I've been using the developer beta for a few days, and while there are expected bugs and slowdowns, it's a surprisingly capable update. The new “liquid glass” visuals look slick but likely push this hardware close to its limits.The biggest improvement is proper keyboard and mouse support. We finally get a real desktop cursor, better multitasking, and solid file management. I tested it with a USB-C hub and external monitor — although it only mirrors the iPad screen with black bars due to the fixed aspect ratio, it’s still more usable than before. RAM limitations are noticeable with larger apps reloading, but background processing works well, and the iPad feels more useful for light productivity tasks.That said, battery life has taken a hit, and the App Library feels especially sluggish. Occasional crashes and warmth during basic use are also present, but that’s expected in a beta. Although, I wouldn't rush into purchasing the Oura Ring, I'd be sure to spend some time considering if this is right for you. The Oura Ring is a fantastic sleep tracker, comfortable to wear and collects great sleep data that enables it to create "Sleep Scores" and "Readiness Scores". However, I do feel that its limited when it comes to activity tracking as it sometimes is unable to track Heart Rate and if the ring moves slightly, you won't get to see a detailed Heart Rate breakdown of your activity. For me, this is fine as I wear an Apple Watch for workouts and then the Oura Ring at all other times. If you can pick up a good condition used device with warranty, you'll be grabbing yourself a bargain. I have owned my M1 Air since launch and wanted to share my thoughts on it over the 2 and a half years I have owned it. I genuinely have very few bad things to say about it as it meets my needs perfectly. Due to so many used devices in good condition, it does make it hard to recommend buying a brand new device! So be sure to grab yourself a bargain. Be warned that these are NOT user upgradable, so be sure to grab a device that will meet your needs long term. If you will be doing more editing, programming etc you may want to get 16GB Ram & 512GB SSD. Lessons Learned from the iPhone 5c Failure, 9 Years Later Review RuggsTech 2022-02-19 | The iPhone 5c was released in 2013 and was essentially a repackaged iPhone 5… However this wasn’t a good thing as it was released alongside the iPhone 5s, essentially meaning it was a year behind on release. The iPhone 5c was positioned as a budget orientated iPhone, however quickly became labelled as the "iPhone 5 Cheap" and didn't end up offering great value. As the iPhone was sold with an outdated processor, it received 2 years less software support than the iPhone 5s. Retailing at £550, this phone didnt get the price tag to match the budget focus of the phone. Although the iPhone 5c is a bad example of a budget iPhone, it was clear that Apple learned a lot from the mistakes made. For example, the successor to the iPhone 5c (the iPhone SE) was sold with the latest processor that Apple offered, premium build quality and retailed at £400. iPhone XR vs 2020 iPhone SE in 2021: Which is Better Value? (Review) RuggsTech 2021-09-11 | The iPhone SE & iPhone XR are both great phones and can be picked up used for similar prices in 2021. Which one is better value? Time stamps below. DESIGN: iPhone XRThe iPhone XR Features the modern full screen display with the Notch and Face ID. This makes it an exciting upgrade for someone coming from an older iPhone as it is a change in design. In comparison, the 2020 iPhone SE features the exact same design as the iPhone 8 making it a less exciting upgrade. PERFORMANCE: iPhone SE 2020Performance is very similar between the two phones, however the iPhone SE comes out slightly on top. The iPhone XR is powered by the A12 chip & 3gb of ram, whilst the iPhone SE is powered by the A13 chip & 3gb of ram. Apple claims that the A13 chip is up to 20% faster than the A12 chip. The performance differences aren't very noticeable today, but it is likely that the iPhone SE will receive an extra year of software support over the iPhone XR. CAMERA: Draw/iPhone SE 2020In my personal opinion the camera comparison is a draw. Both phones feature a 12mp single lens shooter capable at shooting 4K60P video. The cameras on both phones are great and you will be happy with the photos. However, apple do claim that the iPhone SE 2020 is a more advanced camera over the iPhone XR due to the A13 processor. However, I am unable to notice the difference. BATTERY LIFE: iPhone XRThe iPhone SE 2020 only has a 1,800 mAh battery, whilst the iPhone XR has a 2,900 mAh battery. The iPhone XR is the clear battery life winner. PERFORMANCE - 2020 iPhone SEThe iPhone SE is powered by the A13 chip, whilst the iPhone X is powered by the A11 chip. This processor is two years newer and means the iPhone SE is slightly faster than the iPhone X. The iPhone SE will get longer software updates, opens apps quicker and performs better during demanding tasks (such as gaming). CAMERA - 2020 iPhone SE Whilst they both have a similar sensor (maybe the same sensor), the A13 chip enables the iPhone SE to improve images through computational photography. The iPhone SE is ever so slightly better when it comes to camera performance... But there isn't much in it. BATTERY - DRAW Neither phones are amazing at battery life, but should both get you through a day of 4-5 hours of screen on time. CONCLUSION - iPhone SE 2020 The added performance of the A13 chip means it will be supported for longer. You can spend the same amount of money on two phones, one will last 2-3 years, the other 3-4 years. The iPhone SE is likely to receive another 3-4 years of software support (maybe longer). But will 100% be supported for longer than the iPhone X. The iPhone SE 2020 is a great buy for gaming as it can run any game on the app store without struggling. Due to the new chip in the iPhone SE, it is very future-proofed and is likely to receive software support for at least four more years. CAMERA:Whilst the camera hardware may be the same as the iPhone 8, the A13 chip enables the iPhone SE to take considerably improved photos. Computational photography allows for fantastic photos from this phone that are more than good enough for capturing your memories. The 4K60P video is by far the best video available on a phone at this price point. BATTERY:The iPhone SE may have a very small battery (under 2,000 mAh), but the efficiency of the A13 chip and the low resolution display means this isnt a problem.
