Nahfahlaar / Nahfaalilargus is not a well-known dragon for those of us who've only played mainline TES games. He's in Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, and has a big appearance in Elder Scrolls Online: Dragonguard, but nowhere else... besides that cut line in Skyrim and "Atlas of Dragons". He's the dragon who helped Tiber Septim conquer Tamriel before Numidium entered the arena, and thus arguably one of the most interesting cases of a dragon exuding the quality of "domination". He allies with mortals, whether they have the dragonblood or not. And the mortal with the dragonblood he does help is Tiber Septim, our favorite 2nd to 3rd era dragonborn emperor himself. Naffy has a history showing remorse for their death, like the Khajiit Ja'darri. Which to me makes his personality a bit more interesting... almost "humanizing".
So what do you think? Is Nahfahlaar the ultimate agent of Akatosh? Is helping Tiber Septim directly promoting the eternity of the empire, the dragonfires, the amulet of kings? Did he knowingly make it his business to promote the ascent of Talos himself?

In your heart I'll plant the roots of a briar, And if you withdrew, Hircine would pursue.
The Reachmen were friendly. We used to be tame. Now we want to kill the ones you love. And without permission, the Nords are to blame, For taking all the lands we're thinking of ...Of raiding.
I don't want to set the Reach on fire. I just want to cast a flame on your heart.
I don't want to set the reach on fire, honey. I love it too much. I just want to double-cast a max level flame Down on your heart.
You see, that defiled heart inside me. Was gonna damn me in the afterlife. But that briarheart grew. And I knew, no other ritual wa'nt gonna do.
The Reachmen were friendly. We used to be tame. Now we're looting Markarth from below. And though it's apparent, revenge is our game, Jail time at Cidhna really blows. ...Believe me.
I don't want to set the Reach on fire. I just want to plant a seed in your heart.

Bravil is a port city on the Niben River of Cyrodiil, and should be seeing plenty of ship traffic going from Leyawiin to the Imperial City. So why is it poor? Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Legends, and Online all have clues related to Unemployment, labor, Khajiit, Elsweyr, minorities, leadership, incarceration, skooma, drugs, corruption, war, independence, and trade. Welcome to Bravil Lore.
Today, we'll talk about a variety of topics related to Bravil's squalid, slummy state. Here's some of the OC made for this video, which are free to use: -Bravil's Workforce Chart: https://i.imgur.com/AUA1Qeg.png -Dunmer/Khajiit on boats: imgur.com/gallery/k6o7dbZ
Bravil's workforce chart was very interesting to make. Shop gold, and actual pricing economies compared to other cities proved to be insignificant. However, taking account the number of Skooma Junkies in the Skooma Den, our unemployment number got pretty high for Bravil. Featured around 04:09 is a work force comparison to other counties around Cyrodiil.
We talk about Count Regulus Terentius, and his poor leadership. The empty jail cells in Bravil Castle Dungeon. Gellius Terentius, the skooma addict. Construction Kit dialogue helped to show some comments around town about the count and his drug addict son, as well as a loading screen.
Then, we talk about Skooma. A long section of the video, covering Elsweyr drug trafficking, thieves guild stuff, the Skooma Den, and skooma lore... sure to help explain that refined moonsugar. Bravil's relationship with Skooma explained.
Bravil's had its share of war. From the 1st Era's Alessian v. Ayleid war, where commander Teo Bravillius Tasus took the area after discovering the Ayleids' use of Alteration magicks. During the Interregnum, the Alliance War saw Bravil in the hands of the Thalmor - though in ESO, players must glitch to get to Bravil.
Then, Bravil was independent from the Empire. Leyawiin rebelled too. After the 4th Era, before Titus Mede I re-conquered the heartland, Water's Edge rose as a major trade post. Many merchants and businessmen opted to leave the crime-ridden city of Bravil behind, and Leyawiin was not much better off. They went to this village.
But war did not stop for this place. The drug war still ran rampant thanks to a combination of poor leadership, poor labor, and Bravil's inability to prosper. Elder Scrolls Legends' Dark Brotherhood mission shows Bravil in its deepest chaos of the 4th Era.
Finally, we go into Bravil's location, and prosperity as a port city. We follow two merchants: a Dunmer from Tear, and a Khajiit from Senchal.

