold my phone without loosing space from our bedroom. Its design keeps this piece of furniture stongly attached to the siderails of our bed. Design of the top piece come from one of the many features of Easel (free 3d carving software from Inventables), such a pattern generator that brings this nice polygon carved surface. Finally I painted the all V groves and the rest of the nightstand in flat paint white to pop up the beatiful top surface of the OSB.

I'm glad to present you my first furniture project of my YouTube channel. I made a pair of bedside tables for my brothers in law. My intention was to achieve a scandiavian style with a conic tilted legs without having to purchase specific hardware. Another particularity was about the inside of the box. My brother in law wanted a folding front and my sister in law wanted a drawer. So externally both looks the same, not on the inside. Besides, my brother in law asked me to add a mobile charging slot on the top of the table top. I use my CNC to achieve that being concious that I could achieved same results with my router. I used MDF and Beech wood for this project (plus some cheap hardware like bolts, threads, hinges and slides). I hope you enjoy this as much as I did crafting these night stands.

As you will see I recommend to shake the concrete before curing to achieve a uniform piece. Otherwise you leave it without doing this to achieve a irregular shape with bubbles (you will find a picture of this in my facebook and instagram as well).
Also, you will notice I broke accidentally the concrete piece while I was unmolding it. I can assure you that after repairing it with quick concrete you will obtain a rock solid piece.
Finally, I applied clear wood wax in the whole piece to obtain a dust-free and glossy finish.
I hope this video inspires you to try new things. Please, like and share my work to help me keep doing this. Thanks.

I recently bought a chuck for my lathe. The model is a SK100 Clubman from Axminster. I just wanted to start with a simple project to see how it works and get use to it. I'm pretty satisfied with the quality of this accessory. Also I'm pleased with the results as being my first work with a chuck. Talking about materials, I chose small scrap of Ash due its beauty and contrasting grain. For the finish I applied 3 coats of Tung oil because of the protection against water and moisture.
I hope you like it.
All started few weeks ago when I cheered my wife to make something in my workshop. Then, she came with the idea to craft a toy cat as a present for a volunteer from Animal Welfare Association who looked after a couple which we adopted.
She decided to use leftover materials as a symbolic metaphor of the process of adopting an abandoned animal.
If you liked it don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.
Regards from Barcelona!
Here I present to you my take on this household utensil. I spent about two weeks thinking about the design, which my wife helped me develop. The result is a simple-shaped, ergonomic, and easy to use tool. Like on some of my past videos, I once again challenged myself, this time in the making of the metal cutter.
For this project I used walnut, maple, and 1mm-thick stainless steel. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave me a comment with your thoughts!
