Meydän - High Meydän 2025-01-05 | This song was inspired by the surreal work of @Uppermost, who has been and continues to be an inspiration in my musical journey. I think I first discovered his tunes 15 years ago. Had his ethereal beats on loop since then. His music always finds a way to my soul, can't really explain why. This tribute song is a way for me to give back what he's been giving to me all these years: an uplifting punch in the gut filled with hope and love for humanity. The cover is a truly breathtaking photo taken by my very close friend Jim Newblood. Abstraction | String Formations Demo | Fracture Sounds Meydän 2024-05-22 | As a heavy user of basically everything Fracture Sounds has made, I'm thrilled to have had the chance to write a demo track showcasing their newest sample library String Formations, so I thought it'd be cool to upload it here. Technical details: 100% String Formations, no other libs, no comp, no EQ, nothing on the mix channels. I only have a single Fabfilter L2 limiter on the master chain. I had the idea of going purely out of the box for this demo instead of contextual with other libs, to showcase the different articulations better and to immediatly give the listener a direct idea of the sound. Context is crucial, of course, but personally I always listen to "naked" demos first, often only them. Bit tired of buying stuff that sound nothing like the demo. So I wrote a short and a bit abstract harmonic progression that gently flies through differents modulations to showcase the different timbres here and there. Austin Wintory Contest (2023) Meydän 2023-11-19 | A short piece made for Austin Wintory latest contest: youtube.com/watch?v=lpzRk6NF1KQI interpreted the proposed melody as a B flat mixolydian arpeggio, so I basically built on that! Came up with the idea of voicing the melody with a violin, while a second violin completes the harmony and supports the chord progression. I also added a cello to support the overall gradual build-up with light spiccatos, adding a bit more life and excitement to the mix. I also added a celeste, because... I always add a celeste?