Have you always wondered what Argonian breasts really consist of? Why do the “people of the Great Root” have boobs, if they’re cold blooded lizard people? Are Argonians mammals? The main theories in the lore community are that Argonian boobs either contain 1.) Breastmilk 2.) Hist Sap 3.) Nothing (or for attracting a mate). Today we’re going to look into all three using sources, ingame evidence, and science!
00:00 - Intro 00:45 - Part 0: Eggs 04:38 - Part 1: Breastmilk 08:09 - Part 2: Hist Sap 12:33 - Part 3: Sex Appeal 14:53 - Caveats/Conclusions
Eggs are a really important thing to talk about when understanding breasts on Argonians. Babies born out of eggs will generally receive nutrients a little differently than other creatures via the egg yolk. In fact, on an evolutionary scale, some scientists, like Olaf Oftedal PhD at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, believe breastfeeding has ancient origins in with the egg. Soft, porous eggs were used to give more water and nutrients to early land creatures. While some creatures developed harder shelled eggs (reptiles, birds), other creatures kept making porous eggs. Creatures used skin secretion to transfer nutrients, and some still do this today (platypus, emperor penguins, coqui frogs, caecilians, etc.) Other creatures do this through Historophy, or uterine secretion. Oftedal believes this was the evolutionary precursor to breastmilk. Histotrophy is interesting to us for a few reasons. First, obviously because the name has the word Hist in it. Second, because uterine secretions make for a compelling nutrient transfer argument for Argonians.
Ovoviviparity makes uterine secretions that much more useful and intentional. Basically if Argonians are laying eggs anyway, they’re that much less likely to be breastfeeding at all, and having uterine secretions makes breastfeeding that much less likely, because babies are getting all those nutrients. If Argonians are giving Hist Sap to their babies, the uterus is the place to do it, especially if the Hist’s magical energy flows through all Argonians anyway.
When Argonians are disconnected from the Hist, ESO hints via The Case of Ja-Reet that they in turn get more disconnected from Black Marsh Argonians. They are “born without something essential”... unable to read certain social cues, deprived of normal emotional intuition. We also have Kassandra in a similar situation.
Labeling Ja-Reet as “autistic” would normally be unfounded, but autistic members of the lore community have remarked connecting to the character, and Zenimax’s Matt Firor in an interview confirmed Ja-Reet and multiple others in ESO being on the spectrum.
But with this disability, it does not prove Hist Sap boobs. In fact, it proves the opposite to me. If an Argonian mother had any amount of Hist Sap in her breasts to make a difference, surely Ja-Reet and Kassandra would be normal. You could also imagine another scenario where the Hist actually dropped connection from Ja-Reet and slaves in Morrowind on purpose, to make Argonians seem more docile, so Black Marsh is less apt to invasion. They can buff up Argonians, like they did on Umbriel, Lord of Souls, during the Oblivion Crisis.
More than likely, Argonians have boobs either for sex appeal, or for literally no reason whatsoever. According to Lawrence Schtick the “Parable of Becoming”, says Argonians were made in the image of man & mer. Tribes like Agacephs, Nagas, etc. were created. So Argonians came from reptiles and amphibians, like Crocodiles, as noted in quests in Elder Scrolls Online’s Murkmire DLC.
The Saxhleel, mechanically, do not have belly-buttons in any of the Elder Scrolls games either. Daggerfall and Morrowind show them having no areola or nipple. We’ll talk about canon with Todd Howard regarding these kinds of things, too.

