I never believed I would ever have the chance to say the following in my life…There are several trolls and “influencers” who do not want me casted in a Netflix show geared towards children so they have been trying to share my previous articles completely out of context in a malicious attempt to discredit me online.
What are their goals? I can’t say for sure but it just appears they really don’t want me casted in this show 🤔
Not everyone needs to be my fan. But after much contemplation and reflection, I believe that it would be best to respond directly and openly about the recent troll attacks that I have been enduring. I appreciate their belief in my potential to be casted and I want to politely point out that they do not have the right to share my story in a way that manipulates the original purposes of my previous articles and videos.
This is the most bizarre story I have ever narrated. I address how my life was under siege because of a racist detective and an unstable complainant while explaining how Instagram trolls are making attempts to defame my character for their own personal agendas.

This is a video that was shown to students at The Washington and Lee University School of Law to highlight the issue of false confessions.
Detective Darrin DeCoster is a detective from Fairfax County who has a reputation for his aggressive tactics, arresting people arbitrarily, and for lying both on the witness stand and to magistrates. I was also arrested by Darrin DeCoster in 2013 and even interrogated in the same room as Russell. If you want to see more details about my case, please watch this video : youtube.com/watch?v=f5e3EmuapYU
Russell was arrested after this interrogation and his case did go to trial where DeCoster admitted during cross examination that he forced the confession out of Russell and that he utilized questionable tactics. Russell was acquitted by the jury.
The importance of stories such as Russell's and my experience is that it demonstrates just how reckless the police can be with their investigations. They are not interested in actually procuring evidence as opposed to attempting to trick the suspect into making false confessions. It also shows that even when the police have certainly abused their powers and abuse it consistently, it is almost impossible to hold them accountable for their actions.
It is highly unlikely that Russel and I are the only victims of DeCoster's dangerous behavior.
Detective DeCoster's interrogation is discussed at this link- https://scholarlycommons.law.wlu.edu/fllc_events/FalseConfessions/Jan30/3/
In the link above, you can also download a transcript of his interrogation with Russell and the cross examination of DeCoster at Russell's trial.

I was falsely arrested for charges of rape and abduction with intent to defile back in October of 2013. I was arrested in front of my peers, forced to spend 60,000 dollars in lawyer fees, suspended for one semester of school, and faced the possibility of life in prison for a crime that never happened…
As a survivor of a false accusation, I feel that I have an obligation to speak about my experiences and to name my false accuser. People such as Amy Cooper, Crystal Mangum (Duke Lacrosse Case), Jenny Zhang are all disturbingly similar with parallel patterns of unsettling tendencies.
I am not the first person that Jenny has accused. She helped convict a classmate of ours back in September of 2011. She claimed that David Nguyen sexually assaulted and kidnapped her to some degree. This case ended with Nguyen's conviction.
Jenny Zhang has a serious case of borderline personality disorder which is an explanation for her manic and criminal actions. She really needs professional help and support which only highlights further why it is baffling that no one has really attempted to contain her dangerous patterns of conduct.
Please watch this video to understand why it is important to understand false accusations and penalize those who file false police reports. The ripples of the damages of these kinds of accusations are tremendous and cannot be overlooked. What is worse is when we allow people to maintain their habitual toxic behaviors which only opens the door for more innocent people getting hurt.

