The track starts off moody and dark sounding… like a rainy day. There are drums, there is bass, and acoustic guitar. It’s almost a heavy rock acoustic track.
"Unravel" is a song about the right person and how he or she can make your wound-up, stressed-out world feel peaceful. And it’s funny in a way that, especially this acoustic track, as it sounds almost the opposite of peaceful. It almost sounds pissed off! Despite the content of the words, the track sounds somewhat dark. It’s a gorgeous juxtaposition in how the music runs almost contrary to the lyrics.
The feeling of "peace" is underrated. There's something to be said for "peace" and "peacefulness." We live lives of "wake up, shower, dress, work, earn, run errands, pay bills, eat, sleep, etc." The simplicity of finding quietness and calm in a love relationship is so valuable.
When someone enters your life who brings that calm, you can't help but feel something powerful for them. "Unravel" speaks to that person in your life, that love interest who doesn't bring drama or pressure but whose very presence brings calm and peace and helps you to unwind. And oddly, at least musically, the song almost achieves the opposite: it winds up the listener. As we’ve said before, we love to experiment with genre and musical styles.
The pace of the song, the energy of this version, sounds almost sad or as though the love was lost not being celebrated – and we think this is cool and unexpected. We hope you do too.
Our new moody pop rock song, “Tight” is out now! It's a song about one man’s relationship with temptation. In the song, we explore how someone can be tempted, despite being in an otherwise perfect marriage. We reveal a man, probably on a business trip, out of town, staying in a hotel. He grabs a drink in the hotel lounge, and he’s approached by a ravishing and sexually appealing woman.
In the song, we reveal that the main character has all the trappings of success, “German car, country club, empty spaces full of stuff…”. Yet he still somehow wants more, and cannot stop thinking about this ravishing woman who tempted him to the point of distraction.
The key to the song is there’s no happy ending. There is no resolution. We leave him conflicted. Yes, he didn’t cheat on his wife. But he’s also not at peace.
We hope you like our somewhat unhappy, perhaps moody song about a man dealing with his own struggles and sense of shame resulting from a serious temptation.
"Unravel" is a song we've always loved. We've previously released a more laid-back version of the same song, but this version ROCKS! It's a simple song about love and how the right person can make your wound-up, stressed-out existence feel relaxed, at ease, at peace.
The feeling of being "at peace" is a wonderful experience and we think it's underrated. So many people chase love and being in-love or the excitement of new love, but there's something to be said for "peace" and "peacefulness." We live lives of "wake up, shower, dress, work, earn, run errands, pay bills, eat, sleep..." and the simplicity of being still, of finding quietness and calm, is so valuable. The band 21 Pilots had a line in their song, "Stressed Out" that I always loved: "Wake up, you need to make money..." And on some level, all of our lives move from the innocence of being a child with the absence of cares and worries, to the pressures of paying bills and meeting obligations. Pressure and stress are an ever-present feature of adulthood. Calm is rare. Peace, even more rare...
When someone enters your life who brings that calm, that peacefulness into your world, you can't help but feel something powerful for them. Unravel speaks to that person in your life, that love interest who doesn't bring drama or pressure but whose very presence brings calm and peace and helps you to unwind.
What's ironic is that a song about peace and tranquility and about the person who helps you achieve that peace and calm, can rock this hard and be this high energy. We made that choice intentionally. We love to play with genre, with style, even recording a happy song in a sad, minor key. In this case, we re-recorded a song about the love interest who helps "my wound up self unwind" in the most high-energy way we could come up with. The song taps into our love of arena style rock songs -- epic, big songs. The driving electric guitars coupled with the soaring vocal lines, the melody that moves higher and higher as the song progresses, all run counter to the calming narrative the song suggests.
The pace of the song, the energy of this version, is almost frenetic, wild, and out of control. But the lyric speaks to a love who brings the opposite energy into your world. And after you've heard and shared the song, we hope you just can't help yourself but to unravel.
The moon doesn't generate its own light, it merely reflects the light of the sun, and, similarly, we can only shine as brightly as the people around us that love us. Our new single "The Sun Lights Up The Moon" is a heartwarming indie pop rock song that's all about that 🌝🌞

We're excited to share not one, but three remixes of our single "Dancing with Dakota". Today, we're focusing on this awesome remix by producer Cutmore who's remixed for the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, Sia, and more, with multiple US and UK Dance Chart Number 1’s 🔥
Our longtime fans will recognize this song, as we've released a version of it years ago. However, we decided to pull that version while we reimagined it into this new EP. The main version off the EP features a synth pop Cigarettes After Sex vibe to it. Other versions of the song off the EP include a dance remix as well as a rock one akin to the original and finally an acoustic version.
“Dancing with Dakota” tells the story of Eddy, a lonely man who falls in love with a woman who goes by her stage name, “Dakota,” who happens to be an exotic dancer. Dakota's job requires her to be flirtatious and shower affection and attention on customers in the club -- it's all part of the job. Eddy on the other hand, mistakes this attention for actual, real love; but despite his deepest wishes, her imagined love for him is just an illusion.