This video is about Argonian Belly-Buttons.
Come explore of timeline of belly buttons on Argonians starting in Daggerfall (TES I: Arena didn’t show bellies). All the way up to recent examples like Elder Scrolls Online, and Elder Scrolls Legends. The only example with a true Argonian belly-button are the female Argonians in Skyrim, in addition to the obscure markings in Morrowind. The Khajiit belly button makes sense because of their mammalian nature. Beast creature or not, a feline race would have breasts, umbilical cords, etc. Something reptilian would require a little more imagination. Thinking about it would be an incredible roleplay move. Did the Devs go the distance on this one, too?
Do you have a theory as to what this means? What of Argonian Boobs? Argonians are said to be Ovoviviparous, and this might prove things even further. Or does it leave us more confused, especially regarding the female belly-button in Skyrim? Do we disregard things we feel are Bethesda developer oversights?
Mark Nelson (Writer/Quest Designer) at Bethesda went on record as saying: "Men and Mer assume much about Argonians, but who among them has ventured deep into Black Marsh and lived to tell about it? They assume that Argonians lay eggs because they resemble the tree-dwelling lizards that scurry about on four legs. Yet they assume Argonians have live births, because the females have breasts with which they might suckle their young. Perhaps it is both, as necessity demands. All live at the whim of the Great Root."
This was in 2003, however, what do we discern about Argonian births, eggs, breasts, ovoviviparity, The Hist, in terms of modern Elder Scrolls lore? Is there some Leftover lore we can gather?
How can we step from a theory realm, to a based lore realm?
Argonians have been such a mystery to many, but the more one researches, the more there seems to open up. Learning about Argonians is like the region of Black Marsh itself -- a jungle that never gets shallower; a mystery that when you think you’ve understood it fully, trails off into further mysteries.
Have you ever asked yourself, "Why isn't there snow in Solitude?" This video attempts to answer that question using Skyrim's mechanical evidence, observing weather/climate systems in Tamriel, and some leftover lore on climates and "The Towers".
0:00 - Intro 0:28 - Mountain Shadow Effect 1:21 - Wind on Earth & Nirn 4:28 - Conditions for a warm Solitude 6:22 - The Towers 7:02 - Ingame Contradictions
Solitude, as the capital of Skyrim, gets surprisingly no snow as a possible weather. This could be due to a number of factors that we'll explore in this video, but namely stems from the mountain shadow effect. Why? Because in order for onshore Arctic precipitation to exist, it must come from warmer climates... such as Hammerfell, or Yokuda. Since a mountain blocks this precipitation, most of the moisture/snow hitting Skyrim's NW coast gathers in the mountains behind Solitude without ever making it to the other side. The rest of it makes its way around Solitude's peninsula, missing the city, and continuing on through the rest of Skyrim. This same angle of attack can be seen with Solstheim's coldest part being at its most NW point. I believe that these points are no accident.
Further, weather coming from the other direction to Solitude (from Atmora/N Morrowind), is certainly colder, but drier and unlikely to produce proper precipitation strong enough to push towards Solitude (warm fronts typically prevail over cold). Even if snowier conditions did reach Solitude from the NE, we have evidence in game that the river flowing out of Solitude is much warmer than normal rivers. This will absolutely affect the temperature of Ocean Currents, which affects weather from the North.
There are two major points along the river's journey to Solitude where we see "steam". A couple river sources near warmer Whiterun, and the docks of Solitude itself. It's probably not actually boiling water, but a common phenomenon that happens when water is even just a little warmer than outside colder air. Unless you believe in the Throat of the World/Whiterun Supervolcano theory, it's probably this. Which can manipulate the temperature of river runoff, the estuaries, ergo nerby ocean temp, ergo weather.
Tower Lore can offer us a fun fantasy-like reason to believe that the capital of Skyrim might have been "designed" to be devoid of snow. But lore on "The Towers" is shrouded too much in speculation... even the big sources we have are explicitly listed as theoretical. I would welcome a contradiction to this from a lorebeard, though. At the end of the day, it IS magical world, and in the games alone we've seen a number of weather alterations from magic.
It's also important to make the point that the game is probably in perma-summer mode, because Skyrim starts @ 17th Last Seed (AKA mid-August). If the developers implemented seasons, we might see Solitude with snow around Evening Star (December).
Wind direction in Skyrim has some mechanical evidence, too. But it's because rain/blizzards go towards the East. Always. Unless you input a weather with console command, it'll blow NNE, until you open the map or something, and it'll go back to blowing East.

