Bad Apple!!, but I extended it to 16:9 with AI names G 2024-02-03 | I stumbled upon an interesting paper and GitHub repository about video outpainting, which utilizes a custom model alongside Stable Diffusion 1.5. Although it's still in its infancy, I thought it was neat. So, I decided to apply it to the iconic "Bad Apple!!" video, which is originally in 4:3 format, to make it 16:9.Original video and source for my manipulations: youtube.com/watch?v=i41KoE0iMYUTo bring this vision to life, I used several tools including @alimama-creative's M3DDM-Video-Outpainting, Topaz Video AI (with the Proteus model), and Adobe After Effects. Here's a peek into my process:1. I grabbed the original "Bad Apple!!" video to work with.2. Next, I resized the video to its actual resolution to maintain quality, since it is "upscaled" on Alstroemeria Records' channel.3. I prepared the M3DDM for the outpainting process.4. processed the original video through M3DDM, which gave me a lower quality 256x extended version.5. Then, I upscaled this lower quality output back to the original video's resolution for clarity.6. To smooth out any temporal weirdness, I used After Effects to mask stuff out, apply effects to correct the color, and then layer the original video over the AI-generated outpainting.7. I rendered this composite to achieve the final product.8.