This is a special song about love, specifically about that tingly euphoria we feel when we find new love and how it can make the moon shine brighter 🌝
The song is a slow buildup rock song with pop sensibilities. "MoonShine" originated on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The song came about after a dinner date at a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The date moved from the restaurant to the beach for a moonlit stroll along a stretch of beach near Oakland Blvd and A1A. The moon was full and it was a gorgeous South Florida night – the kind of weather that people move to Florida for: warm with a gentle breeze. Everything felt just perfect. Everything about that night, and that new relationship, just seemed to make everything a little better. She seemed to make the moon seem to shine just a little bit brighter, (in his memory of the night) hence the title of the song and the line in the chorus: “tonight, tonight, you make the moon shine.” 🌙
We've attempted to create a new musical arrangement around it that reflects our new sound with the blend of hip hop drums and organic drums, keyboards and rock guitar.
The song is about "ghosting" -- when someone ends a relationship by simply vanishing and being unreachable. It leaves a hole where once there was friendship, where once there may have been intimacy. The person who is ghosted often projects their worst fears into the absence of information around why the person disappeared as in, "was it something I said? Something I did? Did I make them angry? Were they offended by something?"
We as humans often project our deepest seated fears into that absence of information, and we are tortured by our own minds as we imagine all the reasons it might have happened. And worst of all, most people imagine their own faults and shortcomings as the reason for the other person's actions.
In this song, we speak to the opposite side of that equation: The person who did the ghosting. We don't absolve him, or seek to justify their actions. Instead we hope to reveal that even the person who does the ghosting can suffer as a result (if they're not a sociopath, of course). "Tell Her I Love Her" shows the longing for relationship and love from the person who did the ghosting, revealing that his reason for ghosting wasn't a good reason, just his own insecurity, fear of commitment, etc. By the end of the song, he realizes his mistake -- he cannot ask a friend to casually check-in with this person, and pass along that he's sorry and wishes to undo his error. He has to do it himself, "face to face. It's gotta come from me, not you... I know what I've gotta do... I gotta tell her I love her..." While we all beat ourselves silly with our own negative self talk, maybe this song will convince someone, somewhere, that the person who has ghosted, has their own issues, and that it's not their (the ghostee's) fault.Love, Lies and Fiction – Dream Away the LonelyLove, Lies And Fiction2021-01-15 | 🎧 Stream or download the song at https://band.link/dreamawaythelonely
"Dream Away the Lonely" is a song about the loss of a relationship. We hope it speaks to anyone who's suffered a breakup and is struggling with moving past it. It gets better, with time. You have to go through the sad and get past it 💙Drunk MeLove, Lies And Fiction2020-06-19 | A pop rock single “Drunk Me” by Love, Lies and Fiction is out now and you can listen to it at https://bnd.lc/DrunkMe
Nowadays, the band members of Love, Lies and Fiction don't drink much, if at all, but some of us got here the hard way. This song explores that relationship with drinking, namely how getting a bit too tipsy helps build up some social courage, but it usually comes at a cost.
Enjoy the song and drink responsibly!
🎤 LYRICS:
People like drunk me Cause drunk me likes to dance Breaks out all the moves U can’t touch this - running man Drunk me knows everyone, and everyone’s a friend Never goes home early, stays out till last call ends
When it comes to drinkin’ I start thinkin’
Chorus:
If I could get sober... me, to lighten up Just wanna get sober... me to fall in love, Yeah, like drunk me does Just wanna be, a little bit more like drunk me I wish sober me was more like drunk me
Drunk me works the room Knows just what to say Doesn’t over think When she looks his way
Sober me so’s lonely, if only
Chorus:
If I could get sober, me, to lighten up Just wanna get sober, me to fall in love, Yeah, like drunk me does Just wanna be, a little bit more like drunk me I wish sober me was more like drunk me
BRIDGE:
Drunk me can’t remember what sober me can’t forget Drunk me writes checks, sober me get’s the debt Drunk me doesn’t worry, sober me’s a mess Sober me and drunk me, I think it’s time you met#LoveYouAllOverAgain – Love, Lies and Fiction (OFFICIAL VIDEO)Love, Lies And Fiction2020-04-07 | Thank you all for participating in the "Love You All Over Again" contest! If they used technology, to delete your memory, from my mind If they erased, every trace, of your face, I would fight…
[Chorus]
To find you again, even though you’d be a stranger, I would know It was you, and sooner or later… I’d love you all over again I’d love you all over again
I would recognize you from your vibe, your inner child, your radiant glow It’s a mystic thing connecting you and me that we can’t control
[Chorus]
I would find you again, even though you’d be a stranger I would know, It was you, and sooner or later… I’d love you all over again I’d love you all over again
[Bridge]
If they erased my memory, you’d have to play it back for me You remember everything from loving me so long Did we laugh until it hurts? Who said I love you first? And when we danced, what was our song?
