Gel Printing multi-layer prints for a future collage Sherry B 2020-05-02 | In this sped-up video I make four separate gel prints. I'm using a manufactured gel plate ~ there are several brands available ~ but you can also make a gel plate yourself! I've used several types of paint on these, from craft paints to medium body artist grade paints, and a few different types of paper. My studio is in what used to be our study. It used to be in a guestroom and before that it was in the dining room. Beginners Acrylic Pouring Mix ~ an affordable way to try acrylic pouring Sherry B 2020-02-15 | There are at least 8gazillion pouring videos here on YouTube and all sorts of recipes about how to mix the paint. Very few of us can afford to try every recipe so I wanted to share with you an inexpensive recipe that will allow you to get your feet wet to see if you like it. This recipe has never failed me whether I want a lot of cells, or very few. * 4 parts good craft paint ~ .....I prefer Delta Ceramcoat ~ amzn.to/2uEkZ4H .....or DecoArts Dazzling Metallics ~ amzn.to/2UPJlDz* 4 parts Flood Floetrol ~ amzn.to/39sOWnm * 1 part water Then add one drop silicone per 2 ounces m.o.l. for cells ~ amzn.to/39sOWnm I mix these up in huge batches becuz Ball jars seal up almost air tight ~ in the past I've been able to keep paint in them for well over a year. This recipe is almost always the right consistency but sometimes you need to add a bit more water when you go to pour. I also don't put silicone in the mix because it breaks the mix down over time. This recipe is almost always the right consistency so I don't include water. I also don't put silicone in the mix because it breaks the mix down over time. How to make napkin decals to use in collage, card-making & other paper crafts Sherry B 2018-09-23 | Have you ever tried to use paper napkins in collage only to have them almost disappear? Here is an easy trick to make them somewhat less transparent and much stronger so that you can cut, paint, & adhere them easily ~ making decals! You can use these decals in collage or mixed-media art, scrapbooking, cardmaking, or in any other paper craft. It works with paper napkins, tissue paper and delicate handmade papers. All you need are napkins, medium & a surface the medium won't stick to. You can use gel medium, decoupage medium or regular white glue and a silicone baking sheet or freezer paper. Have fun! You probably have some of these supplies already as they can be used for so many other mediums & techniques.
