This was the state's rebuttal case, where they were also allowed to introduce prosecutor-edited portions of Gavin's sheriff interview. It was another highly controversial ruling by Melville to allow the video in rebuttal, rather than during direct when Gavin was on the stand. The judge allowed it while advising it wasn't for the "truth of the matter." In fact Gavin's sheriff interview directly contradicted major claims he made on the stand, including attributing a sexual story to Michael Jackson when he had originally said that story came from his grandmother in his sheriff interview. Impartial court commentators at the time observed that Gavin's statements in the video were often at odds with his remarks when on the stand. The defense opted to rest instead of recalling Gavin back to the stand for surrebuttal, which otherwise could have added days onto the trial.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 53 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-30 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Jay Leno (Continued), Chris Tucker. The judge disallowed Larry King from testifying in front of the jury about his purported interactions with Larry Feldman, where he indicated Feldman called Janet Arvizo a whacko only after money. Michael Viner was also present during that conversation and told the court "Feldman had met with [Arvizos] and felt that their statements, their case didn't hold up to scrutiny, and he didn't believe them." Viner's testimony was also barred from court, despite Judge Melville allowing in many third party witnesses for the prosecution who had court-declared perjury, malice, theft and ~$2M in judgments for failed civil litigation against Michael Jackson. Those witnesses likewise told stories of hearing or seeing incidents that the parties themselves consistently denied ever happened, yet their testimonies were still allowed in open court.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 50 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-30 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Simone Jackson (continued), Rijo Jackson.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 49 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-30 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Angel Vivanco, Irene Peters, Simone Jackson.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 48 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-29 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Mark Geragos, Carole McCoy, Maria Gomez, Shane Meridith.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 47 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-29 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Carlos Velasco, David LeGrand, non-jury arguments regarding Mark Geragos' subpoena.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 46-B (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-28 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment of: Macaulay Culkin. He was called specifically to dispute hearsay claims made by the prosecution's tabloid-profiting witnesses who specifically mentioned him as a victim. The defense did not call any character witnesses, only ones who had direct relevance to the state's case and prosecution witnesses. Q. Did Mr. Jackson say something in regards to that?
A. Just that he wanted to know what was going on.
...
Q. Was he told what he needed to say or was there any discussion about what he needed to say to Debbie Rowe?
A. Yeah.
...
Q. Who was on this telephone conversation?
A. Dieter, Marc and then Michael.

In commentary, James Curtis and Rikki Klieman inaccurately claim the 1993 charges were "only dropped after [the civil settlement]" but the criminal probe in fact continued for 8 months after the civil settlement, including through two extended grand juries and 400+ witness. “Michael Jackson is presumed to be innocent as any citizen in this room is if they are not convicted of a crime. We are not charging Michael Jackson with a crime.” -Gil Garcetti (September 21, 1994)
Regarding the 1993 books, the state had a third book from the same raid that also featured girls at play, but they voluntarily excluded that one to only fixate on the ones with boys. These retail books were noted as rare and out-of-print in the late-1980s when MJ received them, with the state admitting "from the inscription it appears that possibly a fan...gave the book to him..." The books were found in a filing cabinet that Blanca Francia still had the key for years after she worked at Neverland. The state agreed that MJ had "a tremendous amount of material from fans that was sent to him."Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 38 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-24 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Debbie Rowe (Continued). A companion special encapsulates both days of Debbie's testimony within the context of what the prosecutors alleged her relevance would be, starting at 18:29. This second special contains more extended versions of her testimony without commentary. Debbie openly admitted to prosecutors that she lied about being actively part of her children's family in her 2003 rebuttal remarks; she stated she said that on her own accord "to protect the children and to try to keep the media and questions away and out of their focus...."Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 37 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-24 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Debbie Rowe. For months leading up to this testimony, the media considered Debbie to be the "devastating bombshell witness" for the prosecution. Sneddon hoped she would corroborate Janet Arvizo's claims that the rebuttal interview footage was forced and completely scripted. But Debbie explained (from 13:50 onward) there was no scripting and it was a voluntary ask to participate, and nobody including Michael Jackson had control over what she said or didn't. "She summed it up when she described the media. If something's black, they could describe it as white or vice versa. That's about as accurate as it gets with the reporting in this case." -Howard Weitzman.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 36 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-23 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Kassim Abdool (Continued), Janet Arvizo (rehash for context), motion arguments regarding Battered Woman Syndrome.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 35 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-23 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Motion Arguments regarding Debbie Rowe's future testimony (Debbie's actual testimony later backfired catastrophically on the prosecution), Kassim Abdool. Abdool was a compliment to Ralph Chacon as part of the 1108 "prior bad acts" hearsay witnesses, which the host emphasizes "they've both also taken money from tabloids and both have also lost in court, and lost big against Michael Jackson." Abdool was part of the Neverland 5 lawsuit that resulted in repeat sanctions against the plaintiffs for perjury and an ultimate 7-figure jury verdict in MJ's favor after finding theft and malice had occurred by the plaintiffs. Abdool "getting emotional" during the testimony here is noteworthy because he did the same when testifying in 1996, which MJ's defense believed to be contrived and spontaneous for jury manipulation. Back than Abdool told wild stories about alleged Neverland threats and intimidation even including machine guns (none of those claims were substantiated by any other witnesses, but did have ties to fiction writer Victor Gutierrez).Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 33-34 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-23 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Brian Barron, Janet Arvizo (rehash for context), motion arguments regarding Battered Woman Syndrome.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 32-B (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-22 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Maria Ventura (Continued), Michael Davy.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 32-A (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-22 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Janet Arvizo (Continued), Maria Ventura.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 31 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-22 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Janet Arvizo (Continued). During the Arvizos alleged captivity by Michael Jackson and his co-conspirators, they actually frequented Jay Jackson's house as well as their grandparents house. Never once suggesting anything abnormal was happening with them and MJ. Janet would later claim she had to speak in code. The family "escaped" Neverland and voluntarily returned at least three times during this alleged false imprisonment period, which also predated any other alleged crimes (after Tom Sneddon amended the timeline to compensate for exculpatory evidence).Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 26 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-20 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: June Chandler. June was the only Chandler family member to testify at trial. Jordan Chandler was approached by the FBI in 2004 and again by prosecutors in 2005 and he refused to testify or be involved and indicated he would legally fight any request to do so. Evan Chandler was also never raised as a subject in court, but in 2005 he still owed more than $50,000 to ABC and Diane Sawyer for his failed second $60,000,000 civil suit against 300 defendants. In 2003, Tom Sneddon told Diane Dimond that he wouldn't ever bring any allegations up about Jordan Chandler if Jordan himself did not take the stand to testify, but he did exactly that by calling only third party witnesses relating to those uncharged claims.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 25 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-20 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Adrian McManus (Continued), Phillip LeMarque.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 24 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-15 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Ralph Chacon, Adrian McManus. Both of these 1108 witnesses were part of the failed Neverland 5 civil lawsuit in the 1990s where Michael Jackson obtained a $1.3M judgment against them, with Chacon and McManus specifically being fount to had committed theft and malice. Prosecutors were allowed to introduce unsubstantiated claims by those who only told them for profit to media outlets, despite the actual subjects they refer to not being required to testify and not being called by the state itself.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 23 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-08 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Blanca Francia (Continued). The April 2005 portion of the criminal trial revolved largely around the "1108 Evidence" in which prosecutors were allowed to introduce other untried allegations, largely pulled from paid tabloid headlines of the 1990s including from the TV show Hard Copy and related print publications.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 22 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-08 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Jason Francia, Blanca Francia. Jason Francia was initially interrogated by investigators in 1993-1994 following Blanca's $20,000 Hard Copy tabloid story, where she also sold photos of Jason against his protests. Initially he repeatedly denied anything inappropriate and didn't even know what they were getting at. At least two investigators told him lies about Culkin and Corey Feldman to insist they were abused by MJ and pressured Jason to say something happened (even just tickling) to help save the others before it was too late. Blanca Francia would tell a story of seeing MJ in the shower with Wade Robson, but under oath and repeatedly in 1994, 2005 and 2016 she admitted she didn't see or even hear anything but MJ's shadow that day--and Wade Robson's first visit to Neverland postdated her timeline of when she claimed she saw this incident. These are two witnesses Wade Robson and James Safechuck now rely on for their civil cases.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 21 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-07 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Larry FeldmanMichael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 20-B (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-07 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Stanley Katz (Continued), William DickermanMichael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 20-A (Full Episode)TSCM2024-03-07 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Cynthia Ann Bell (Continued), Stanley Katz.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 19-B (Full Episode)TSCM2024-02-22 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: George Lopez (Continued), Jamie Masada, Cynthia Ann Bell.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 19-A (Full Episode)TSCM2024-02-22 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: 1108 "Prior Bad Acts" Motion, George Lopez, Ann Lopez. The 1108 ruling allowed prosecutors to present testimony and evidence from the 1993 investigation. While Sneddon told the media in 2003 he would only bring 1108 evidence and testimony if Jordan himself took the stand or else it would be unfair hearsay, by 2005 he did the exact opposite. The second month of the 2005 trial saw a series of tabloid-profiting witnesses from 1993-1994 including Adrian McManus, Ralph Chacon, Blanca Francia, Phil LeMarque and others. Each of these witnesses (and at times, their attorneys) profited tens of thousands by selling scandalous stories to the media. Many were part of an unsuccessful wrongful termination lawsuit, which they lost and the jury found several had acted with actual malice and theft. The same familiar names and some others from Hard Copy lore reemerged in 2013-2024 as part of the Wade and James civil litigation.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 18 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-02-14 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Robert Spinner, Alicia Romero. Later witnesses claimed the Arvizo boys had been caught rummaging through drawers and personal belongings not just at Neverland but at other guest homes they visited as well. It was testified that they were caught at Neverland with adult materials on their own, including ones brought from their home. Star claimed in court to had been shown a specific magazine at Neverland, only for it to be revealed that the magazine postdated their last visit to Neverland, creating an impossible timeline.Michael Jackson Trial Reenactment: Day 17 (Full Episode)TSCM2024-02-12 | patreon.com/MJJRepository Includes reenactment and commentary of: Lisa Hemman, Antonio Cantu.
