Parting of the Sensory - Warrior Cats Ripplestar AU Animatic (collab with @Vampviz ) Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2024-11-09 | WARNING: Mild flashing and blood/animal death!Ashfur, and later Shadowsight, are sought out by a malevolent spirit. To their reflections he smiles, and promises to solve all their problems... but evil is lurking in the water.***WOOF this bad boy is finally available to watch!! Parting of the Sensory was a project @Vampviz came up with a couple years ago while I was boarding Next Up Forever. (If you haven't subbed Vampviz yet, do it!! They have amazing work!!) I loved their ideas for an AU revolving around Ripplestar, a niche Code-of-the-Clans Warriors character, and how his story could be woven into Shadowsight and Ashfur's. We decided to collab on a storyboard and host a MAP for it!As time went on, though, we both got too busy and the project ground to a halt. I still wanted to finish the storyboard though, even if we've had to put potential MAP planning on hold. There are so many shots that I had so much fun with, and I love how the whole animatic turned out!!We still might host it as a MAP eventually, but for now, enjoy the storyboard we worked so hard on. Vampviz did the first few shots, and we did the thumbnails for most of the video together. ***About the AU - it is about Ripplestar, a malevolent ex-leader who was killed by a bolt of lightning when he attacked the other Clans at a gathering. This bolt gave him the power to summon lightning - but it also trapped him in a liminal, underwater place, where he waited for cats he could manipulate into helping him. He wanted to return to the world of the living - by possessing the body of a Clan leader.When he met Ashpaw as an apprentice, he promised to make Squirrelpaw love him - if he only delivered up her father, Firestar. It takes years for the time to be right, but of course Ashfur tries to kill Firestar for him...and then Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight intervene.Later Ripplestar would try again with Shadowsight, who was tasked with healing the gravely ill Bramblestar. Ripplestar promised he could make Bramblestar well again, if only Shadowsight brought him to the water... and the desperate medicine cat felt it was his only option.In the end, both Ashfur and Shadowsight - each marked, cursed, and betrayed by Ripplestar - must team up to stop him.***Song: Parting of the Sensory by Modest MouseThis video was created using Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, and Vampviz's sections were made using Clip Studio Paint EX.

Sapstar and Nightroot - Warriors OC Animatic WIP Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2024-05-14 | I started this animatic awhile back and never finished it, so I figure I'd post the WIP.It's from mine and Galaxy's clangen stream The Hawk and the Bear, found here:youtube.com/watch?v=0yileJlDziMIt was a murder/mystery story, with detective Orchidhawk trying to find out why so many cats were showing up mauled. Turns out it was a bear - a were-bear, the leader of the other Clan, Sapstar. Her boyfriend, the medicine cat Nightroot, wasn't a fan of her murders - but loved her and feared her too much to stop her. He could at least try to get rid of the bodies for her, though. I really like the song and the visuals, so I hope to one day finish the video, but at least you can enjoy the start of it. ^^The song is Megalomaniac, by aeseaes. This was storyboarded in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro.

I love Osamu Tezuka's work, I need to watch more. The two strike up an unlikely friendship.Later Fireheart would have to rely on that friendship, when he, Bluestar, and Ravensong flee ThunderClan and Tigerstar. Scourge grants them sanctuary in BloodClan. But being in close proximity to Scourge in his role as leader of BloodClan, reveals a side to his friend that Fireheart was not fully aware of... and one he cannot condone."This is my secret santa gift for my dear friend Imber, who has helped me so much this year and been just an amazing friend :) I am absolutely in love with their Warriors AU "Fire Lilies", where Fireheart becomes a medicine cat, which I also did the animatic God Help the Outcasts for. We had Burdockstar and Brightwave, the sole survivors of a great fire that destroyed both their clans (FrondClan and BogClan.) We have the villain Campion, who broke up MANY relationships in his time (although he WAS a good father, which is great because we love a villain with depth.) And we have a story about how, in the end, while we can't choose what happens to us - we can CHOOSE what happens to us, and choose to embrace the life we are given fully. -----Rooke here, playing some solo Clangen to try out the new update's features and to try the (appropriately named for a solo stream) Loner Challenge. I discovered the loner challenge from boomtowne, although I am unsure if they came up with it (you can find their challenge below.)Loner Challenge: We fill the clan with as many kits as we can to start, and then kill off all the adult characters. The orphaned kits must now rebuild their clan from the ground up, ideally with the help of whatever loners happen by. You can only catch the first 2 Pokemon encountered on each route, and they must be fused together to act as one Pokemon4. If a Pokemon faints, it dies, and its bound counterparts die as well. They cannot be used once dead.5. Bound Pokemon share the same nickname.6. During his time as Molestar, his daughter Pearlkit became deathly ill - the only cure was a type of seaweed that grew on the rival TideClan's territory. So Molestar launched an attack on TideClan to steal the cure.During this battle, a TideClan warrior named Stripestrike accidentally killed Molestar's mate Nettleflower. And when FoxClan was driven back and returned home, Molestar arrived at camp to find his daughter had passed away while they were fighting.Overcome with rage and grief, Molestar blamed TideClan for the deaths of his mate and daughter, and vowed revenge. Unable to spur the weakened FoxClan into an all out war, he instead decided to give up his leadership and 9 lives, and left FoxClan. Now going by his warrior name Molemoon, he infiltrated TideClan with the hope of destroying it from within.In his time with TideClan, he grew close to a kit named Nacrekit, who had the same blue eyes as his daughter. He became her mentor when she was 6 moons old. He pulled her into his attempts at a coup, hoping to overthrow TideClan's leader - but the conspiracy