The Original Midsommar Archer Green 2020-09-25 | Ari Aster's Midsommar has been routinely compared to the 1973 film The Wicker Man, and at first glance it is clear why. Both are seemingly horror films with essentially the same premise, an outsider arrives at a foreign cult like community and it eventually devolves into bloody murder and so forth. As a big fan of Midsommar I thought I should check out The Wicker Man. The Identity of The Last Black Man in San Francisco Archer Green 2020-06-19 | The Last Black Man in San Francisco, released in 2019, is the passion project of childhood friends Joe Talbot and Jimmie Fails, who grew up together in San Francisco. This film is about a fictionalised version of Jimmie Fails reclaiming his childhood home that his grandfather built in the 1940s. This is done amidst a changing San Francisco, where gentrification has pushed those less fortunate to the fringes of society. This video is an exploration of what I believe to be the films main theme - identity.