[guitar solo]
There’s no technology, that could delete, your memory, from my mind They can’t erase, a single trace, of your face, but if they tried…
[Chorus]
To find you again, you will never be stranger I will know, that it’s you, ‘cause we belong together I’ll love you all over again I’ll love you all over again
The cross-country pop-rock song follows Eddie, a lonely man that's chasing a love beyond his grasp, an exotic dancer by the name of Dakota who cares for him only as a client. Unrequited love. ♥ ♥ ♥
She called herself Dakota, She danced at Solid Gold. With two kids and no money, She had to work the pole. Eddie was an engineer, He hadn’t kissed a girl in years, Dakota took him by the hand, For his first private dance.
CHORUS He’s dancin’ with Dakota, And his blood is runnin’ hot. For three amazing minutes, Until the music stops. He’s dancin’ with Dakota, In the back room of the club. To her it’s just a job, But to him it feels like love.
(Oh, Oh, Dakota)
He comes back almost every night, He’s sure that this is real. He’s just another customer, But that’s not how he feels. He wants to take her on a date. Red wine, candles, and a steak. He imagines he’s her man, But he pays her every dance.
CHORUS He’s dancin’ with Dakota, And his blood is runnin’ hot. For three amazing minutes, Until the music stops. He’s dancin’ with Dakota, In the back room of the club. To her it’s just a job, But to him it feels like love.
Eddies bought two tickets for a show. Dakota said “I’m sorry I can’t go”. “You know I really like you, but let me make this clear,” “We’ve got something special, but it only works in here.”
CHORUS He still dances with Dakota, Even thought it’s not the same. Outside the club he’s no one, But Dakota knows his name. He’s dancing with Dakota, In the back room of the club. To her it’s just a job, But to him it feels like love.

Lyrics:
Half passed Houston, On Interstate 10, Well I lost you back in Jacksonville, Now I’m on my own again. The radio in this ol’ Cherokee, Keeps singin’ heartbreak songs. I’ve been drivin’ west, And cryin’ all day long.
CHORUS Tonight I’ll dream away the lonely When I dream, I’m in the only place where you and me are still in love I’ll dream away the lonely, Dreamin’ you’re still in love with me.
Rock hard pillow, Flashin’ motel sign, 18-wheelers rumble by, They won’t keep me awake tonight. Lovin’ me forever, Was a promise you couldn’t keep. But the promises come true when I’m asleep.
CHORUS So I’ll dream away the lonely When I dream, I’m in the only place where you and me are still in love I’ll dream away the lonely, Dreamin’ you’re still in love with me.
I dream we’re dancin’ close in the kitchen, In our house. I dream we’re watchin’ Casa Blanca, Spoonin’ on the couch. You fall asleep with your head on my shoulder, And you whisper you love me, You love me.
CHORUS So I’ll dream away the lonely When I dream, I’m in the only place where you and me are still in love I’ll dream away the lonely, Dreamin’ you’re still in love with me.
Dreamin’ that you’re still in love, with me.The Joneses (Official Lyric Video) by Tell Her I Love HerLove, Lies And Fiction2017-12-12 | "The Joneses" by Tell Her I Love Her

You say you need a bigger boat, But they all float. I see you bought the latest bag, The smartest phone, with the coolest apps. Keepin’ up with The Joneses, Lay your money down the race is on. It seems so pointless, It makes me wonder..
CHORUS Who the hell are The Joneses? Tell me why should I keep up with them. Who the hell are The Joneses? All that stuff you buy won’t love you when, You’re broke and all alone, With all the worthless crap that you bring home. Who the hell are The Joneses?
I don’t care what car you drive, They all do 55. A closet full of Jimmy Choo, You can call it love, But they’re only shoes. Keepin’ up with The Joneses, Can you spend more than the competition? Just check your Rolex, It’s time to wonder…
CHORUS Who the hell are The Joneses? Tell me why should I keep up with them. Who the hell are The Joneses? All that stuff you buy won’t love you when, You’re broke and all alone, With all the worthless crap that you bring home. Who the hell are The Joneses?
So many people need, To blame their dirty greed on The Joneses. But everything we buy, A little voice inside says I want it. I just want it.
CHORUS Oh my god we’re The Joneses. Are we ever going to have enough? Oh my god I’m The Joneses. Tell me where we’re gonna put this stuff. The garage is overflown. Look in the mirror, Now we know, Who the hell are The Joneses.Always About a Girl (Official Audio Video) - Tell Her I Love HerLove, Lies And Fiction2017-08-04 | "Always About a Girl" by Tell Her I Love Her

That song you’ve been hummin’ The man you’re becomin’ The reason you’re hittin’ the gym That promotion you’re chasin’ And those girls you ain’t chasin’ Cause there’s only one you want to be with
It’s always about a girl When you’re puttin’ your best foot forward Takin’ a big ol’ leap of faith over and over again All while prayin’ that time will move slower So you could have your chance to show her It’s always about a girl Always about a girl
Your heart as it flutters Your voice as it stutters When you pick her up for a date That white wine she’s sippin’ With those red lips you’re wishin’ Will be kissin’ on yours if you can just wait
It’s always about a girl When you’re puttin’ your best foot forward Takin’ a big ol’ leap of faith over and over again All while prayin’ that time will move slower So you could have your chance to show her It’s always about a girl Always about a girl
When forever becomes a thought for once in your life And forever doesn’t sound like enough time
