MATING SNAKES crawl on ME! Forgotten Friend Reptile TV 2022-06-01 | ***Jesse films a pair of romantic reptiles he finds on a busy trail, then suddenly they crawl on top of him.....SORT OF***UPDATE: The pair we originally filmed were clearly mating, although that footage was not shown in this video. Then we checked on another nearby snake spot, and returned about ten minutes later and filmed the pair of snakes you see in this video...which were still tangled up...as you see them in this video.Upon closer review, we now believe the pair of snakes in this video are NOT in fact mating. We believe they are combatting males. We believe we originally observed a mating male/female pair, THEN while we were filming the other nearby snake spot, a rival male arrived at the scene and a combat ensued between the two males. Once we returned to the scene, after only a short time had passed, we wrongly assumed we were still filming the original mating pair we had observed about ten minutes earlier. But the footage in this video shows markings that do not appear on the original pair we filmed mating 10 minutes earlier, so we know it's a different pair. And the footage in this video shows behavior more consistent with combatting males than with a mating pair. The chances of a mating pair being interrupted by male combat in the few minutes we were gone seems EXTREMELY unlikely, but it's the most plausible explanation. We will issue a revised version of this video, including footage of the mating pair not shown in this video, when we get the chance.

Baby Snakes Hatching LIVE! Forgotten Friend Reptile TV 2021-07-21 | Meet our newest baby corn snakes! We have around 40 corn snake eggs expected to hatch this month! Some of them began hatching Tuesday, July 20, and we expect them to continue hatching over the next 1-2 weeks. It is not our goal to breed reptiles. But in some cases, our female reptiles lay fertile eggs, so we wanted to share this joy with the world. Please leave your questions in the comment section! Look for tiny heads poking out of the eggs. This stage is called "pipping" and snakes may remain in the pipping stage for several hours or longer. This is the stage where snakes are beginning to take in the brave new world outside of the egg, but still holding on to the security of the egg itself. You may see baby snakes flicking their tongues throughout the pipping stage, before they even leave the eggs.

Come join us on this reptile rescue mission!If you use garden netting, please choose a product that doesn't entrap wildlife. Avoid netting with big enough holes for critters to get trapped in. If possible, it's best to avoid the plastic netting which is very sharp when animals pull against it. There are non-plastic alternatives that stretch more easily and biodegrade.
