The base model is a 1/6th scale jumbo fiberglass kit from Battleground vehicles. This unit here is a production unit that was released in limited numbers back in 2011. The kit was given to me as payment for designing the kit and building the master that was used to make the molds. This model was in my stash since 2011 so now I can finally get to it and get it built. This build will be a series that will follow this build from start to finish. Old tank repair is a series on the ECA channel where I take an old downtrodden built model and give it a full restoration. Along the way I take the viewer along the process from start to finish. I also show several tips and techniques on how the process is done. In this episode the model that is getting rebuilt is an old 1/35th scale Tamiya 1980's M247 SGT York DIVAD SPAAG model. This model I built back in the 1993 and is one of the oldest tank models in my collection. The model was played with for several years where it fell into a bad state disrepair. In the year 2000 I did a restoration but several mistakes were made during the build and the paintwork. This model sat forgotten about in a display shelf for 20 years.
