Boor’s extraordinary 10-year leadership, CALS has successfully grown the diversity and vibrancy of the student and faculty populations and gained the unwavering support of private and public entities. Two-story mural nurtures connections with plants Cornell CALS 2020-05-04 | Brazilian street artist Eder Muniz created a two-story mural in September 2019 in Cornell Botanic Gardens, who commissioned the mural as part of its mission to nurture the unique and personal connections people have to plants. While on campus, Muniz also discussed his art form, inspiration and process with students in Cornell art and print media classes."A Dança Da Natureza" (The Dance of Nature) is an inspirational display of plant biodiversity in human cultures. Anna Botsford Comstock: scientific illustrator, naturalist and leader Cornell CALS 2020-04-03 | Carol Anelli, professor and associate chair of the Department of Entomology at Ohio State University, came to Cornell in October 2018 to talk about the accomplishments of Anna Botsford Comstock. Comstock graduated from Cornell in 1875 and later became a prolific scientific illustrator, naturalist and leader in the nature study movement. In 1913, she became Cornell’s first female member—indicative of her contributions as both an educator and a scientist.