Have you ever looked up at the night sky, and thought you might be seeing constellations? Have you also wondered if Star Sign movements work as they do in the lore? Do they shift in the sky differently throughout the year? Did you know that Azura's Star is a real star that can be seen in the night sky?
Stargazing for constellations in Vanilla (unmodded) Elder Scrolls games is a real thing, and its mechanics are based on lore. 0:00 - Intro 0:44 - Skybox Chronology 4:00 - Stargazing (how-to & mods) 5:22 - From Mechanics to Lore (in-detail) 8:22 - Azura's Star
Some Star Facts also discussed in this video: -All 12 Star signs appear in Skyrim and Oblivion. The 3 Guardian stars (Warrior, Mage, Thief) appear in Morrowind. There are no star signs in the night sky in The Elder Scrolls Online, Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, or Redguard. However, Arena features Masser & Secunda. -Skyrim's night sky has a yearly cycle that shifts every night, like in real life. This means certain constellations will rise in different places every month. A constellation won't appear in the exact same place until the same date the next year. Except, no leap year day exists. Which is actually necessary because the skybox is off by about a day when the next year rolls around. -Lore tells us that Star Signs rise with the sun on their given month, but this is not an ingame mechanic. -Also every night has the same amount of daylight minutes as the last. -Azura's Star *may* exist. But it's conditional location *DOES*: "Below the constellation of the Steed..." The Steed gets equal time in both the East & West horizon on exactly 21 Evening Star (Real life: 21 December = Winter Solstice). Every other night, it gets more time on the other hoirzon since rising locations shift every day. This is because of the night skybox's 45 degree angle.
Arena to Battlespire featured no night sky constellations, but Arena featured a full day/night cycle, a MOVING NIGHT SKYBOX, and Masser & Secunda. Daggerfall got no rotating skybox. Redguard started giving us starmaps, that were actually usable for later games, and later lined up similar to Oblivion's DLC Orrery. Also lined up with Morrowind's feature of the Guardian star signs. Then, Oblivion's skybox rotation shifted 45 degrees, and made a full pass every other night. Skyrim's was every night.
The 3 Guardian Star Signs protect their charges from harm. Each Guardian (Warrior, Mage, Thief) protects their own set of 3 charges each (Lady, Lord, Steed, Apprentice, Atronach, Ritual, Tower, Shadow, Lover). The Guardians theoretically watch out for the Serpent, a "lone star sign", which has no month attached to it, but allegedly moves around the sky, preying on the other star signs. During a constellation's given month, it may be able to watch the Serpent from the opposite side of the sky to protect the others from danger. This is of course, not in a game mechanic, but makes the Serpent star sign that much cooler in my opinion!

This was made extremely possible thanks to the Complete Symphonic Orchestra recording of Les Misérables. I do not own the rights to this music or this recording.

Tell me what you think, would you like to see more of Jean Valjean? This now completes the first 10m of the nearly 3hr musical. Though I have learned a lot from making this video and can expect them to come out quicker in the future.

After some inspiration, I thought I'd add my own findings into the mix of this Redfall business, as well as my own speculation. Redfall, for those out of the loop, is the new trademark many speculate to be the new title for The Elder Scrolls 6. This video was a lot of fun, tell me if you'd like more! I started this project about 6 years ago and never finished... it was taking weeks to make so I got lazy and postponed it forever. Last night I found it on my hard drive incomplete and decided to get it done =)
Made with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim & The Creation Kit, both of which were created by Bethesda. The music is from a live orchestra recording of Les Misérables, not done by me.

---LYRICS: I'm steppin' out with a memory tonight, To paint the town the way we used to do. We'll dine at the old cafe where we had so much fun, And order cocktails two, instead of the usual one... Riiip!!
Then after dark in a hansom thru the park, While reminiscing I'll be kissing you *kiss* *kiss* *kiss-kiss* A lot of folks will think we're crazy, And maybe they are right, But I'm stepping out with a memory tonight.

Here is a demo reel for the Overture of the upcoming production, showcasing the mouse as a camera.
The mouse is very handy as a camera and can make wonderfully precise camera paths. I think it is a lot more consistent with the SUCSM command as well, as the analog stick seems to slow down in certain areas, even with a full throttle. However, the mouse camera is poor with smooth movements, and if your game destabilizes it can ruin a shot (shown @0:16).
Les Misérables in Skyrim! Here is a demo reel featuring the Overture in the upcoming production. This video showcases using the analog stick on an Xbox360 Controller as a camera. Much smoother performance, but harder to make precise camera paths.Skyrim: Les Misérables - Lip Sync TestLeftoverPat2013-04-19 | After hours and hours and hours of torture I have figured out how to create unique voices for NPCs without failure. Here is a test video as I celebrate my victory and say goodbye to a day off of work I will never get back.
I couldn't have done it without the sweat and tears people have put into guides about this on the internet. Creation Kit sure is incredible.
Besides Creation Kit, this video also features the Puppeteer mod to get the cool poses.
