1995 Nissan Safari Fire Patrol Y60 TB42 George Dutch 2022-11-18 | We imported a 1995 Nissan Safari Fire Patrol from Japan. It's the Y60 with the 4.2L inline 6 carbureted gasoline engine. 5 speed 4x4 with a PTO water pump complete with lights, sirens and a working PA system. Mount Temple - 11,627ft - Avalanche!!!! George Dutch 2019-08-26 | Four of us set out to tackle the 11,627ft summit of Mount Temple in Alberta, Canada. The scenery was beyond incredible while we exhausted our lungs and pushed for the top of the world. We witnessed a couple of avalanches on the neighbouring mountains and it was shocking how loud they were. It was freezing at the top but worth every gruelling step. I highly recommend this trek but plan to start early as the Moraine Lake parking lot fills up by 7:30am. 4 Days in the Back Country - Juan de Fuca Marine Trail - BEAR! George Dutch 2019-08-17 | Four of us hiked through the back country on The Juan de Fuca Marine Trail in British Columbia, Canada. We started at Botanical Beach, and hiked 47 km down to China Beach over three nights and four days. We highly recommend stretching this out over five or six days instead of only four. The terrain was much more challenging than we anticipated and we had to skip some primo campsites in order to make it back in time. Slow down and absorb the coastal surroundings. It is magical. DJI Mavic Pro in Alberta - Updated Settings George Dutch 2017-01-25 | Met up with some Mavic pilots and obtained some drone footage to test my colour gradings techniques. To get smoother video on the Mavic here's are some decent settings: EXP Rudder settings are all the way down at 0.10Under sensitivity my Attitude is 58, Brake 80 and Yaw Movement Limit is all the way down at 50. When I shoot I'm in UHD Art mode with Style settings of -1,-1,-1.Colour correcting in Final Cut Pro X with Color Finale. I'm still experiencing bad image quality in the top left of all of my shots from my faulty Mavic so eventually I'll have to send the bird back. The only other issue is the image stutter from having too high of a shutter speed which is corrected by ND filters. I'm just waiting on mine from China.
Best DJI Mavic Video Settings - Blurred Edge Issue George Dutch 2017-01-21 | These are what I'm finding to be excellent settings for film making with the DJI Mavic Pro. I colour grade in Final Cut Pro X with the Color Finale plugin. I'm using -1 -1 -1 for style and the ART mode. I believe the blurred left edge is a defect and will most likely be getting the drone replaced. Other than that, this drone is amazing.
DJI Mavic Pro Sample - Ultra HD - Elbow Falls, Alberta George Dutch 2017-01-18 | Took the DJI Mavic Pro out to Elbow Falls, Alberta to test it out and get some practice in. My settings are ultra HD and the colour is set to Art mode and -1, -1, -1. Colour grading was done in Final Cut Pro X. I also slowed the gimbel tilt settings quite a bit and it makes a huge improvement. I didn't get my ND filters yet so I was shooting in automatic exposure and unable to get the cinematic shutter speeds which would have improved the video quite a bit. I'm also very impressed with the still images. I shot in RAW and colour graded in LR.
