Take 2 with a new paint pouring techniqueMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-08-05 | I LOVE THIS POUR!!! I can't say it enough. The twisted tilted ring is my new bff. LOL It worked so much better with my swirl paint mix. I also sort of had a swirl on top of a swirl because I used 2 cups and when you stop and start it changes the way the paint flows. You are basically pouring on top of a pour as opposed to stretching out a continuous pour. I will link my video, perfecting the swirl because it shows how I mix and check my paint. It can be any paint, I'm just partial to Nova Color and creative inspirations for swirls. I have had successful swirls with other brands though so if you don't have either one, don't let that stop you!Twisted Tilted Ring PourMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-07-28 | I can't wait to try this acrylic pouring technique again. I think with some thicker paint I could get a really pretty braid pattern. What do you think? Twisted Tilted Ring Pour.. thumbs up or thumbs down? What colors would you use? Negative space on the corners or keep tilting??? I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

I like feeling like I have a little control, even though I don't really. These are some of my favorite colors and I love the way this one turned out. What is your favorite pouring technique? All of my colors are mixed with basics matte fluid medium and a little water. My white is mixed with floetrol, liquitex pouring medium, and water. I use Spot on silicone.

Paint pour ocean sceneMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-07-19 | You won't believe how easy this was and it has such a dramatic effect. I love it so much. the blues were just swiped to create some movement in the water. The coral reef was blown a bit like a dutch pour to create some organic shapes and the cells helped form that spongey holey look.

The red and yellow ring smash was perfect for the sun. I am not completely happy with the galaxy, but I can fix that with a second layer. I don't know what I am going to do yet. If you have any ideal I would love to hear them!!!!
Find me here facebook.com/etherealorbAcrylic Pour Swirl with a String PullMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-07-03 | I usually love swirls, but this one is not my favorite. That red really took over. I also don't really like silicone in my swirls because I love those lines uninterrupted by cells. What do you think? Should I have stopped before the string pull? How do you save a pour you aren't crazy about?A New Twist on the Swipe TechniqueMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-07-01 | Super quick and fun swipe using a baby hairbrush. This was a fun swipe. I love the look of the lines with the hairbrush. It gives a different feel. It doesn't create cells like a traditional swipe because it drags areas of paint rather than layers of paint over each other. It is a distinct and different look. Not really a pouring technique, but a new twist on an old technique.Open Cup Paint PourMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-06-22 | Paint pour using the open cup technique. All paints were thinned with floetrol and liquitex pouring medium with a touch of paint to get just the right consistency. The red and white had 2 drops of silicone added. Open cup pours are a lot of fun to watch. I used a kids yogurt container to make teh open cup. The paint will start to ooze out from the bottom of the cup creating beautiful big juicy cells in the background color.

Flip cups can be the most satisfying and the most disappointing because you never know what you are going to get. This one came out so very lovely. Purple can go very mauve when paired with white and since that green is so pale, it could have really looked like something Blanche Devereaux would have in her bedroom LOL

I am going to lay out for you why your acrylic pour painting may be changing and what you can do to fix it.Experimenting with Fluid AcrylicsMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-04-29 | Experimenting can be fun and frustrating. I really enjoyed this one, but didn't get the final result that I was looking for. That is okay. It is how we grow as artists. Metalics and pearl paints can react differently so that may be why these sunk more. I also know I had more white paint as a base. So many variables. These colors made me very happy though. What do you think?

I could call it a doom. Haha!

This also eliminates a swipe line. I used leftover paints for this so all but the white had silicone in them and were mixed with floetrol and water. It is a fun way to play with the colors and have an interesting composition.

Pouring starts at 2:21Meghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-02-22 | I used Sergeant Art Gloss medium and varnish as a medium along with floetrol for some of the colors. I didn't care for sergeant art as a varnish. It just didn't give it an overall smooth glossy finish that I am used to even after 5 coats. I'm not sure I will love it as a medium either, but I will do a few more pours before I decide. I do love the way this pour turned out, but it didn't ' sell me on the gloss medium. Let me know in the comments. I wanted to see if there would be a difference between a sheet of plastic and a damp paper towel in a swipe. There is a slight difference between the two and I like the result from the sheet of plastic best. It was also a lot easier to work with. Also, it really showed that you need more paint on the canvas when using a paper towel.Flip Cup Paint Pour VideoMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2020-02-02 | Just a good old flip cup with some really pretty colors. It's strange how difficult is can be to get back on a normal schedule. I decided to cheer myself up with purple. Who doesn't love purple? I think my mix was a bit thin though. In acrylic pouring consistency is everything and I am a bit rusty. I'll get my mojo back though. I just need some more painting time.Open Cup Magic Floating Paint PourMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2019-12-16 | Have I said I love floating cups? Yes, I'm sure I have. Intentional Paint PourMeghan Dawson Ethereal Orb Art2019-11-15 | Revisiting one of my favorites. This was inspired by the leaves on the cloaks that Galadriel gave the Fellowship. At the end you can see I added 3 gold lines to the top right corner to represent the three hairs she gave Gimli. I hope you like this one. I basically did 2 dirty pours and then tilted and drizzled the silver on. I didn't have any silicone in the paint because I didn't want cells. THanks for watching Music: Curiosity by Tim Dawson