was discovered. A fight broke out at the top of the cliffs, and it was Stripestrike who killed Molemoon by knocking him off the cliff onto the rocks below.His hunger for revenge, both against TideClan and against FoxClan for "abandoning" him, persisted long after his death however. Every single animator is putting in their A-game and some of the parts leave my jaw on the floor. So I am immensely happy that I got to have a part, and I wanted to make it worth it! Which I feel I did. Next Up Forever - Warrior Cats AU Animatic Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2022-05-03 | Edit: this animatic was made into a Multi Animator Project, see it here!youtube.com/watch?v=LmTVV8p2idYLet's gooooAbout this AU - it is a role swapping AU, of two of my favorite character foils in all of warrior cats - Rusty, and Tiny. Half brothers, and both kittypets who were offered different opportunities in life. I wanted to explore how each of them would make use of the other's opportunities. Tiny is given the opportunity to become a forest warrior cat, known as Tinyfrost; and Rusty, when driven off by Tigerclaw, becomes the leader of a clan of feral street cats - taking the name Boon. (Boon? Antonym of Scourge? Eh? Eh? XD)This video focuses on Boon's story and how he came to found FireClan, with the help of his friends Barley, Violet, and of course Yellowfang (who provided all the stories and training needed to found the Clan.) Someday I'd like to make other storyboards or other projects revolving around Tinyfrost's story, or other characters in this AU. I've spent a lot of time thinking about it and writing about it haha.I'm so happy with how this turned out. I used it as a chance to push my storyboarding work, and try out new techniques and tools I wasn't used to. I learned how to use Toon Boom Storyboard Pro's 3D tools (DEFINITELY want to use that more) as well as learning how to model in Blender! The background of the StarClan shot, the trees and rocks, I made using Blender's tree and rock generators. Once I figure out how to use Blender completely, my storyboards will be unstoppable! Hoohoo! But first I gotta juice up my computer, the poor thing was one heartbeat away from crashing when I tried to export this monster haha.Eventually I do plan to host a MAP (multi-animator-project) of this video, but I've got a lot of character designs, set designs and color palettes to figure out before that can happen. But keep an eye out for that! I did the rough animation and some of the inking and coloring, as you can see in the progress shots. @rookruff supplied the amazing inking for shot 1, the background for shot 1, and the GORGEOUS shading and editing of the whole part! @mobiusghost painted the lovely background for shot 2, and @sweetlittlelyre really pulled us over the finish line by coloring shot 1's inking. Thanks so much you guys!! The part turned out so good!!I really broke down how I animate with this part, and took the opportunity to stretch myself and refresh myself on the basics. Everything really IS a flour sack or a bouncing ball. And I had fun editing together a fancier MAP part video - I happened to have a lot more progress shots with this one, so I couldn't resist. The next-to-last progress video is Cheeteh's original storyboard, and the final drawing is a doodle I was using for cutoff prevention lol.Thanks @CheetehZ for such a cool MAP! StarClanTrials Warriors MAP - Outro Part C [for @RamKat17] Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2022-03-21 | Snowfur and the rest of StarClan bid Bluestar goodbye.I actually did pretty much this entire part in a day! The storyboard I did a month ago, and finally had the time and the energy to whip it out today. Fun fact, I don't have any good editing software at the moment, and I animate using a storyboarding tool, so I had to manually do the fades in and out for this part. As in I painstakingly, frame by frame, decreased the opacity. Someday I will be able to afford After Effects. Or Premiere. Or something, if y'all have recommendations.I also snuck my warrior cat-sona into the StarClan cats. You Get Me Warriors MAP - Part 11 [For Sad-Machine] Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2022-02-09 | A Winnie-the-Pooh styled Mousefur and Longtail, being best buds and enjoying a lovely day together.FINISHED MAP: youtube.com/watch?v=QlmIsrCxqYgI tried some new things with this one - if it's not obvious, I put my emphasis on character designs and especially on background painting for this part, rather than animation. :) The MAP doesn't have a specific style guide, so Sad-Machine was kind enough to let me experiment! And for a MAP about friendship, something in the style of Winnie-the-Pooh seemed like a match made in heaven. (Plus I fell in love with the idea of Longtail with missing button eyes and a knotted rope tail.) Mimicking the style of inking and watercolor paint from Winnie-the-Pooh turned out to be a lot of fun as well, and I'm really happy with that tree!Big thanks to @frostewyrm - I had to finish this video yesterday due to other commitments, but was feeling like I was hit by a truck and barely able to draw or paint. Froste very kindly hopped in to finish up the coloring on the characters for me. Absolutely saved my life and this part. Everlasting Night Warriors AU MAP - Part 18 [for Mossysprout, collab with @galaxymew] Sarah Sellers - DragonwolfRooke 2021-12-20 | Sol hurries through an icy wasteland to find his old pal Midnight - but she is not who he remembers.FINISHED MAP: youtube.com/watch?v=XQ9ajiiY1ToOooh this one kicked my butt, but I'm so so happy with how it turned out. A collab between my buddy @galaxymew and I! I did the animation for the first two shots, and all the backgrounds; Galaxy did the animation for the final three shots, and all the effects work like the lighting and breath clouds. (She is very cool, check out her work.)What a fun AU and aesthetic! Man, animating those two shots near about killed me (I LOVE Sol's design but he is an ornery boy to animate, with all the different moving parts.) But I had fun figuring out how to animate heavy breathing or jumping down a pile of rocks. Which, painting that pile of rocks, was also a fun adventure to problem solve! In the end, I'm overwhelmingly happy with how it all came together, and I will refrain from being THIS ambitious until at least after the holidays. Like taking the relationship between Tallstar and his father Sandgorse, and making an atmospheric surrealistic video set in Russian panel house landscapes!
