This series is dear to me because I love to explore the strange and weird. And were does that all start for many of us but in childhood! Some of the books I talk about are more "in your face" strange, and others not so much. I hope you enjoy this look at children's literature with new and different eyes...

Hey guys - been a bit since we had a Little Library episode huh? I hope you enjoy. For those of you who are newer to my channel - this series is where we talk, overthink, dissect, and generally mull over the crazy things in kids' books! I am always open to recs, and I hope this makes you at least smile today. While not for kids, I think it is interesting to see the weird things that are presented to children and try and make some sense of them in a way. PS- watching this back I must have been in a sassy mood haha....

Prompts - 1. Name a writer who makes you grateful to be alive, simply because you get to read their work. 2. Name a novel that fundamentally altered how you view or appreciate life. 3. Hi guys :) Wanted to say something really quick (ya'll like how I use my videos as updates now? HAHA)
for my subs - I know every content creator says this about their people, but holy shit do I have the best subs on the planet. Here I am hacking up a lung and being a general lump and you guys are almost 700 strong. I see my views and it almost makes me cry every time. The fact you wonderful weirdos have stuck around and even decided to hang out after my world went to hell in a handbasket is something that I can't thank you enough for. I know it's a social media platform, but I swear this corner of Booktube is touched by some special god or something. You guys will forever be my weirdos and you ROCK.
for my fellow Booktubers - You are my people. What can I say. People talk about "finding their tribe" and wow, did I ever. You turned my beloved Booktube green in support and it is something that profoundly impacted me in a way that English isn't equipped to handle. I wanted to remind you all of something. I know that it can be hard to find time to edit and comment and all that jazz. But I want you to know that every video you make matters. When I was alone in a hospital room at 3am, I watched you. I laughed with you (when I was able to laugh haha). Most importantly, I was distracted (even for a second) from the hell because of you. I know we make videos about books and on the surface that doesn't really seem like much sometimes. It is. Trust me. So thanks for your videos. All of them. And remember - you ROCK.

So this is very obviously pre-filmed. However, I wanted to share something with those of you who actually read this haha. I went home to WV the first weekend in December. I was in the hospital with a cancer diagnosis less than 30 days later. You never know what the future holds. So do that thing or things that you have always wanted to do. I don't mean to sound like a school poster (remember those? The ones with things like "FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS" and crap? HAHA). Hug those that you love. TELL the people you love that you love them. Because life can change in a breath. Get excited. Laugh. Cry. LOVE YOURSELF. Please - hear me. Love your life. Cherish it. Cherish every single part of it. And cling hard to those people and things that make you feel loved. They are your lights.
I love you guys. You are my people.