I have been in touch with the Fairfax County Police for the past year regarding a false accusation I survived back in 2013. They told me they wanted to investigate the behavior of a particular Detective DeCoster.
It's better to watch and listen to the recordings of my interactions with the police. I do not have the words that can encompass and accurately describe just how far they are willing to gaslight, ignore reality, and trivialize my suffering as well the pain of many innocent victims of police abuse in this country.
If you have a chance and if you are familiar with my story, I need a huge favor. (Especially if you live in Virginia or Fairfax County). Please help me contact the Fairfax County Police and these officers. Please tell them that you are aware of their actions and that based on the footage that you have seen in the videos I have posted, it is concerning that there is a detective such as DeCoster operating with full immunity. One of the clips I share in the latest installment of my saga with the police is a clip of DeCoster interrogating a person of color in 2011 and forcing him to falsely confess to a crime that he did not commit. We have to let the authorities know that our eyes are on them and that they must be held accountable for their actions.
If you have the chance to see my video, then you will probably have a fair amount of questions and concerns to point out to any of these three officers. Here are the relevant officers in my case and their email addresses;
Colonel Edwin C. Roessler Jr., Chief of Police - chief@fairfaxcounty.gov Office Phone: 703-691-2131
Fairfax County Internal Affairs 703-246-2417 703-246-2793
The full name of my false accuser is Jenny Zhang
The impact of contacting these officers may be hard to see. I already believe that it is too late for me to remedy the emotional and financial wounds I've had to bear during my interactions with the police. The significance of contacting the Fairfax County Police is to make it clear that people care about the damages that they are doing to our community and that their aggressive investigations and use of gaslighting is beyond disturbing. Like with many other police departments across the country, the Fairfax County Police have already hurt far too many innocent people and have shown no interest in changing their tactics or investigation methods. The Fairfax County Police, and in particular Detective Darrin DeCoster, have proven that they have no regard for the innocence of defendants and have no desire to conduct meaningful investigations. They have demonstrated time and again that their only agenda is to gain convictions as a means of meeting a professional quota and for their own career benefit.
The clips and recordings of the police in this video speak stronger and louder than anything I can ever put together in writing. Recent events and overwhelming evidence reveals that that the police in the United States need extensive and foundational changes in the way they operate. The only way to have a chance of achieving that is to take a hard stand against police brutality and corruption.
So I am standing my ground and I ask for your help.
Thank you,
Victor Zheng

I definitely endured a lot of this when the Fairfax County Police contacted me in an attempt to justify the incompetence, racism, and pure hostility of one of their detectives who had falsely arrested me in October of 2013.
This is a preview for a video that I am working on. It is an incredibly hard piece to put together as it requires me to revisit the most traumatic period of my life. It takes me back to my six days in jail, the horrible anxiety of possibly being convicted for a crime that never happened, and the uncertainty of my life ever returning to normal.
Given recent events in this country regarding the American police, I feel more obliged than ever to play my part in speaking out against police brutality and misconduct. I survived my episode with a malicious and corrupt detective but I know that so many others were not as fortunate. Far too many innocent people have either been falsely convicted or have died at the hands of hostile and malicious officers whom are part of a broken system that requires overhauling amendments.Whats it like to be in Jail: A story of a false arrest and police abuse of powerc2020-06-05 | "Bend over and pull your ass cheeks apart...and cough!" a prison guard ordered as he strip searched me.
I never talked about my experience being incarcerated in either a public or private domain. Given recent events in this country, I want to share my experience in order to help highlight the dark reality that many innocent people are wrongly arrested and convicted, forcing them to spend time behind bars for a crime they did not commit.
I want to illustrate the dehumanizing journey that the wrongly arrested and convicted have to take when they arrive to prison. I am considered lucky since I was not physically harmed, killed, or wrongly convicted, but I still suffered because of a corrupt police officer who was able to arrest me without any information. He actually had information and evidence proving my innocence but choose to arrest me despite the fact that the evidence showed otherwise..
The grim truth about the United States is that we have an untold number of innocent people and individuals who are given extremely long sentences for non-violent crimes whom are still suffering behind prison bars. We must not be silent as innocent souls continue to suffer and we must never grow complacent with police brutality.

Victor ZhengFire Nation Monologue - Avatar: The Last Airbender Live Action Trailer Concept (Fanmade)c2020-05-20 | This is a fan-made concept trailer for the upcoming live-action "Avatar: The Last Airbender" on Netflix.
I am a Chinese-American actor and I've had this monologue in my head that I always wanted to perform. I sort of imagined myself as some sort of Fire Nation soldier (I don't want to be too specific because I am curious as to how audiences will interpret this character that I have molded). I sort of imagine this opening up the series and acting as a comprehensive introduction from the perspective of the Fire Nation in regards to the geopolitical situation in the Avatar universe.
I was also inspired by stories of my family's encounter with the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War. The Fire Nation and its culture takes inspiration from both Chinese and Japanese cultural elements. The most pronounced of these elements is the profound militarism and jingoist attitudes of the Fire Nation. My family personally felt the ravages of war when Imperial Japan launched an invasion upon China in 1931 and 1937. I also majored in History during my time in university so that allowed me to really imagine this Fire Nation character that I am trying to bring to life. I based this character off of the culture of the Fire Nation as displayed in the Avatar series and Imperial Japan during World War Two. The code of Bushido, the Imperial Japanese military doctrine, and the concept of Honor in East Asia all played a role in how I shaped this character.
The character portrayed in this video also highlights the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation rivalry that seems to mirror the Chinese and Japanese conflict from the Second World War. Being a student of history and having had family witness the Second Sino-Japanese War naturally allowed for me to conceive the kinds of characters that would probably exist in the Fire Nation Military.

