Visit EarthSwitzerland is notorious for being one of the most expensive countries to travel to in the world so I wanted to see if I could budget only $60 for one of my days in Kandersteg, Switzerland. Budget travel is tough in Switzerland but it can be done if you are ready to hike a lot instead of taking gondolas, eat at markets and stay in 20 person hostel rooms! I still had a great time on the Rodelbahn Oeschinensee (Alpine Coaster) and visiting the Lake Oeschine.

Ladybower is one of several reservoirs located in England’s Peak District. Ladybower has two 80 foot wide plug holes that control the water level. If the water level reaches the top of the concrete plug hole, the water pours. This usually occurs after extended periods of rain. It is an incredible sight that looks out of this world. The water flows a couple hundred feet where it is shot out into a stream below.
The Tunnel of Love is a tree tunnel located in the town of Klevan, Ukraine about 6 hours by bus from the capital of Kyiv. The tunnel was formed by the passing of a train that shaped the branches. It is about 5 kilometers long.
The Atlantic Ocean Road spans about 8 kilometers and connects an island to the mainland of Norway.
2. Kandersteg Mountain Coaster, Switzerland
This has to be one of the coolest luges in the world. Beyond the thrill of speeding down a mountain, you are also treated to some of the most stunning views of the Swiss Alps as you go down. It costs about $5 per run. Beyond the luge, there is a nearby lake to enjoy.

Although it was full of hurdles and a long journey, it was one I will never forget. The Tunnel of Love is located in a tiny town called Klevan and was formed by a passing train shaping the leaves into a tunnel. With fall colors, it was even more magical.
