Amazing 2 x 3 Dirty Pour - Acrylic Pouring Recipe and Process Video (Acrylic Pouring Flip Cup) Jenny Post 2017-09-08 | I show the full two day process of how I created this beautiful 2' x 3' acrylic pour painting (7 big flip cups)! The only difference is that I gently layered colors in between the areas where I poured from up high. You can see how I layer colors in my first 16 minute process video._____________Recipe: 3 parts paint, 1 part pouring medium (1/2 GAC 800, 1/2 liquitex pouring medium), a splash of water, and thinning solution to the correct consistency. Fluid artists are routinely insulted and told that their paintings are not art at all, and that they are certainly not artists. Juxtaposed against the art that is embraced by some in the fine art world, such as Maurizio Cattelan's Duct Tape Banana, which sold at Art Basel in Miami for $120,000, it becomes even harder to understand the harsh judgement many fluid art artists encounter. Cattelan titled his duct tape banana "Comedian". Cattelan's banana was being shown at Art Basel by international gallery Perrotin when it was sold for $120,000. The banana was later eaten by a hungry performance artist. When asked if the duct tape banana was a joke, gallery owner, Emmanuel Perrotin stated, "Every aspect of the work was carefully considered, from the shape of the fruit, to the angle its been affixed with duct tape to the wall, to its placement in the booth—front and center, on a large wall that could have easily fit a much larger painting.” He added, “Maurizio’s work is not just about objects, but about how objects move through the world. Whether affixed to the wall of an art fair booth or displayed on the cover of the New York Post, Maurizio forces us to question how value is placed on material goods. The spectacle, which has been orchestrated so beautifully, is as much a part of the work as the banana.” Perrotin later explained that securing a buyer for the piece completed the artwork. “A work like that,” he said, “if you don’t sell the work, it’s not a work of art.”

Resin, Ink, and Glitter Petri Dish Experiments! Amazing effects!! Jenny Post 2018-11-29 | My first resin and alcohol ink petri dish experiments (with glitter of course)!! Warning: this process is completely addictive!! This is just a short time lapse video of the process, and then the unmolding of all three resin petri dishes! Materials I used:Art Resin, mixed according to their instructionsCulinary torchRanger and Pinata alcohol inksSilicone baking moldGold Bling It (by Rezin Arte)rubber gloves, stir sticks, and little cupsI started by mixing the Art Resin according to their exact instructions. I warmed the resin bottles in warm water for about ten minutes before I mixed it. I poured the resin into three silicone molds to about 3/4 of an inch or so. I let the resin sit for five minutes, and then I used a culinary torch to very quickly pop the air bubbles. You have to be careful to not burn the mold. After that, I used a toothpick to remove any air bubbles from the edges of the molds. Once all the air bubbles were gone, I added a bit of bling it mixed with clear resin to the molds. I wanted to have some glitter in there! I added drops of colored alcohol ink followed by drops of white alcohol ink to each dish. I was not sure how much or how little to add since this was my first time. I waited the full 24 hours before I unmolded the petri dishes. Colors used:Petri dish 1: Citris, Rasin, Baja Blue, Butterscotch, Twilight PurplePetri dish 2: Sunshine yellow, Mermaid, Juniper, Terra Cota, Teakwood, Passion PurplePetri dish 3: Lettuce, Stream, Salmon, Wild plum, Sunshine yellow Thank you for watching!! Avoiding Muddy Colors in a Christmas Pour - Acrylic Pouring Red and Green Flip Cup! Jenny Post 2018-11-23 | Red and Green are a combo I almost always try to avoid, but I give them a fair shot in this acrylic pour painting, especially flip cups. It was a great exercise in trying to avoid muddy colors! I talk through the process in this one :-)Since I was locked into some type of red and green, I already broke rule one in avoiding muddy colors, which is: don't combine complementary colors. Acrylic Pouring - Paper towel swipe Inspired by Boulder Opals! Jenny Post 2018-06-03 | I am so inspired by the colors of boulder opals. I tried to mix colors that reminded me of the stone and then I did a paper towel swipe. I am not good at swiping, but I figured I would share this fun Sunday experiment :-) Happy pouring! The pouring medium I use is half Liquitex Pouring Medium and half GAC 800. After adding the medium, I thin it with a solution made of 1/3 pouring medium and 2/3 water. Check my process videos for more info on paint consistency. After all colors are mixed, I add 1 drop of treadmill silicone oil to each ounce of mixed paint.

Acrylic Pouring - All Glitter Tree Ring Pour! Jenny Post 2018-05-26 | I was feeling a bit blue and decided some glitter therapy was in order for the day! This was my first try with this technique. I just mixed glitter with Liquitex pouring medium. The more I tilted, the more the striations went away, but it has maintained a lovely graduated effect. It went slightly better than my first experiments. Colors used: Georgia clay, peacock teal, primary yellow, light buttermilk, prussian blue, turquoise, festive green (metallic), and peacock pearl (metallic). Acrylic Pour Experiment - Testing Decoart Pouring Medium - Three dirty pour flip cups! Jenny Post 2018-05-12 | DecoArts sent me a bottle of their pouring medium to try with a few bottles of their paint. This video shows my first experiments with the products. I had a some issues getting the medium body paint to the same consistency as the craft paint using the two different recipes they provided. In the end I did two main experiments - one pour using their EXACT recipe and one pour using their medium, but with more than their recipe calls for in order to get it flow-y enough. I also do a third pour and create THE SPACE ROAD painting. lol. It was just a fun afternoon playing with paint. Acrylic Pouring - 4-cup Dirty Pour with Bright Colors! Jenny Post 2017-07-31 | This was a great pour! I used so many colors! The music playing in the background is Todd Terje (Inspector Norse). I think it is perfect for getting lost in the colors and flow of the paint!I got small cells on this one, which would have been a real bummer if the colors had not worked out so well. I used my basic recipe (link below) and process. It usually produces cells a bit bigger. I think that the paint may have been a hair too thick, or I could have added too little silicone oil.UPDATE: Be sure to watch my newest videos.