In part 2 of my "How to get Cast in Avatar: The Last Airbender" series, I briefly discuss the importance of joining SAG (The Screen Actor's Guild) and about staying in shape. It all seems simple but these are major details with many different layers. I encourage everyone who wants to take acting seriously and be a part of the ATLA live-action to look further into all of this. The creators of the show have also encouraged anyone interested in auditioning to take acting, martial arts, and movement classes in order to be more prepared.
In short, joining SAG is critical if you want take the profession of acting seriously. If you want to have an increased chance of being cast for a role in the upcoming live-action, it seems pretty clear that you will need at least a foundation in fitness and some movements.

What do you guys think? Why I want to learn Chinese - A Chinese-American storyc2018-10-10 | This is a clip of my appearance on the Chinese show, 世界听我说(The World Listens). This was from October of 2017.
I actually got another chance to go on this show talking about a different topic! But I just want to briefly share this clip from last year.
In this video, I got a chance to go on this CCTV game show to talk about my motivations for learning Mandarin Chinese. I describe how I decided to start learning Chinese seriously after I discovered that it was very difficult for me to communicate with my grandparents. There was a particular episode where my grandmother was on her deathbed and I was unable to express what I wanted to express with her. That was the moment when I decided to make learning adequate Chinese a priority of mine.
And the show is a “debate game show”. 60 contestants were invited to accomplish some sort of “task”. Mine was to tell a “moving story”. Ultimately, 32 contestants would move onto the next round which is the competition round. Somehow, I was picked by one of the team captains after sharing my experience about why I wanted to learn Chinese as a Chinese-American.
So here is the clip with English subtitles! Sorry it took so long to share!
Please take a look and feel free to share if you find this interesting!

