The Coast Guards PSU 307 U.S. Coast Guard 2024-04-09 | Port Security Unit (PSU) 307 is a reserve unit based out of Clearwater, Flordia.Each PSU consists of Reservists assigned to either a waterside or shoreside security or support division. Each PSU operates a number of security boats and fire teams. PSUs offer a range of positions, including boat crews, landside security personnel, a command-and-control element, and support personnel. Their members are trained to provide anti-terrorist force protection and coastal defense for missions inside and outside the United States. The cruise line reported that six additional crew members from the vessel Two Brothers were still missing.The Jayhawk aircrew arrived on the scene and began conducting search patterns near the sunken vessel’s onboard emergency position indicating radio beacon last reported location and located all six mariners hanging on to the debris of their sunken vessel.The aircrew hoisted all six of the survivors onto the helicopter and transferred them to emergency medical services in Puerto Plata.“The weather conditions were less than ideal,” said Lt. USCG Short: Air Station Sitka Mountain Rescue U.S. Coast Guard 2023-09-07 | A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Sitka aircrew rescued two hikers off of Mount Verstovia in Sitka, Alaska, May 16, 2023.The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew safely hoisted and transported the siblings, ages 14 and 15 to the air station where they were met by awaiting family members.At 4:30 p.m., U.S. Coast Guard Sector Juneau command center personnel received a call from Sitka Mountain Rescue requesting assistance in locating two lost hikers.“The Sitka Police Department received the initial call via cell phone from one of the hikers, reporting that she and her brother were lost,” said Coast Guard Lt. Jonathan Orthman, pilot, Air Station Sitka. “We arrived on scene about 15 minutes after takeoff and visually spotted the hikers.
