[Scrapped PMV] Goodbye to a World daspacepony 2021-06-30 | ⬇️⭐️ Read the description for all the details if you're curious and confused! 👀So back in late 2017 - early 2018 I had an idea of making a PMV to Porter Robinson's Goodbye to a World. I adapted a story for the PMV based on a fanfic I wrote in earlier called "Playtest" which you can still find here: fimfiction.net/story/366854/playtest; which itself is inspired by a Black Mirror episode of the same name in which I became a huge fan.It became such a massive story to adapt that it took me an entire year to develop and by late 2018, I found @rainbowdashzx also had plans to make a Goodbye to a World PMV. I suggested a collab such that we could both make something with the song. I then started drafting a video screenplay of sorts to organise what we plan to do - which is what you are seeing in this video!However in the end, we could not manage our workload well enough for this project and it fell through with me only making 2 scenes in the intro which I did not want them to go to waste since I worked really hard on them nonetheless. The two images of Twilight in the climax were actually some concept art I did back in the early stages of development in early 2018.Plus, around the time of development of this PMV, @ScarletFlight has actually crafted his own series of PMVs known as Meridian with a similar storyline and has pretty much done a better job than what I could have done! I was invited to join a collab by Para Collaboration, another remarkable PMV collab group.For this PMV part, I wanted to experiment more with 3D and shadows, especially shadows since I work mostly with 2D motion graphics. Shadows in AE feels a little finicky, especially adding in other effects and transitions on top of it. I separated the layer and its shadow as separate layers so I could provide better control between both of them, basically identical layers but one of them displaying only its shadow while the other only displaying itself.I once again dove into trigonometry for the swirly streaks where you see the rest of the Mane 6 fly in. I absolutely LOVE how math I learned back in school helped me in animating, and I got to really push myself to the limits with the flying streaks I did for A New Pair of Wings.Thanks for sticking around, I will have a MASSIVE video coming up later this week! Shelter has probably been my favourite song for the longest time even up until today. When I saw that he will be releasing a new album 'Nurture' this year after 6 years, I got super excited! Jack DC 93 and I have been discussing a lot about his songs and of course we both made PMVs of his new album. Like many of Porter's songs, Something Comforting really spoke to me as someone that has many MANY experiences with anxiety and have friends who have it too.Bringing this to Luster Dawn - whom many of us assume will be Twilight's successor, just like Twilight was to Celestia, I had a thought: "What if Luster... couldn't?". We saw at the end of The Last Problem that Luster has been sent off to make new friends, but how do we know if Luster just couldn't make friends or will not be as good as Twilight was? All these ideas eventually became this PMV. I really hope it's good heh.I shared this idea I had with my friend Peacock Studios who wanted to make her own audio drama around Luster too, and so decided to take my PMV as inspiration. I have also been watching a few audio dramas now that the show has ended. I made some progress until near-end of 2016, made pretty much 50% of the way through, then I suddenly lost motivation to complete it and kinda abandoned it. :(I still have no plans to finish it, but I would love to show you guys what I have made so far instead of just letting it rot on my computer's hard disk. I wanted to create a "scrapbook" feel to it, basically a collection of memories of the Mane 6 and CMCs in scrapbook form and are free to add in whatever they like into it.I'd like to thank you for choosing to view this video even though it's an incomplete work. Even with the absolute fabulousness of her competitor beaming down on her, she didn't go back Home and continued on.She remembers all the events she had with her friends and seeing her friend Rarity falling from the sky, she pushed herself and performed her fabled sonic rainboom.Didn't have any idea for the last few seconds so I just went for the lazy flying vectors and shapes that most peeps do. The MLP Movie Teaser but FIXED daspacepony 2017-04-07 | ⬇︎ Open description for details! ⬇︎So when the teaser came out about 15 hours ago, people immediately pointed out that something looks off, especially RD's face and body. The Art Director of the show then pointed out it was the improper conversion of 16-bit to 8-bit images that crushed all the shadows. Source: equestriadaily.com/2017/04/art-director-for-mlp-movie-explains.html"Shadows" in this context does not refer to the usual definition of an area where light is blocked, but instead areas of an image where it is the darkest. You usually see it together with Highlights and Mid-tones if you have tried image processing in Photoshop too!So what I did was crank up the shadows so that those dark areas don't look so dark and make it more subtle compared to the brighter areas. And it took me only 20 minutes max.Honestly this trailer looks amazing and I'm so freaking hyped. Save me!

However, this part felt similar to the part I did in Witchcraft. But then I remembered I didn't manage to add in an effect I wanted because back then I didn't know how to. BUT NOW I DO! It's the "bullet time" effect :P.So I kinda took inspiration from the part I did in Witchcraft and remade it with more badass-ery. Glitch effects in the background and yes bullet time. How will the Mane 6 defeat the changelings? With epic fights duh. Pinkie using Twilight as a laser gun never gets old.The first half is a build up to the second half. I imagined having everything but the Mane 6 be glitched out to show which side is the corrupted side. This thing required 8 freaking layers of color keys omg and it's still not perfect. oh well.Kinda funny that the changelings have since been reformed and yet we're still making parts about the evil changelings :D

I tried to use my vectoring skills to use to come up with better story-telling ideas.