I have been able to upload this video on at least one platform in China, but it is already being censored. Chinese censorship laws have recently been targeting any sort of discussion on LGBT issues. Many websites have taken down or refused to have my video uploaded, so access to content like this in China is at a minimal.
I hope this short video can become a part of the collection of platforms that allows for the LGBT community to continue to become more vocal, proud, and forthcoming. I only hope to just give this community the voice it deserves to have.
I may not know the best way to show it or say it, but this is my shout out, my "love you" , to the LGBT family
*Video has English subtitlesWhat do people think of Asian Guys? 亚洲男生真的不会泡妞吗c2018-01-26 | Stereotypes are unfortunately, a part of our lives and that is why I spent the time trying to explore certain perceptions to see how much substance they have.
Asian girls are stereotypical known to be incredibly desirable across the world, but what about Asian guys?
I interviewed a number of subjects to gain insight on the issue. Are Asian guys really bottom on the list in terms of the dating market?
你们觉得呢? 此外,我在视频中有一段小插曲,哈哈大笑,你们注意到了吗?????Are Chinese girls so called Easy Girls? - 中国女生对外国男生来说真的是easy girl吗c2018-01-19 | In China, and perhaps in several places through Asia, local girls tend to have the unfortunate perception that they are "Easy girls" for foreigners.
There are always news articles in China that highlight the trend of dating "foreigners" in both positive and negative lights. There was a particular incident where sex in public occurred between a local girl and a foreigner which caused strong reactions from Chinese internet users.
I wanted to explore this stereotype and asked my participants questions about this phenomenon. I wanted to see what different people of different backgrounds think of this particular issue.
最后,我也必须感谢视频中的每个参与者愿意跟我坦率诚恳的分享他们的想法, 你们都很棒 [心]我们的爱情第一集 (Our Love)c2017-09-11 | Collecting different people's opinions on love.
This is part one! Let me know what you guys thinkOur Love: A piece on Dating, Love, and morec2017-08-22 | A piece that I am working on recently in China. I gathered a group of participants from all kinds of backgrounds to talk about our perspectives towards love, dating, and more.
-郑凯成VicSupplement to my My Prejudicec2017-08-18 | For my mini-documentary, "My Prejudice“, I interviewed over 20 participants that had so much to share on the issue of Huayi and Chinese social tensions.
Here is an extension of the original piece. Please enjoy
谢谢大家一如既往的支持. You're the best!
On July 4th, 2017, former policy executive of the Nationalist Party in Taiwan, Tsai Cheng Yuan, made a post on his facebook and Weibo accounts claiming that the United States did not fight its own war of independence. He also quotes numbers such as how a 100,000 French soldiers supposedly fought for us and 30,000 of them died during the conflict (He refuses to cite these numbers). He goes on claiming how the genesis of the Revolution is illegitimate since he proclaims that we had another country do all the fighting for us.
So this video is a response pointing out that his statistics are false and as a response to Tsai Cheng Yuan’s attempt to mislead people about a critical historical event in American history.Trailer for Our Prejudicec2017-06-11 | I have been living in China for nearly a year now. During that year, I've been involved in some weird projects and ventures that I'd never thought I would get involved in such as producing and starring in music videos, appearing in internet videos with over 10 million views, cultivating a humble fan base, being mentioned in articles, constantly being scolded and praised by Chinese internet users, it has been just one odd adventure after another. Recently, I have been working on a mini-documentary on an obscure but also incredibly complicated topic which is the interaction between Chinese and Huayi (Overseas Chinese with foreign citizenship). As a Chinese American, or Huayi, I've experienced paradoxical internal racism in China. I've been denied contracts, been called terrible names, and been told to "go back to America” because of my background.
On the other hand, I know that many Huayi do have mixed feelings towards China and Chinese. This piece does explore that dimension as well as the particular interactions and struggles that Huayi face when going back to China for visits, study abroad, or just in terms of trying to explore our roots. At the same time, I do try to be fairly and politely critical of my fellow Huayi in our own prejudices and misunderstandings towards our roots.
That is why I want to produce this documentary, to provide insight not just on the special dynamic that exists between Chinese and Huayi, but also to facilitate a discussion on bias and prejudice. I hope this piece can help us all reflect a little bit on biases as a whole, and see what we can do to handle those kinds of feelings and impulses.
The English name of my documentary is: "Our Prejudice"
Looking forward to everyone's reactions and comments!
感谢大家的温馨支持,每一天你们都令我十分感动。Our Prejudice- A Documentary on Chinese and their Overseas Counterpartsc2017-06-11 | I have been involved in the world of Chinese “self-media” (自媒体) since November of 2016 and I’ve realized that as a Chinese-American, or a Huayi华裔 (a foreign citizen of Chinese origin), there are certain social tensions that exist between local Chinese and their overseas counterparts.
This video explores those tensions, why they might exist, and what we can do to ease misunderstandings not just in the context of Huayi and Chinese, but with all kinds of prejudices that exist between different groups of people.
I interviewed a total of 21 participants and invested two months of time, including countless hours reflecting on how to present this, editing and analyzing footage, to put this mini-documentary together. It is my hope that in this twenty minute video, that I can make the dynamic of Huayi and Chinese accessible and comprehensible to everyone while at the same time, encourage reflection in our own everyday behaviors.
I look forward to everyone’s feedback and hope that this helps explain one of the world’s most interesting yet tumultuous racial dynamic.
PS: My biggest regret during the process of making this film is the fact that due to time restrictions and how the documentary developed, I was unable to ultimately allow for my all my participants to have their voices heard in this video, but that does not take away from the value of their stories or ideas. Everyone’s voice is equally important and I may be able to use their material in future or supplemental pieces.
PS- 很遗憾的是,因为时间有限,我没办法让所有参与者都出现在纪录片里,但是所有人的声音都是一样重要My reflections on the United Express Flight 3411 (Passenger being dragged off flight)c2017-04-15 | A video I made recently regarding my personal reflection and thoughts of the recent United Airlines incident. I explain my worries for both Chinese and Americans who are following the issue. At the moment, I only have a social media presence on Weibo (a Chinese social media platform similar to Twitter and its functions) but maybe I could consider moving over to American platforms sometime soon? Truth is, the worst part about doing videos is editing, and subtitles are a pain in the butt....So doing videos for both American and Chinese audiences would mean I would have to constantly do subtitles in two languages...... Well, that's what I gotta do in order to facilitate cross cultural interactions. Let me know what you think!
