I love Insomniac Games. I think we all do lately with what they’ve done for the Spider-Man franchise, the storytelling, the fun of swinging around New York, even how much the accessibility has improved in 5 years going back to the pre-remastered Spider-Man 1 in 2018. So, my anticipation for Spider-Man 2 was high. What would Insomniac do to improve accessibility again? Well, I think I should’ve waited until December. Let’s talk about it.
Thanks to @playstationcanada I was sent to PlayStation HQ in California to get a hands-on preview of the PlayStation Access Controller, the first PlayStation adaptive controller for the PS5. I got to see all of what will be included with the controller, what functionality it has, the main pillars of what went into making the controller, and how it feels for a motor disabled player to use it.
I love the Assassin’s Creed series. It doesn’t always love me back, because I can’t play most of them. However, Ubisoft has been consistently improving the accessibility in all of its franchises. So, does Assassin’s Creed Mirage continue that improvement? Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage the most accessible AC game to date? Let’s find out.

When I reviewed Forza Horizon 5 a couple of years ago, I felt for the first time I could not only as a blind person, feel what it was like to drive a car but race one too. Sure it wasn’t a perfect game, but at the time it was pretty close. Well, Turn 10 took all of what Playground learned and cranked the horsepower up a notch with Forza Motorsport because this very well may be the most accessible racing game ever made.
I’ve done a lot since making content in 2005. But I’ve never really taken a risk like this. And I wanted to move to the next step and take control of my own career. So, I’ve started a Patreon!
Patreon allows me to make content, build a community, and still consult for accessibility in a new way while still being able to do what I usually do, which is make accessible content on my YouTube channel and stream, as well as consult with studios on making accessible games. Patreon gives me more financial freedom and regular stability.
This Patreon will support the next steps in my online career in a new way. This will allow me to hire an editor potentially, get new games and equipment, and maybe make some new content I haven’t done before i.e.: maybe some TTRPG or podcasting down the road. Who knows! etc. Plus, it’ll help pay the bills, so I keep the mics and lights working.
