Fastest time in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Any% as of October 17th, 2024.
The early game is improvable, particularly the building of the "Onix" where I accidentally regrabbed the first rock when it was already in position. The second enemy room in Null's Body can be faster, as can the final boss with a better first phase, but overall this run was pretty solid.

It uses two Wrong Warp glitches to first access the overworld before completing the first dungeon, as well as another to reach the lair of the final boss.

This run currently stands as the fastest Link's Awakening has been beaten without the use of Arbitrary Code Execution, improving the previous best time by around 2 seconds, held by Flynn. Really solid run overall with no missed Screen Warps and good final boss luck. The Ganon fight was slightly sloppy, but it still appears to have been enough for a 2:51 when retimed (the split in the video was slightly late).

Note that "Warpless" refers to prohibiting exploits such as "Screen Warping" and "Wrong Warping", rather than the fast travelling warps in the overworld which are considered fair game. Additional restrictions include the ban of System Transitions (transitioning between different caves or dungeons through Out of Bounds means), the Super Swim glitch that lets you walk through walls, and finally screen transitioning on a solid tile where you would otherwise be unable to move.

First solid run with the Octo Clip route. Rough Ocarina glitches as well as the start of Palace of Winds and Dark Hyrule Castle, but still a massive overperformance considering the amount of attempts I've put in so far. Landed every major manip and most tricks solidly.
Ran on Game Boy Interface on a Japanese cartridge with a Gamecube controller.

Video that describes to process for installing bgb and setting up the GB/C (Game Boy / Game Boy Color) BIOS for uses in speedrunning GB/C games such as the Oracles or Link's Awakening. My voice sounds a little messed up because I was sick with a cold on the day of the recording.

The goal of this category is to complete the game with no additional restrictions. This is accomplished by using a complex glitch known as Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE), which at the end of the run allows us to warp directly to the credits with only three of the dungeons fully beaten. Unlike many other speedruns utilizing ACE however, we still need to play through a sizable amount of the game in order to gain access to the tools necesssary to perform the glitch.
Many other techniques are used throughout the run, including RNG manipulation, major skips using damage boosts, and most notably an human-viable pitwalk before the second dungeon, requiring four frame perfect directional changes. This allows us to preserve a cutscene trigger to be used later in the game in order to put the game into a “cutscene state” (happens around the 1 hour mark). The state takes away our ability to enter buildings and open the menu, but more importantly renders whirlpools virtually non-existent, which lets us to sail right into Dungeon 8, having only beaten two dungeons prior. Overall, this saves around 4 minutes compared to playing the Goron mini games and beating Dungeon 6 like we used to in older routes. We need to beat either one of dungeons 6, 7, or 8 in order to gain access to Ambi’s Palace and the final harp tune, after which we then have all the tools necessary to reach the credits of the game.
This run had a few mistakes towards the beginning, and some noteworthy ones like the Switch Hook room in Dungeon 4 as well as getting knocked into a pit by a Keese on the way to Dungeon 8. These timelosses probably added up to around 20 seconds of reasonable time to save, but the rest of the run was fairly clean and I happened to get perfect luck in the Possessed Queen Ambi fight which gained a fair bit of time.

The goal of this category is to complete the game while beating all 8 dungeons and collecting the Maku Seed. The game-breaking Rooster Adventure glitch utilized in the Any% category is not permitted. However, the run still makes use of quite a few techniques such as RNG manipulation, Hide & Seek Skip, and Hyper Slingshot Skip.

The run had many solid levels and had my best time out of World 1 ever (15:39). There were a couple of ugly mistakes/bad luck in levels such as 2-1, 2-3, 5-1, 6-2, 7-3, and 8-3, but I'm pretty happy with this time overall for the time being.

The run itself was very solid overall until I sadly lost a ton of time during the final boss due to a combination of bad luck and poor execution. Will improve at some point.
On the positive side however, this is my first personal best achieved on real hardware, being played with Game Boy Interface using a 1.0 Japanese cartridge. A long term goal of mine will be to update all of my old speedrunning times to be performed on console rather than emulator, though this is largely ambitious and will likely take a long time to fullfil.
I hope you'll enjoy despite the noticable dip in quality.
Just copying SBD's description:
When you fall in the hole, make sure Link respawns in a position where he can run to the left without bumping into the Magnet Block. Jump over the gap and line up your X-position (you can do this with or without having Pegasus Seeds active). You can be 1 or 2 pixels further left than in the video and the setup will still work.
Now wait for the Seed to run out and line up your Y-position exactly as in the video. Drop a bomb and walk 4 or 5 pixels right. If you use the Bomb as your visual cue, that will work irrespective of your exact X-position.
On the 4th red flash or on one of the 3 frames after, use Seeds and do a neutral jump. Immediately after jumping, hold down-left to clip into the wall.
Small correction: At 4:05 I start explaining the timing for the first jump, and it is actually possible to jump on every frame of the 3rd red flash unlike what the diagram suggests. Basically, it works on every frame in that image except for the very first one.
Things that I have yet to figure out is:
1. What seeds to cut out in order to have 2-3 left after D3
2. Which Gold Ore is the fastest to dig up
3. What seeds are the fastest to use after buying them from the shop
Other things to note is buying the Shield on the same shop trip as Star Ore.

This run currently stands as the fastest Link's Awakening DX has been beaten without the use of Arbitrary Code Execution, improving the previous best time by merely 4 frames, held by Riddler. That one Octorok will haunt my dreams, but as far as the Ocarina route with Deathl Skip goes this is still pretty solid.

I should mention that it's possible to extend the manipulation all the way to the Power Bracelet chest in Dungeon 2, so I may make a follow-up video on that at some point in the future. For now though, the best way to learn that would probably be to copy my current Personal Best, which is linked below.
If you're having trouble getting the 30 kills necessary for Maple to spawn, I can recommend watching my current Personal Best in order to get a better idea of what to kill: youtube.com/watch?v=R023kmAJI4o
In general though, you want to aim for something like this;
8 required Stalfos
8 optional Gels (split up Zols)
7 Keese
4 optional Gels on the way back (split up Zols)
3 Moblins
For every Octorok you kill between getting the Sword and backtracking to the village, subtract 1 Keese.

Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) has been possible in Oracle of Ages for some time. By exploiting vulnerabilities in the Link Cable feature of the Oracle games, we can leverage that to achieve ACE in Oracle of Seasons, too! This allows us to achieve the Linked Game ending, while playing and linking together the games, in a much smaller amount of time than previous possible, due to the Seasons part of the run being essentially completely cut out.
A written explanation of what is happening with the ACE later on in the run can be read here: drenn1.github.io/ace
